Rangoli Indian Restaurant in South Lanarkshire

Disappointed in the food, chicken was too tough. Might be a coincidence but, had dodgy tummy for a couple of days after my visit. (As did my wife)Also disappointing was this restaurant isn’t taking part in the “Eat out to help out” scheme. Nice enough staff but, won’t be back as quality of food wasn’t good enough.

Beautiful food, good portion sizes. Very filling. Friendly and safe environment. Contact details taken upon sitting for both of us. Great menu. Definitely returning.

Discovered the Rangoli only month ago, had the best carry out ever from any Indian Restaurant, decided to try again last night but worried that second time round might be a let down! NO WAY!!! Even better. Family Feast for 4 can't be beaten, beautiful fresh mixed pakora, 4 poppadoms, two tubs spiced onions, two tubs of sauce, tub of mixed salad for garnish. The four of us were SO full, we had to wait an hour before attempting our curries, a lovely Lamb curry was melt in the mouth tender, 3 different chicken curries were SO good, particularly the Jalfrezi and Dopiaza, two rice and two naan. At £32.50 the lot I defy anyone to find better value. Ordered approx 6.15 pm for 'ASAP' delivery which they estimated at 7.15pm, it actually arrived 30 minutes later!! Just like last time, there was a stack left over, so it has been put in the freezer for a mid week curry easily serving 2 very generously!! Till the next time! Highly recommended!

Delivery was 1 hour 50 minutes late despite phoning 3 times and being told it was on its way .almost 9 pm when it arrived far to late for me to eat a curry.5 pieces of pakora , REALLY . Paid surcharge for contactless as didn’t want to hand over cash or get change back in the present health crisis ,driver knew nothing about contactless had to pay by cash.I had been trying to call to cancel order from 8.30 ,number busy still dealing when driver arrived at the door As it wasn’t his fault handed over cash .Won’t use again sadly , think trading standards should be made aware that customers are being conned into paying surcharge for contactless to protect themselves then have to pay by cash .

Used groupon voucher,staff Pleasant and meal lovely ,however £6.95 supplement on lamb tandoori questionable as nowhere to be found on voucher.

Visited with friends recently. Food different but exceptional. Lots of unusual dishes. Staff very friendly and attentive and great value for money. Clean, warm and confortable. No criticisms whatsoever and would go again if in the area.

We've recently switched to using this Indian take away, food is really good. Tandoori selection is really tasty. Only let down was the peshwari nan, needed more jam inside. Will defo use again.

We had a leaflet put through the door so thought let’s give this place a try. We were not disappointed. The menu is simple enough with various set meals combinations and the prices are really good. The traditional chicken curry is great.

Starter was a re heat mains were nice but people walking through from take away section to the toilet was a bit intrusive

1st time we have had a takeaway from Rangoli . It certainly won’t be the last. It was delicious. Fab!!!!!

I came here with my dad and I had bought a Groupon deal. The staff were very helpful and the food was amazing. You get poppadoms and some spiced onions complimentary and it is lovely whilst waiting for starters, the main was beautiful too. My dad thoroughly enjoyed the meal as well and he's a Indian curry lover and very fussy. Thanks for a lovely meal and lovely atmosphere.

Was given a Groupon visit as a present,and boy was a great present.Fantastic mixed pakora tender and tasty,mains were fantastic chicken phunjabi madala was stunning,rice and a super soft Nan which was the size of the table rounded off a superdooper meal,aye would highly recommend.

We have tried it for the first time prior going to cinema ( located walking distance from Shopping Centre and Odeon in EK) and found this place to be fantastic. The food was fresh, tasty, plentiful and not too greasy, the service was very attentive but without being intrusive. The restaurant is clean and pleasantly decorated, no issue with parking and there are also some spaces right in front of the restaurant. Overall, very nice evening and 5 well deserved stars. Got a two course meal as a gift. Didn't know the restaurant was there. Got a booking on a Friday night. Was quite busy. All tables full. I'm really quite boring with Indian food as not really sure what to get. The waitress was great. She suggested a few different meals rather than the usual curries. Had mixed pakora for staters, lovely and light. The mains were lovely with a rice and naan. Couldn't finish it. Will be returning in the near future.

An easily accessible restaurant with an extensive menu, delicious food and very hospitable staff - a lovely dinner experience!

I love this restaurant, I’ve never had a bad meal in here, staff are great and we’ve known them for over 20 years. The chicken tikka is the best you’ll ever taste and should be winning awards.

This was the second visit to Rangoli, and it was equally as good as the first time.

Went on Saturday night with a Groupon Voucher; bit of a mix up on my part with voucher but staff were great. The food was amazing and the female who served us was an asset to restaurant. Will definitely be back!

