Cinnamon in South Lanarkshire

I walked into order a set meal for 2 Takeaway at exactly 5pm. Knowing the slowness of the place i expect to wait 20-30 mins. FINE. 525pm - still waiting, then a woman walks into say she order through UBEREATS. The Manager checks it and he can find nothing ordered. She checks her phone and has put the wrong next days date in, hence why no order has arrived at the restaurant. He then takes her set meal for 2 order and waits. UNBELIEVABLY 15 MINUTES LATER SHE GETS HER ORDER BEFORE MINE. I COMPLAIN, GET THE USUAL PATHETIC APOLOGY AND FULLY 50 MINUTES AFTER GOING INTO IT, I GET MINE. I GET HOME AND THEY HAVE FORGOTTEN THE RICE!! THIS IS THE MOOST DISORGANISED RESTAURANT/TAKEAWAY I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO. FOOD WAS COLD, WATERY, OILY AS WELL. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Bought lamb vindaloo takeaway. Sat 17/2/24......got to be the worst curry I have ever tasted.....in fact vile...does not come close.....ate a couple of forkfulls and that was it......straight in the bin.....had I not had a couple of beers I'd have returned it. Also rice in a plastic bag ...really???? Total waste of time and cash... First and last visit ......do yourself a favour and give it a miss.... u have been warned.....

Chicken poorie was tastless Chicken in the curry was over cooked tough chewy and dry Curry sauce was nice I got garlic chillie curry,,,,, but had to add 2 bowls of green chilli not hot at all Garlic chillie nan was OK nothing special no chillies on it just garlic butter and a red sauce I personaly won't be back Cobra beer was nice...... na not good at all

Ordered a takeaway for collection. Was ready to collect on my arrival. Curry was tasty, very rich compared to others but definitely enjoy.

The garlic and chilli Nan is disgusting. Soggy. And smells bad. It’s bright red as it’s just got a load of what looks like parkora sauce over it lol. Probably why soggy also. Went in the bin.

Staff are polite and friendly but need training on the most basic things, table that arrived after us got orders taken and served first, no spoons provided in curry bowls, had to ask for this and it took a while. Ordered punjabi hot pot mince and it tasted nothing like it. I know as I'm from that background. There was also very little mince in it and more onions and sauce. Quite dissapointing. Also ordered the staff chicken curry, which on the menu says on the bone, dish that arrived was boneless. Requested it to be changed to what was mentioned on the menu, dish came back with 2 additional pieces of chicken on the bone, but it was clearly pieces of chicken wing meant to be served as a chaat starter. Nothing like a staff curry. It's unacceptable that a customer has pointed out something that isn't what's stated on the menu, and still you can't get it right. Bread was good, beer nice and chilled, but that's about all this place has going for it as an Indian restaurant.

Who in this day and age serves hot takeaway rice in a plastic bag? This place. Ordered a chicken tikka to take out. Mean portion of overcooked chicken (5 small pieces) in a container with 3 slices of fried onion, 2 lettuce leaves and a wedge of lemon (that was the salad). Really poor. And as for microwaving rice in a plastic bag / there needs to be a law against this practice. Avoid

Dreadful service. Clearly they forgot my order, then when reminded, didn't even apologise. Took them exactly 2 hours from order to delivery. I'm a regular customer in the restaurant so know what to expect. My garlic naan was cold and soggy on arrival. Batter on the pakora was so soggy it was falling off. Cinnamon, you may not care, but you have lost our business.

Been a regular here for years but not now. Food was very late, no apology and quality was very poor. Food was soggy with batter falling off and naan bread soggy and cold.

Visiting family that have just moved to the area and got a take away. Food was amazing! They have now made it their local go-to place.

I live 2 miles away and it's my go to place for Indian food.if I lived 20 miles away, I'd still go out of my way for this food. The nann bread is never good however. It's always a bit dry and kind of small. If the nann bread was exceptional, this place would deserve a michelin star .

