This hidden gem for Indian food in Edinburg, will satisfy all your spice cravings. The food for the lack of better word is -DELLIICIOUSS!!!

The lack of hot drink options on the menu was a surprising shortfall, setting a somewhat underwhelming tone for the meal. We proceeded without starters, and while the main course was acceptable, it was largely unremarkable. The naan was underwhelming—slightly dry and lacking the desired crisp texture—while the butter chicken's overpowering sweetness detracted significantly from its usual rich, savory profile. Additionally, the dessert menu offered limited variety, and multiple selections were unavailable, ultimately leading us to forgo dessert altogether. Although service initially showed promise, it gradually declined over time. Overall, this establishment would greatly benefit from a comprehensive overhaul.

Absolutely lovely food and a friendly attentive service from the staff. Came to Edinburgh to visit friends. We have been twice now in 4 years. Must say the new chefs and menu are amazing. Even took a take away bag, would defo recommend the 234 mile drive we did to eat at this establishment. Everything was 5 star. Lamb saag was my absolute fave dish along with the keema naan

We had an excellent family meal out here yesterday. We could not have been taken better care of and the food was fresh, delicious and the portion sizes were perfect. The staff were friendly, wonderful with our 2.5 year old daughter and attentive throughout. We can't wait to return. Thank you guys!

Good place to have Indian Food. Have good bar also.

Waited half an hour for our carryout. Ordered boiled rice got pilau rice. Can't eat pilau rice. Won't be back.

The food we ordered was very disappointing. Punjabi tikka masala had only few chicken cubes and sauce was a mixture of a tomato sauce and a sugar. After couple of bites I had to scrape sauce off the chicken. Maybe chef dropped too much sugar by accident because the test was awful. We also ordered Goan prawn curry, it was flawless the sauce was thin and had no spices.

Each curry had only 3/4 small pieces of meat, no veg. 5 curries, spent £85 for mostly sauce. Everyone hungry following the meal. Would definitely avoid in future, absolute waste of money

Had the seafood special with jumbo shrimp. Very tasty.

We had a family dinner - north Indian food. The food was tasty but a bit more oily than I would have liked. It was authentic Indian food though, not an excuse for Indian food made by someone else. The service was friendly and fairly quick. The atmosphere was excellent.

The food was very good! The service was a bit slow as it was kind of busy so it is understood and staff apologized for delays. Overall, great food and atmosphere. Would go again if ever in Edinburgh!

What an exceptional meal! The preparation of our food was outstanding across the board, and the portions were generous. You would be hard-pressed to find better Indian food. The decor is unassuming, but the food is outstanding! I can’t wait to go back.

OMG! After a long hunt I got introduced to a place where Indian food is served in it’s full glory. Thank you guys (chef & staff) for amazing service and taste, quality of food. We were here for family celebration. Drinks - Virgin Mojito, Vitamin GinC, Passionfruit cocktail, and Glenfiddich. Appetizers - Papdi chaat, Ajwani fish tikka, Lamb chop sizzler and Hara bhara kabab Main course - Goan Prawn curry, Homestyle chicken with bone, Kadai paneer with Naan & Rice. Dessert - Mango and Malai kulfi Everything above was delicious and tasteful. P.S.: Menu has been revised. Request you guys to please update.

Atmosphere wasn't brilliant but that may be down to our early lunch ... but staff lovely and attentive without being overbearing. Food is always delicious especially the garlic nan. Lol ❤️

We live locally but haven't been to the Spice Lounge for a while. But we had a friend over for the evening so decided to call in for a meal as it's in walking distance. Apparently our visit coincided with the new menu. We were really impressed with the quality of the food... Couldn't fault any of the dishes.

I loved this place ambience, quality of food and service.

it was a long delivery estimate that was amended after the arrival time. waited two and a half hours in the end. no updates given by the restaurant and their phone was permanently engaged.

Great place to sit. Staff are friendly. They didn't have lassies, which I think is a typical drink for an Indian restaurant. Food here was quite spicy. The menu does not indicate how spicy it is. Food is also very tasty. Large naan breads, also very tasty.

Bought biryani rice for take away did not include spoon after charging extra for takeaway when I asked for spoon they said they don’t give spoon for take out, the food was just there didn’t enjoy it..not patronising again

My friend took me to this place right before my flight out of Edinburgh. The staff were excellent and courteous. I was really pleased with the samosa and mango 🥭 lassi was really good. It hit the spot in the evening and was an excellent snack before a short flight. Hopefully I will be back in Edinburgh to sample more items from the menu.

We visited this restaurant for india pakistan match, we indeed had a good time as there were others cheering for India… the staff were polite and good, the ambiance was great too we just didnt get to taste the gajjar halwa here is what we ate

Went to eat in the restaurant There was no Customer at all food and service are poor 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 please work on it from my experience, I would never visit in this restaurant ever again

For a party of five, the boss seemed very unhappy that we only ordered three main meals with breads etc. One reason for that was that we had a child with us that doesn’t like curry and we specifically chose this place as they offered burgers and pizza on the website. When we tried to order this, we were told that no, there was only the Indian menu. But when we left we saw people eating those things. That was a shame but the food we did have was very nice. The service was appalling and we had to hunt out the person to pay at the end. They were attentive otherwise and checked on us a couple of times during the meal. I would recommend this place if you don’t care about getting good service, because the food is good. But don’t expect to be able to order from the different menus.