Ate here last night with a voucher we had been given and was not disappointed. Pleasant staff and good service. Complimentary poppadums and spicy onions on arrival! We started with chicken pakora and chicken chaat - both delicious and probably one of the nicest chicken chaat we have ever eaten. I then had chicken dopiaza and my husband had lamb bhuna with a naan bread (yum!) and rice to share. Good size portions and nicely cooked. The beer on draft is cobra. It has a busy takeaway next door and you can hear quite a bit of noise from there and the kitchen due to how busy it is I guess. However, I would not hesitate to eat here again. Very nice indeed.

Go to this restaurant regularly with my husband but took a friend there tonight and we had a wonderful time. The food was excellent and the staff are so friendly and helpful. They did not rush us at all and it was a lovely relaxing evening.

Booked online. On arrival told that if booked through website they don't see. Our booking invalid. They are busy with a high volume of customers. Looked around restaurant had only 2 tables filled. 10 empty!! Seated but felt very uncomfortable. Ordered food. Meal lovely. Fish starter delicious. Mixture of lamb, fish and chicken mains. Nan bread large and light. Meal ended and resturant still not full. Would go back but advise phone to book table as website not working.

Came here for Sunday dinner the food was delicious and the staff very attentive, try the Jalfrezi - you wont be disappointed

First time ordering takeaway and we were not disappointed. Curry’s were excellent. Recommend the Jalandhari which is a medium spiced curry. Nice veg pakora too. Would order again.

Could be cleaner when I got my carry out, l couldn’t eat it , thinking of the mess of the place , food lying on a dirty floor .ie prawn and kebab

Was given a Groupon voucher as a gift. This was my first visit to this restaurant and I would definitely recommend it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were given complimentary popadoms and spiced onions as soon as we sat down. The starters and mains were really fresh. Good size portions and beautiful food. Would definitely go back.

Once we started coming here it's now our favourite. Selection of dips and fresh thin crisp poppadoms lovely. We opt for veg pakora, so light crispy and I feel the most traditional of any tasted, I have been in all best Indian restaurants in area since the 70's.....I tend to stick to old faves, chicken dhansak is fab. Portions just right but if I can't finish I always take away for next night at home, love a doggy bag ...

Rangoli is a tasteful modern restaurant with white starched tablecloths. There is parking up to the door, metered during the day. Wheelchair access should be fine.

Been to restaurant a few times really good food, thought I would try the groupon deal, what a disaster, very little choice on the menu and the cost of additional charges to change costs more than the a la carte

Booked with a Groupon both times. Couldn't fault the food, very good value for money, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and clean.

Starters were usual fare and tasty.Dopiaza was a real disappointment.It lacked spice and tasted sweet.This may be all the fad in primary schools but in a curry it's a real turn off.The place was recommended by my daughter,however it was just a waste of money.Wont be back.

I can't rate this place highly enough. We have been eating out of here for years. Our favourite is the lamb bhuna it's the best quality meat, just so tender, flavours are amazing. All their curries are packed with ingredients and flavour and are nice and thick compared with some of the watery stuff I've had from other restaurants. They are always great with customer service. Food is piping hot and great value. If you're looking for a family meal or a lovely regular takeaway you wouldn't be disappointed by this place. I just called a takeaway for a set meal and they kindly swapped certain items for me like pinapple fritters for gulab jaman as I don't like pineapple. They did this for free with no hassle. Again a sign of their great customer service. Give it a go they are on just eat.

Had a voucher deal and can confirm food was delicious, paid a little extra for king prawns and it was well worth it, largest prawns I have ever been served! Large portions, tasty sauces and fab service. Highly recommend. Thank you Rangoli from the McDougalls

First time my husband and I have been to this restaurant and we will definitely be going back food was absolutely amazing very fresh and plenty of it. The staff are so friendly and helpful in fact they couldn't do enough for you. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be letting my family and friends know about it. Well done to all of you and compliments to the chef and his staff.

My wife and I visited for the second time a few days ago. We had a Groupon voucher which allowed us two courses for under £17 per couple. The food came, it was piping hot and of a very high standars. We had prawn poori and chicken pakora to start, followed by chicken and mushroom and chicken kashmiri to follow. The were accompanied by some rice and chapatis. Everything was excellent - the waitress also was very helpful, friendly and attentive. All in all, this was an excellent dining experience and we will be back.

We eat here as part of a voucher deal and thoroughly enjoyed it.We upgraded from the purchased deal for a small additional cost which was good value for money.The restaurant was nice and pleasant,staff were friendly and efficient and the food was lovely.The portions were so large we couldn't finish our meal and had to have the leftovers boxed up to take home with us.We have eaten in a lot of Indian restaurants in the Glasgow and Lanarkshire areas and the Rangoli is one of the best we have been in.

