Really disappointing experience when our table for 2 was surrounded by large groups (one table was +20). The low bar on what is regarded as acceptable behaviour for this restaurant was exasperated by the customary loud piped music left us no choice but to leave after starters. I appreciate that these are tough times for the hospitality business but that doesn’t mean packing guests in like sardines will sustain your business over time.

I phoned the restuarant last minute towards the evening and fully expected the restuarant to say they can't accommodate me and my family. However, the restuarant was more than accomodating and gave us a table for half 8. The service was excellent and made us feel welcomed. The waiters engaged well in a conversation and took an interest in us. The service was good and the food was even better. Highly recommend a visit to try the food. The food was better than most Indian cuisines I've tried in the midlands, great adition to east kilbride. Ps, the keema naans were superb. Really hope the standards stay the same on our next visit. Well done to the restuarant.

As an avid fan of Indian food I was astonished at the poor quality of the food and ingredients. The chicken bhoona was flavourless...a watery brown colour with the chicken overcooked. I will never eat or order from here again.

Great restaurant, so disappointing with tonight's takeaway, the starter should have been Desi Fish turns out to be a tub of potato scallops. Wasn't busy there so no excuse.

The food and service alone was worth all of the 5 stars and more. But more than that, I went to Spice with a small group of friends as a visitor to East Kilbride, following a particularly difficult and emotional funeral service for a very close friend. Dean could not have been more attentive, he completely got the mood and acted with utmost dignity and empathy. Thank you Dean, above and beyond my friend... I will be back.

First time here and won’t be the last . Lunch with friends and 2 of us were gluten free. Most of the menu caters for Gluten Free. Good selection and great value at lunch . £12.95 for 3 courses. Our 2 waiters today were very friendly and helpful.

Recently went as a guest to an engagement party , it was a lovely night with great host to great food been served on the night. Parking can be a problem otherwise location was fine

We always eat there for Indian food good food and a lovely friendly Atmosphere . Go all out at Christmas too for the kids owner and sons are lovely people . We have dined there fir many years and would recommend trying it to anyone.

The staff from the moment we walked in were welcoming and attentive bearing in mind we were a big table of 10 hungry for a decent curry but all arriving at different times the service did not lack for one moment. We kindly got invited to sit in the lounge area where we engaged with the friendly staff telling us about their restaurant, up coming events all while being looked after with beverages. After being seated at the table we received recommendations and they did not disappoint. Very tasty and hope they keep them on the menu. We had dietary requirements and allergies that needed to be considered once again the food recommended was everything that was promised. I’d eat here for a curry over and over again. Staff are top people family run restaurant with a great atmosphere and the food matches. Do not skip a curry in East Kilbride at Spice!

Hosted my 60th birthday here. 20 for dinner and spent the rest of the evening in the lounge, karaoke provided by the staff. Great night. Lamb tikka ….awsome!

Visited her on Saturday 13th July for wife's birthday after coming her for my birthday in January which I raved about the food etc,,I understand it was the lunch menu but we were disappointed at the portion size ,baby portions & hardly any chicken,,although the food is lovely I would of liked more food ,,more curry & rice please,,

I would have given zero if available. Undercooked chicken served, when I explained the Management they were not in situation to accept it and my self I know how the chicken tikka tastes. To be honest management was not good enough to handle customers. My suggestion to management to ensure experienced manager should be hired. I can say by experience the food was zero at taste and quality.

One of the best Indians on my list, local for us and delicious food. Service is lovely and if your ever there on Christmas, You get greeted by Santa! Which the children in my family loved. Great family outing, definitely recommend.

Overpriced for the level of food quality and quantity provided. Service was slow and staff did not really engage to find out if everything was OK. For the price, there are better places to go.