If you are a fan of Indian food you have to visit this place. Was excellent. Haven't been for a while, but portions are excellent. Everything ordered was delicious. Server made recommendation to reduce what we had ordered. Glad we listened to him, although we did leave with enough for lunch tomorrow. No early dinner deal available, so ordered from main menu so bit more than we normally pay but worth every penny. Food fresh.

What a find! We decided to try this indian restaurant, slightly apprehensively, the outside appearance is more like a take away than a restaurant. We were welcomed with a big smile and shown to a table and a candle was lit. The food was all freshly prepared and tasted delicious, first class. Perhaps our only minor criticism was the small number of children Tikka pieces served as a main course. So don't focus on the outside appearance, inside it was very comfortable and the food was fab. Definitely worth a visit!

I had a sit in dinner here and it was amazing! Expensive but I felt it was worth it. Expected the same for a take out... How wrong I was. The quality and taste is completely different! I don't know if it's different chefs but I am so disappointed. For £30 I expected the same quality but it's just like any other standard Indian. Do not think I will return which is a shame after I spoke to highly of this restaurant

Wow, I visited it 2 days ago and I tried chicken tikka for the first time it was delicious, tasteful, and highly recommended.

Been using this resturant for years ..not be back..phoned for collection told half hour..no try 1n half hour..told twice whilst at returant five minutes sat there whilst ppl coming and going for collections asked twice what my order was...terrible service. Not be using again.

Terrible meal , chicken pakora tasted days old and re cooked , main meals were average at best , Chicken Tikka dry and mince bhoona tasteless. Have had excellent meals in the past would appear something has change …. Avoid !!!

We only moved to Cambuslang this year and had to do the usual 'test runs'... NONE come even close to Cinnamon. Every meal has been amazing. I thought i had found my 'meal for life' in their Lamb Dum Pukh. A slow cooked piece of magic! However this evening i got brave and tried their Chicken Lal Kurts!!! Wow! It's a bit like having to choose your favourite child!! In all seriousness i 100% reccommend that you try this restaurant - either sit in and/or takeaway. Admittedly we have still to sit in - i promise we will find the time asap. But if their takeaway food is this good then i can't wait to get a table booked. 5 star review without hesitation. Ta!

visit #2 (today) order - mix pakora + lamb karahi + mix grill, garlic nan + rice - enough for 2 people plus enough leftover for husband's lunch tomorrow husband has been in this country exactly one year today.. over the past year I have taken him to the more popular restaurants in Glasgow.. he's like me try something once and if you like it go again.. we have not actually been back to any of those restaurants again so far.. we were here at Cinnamon a few weeks back and husband said that is a very good lamb karahi + biryani and he was full of praise today I insisted we go out for dinner and he chose to come back to Cinnamon which I was not expecting at all based on previous outings food today was equally good (slightly better if being honest).. husband happy (he even complimented the pakora said it was fresh and tasty).. he enjoyed the lamb karahi I mean I did say let's get something different but nope he wanted the same thing again (which was not surprising).. again like last time, it had just the right amount of spice just the way he likes it and if nothing else I suspect he will come back here again for more lamb karahi (and this is from a very picky eater who rarely likes other people's cooking) myself I also enjoyed the meal as a whole and as I eat out regularly I would say this restaurant deserves a 5🌟 review (if I had left a review the last time then probably would have been 5🌟 also but then I hardly ever leave reviews and even then not good 5🌟 ones anyway) one last comment - price of this meal plus the price of the last meal was in total cheaper than any of the meals we had at any of the more popular restaurants previously in fact we went to somewhere a month ago and basically ordered an identical meal to today and it cost nearly 3 times as much as we paid today and the comment I heard from my husband when we had left was well we aren't coming back here again I didn't like the lamb karahi and also the portion was smaller (there was no extra leftover to take home) so he felt everything was overpriced in comparison to the quantity of food total opposite of his experience of Cinnamon (good food very reasonable price nice owner = repeat custom) so other restaurants take note this husband of mine is a very happy customer