The food was very good - and fairly priced. Staff friendly and attentive--well worth a visit--Go for it!!

First timers and used the restaurant early evening. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Everyone enjoyed the food and we couldn't really fault it. The one downside against the location is the limited parking spaces and even if you do get one meters are in operation up until a certain time. The carry out section appeared to be very busy which is usually a good sign, and at peaks times it may impact on the speed of service.

Fantastic meal, authentic Indian food, cooked amazingly, staff are very friendly and welcoming. I can’t recommend highly enough. Don’t miss out on this jewel in East Kilbride Thanks Guys for everything especially Ryan who looked after us cheers

Average Indian food! Very slow poor service, one girl trying to serve entire restaurant! I had to ask four times for bill! Would put me off returning!

Absolutely the worst Indian I have ever had. Main meal sauce was vile and all watery. Didn’t taste anything like it was meant to. Chicken pakora was tough and when I bit into a bit there was a hair in the batter. All went in the bin, even my dog wouldn’t eat the chicken from the main it was that stinking!!! Not even worth one circle!!

We fancied something different and wanted a take away. This was outstanding and fast service.

Visited here tonight with my wife for the first time using a group on voucher as a present from family at Xmas. In short the food was great and the service too. Great choice from the side menu using our voucher but the main menu itself was great and can’t wait to visit again next time.

Got the set meal for 1c and a separate portion of Salt and chilli chips.

We went here for my daughters 16th birthday all 15 of us.The food was lovely and the service was great.Everybody had a great night and really enjoyed there food.The ones that don’t like Indian food could have pizza,burgers,fish and chips.Thanks again for a great night.

Second time here and it didn’t disappoint. Chicken chat to start followed by Lamb Karahi and Chicken Balti. Food was hot and tasty and service was excellent. It’s now our new go to Indian restaurant.

Visited this small Indian restaurant tucked away round the corner in Glebe Street for the first time tonight. The food was amazing! Lovely chicken jalfrezi and chicken makati cooked to perfection! Will definitely be back. Nicest food we’ve had for a while

Visited this East Kilbride restaurant for the first time. Relaxed ambiance with friendly staff and excellent food. Well worth a visit.

We were looking for a restaurant to try for a change and stumbled across Rangoli.

Ordered a takeaway from here over the weekend. We got 2 wraps they were absolutely huge (think we will just get 1 next time) food was very fresh and didn’t have that horrible greasy feeling after eating either will definitely be back again

Fantastic meal my husband is still raving about the tandoori lamb chops. Pity the restaurant is so quiet come on trip advisor take down Asha's restaurant as it's no longer there and maybe people will try the new restaurant. Please try this restaurant as the food, service and especially the waitress are exceptional.

Very quiet in the restaurant can't understand why. Had the pre theatre menu again fantastic value for money and food was fabulous.

Great to see the former manager of Chutney Blu back in business. Had our old favourite Special Mix King kebab and it was fab. Just like old times.

We heard about this wonderful Indian restaurant from friends. It also has a very busy takeaway part - always a good thing! We arrived at 8pm easily seated by very attentive staff. Excellent menu, with description of dishes. Really brilliant service and then the food arrived! Wow. So good. We finished the lot!! Including the loveliest nan bread ever!! You gota go there!!

We have only found this place in the village and what a find! We have ordered takeaway three times and have never been dissapointed. The restaurant provides half potions of main meals which is great for us as we both have different tastes. I enjoy chicken and my husband prefers lamb.The pakora is lovely and rice is cooked to perfection. This will definitely be our new takeaway place but we will try eating in the restaurant soon too.

Never knew this place was there until Christmas eve. We had a horrible experience with the staff in the spice restaurant and walked out not having been fed. We will never go back. We heard about the Rangoli n decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed.

Ordered takeaway from here tonight and although I normally don't review things I feel as if this place deserves one. I ordered mixed tandoori sizzler . The food was excellent, well cooked , tasty and the portion was huge. Delivery was bang on time.....five stars will definitely use again.

Deciding to go out for a pre Christmas treat As we all love India food decided to try Rangoli restaurant which is under new management and newly opened.

Having my usual Indian Takeway Spice Of Life being off the boil lately, I'd heard only good things about Rangoli Indian Restaurant & decided to give their takeaway service a try on Monday 27th November.

Yes we go out for a meal to eat, and of course the food must be good. That however is not all. The service must be good, and the surroundings appropriate. This new restaurant ticks all the boxes.