So this review is based on a takeaway however I have eaten here multiple times and will keep returning An order of Chana and Pinapple Puri to start was an easy choice to make. The combination of the sweet and tangy flavours fell together perfectly. Good sized starter and left perfect room for my main course. Being a massive fan of Indian food and having being cooking my own for multiple years now it's difficult to find an Indian Restaurant that I can't compare to my own food. So I had to order the lamb staff curry. The most authentic dish you can get from the chef. From opening the dish you could tell it had spent hours cooking. Lamb that falls off the bone and is packed with so much flavour. A sauce mixed with the natural oils that have drawn out of the meat and infused with the spices. On the side a portion of the Chefs Special Chicken Lahori. A dish I will always get when I come to spice the blend of dry spices on the chicken is just brilliant. A fantastic meal as always from the team at Spice. Quality of Food - 5 Service (Time to Wait) - 5 Value for Money - 4 Space in Restaurant - 4 Total: 4.5 / 5

Nice restraunt and takeaway, a little pricey but nice for a change.

Food was perfect best in the area but service was good upto main course then we got forgotten. Only 6 people in restaurant so should have been amazing such a shame. We wanted coffee desserts and some drinks but went somewhere else for those. Had to go to kitchen get chef to get server so I could pay.....

my wife and I called in to spice for the first time and from the start of our experience when camran introduced him self and showed us to our table i was already impressed. when the food arrived it was set out in very good portion sizes and my wife and myself totally enjoyed every mouthful i had the staff curry and it was fantastic and i cant wait to return to spice in east kilbride. well done camran and all the staff for our excellent experience

Food was standard indian set meal! I believe if I ordered from the menu and paid more I would have been treated differently. Drinks where small and pricey in order to buy more! Restaurant owners only spoke or gave you the time of day when paying the bill hoping for a tip! Beautiful restaurant but I'll mannered stuck up staff! Have let this place down

Warning: They add a £0.50 service charge to collection orders. I have eaten here once before (2014?) & found it to be over priced - was told that it is better to get take away from here. Recently I ordered Pakora for collection; it was nice enough, (softer/ not as crispy as the pakora from my usual places, but still nice). Good sized portion too. Was told £4.95 over the phone, but when I got there the same staff member charged me £5.45 (so I had to put my £5 note away and use my card). Restaurant looked clean and presentable, the food was good, but they charge you extra for the sake of it; therefore would not recommend or go back. Update: the people I know who have been coming here for years no longer come here, they say that the quality of the food has gone downhill so they have their family get-togethers elsewhere now.

One of the best restaurant experiences I have had for ages . The welcome from the friendly and helpful staff was amazing and the food was fantastic. Being able to sit comfortably in the piano lounge after was so relaxing and it felt like being in a friends house. Will definitely be back .

Had a fantastic meal all was perfect

We've been here several times before, but the experience has been getting worse each time. There are plenty of tables but you have to wait for them to change the settings from dinner to lunch, even when you arrive before 1pm. After the main meal we waited far too long to be offered tea/coffee/ice cream which took forever to arrive. I also heard an adjacent table ask for their bill 3 times. We ended up paying the bill at the bar as the ice cream arrived. We were asked if we wanted the ice cream while standing at the bar paying the bill !!! Even after I said we'd waited long enough there was no comment or apology. All in over 1hr 45mins for 2 courses. Sadly I don't think we'll be back.

Service was absolutely outstanding from all the staff never felt so taken care of in a restaurant before like this! Food was amazing and atmosphere was so relaxed. 10/10 will be back!

I was stoppat the local Premier Inn and they recommended here. When I arrived there were 2 waiting the tables and 2 lots of guests. It took approximately 15 or more minutes to be served (it didn't really matter as i was in no rush) . They bought me a starter special which was excellent. I had a prawn bhuna which I couldn't taste the prawns as it was too hot (spice not temperature). The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. Next time I stop in the area I might try somewhere else.

Food never arrived waited two hours called and had a rude individual on the phone that was not willing to help at all. I would avoid ordering from here.

We had a family dinner here last night and we all agreed that it was the best Indian food we had tasted. For me it was my first visit to Spice, but I will definitely be back. Food was perfect and the two waiters who served us were lovely. Very pleasant

So disappointed in spice. We’ve not had a takeaway for a long time as the prices are just so expensive. We thought we’d have a treat and order our favourite curry but it’s went right down hill, the curry was really watery and not what I remember. The curry from spice of life in Calderwood is better and it used to be the opposite even tho it’s owned by the same family. Sorry to say it’ll be another 6 years before we order again.

