Spice House in Tonbridge and Malling

Ordered food @ 19:30,didn’t arrive until 22:30 they took three hours. When I call them they said that driver is on the way later again call twice but same reply then i ask them what you mean then they told driver just left with food 10 minutes before it’s really fed up guys please don’t order food from this restaurant….!!Will never use this restaurant again this is the first and final order, awful service and horrible experience also at the time of delivery food the food was leaked I ordered chicken curry and biriyani when I get the food it was full messed …! What an utter nonsense is this???Ridiculous experience which I never had before for ordering the food.

On 2 occasions now its taken 3 hours to receive the order. When chasing the order up on the phone a very rude guy mumbled some rubbish then hung up on me. Never use again and seeking a refund from JustEat

Very nice rice and tasty curries, they didn’t deliver my rice as there was a problem with ordering online, it was completely missed, so will call and order next time. Also reasonably priced so as long as it stays that way will be using as my go to curry house.

They confirmed my order via email as always. I'd decided to walk round at the given time and pay on collection. A little while later I had 4 calls from a Newport area code (Wales!?) so I ignored it. After the 4th call they left a voicemail saying my order was cancelled. No reason given. I called the 01622 number on their website and asked why my order was cancelled and the guy wasn't very helpful. Maybe it's new owners who knows but save yourself the hassle and money, get your takeaway elsewhere.

Situated inside bricklayers arms at new Hythe, ideal when ordering food as you can have a drink while you wait. First time takeaway from here and did not disappoint. Reasonable prices and plentiful, had to wait about 35 mins but worth the wait and it was Friday Eve so expected and as I said could have a drink while we waited

I just wish I had read the reviews before I ordered I expect slow service and cold food on a Saturday when they are run off there feet not on a Monday when I order online even before they open only ate a bit of the free bit which was poppadoms and they were so salty I left everything else . If you can't get a poppadom right there is no hope

Had to wait over hour and half to deliver my food witch was late then when it arrived the order was rong so I rung them up and got told what do you wont me todo as were really busy I asked for it to be collected and refunded witch he refused and hung up so won't be going back

Ordered three times order been wrong or late. Its a shame as its my local but last time I told them I waited 1hr 20mins before so please make an effort. This time they was on time however...gave me someone else order so I had to wait again..

Rubbish. After waiting an hour and half decided to ring only to be told they didn't have my order. Was asked how I placed the order. This was on there own website and I received a confirmation email with a order number. Only decided to use this takeaway as they wanted to follow me on Instagram today and there local. Will not bother ever again

Over the last few weeks we have used this Indian takeaway and we have not been disappointed, not only was the food excellent but they are very reasonably priced, we’ll be regulars from now.

Awful. Used these guys for years. Twice in the last week, it's been dreadful. Late, half of it cold, meat was simply gristle and fat. Restaurant don't give a toss, simply offered to send another meal - errm no thanks...blamed Just Eat....for the delay maybe, not the poor quality of the food. Don't touch them with a barge pole.

When we got there forgot the order and the food was tasteless and cold. Not just because of the delay was really bad my advise never order from here ........awful and also cold food.

Quite possibly the worst Indian I’ve ever had. Chicken tikka for starter was an absolutely tiny portion and certainly did not deliver on flavour. Ordered the chicken vindaloo for my main and found it to be totally inedible - it had TONS of chunks of onion!!! I had to double check whether I ordered Onion vindaloo instead - the curry was bland and not at all as spicy as it was meant to be. Steer clear of this place!!

Had a few takeaways from here. Always within the specified time hit and full of flavour. Reviews are mixed on here, but find takeaways are a personal taste. Highly recommend and worth a try

Very impressed despite some of the previous negative reviews. The estimated delivery time was 60 mins but it arrived in 40 by a very nice delivery driver. The food was very tasty and I will definitely order from here again.

I was extremely ill from food delivered from this place. Upon an environmental Health inspection, it transpires they are reheating rice and not reheating sufficiently. I’ve never had food poisoning so bad as that before

Biriyani was so dry,keema nan bread was so small,they put 2 nan breads in the one bag. Worst food I ever had

Awful service, ordered Through Justeat at 19:20 delivery didn’t arrive at all. Asked Justeat for an update at 20:40, retimed to 21:40. Attempted to call Spice 20+ times constantly engaged. 22:30 still no delivery of food. Eventually after 22:30 managed to get through on the phone to a rude individual at the restaurant whom was utterly unhelpful and unsympathetic. Requesting full refund, individual on the phone wouldnt/couldn’t do this himself.

nice food to me it was spot on but don't recommend the garlic naan had one but not one bit of garlic or smell of garlic.will use again

Rejected a Just Eat Order, called advised not delivering. If you are not delivering why try to take orders! Will never use again.

Mushroom rice spot on and good size portion. Garlic naan... wow. So fresh and yummy. Bombay aloo and onion bahjis also a good choice with lots of flavour and not greasy at all. Will definitely be ordering from here again.

Glourias fusion of spices cooked to perfection. Mouth watering,saculant and delicious. Home cooked, authentic Indian food. I enjoyed every mouthful, very tasty full of flavour and delicious. I would recommend 100 percent.

Bone in chicken biryani! Disgusting. Spoke to tmbc and received a reply chicken has bones! If I'd choked would their reply be different!!

In the Bricklayers pub great menu and and even better food

Well use to work there just let you no drop food on floor, but instead of throw it away they add back in to people food. Service not very good aswell

Have ordered a takeaway/delivery from here before and it was very nice but rather a long wait (but it was New Year's Eve and they said the delivery would be 1hour+) Fancied a Takaway tonight (Monday) and they said it would be 1 hour delivery but it was fairly early (6:30ish) and we agreed that would be Ok. But food was delivered within 15minutes and was absolutely lovely.