Excellent service food is always brilliant

My husband and I have been talking about trying this restaurant for quite a while now. As it was a Thursday night I wasn't expecting that we would have a wait and of course we didn't. We ordered a pint of lager and a glass of wine while we looked at the menu. I personally had no lunch to save my appetite for the meal. I had heard good things about the food. The menu did have one or two things that I had never seen on other menus but we ordered a intriguing Bombay beef poori, deep fried bread with a pulled beef in tangy sweet and sour sauce (for husband)and a vegetarian Punjabi chickpea poori to start for me. They were both lovely although I have had this starter before. I'm on a diet so we both opted for a tandoori main. My husband opted for the mixed grill tandoori which was plentiful and he said was absolutely great. He said that it melted in the mouth and was just the right amount of spice. I went for something that I would never normally choose and opted for the tandoori salmon. I got 2 salmon fillets which had been blackened on skin side and a lovely spice rub applied. My meal was a revelation and came with boiled rice as I had requested. The separate sauce was hard to identify the actual spices but was happy just to put a little on my rice otherwise the meal would have been a little dry. We shared a plain naan bread. Overall I thought it was a well made, great tasting meal and we will return. So thought it was very reasonable for 2 drinks, starters, mains and 1 side because it came to £42.80p. The service was very good and a pleasant atmosphere in okay surroundings. The music went from disco to Motown soul, so right up my street. We will be back.👍

I ordered a takeaway from just eat it took About an hour and a half to arrive. It was not overly warm. I must say it’s the worst peshwari Nan I’ve ever had I’m my life. I ordered a chicken Bhuna hard to muck that up you would think but it had a very runny sauce and the chicken was rubbery like it had been in the freezer for 6 months. My husband ordered a staff chicken curry as he likes spicy food the bhuna and staff curry were difficult to distinguish and they had not written on the cartons which was which my husband was disappointed as Bhuna is mild and staff is supposed to be hot. What a waste of money I left most of mine and was left hungry!

We went to cinnamon for a quiet sunday evening meal our first chance since lockdown. My partner arrived before me and was seated at a table near the door next to a party of twelve who had obviously been on it all day. The food was good service ok but couldn't have a conversation for the racket coming from the party. When I complained after our meal the manager knocked a fiver off a sixty six pound bill A FIVER...upon refusing to pay anything they reduced the bill by 20% still poor. They would not listen to our complaint. I've used cinnamon many times but dont think we'll be back in a hurry very disappointed...

Cinnamon club came recommended and we had to visit. What a find, mannerly staff, good atmosphere then the food..... very high quality and full of flavour.... modestly priced .... Well done and thank you for a lovely evening

Fantastic food at this gem of a place. Large part of 10 all different curries and sharing. All the starters well nailed on and fast service. We just got all the curries put in the middle all were very very tasty and the set meal price of around £17 for a 5 course including desert and coffee is oustanding. Better book as it is busy

After three occasions of food being delivered late as well as incorrect dishes provided with no apology or redelivery offered. I felt my only option was to post an informative review of this restaurant for others to avoid this establishment and instead order with professional takeaways in Cambuslang! Each time our order was late/incorrect we would phone to be met with unhelpful staff, who fail to grasp even the basics of customer service! Very rude staff who fail to deal with complaints which included cutting off the phone on several occasions, when our order was missing key curries, there was no apology nor an option to get these delivered to the house. The food is nice, however it’s not worth a 2 hour wait or the likely delivery with missing curries. It’s appalling customer service and attitude of staff has meant I will not be using this restaurant again. I highly recommend you use another Indian restaurant in the area

Tonight we ordered like we usually do and it took two hours for delivery. I knew it would have been very busy and took that into account. When the food came the delivery driver spilled our order from the bag onto the street none of the food actually came out of the container but all the sauces had spilled in the bag over everything. Item missing from order so telephoned them to advise and to also tell them about their delivery driver dropping the containers. They offered a refund and the missing food which was fine for all the hassle. We did not receive any refund but instead got a small tub left at the doorstep with two like warm pieces of chicken in a tub. Not acceptable at all no apology from the driver either. Very disappointed and will not be ordering again.