I used to think of this place as the best Indian in East kilbride we get Christmas Dinner every year from them and order at least once ever few months, but I will not be ordering again. Over the last year they have massively went down hill the korma sauce is literally like water now with hardly any taste and the sweet nans are terrible can't even call it a sweet nan anymore as there is basically no filling. It's a shame it has went so badly but unfortunately will not be ordering again as are other Indians in East kilbride that are better than it.

An excellent evening, (we were celebrating our wedding anniversary). The food was delicious, and the service, excellent. Kamran and Dean went above and beyond to make this a night to remember. We´ll definitely be back.

Visit regularly, food is amazing so is the service ! Our favourite Indian in ek!! Mushroom pakora and halloumi pakora are just wow. All the curry’s are so good !

I was there yesterday with my mum to commemorate the anniversary of my dad's death. We always go for a meal. Usually we are sad on this day but when we went, we ended up in high spirits due to not only the amazing banter we had with Dean but the flawless food! We ordered off the set lunch menu and we had vegetable pakora, mum had chicken bhoona and I had chicken tikka garlic chilli masala then we both had ice cream. Two 3 course meals for under £30 with the highest quality, to die for, food, you can't knock that! The whole restaurant is immaculate and pristine. I'd go here every day if I wasn't on a strict diet. Special thanks to Dean for giving us a great laugh on what is normally a difficult day for us❤️

The food was wonderful, but it was the service that truly stood out. We were given time to enjoy a cocktail in the lounge while waiting for out table (we arrived very early), and were given menus to browse while we waited. The manager then asked if we had any questions and was hugely helpful in recommending dishes based on our tastes. When our table was ready, the manager returned and made sure our drinks were carried through, and our starters were waiting for us when we arrived. The service throughout was friendly while unobtrusive. Absolutely delighted overall and looking forward to a return trip soon.

Searches a glass of water in a glass with a crack and my sister cut her lip, a half hearted apply and attitude from the female manager. When paid the bill only offered a bailies as an apology whilst my sister was still bleeding lip. The male manager was more sympathetic. They then forgot to charge for a bottle of wine and had cheek to ask for payment. Service average and after complaining they commenced I agree although serving glass that cut my sister think it’s acceptable. Absolutely discussing. I encourage people to rgrferain from eating here.

I've had a couple of nice meals here but that was several years ago. Last few experiences have been awful: haphazard service, bland food full of sugar and radioactive orange and red food colouring. The front garden is an overgrown, littered mess. The take away is a gold mine but they plough nothing back into the restaurant. Plus it's very pricey if you can't order from the pre-theatre menu. I feel this business takes loyal customers for granted. I won't be back.

Delivery took 1hr 45 mins contacted restaurant who contacted driver, delivery then arrived within 5 minutes. Everything stone cold! Naan bread burnt & hard. Peshwari naan ordered but received a plain naan with coconut sprinkled on top. Did not receive lamb bhoona, no idea what it was - possibly beef with chickpeas in it? Chicken in korma was tough. Hard to get through on phone so did not phone to complain! *Eventually got through to restaurant to complain - no apology for delay and wrong order, simply not interested surprisingly! No offer of sending food back for replacement or anything*

Waited 1hour 50mins for our order to be delivered after 3 phone calls to find out where it had got to to be told its sitting infront of me by the women on the phone when it arrived the lamb chasni had more red sauce than lamb in it the rest of the order was average but nothing special the nan bread was burnt very disapointed

Ordered chicken patia. It came and was extremely spicy. The lady said maybe you ordered chicken tikka patia. No I did not. Then said maybe the chef has used a spoon with spices on it. Brought out patia sauce in a small dish which was mild and not what I was given. The lady was rude and saud I have taken the price of your poppadoms off your bill. more people in the restaurant were complaining food was too spicy. I have been to this restaurant several times but will never go back. The lady then said I will give you a mint to cool your mouth down and was laughing. All I can say is Cross contamination with spoons. I was appauled at this experience. The lady coukd not take criticism. To take the price of poppadoms off when I did not touch my food. Dreadful....