Indian restaurant in a quiet green residential area. Cozy and colourful interiors, comfortable plushy seats with large wooden tables, plenty of natural light from large windows. Staff very welcoming and professional. Scrumptious, velvety and aromatic Prawn Goan Curry. The Peshwari Naan is deliciously chewy with a pink fruity filling. As the restaurant name indicates, the dishes tend to be quite spicy — excellent for us spice-lovers, but not to everyone taste.

Had ordered food on Sunday tandoori chicken , the chicken was not tasty as it use to be and the curry with that was spoilt, wanted to complain that day but was already late , never will order again as the service is gone from good to bad .

While visiting Edinburg, the Spice Lounge was recommended to us by a hotel guest. We were not disappointed. We were greeted by Hritik the front of house,and then the owner Sham, who is a great host. The ambience in the restaurant was great and comfortable. We ordered our meal (vegetarian), which arrived promptly. The food was delicious and so was the beer. I would definitely recommend this Spice Lounge to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

Authentic Indian 🇮🇳 spice flavor, managed by Indians, the boss should be Indian 🤔, the price is relatively expensive, the lunch set is small in size, but really delicious, if you have never been to India, you can give it a try...it's easier than flying🤣🤣

Family Christmas Dinner which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The atmosphere and the friendly welcome from the seasonally dressed staff was an excellent start. The service and quality of food were first class. The turkey was plentiful and truly succulent nt. Could not fault any of the 5 courses. Excellent value for money. No cooking for the wife and no washing up for me. Result.

Food was ok. However, £4.20 for 3 tiny bits of pakora chicken as a starter was very disappointing. Definitely not worth the money.

Celebrating a birthday and having previously been here when visiting Edinburgh we decided on a return visit and it did not disappoint. Food is amazing and hospitality exceptional. I'm also reliably informed by my son it has the best pint of Guinness for miles around.

Top-notch food as always - first time we’ve gotten delivery rather than eat-in, but just as good as it is at the table and delivered early for us.

Staff friendly food exceptional have a comfy beer before or after meal would recommend this to everyone come try.

Bad quality food and not up to the mark. Ordered Daal Bukhari. Since I was visiting alone, first they made me wait for long. And, then fully ignored during service. Came with high expectations and very disappointed.

Food is great here, probably 1 of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to. We stumbled on this by chance, and at first glance from the outside, we were a bit dubious. However, the food and service were great.

Nice big restaurant and bar area and love the modern feel and decor. The food was nice albeit different to what I'm used to but still liked it. Service was a bit lackluster but we did get there late and the restaurant was pretty empty hence not much atmosphere and the waiters were more concerned about cleaning and setting up for the next day. Still I enjoyed it and would come back again.

First time there with my friend after a fringe show. I had delicious Jeera Aloo with Basmati rice. Good of vegetable dishes selection. Friendly staff and lovely decor.

Really good Indian food. Decided to try it it out since it’s near to where I live and was pleasantly surprised . Loved their tandoori items so much that I ordered them twice. Service was a little slow but thats okay. Big parking area which I loved

I ordered a paneer curry and what I got was TOFU instead. The onion bhaji was salty and the veg briani had carrots that was hard and needed to be cooked more! I am so disappointed in their food!!!! Last time I ordered Theo lamb briani and it was ok. But second time, putting tofu instead of paneer!!! That is unbelievable. I did call the restaurant and told them. The person told me it is pure paneer. I have been eating paneer and tofu all my life, so I do know the difference in taste! I would not recommend this place unless they improve their quality. Tofu instead of paneer is cheating !

Not good at all tasteless food very small potion of curry sauce and not the best.tandoori chicken in menu full chicken but actually it’s just 2 legs been cut to half and a few pieces of chicken kebabs???and they call this full chicken I need to send them a photo for a full chicken until they see the full chicken ,not going back again and don’t recommending this place to anyone as you don’t know if you in an Indian restaurant or an old pub??high prices and not worth it and I think they need to do more cleaning as the place looks dirty????? THIS IS A REPLY FOR RESTAURANT RESPONSE First it wasn’t a party and a lot of people we just been a couple ??your curry sauce not even a full spoon so how this sauce will be enough for the meal ??? And when you say in your menu it’s a full chicken it should be a full chicken ???not in the way been served and I’m not talking about the cutting but I think you cut the chicken this way until you confuse the customer this what we get in full chicken ( 3 chicken drumsticks. 2 chicken thighs,3 pieces of chicken kebabs ??? IS THAT A FULL CHICKEN???UNLESS YOUR CHICKEN HAS 3 DRUMSTICKS??? Simply you’re not honest in your menu and if you’re bzy I don’t know why????because your food it doesn’t taste even like an Indian ??!2 meals and 2 drinks for £50 ???not worth even eating in your place for £20 and we wasn’t in wating area??? And we didn’t ask for any discount ???you must mixed up with other customers as that many complain about your place???Indian food full with flavour???yours not ???

Joke i asked them for decent pakora yogurt sauce on the pakora and it was red sauce i also asked for salad on the pakora and they added 3 tiny bits of lettuce i also wanted them to add tub korma sauce and they wanted to charge £5.30 for a tub complete cowboys avoid asap