Ridiculously small portions. Had to wait 90 mins in restaurant for food with no explanation as to why. Asked for a small discount to compensate which was refused. I will not be going back.

We ordered a takeaway from this restaurant at 18:07pm, we were given a deliver time of 19:35pm. At 19:45pm we called the restaurant and was told it was out for delivery, we called again at 20:00pm and was told it would be another 15mins. Thankfully we had ordered via Just Eat, so called them and spoke to a very helpful man who apologised and cancelled the order for us. Our money was re-credited within 20mins. We then called the restaurant and told them we had cancelled the order, so would refuse to accept it if the driver ever arrived. Driver finally turned up with the order at 20:35pm - needless to say we refused the order and will not use this restaurant again.

Food was delicious and lots of it. Unfortunately quite a long wait and then one bag of food missing but as soon as we called the rest of the order was despatched and arrived quickly so didn't spoil overall experience. Great value and will order again.

1 Star is being generous going by the service I received. I waited two hours for my order before calling the restaurant to ask where it was, I was then argued with and spoken to very rudely by the staff who told me their website wasn't working and they couldn't see payment or the order, I showed them proof of both. They then informed me the kitchen was closed and that they wouldn't do anything and to call them the next day to sort it. Completely unacceptable service and I would advise anyone looking to order food to go elsewhere. Rude and happy to take money but provide nothing.

We order from here frequently. Last night we called and placed an order for 4 people at 7.30pm. We were told they were busy and it would be over an hour which we accepted. It got to 8.30pm and we accepted as they were busy it would be late. It got to 9pm an we tried calling to find out how long it was be but the line was engaged and when it did finally ring there was no answer. At 10pm we were hungry and grumpy and had to go and pick up a Chinese instead. The curry never arrived. Just called them to find out what happened to our order, they say there was a problem in the kitchen and some delivery driver didn't turn up. Still took orders though and didnt bother to call anyone to let them know they wouldn't be getting their food. Can accept problems occur but can't accept their total disregard for their customers. If we were sitting in a restaurant we wouldn't have been sitting there for 2 and a half hours with no information as to why our food hadn't been served. Won't be ordering from them again.

I ordered my food after a long shift at work at 6:02pm for it to be approximately delivered at 7:20pm. It got to about 7:45 when we phoned the restaurant about our missing food to which they told us it would be about 10-15 mins which we weren’t fine with but accepted. It then got to 9:02pm when we were really annoyed about this and phoned again to find no answer. We then kept trying to call them until 9:14 but every time we called it went straight through to “user busy”. By this time me and my other half were both starving and very angered by this. We then drove down to Spice House to sort it out with them face to face. We walked in and explained our situation to the man behind the desk and he was nothing but rude to us about it. There were 3 other separate customers in there in the exact situation as us. The excuse to the phone not being picked up was because they apparently turned the Just Eat machine off and were taking no orders (I’m guessing that we wouldn’t have got our food if we didn’t go down there)I told the man I wanted a refund and he kept trying to bribe me with a free bottle of coke...after refusing to give me a refund he then tried taking my food away from me which we had to physically retrieve from him. Didn’t get a single apology and neither did any of the other customers in there. I can’t describe the rudeness we encountered and can safely say we will never go back there. I do not recommend this place at all.

We placed our order at 5:50pm. It’s now 8:30pm and it’s not arrived after calling at 7:45 and asking where the hell it is to be told he’s just handed it to the driver. Complete liars and now won’t answer the phone. Partner has given up and walked to them to get our money back.

My daughter ordered takeaway for us Saturday around 6PM via Just Eat, estimated delivery time 7.20PM. Called the restaurant at 8PM for an update was told 10 to 15 minutes it will arrive, a blatant lie.Kept calling around 9PM calls not answered so she and her boyfriend drove down there and had to collect the meal from the rude employee on the counter who really could not care less.3.5 hours and had to collect in person, never using this place again due to the attitude and lies.

It is a shame to write a review despite great food. Spice House are absolutely awful at delivery. It is a lottery if it arrives, wether it is cold. No more orders

We use the spice house regularly for both take away and to eat in the restaurant.

I order a home delivery takeaway, I put the order in at 21.20 and waited what I thought was an accepted 30 minutes since this is only 3 miles from my home (you may wonder why I didn't pick it up but I was worn out after a 12 hour shift)....anyway I rang them to be told it was on its way...22.10 still no food, I rang them again, its on its way....22.30 still no food, it should be there, no it wasnt....at 22.45 the food arrived with a very nice, apologetic young man. I explained that I was not paying the full price as the food was now cold! The young man telephoned his boss and explained this to him, his boss said bring the food back! He took the food away....I was fuming, this was the first and last time I and my friends will ever use them!

Ordered curry last night. I would say that our previous curries (a madras and a bhuna) were the best we'd ever tasted but..... last night's meal was soooo oily - the bag it came in was swimming in oil and we had to literally spoon off loads of oil from the top of each of our dishes. It was very disappointing. My wife asks for a non spicy bhuna (she's lactose intolerant) and said her previous one was full of flavour whereas last night's was just like flavoured gravy. Must depend on the chef I guess but we migjt have to go elsewhere next time.

Ordered at 18.30 rang back at 19.40 They said 5 minutes. 20 minutes later arrived cold. Will not order again from here. The driver even lied about the delivery. NOT GOOD

Lovely food every time. My sons chicken is always nice white meat and they are always happy to make me a special vegetarian meal.