Decent experience. I’d say the service was brilliant, that would probably be more of a 4/5 star based on that alone as the staff were very friendly, welcoming and worked efficiently. The food was decent, however, I wouldn’t advise ordering the soup. It was 100% canned, so it was soft and mushy like the Heinz soup (pretty sure it was Heinz soup) which is very disappointing to receive at a restaurant as you’d expect it to be homemade. The main was decent, the rice and sauce were lovely, as well as the nan bread but the chicken was slightly tough and dry but still edible. Because of the food I’d give a 3 star. I did attend the lunch menu between 12-4 so the value was brilliant, 3 courses for £10 basically so I do feel it was great value for money, I just didn’t expect to have canned soup lol. The restaurant itself was nice to sit in and was very clean and fresh looking/well maintained. I would recommend this restaurant as its definitely good value for money and a nice experience but do not order the soup, just get pakoras or something.

Having heard great reviews of the flavour and freshness of the food at Spice, placed first online takeaway order. It was the vegetarian starter platter and garlic Nan bread. Not only were the pakora filled with flour and lacking in both veg and flavour the...

Take away was rubbish. Reheated pakora- too floury. Naan bread wasn't very fresh. Even the onions were not fresh tasting. Felt like I was eating 70s Indian cuisine.

Well the food was great and the service great. The kitchen made a wee mistake with the food but that was quickly rectified. Not like them butI understand they were training new staff. The main thing is the quality. Lahori fish starter is enough for 2 and really tasty. I tried the lamb tikka and it was cooked to my taste. It came with a gravy but I swopped it for a better sauce because if you do not like a dish they will always be happy to exchange. I will be back.

We had a fabulous night in Spice tonight. 8 family members getting together for a catch up. Food was fantastic, as always, service first class, as always and Abi, The Manager is so friendly and attentive. He really makes times for his customers and makes your visit special. Well worth a visit.

Table booked in advance and ready on arrival in this busy restaurant. Service excellent throughout. We shared a Fish Lahori starter which was superb. Lovely spicy crisp batter and white fish. I then had a lamb balti which was really full of flavour. My wife had chicken malander? Which she enjoyed but felt it had a bit too much salt but nice nevertheless. The nan was a bit crispy but we both enjoyed this style. We will be back to this friendly restaurant. I told you we epuld be back. My grandson came up from Lancaster and wanted a curry. Everything was perfect and this time the nans were much more to my liking. Our host was in good form as usual and re iterated their ethos. Ie if you do not like your curry, they will make you another. Best curry shop in E K by far.

Excellent choice on the menu even for the children. Abby could not do enough for us. The food service and staff were all excellent. We had a large family all received our food on time together and hot. Abby even entertained the children which let us have our meal. Brilliant restaurant and will definitely be back

An absolute disgrace, I ordered at 5pm and waited over 3 hours and it had still not been delivered. When I rang up to ask, I was hung up on. I will never be ordering from here again.

My husband and i visited here last weekend, we haven't been in a few months but don't think we'll be back. Had a gorgeous meal. Staff were nice enough and service was ok, although a bit hectic with the little staff they have running around everywhere. Even so, what seemed like the owner came in and sat down at tables with people while they had their meals infront of them which we found uncomfortable, dreading that we'd be the next ones. When it came to payment I asked if I gave a tip would they be able to keep it or do they share it out, I was told no they don't get them. I asked if I paid a tip with the bill but gave them a separate tip would they be able to keep it, I was told no! I'm pretty disgusted that we've visited here many times over the years and our money, which we thought was going to staff members, is infact being kept by the owners so we won't be returning

Poor show chicken pakora had 3 pieces and chicken dopiaza had 4 pieces of chicken. Just not good enough.