I can not recommend Cinnamon highly enough. The team are so very friendly, the food is unbelievably tasty and service is excellent. I have found Cinnamon to be so consistent in their delivery of each order I have placed. I totally understand that from time to time, due to how busy the place can get, my order may take an extra few minutes to come through. I always collect my orders, due to living outside their usual delivery area but the service and food make the short drive so worthwhile. It’s location and easy access from almost anywhere in the east and south of Glasgow should include it in your go to place to enjoy this experience.

We have been ordering takeaways for a long time, and they have always been good. Recently it has slowly been going downhill. Tonight our order was really not very nice, chicken chat was soggy bit disgusting. Chicken pakora was tough, not very nice . We ordered bhoona it was very average. Very disappointing, won’t be back. Now goin* to have to look for a new takeaway restaurant.sorry.

Would be higher but when ordered takeaway was told 1hr. After an hour went to pick up. Told it will be 15 minutes. Waited outside for a further 50 minutes (in rain) until I was handed my takeaway. Food lovely but service poor at weekend.

Food is always top quality and reasonably priced

We have used this restaurant before and thought it was ok. The fact the restaurant is delivering during the lockdown was ideal. Sadly the food was very greasy, now I know curry’s can be greasy but both the madras and the korma were swimming in grease. We had both opted for chicken tikka which costs an additional £1.50 per meal, with each having 5 small bit of chicken in each meal the rest was greasy sauce. The chicken tikka barely tasted like it was tikka. Anyway we did get a curry even if it wasn’t a very good one. Delivery increase from the original time given of 45 min to 1hr 25min which given the situation we are all in isn’t too bad. Increased score to 2 out of 5 only because they are delivering during lockdown!

Will never give this restaurant money again purely based on their non existent customer service! Placed an order on their website tonight at 7pm for delivery (website states 45 min delivery time) & was still waiting over an hour later, thought this was understandable given that many takeaways are closed due to the circumstances. Tried to call on several occasions just for an update on delivery time & the line was engaged, finally got through an hour & 20 mins after the order was placed. Was told that the order hadn’t been placed & it was actually a 2 hour wait for delivery (maybe the website should be updated to allow people to decide at the point of ordering whether they’re prepared to wait this length of time?!) but they could push the order through for delivery in 40 mins! Asked to cancel the order & was told they don’t authorise the payments so it would be refunded in 3-5 working days. Absolute shambles! Have to say have ordered here on previous occasions & waited upwards of 45 mins for collection despite being told 15-20 mins (obviously they have no concept of time) But the best visit I have had to Cinnamon yet has to be my stepdads birthday meal last September (didn’t write a review then because every restaurant makes mistakes & gave them the benefit of the doubt at the time however in hindsight it’s clear it‘s just their standard level of service!) 4 of us went for dinner not long after they had opened meaning we were the only ones in the restaurant. Placed our orders & received starters, so far so good! Plates cleared awaiting mains ... these were brought out & the waiter tipped a full plate of rice all over my boyfriend, right down his t-shirt, jeans, all over his shoes & the floor. As I say mistakes happen but there was not even an apology. Had we not been out for a special occasion we would made have made more of a fuss about this at the time but as we were laughing hysterically at the table the restaurant must have mistaken this for acceptable service. When we received the bill there wasn’t even a deduction for this which would have been the right thing to do by way of an apology. We left & have avoided the place until tonight which was the final straw. The food is average at best & certainly not good enough to warrant putting up with this level of service.

Had another cracking meal last night sitting in. Accommodated us at the last minute even although they had a table of 12 in. A few changes have been made to the menu since last been. Carafe of house wine £14 great value & decent. Everything from the spiced onions, my wife’s tikka were tasty & fresh. The star of the show was the staff lamb curry. It was amazing. Only negative was that my chaat was pretty cold. Must have been sitting waiting too long on my wife’s starter getting cooked. Will definitely be my go to Indian restaurant from now on

Always wanted to try here.Tried tonight, ordered fried rice and chicken breast korma as I can’t handle anything too spicy. The korma was mainly sauce with about 5 or 6 pieces of chicken but unlike any other ceylonese korma this was spicy. The fried rice was so spicy I could not eat it! Even my wife who had chicken tikka masala and can eat hot food found the super spicy rice inedible. Huge disappointment. You can expect a different level of spice between restaurants but spicy korma and spicy rice ruined the meal and just isn’t what you’d expect. Almost all the meals went in the bin. Very disappointed won’t try again.

Saturday night and the need for green chilli was strong. We fancied somewhere new and were heading elsewhere until our daughter joined us and we decided to visit somewhere near her and she said Cinnamon came recommended. All I can say is "thanks for the recommendation, this was devine".Popadoms for the three of us were good and a good helping of onions and three other sauces came with it. We then shared vegetable pakora and chick pea poori. The pakora was traditional old style i.e. jaggy and the poori was devoured and enjoyed by all. It contained a delightful curry sauce which whet the taste buds for the main event.My wife went for Korma, her safety dish, while my daughter and I opted for the Lamb staff curry. The lamb was from the bone (no bone in the dish) and was so tender it melted in the mouth. However, the real delight was the sauce which was a great consistancy and zinged with green chilli, didn't stop me popping in a few more mind from my chooped chilli side dish.The chapatis was great and spooned up the sauce, but next time I'll probably take two as with no rice ordered, another one would have been great.This was a real find and I'll definately come back even although it's circa 40 mins drive for us, yes, it was that good.Great food and at under £20 a head including drinks, was more than value for money.If you go, check out the murals on the back walls. We spent quite a lot of time enjoying the India meets Scotland theme.

Awful food on Saturday night pakora was soggy more like a reheat chips were awful and also soggy with a weird after taste, ordered my son a chicken Maryland 2 tiny pieces of chicken where is the sausage and ham you get at other Indians? , £33 most of it went in the bin even the lamb jaipuri wasnt that great. Used to be my favourite Indians

We popped in last week for a last minute meal and we weren't disappointed.The restaurant was very busy with a good atmosphere, very attentive staff and great service.The food was first class, Chicken Dansac was awesome and I have eaten in alot of curry houses in and around Glasgow!! The pints of Cobra were also awesome!Finally,the waiters noticed my fiancee is pregnant and as we left they wished us luck with the baby and hoped to see us again soon.A hidden gem of a restaurant and we will defo be back guys, thanks so much.Great food, drinks and well mannered genuine staff.

Fourteen of us went here to finish off what was the most incredible weekend ever, it was my daughter’s wedding the day before and we weren’t disappointed with the Cinnamon as usual. Fabulous food, great service and a super ambiance. And as ever Raju looked after us with his normal expertise as did the other staff.

Made an order told 50mins for pick up which seems ridiculous. Ordered a portion of chips which were all soggy in a box which wasnt even full literally a handful of chips in the box. Opened the Korma curry and 5 pieces of chicken in it the rest was sauce. Will not be using again.

Excellent food, great service, all in all good for an Indian sit down or takeaway. PAkoras are all great, loads of choice on all the main courses.

Been coming for a few years now, and food has always been top notch. But have now noticed portions are really small. I usually have lamb, and if you get more than 4 pieces of meat, you're doing well - and that's sit-in and takeaway. Go elsewhere now. ☹

We collect a takeaway from here every couple of weeks. The staff are always lovely, food is perfect everytime.

My husband and I visited here yesterday evening (4/7/19)after a lengthy discussion because there are so few sit in indian restaurants in our area.

After 8 years of eating at this gem of a curry house we are moving away. We will really miss it’s laidback, warm, friendly and, well, respectful, atmosphere but most of all the stunning award winning food. This place just has integrity, you can see, smell and taste the fresh spices and it’s always worth waiting for their delicious, freshly prepared dishes. Have never had a better curry in Scotland and i’ve had a few.

Sitting in this place just now, ordered carry out over phone an hour ago, told it would be 30 mins been sitting here for 30 mins waiting for it. That’s a total of 1 hour to get a carry out. Ridiculous

Chicken korma and staff curry. Staff curry is fantastic tasty curry and would highly recommend this place! Great local restaurant.
