First time having a take away from Spice Guru and we were very impressed. The food all tasted very fresh and cooked to perfection. Will definitely order from there again

Had a few meals from here last night July 2024. Korai lamb and garlic chilli Balti. Absolutely fabulous, good portions, really flavoursome. Chicken and lamb dishes we had were fantastic, nice and tender lamb and chicken. Garlic naans and Mushroom rice was lovely. One of the best Indians I've had in ages. Reasonable cost as far as an Indian goes. Was ready to pick up at the time stated. Would go back no problems.

Tasteless and probably the most uninspiring curry I've ever had.

Got a takeaway while visiting the area. I eat a lot of curry and have done so all over the world. The flavours these folks have achieved are up there with the best curries I've ever tasted. 100% recommended.

Have had a take out a few times from here and liked it. Last night's was a real disappointment. The prawn curry was fine but both the lamb and chicken were rubbish. They were tasteless as if they hadn't been marinated or cooked very long in their sauce. Won't bother agaun

Very disappointing order. Not at all authentic unless you think sugar and chilli powder are the main flavours of a dansak. Had a better order in the past but this one was bad.

Staying in the Travelodge today. Ordered chicken biryani. May Allah bless everyone who is working there. Best ever chicken biryani I had. Best kind respect service. Do not miss out.

Great service, small portions compared to other Indians around, very greasy. Probably wouldn't recommend.

Absolutely the best Indian food in town. One of the best Indians I've ever eaten from. However they do not take cards. Which is a big deal for me so star marks knocked down. The member of staff had told me to go to the cash point in town and get cash. But both cash points were out of order. He was pleasant and trying to be helpful. I no longer carry cash and all transactions are now by card. You would of thought that all businesses these days would take cards considering that they are trying to phase money out. Parking is a little hit a miss as it is in a side street, however there is a car park within a couple minutes walking distance. To the owner. Please arrange to take cards. Then your 5 stars all the way.

Expensive. Bland. Wrong items. Decided to treat ourselves and ordered 4 starters and 4 mains with Popadoms I must say the price did make us shudder £100 but maybe I’m being naive. Couldn’t believe the volume onion bhajis is come as 4 bhajis. 2 would be enough so if you have money to waste and 2 of your party want OB’s then only order 1. Mixed kebab ok but that’s amount of mango chutney and yogurt sauce was huge. Main meals. 1 meal instead of Keema Bhuna was more like a lamb stew. Apparently they don’t do keema unless it’s in a naan bread. Shame they didn’t tell us this when it was ordered. 1 meal was not a lamb korma so it was returned with apologies from the spice guru as the chef had it wrong. As compensation they gave us another load of popadoms, sauces and lime pickle. Dry rarely write a bad review but sorry Spice Guru I don’t think we’ll be back.

Unfortunately, our recent visit to your restaurant left us unsatisfied. The food did not meet the standards we anticipated, and it's disheartening to see a place representing our nation in this manner.

Family of 12 staying across 3 caravans at local holiday park, we ordered online for 7pm, the £170 order arrived on time, all lovely and hot and everything exactly correct,thank you and well done Spice Guru!

Fantastic thank you. We often have a takeaway and it is always a delight. Delivery is always prompt and they accommodate my husbands ‘no fresh coriander’ request making it very clear on the order. The chicken is always lovely and tender and everything is very flavoursome. Highly recommend.

We have been coming down with extended family to stay at Harlyn Bay for the last 12 years. At first we tried the take aways local to us, but were not impressed. It has only been in the last couple of years that we discovered Spice Guru. Although it’s a half hour drive each way, we find it well worth the drive. Each time we go it has been for at least 10 peoples meals with starters & sides, and each time the order has been correct & thoroughly enjoyed by all. Looking forward to our next visit.

I had the lamb bhuna, and the lamb was tender. The flavours where amazing. I'm from Manchester and we have some of the best curry houses in Briton. This place is right up there. Definitely going back next tine I'm here.

A fantastic find. Such lovely food. Cooked to such a high level it was a delight to eat from here.

Best Indian takeaway. Usually go spicy but had Sagwala Balti instead and it was STUNNNG. Thanks guys perfect as always.

I ordered dinner which costs around £120 and waited 25 minutes.We received yellow rice and gone-off chicken with a container full of grease and oil which was supposed to be our chicken Biryani. As soon as we opened the chicken curry it smelt out of date. We were really disappointed as we waited 25 min and drove 4 , 1/2 miles to a waste of time. We had called the restaurant and honestly reviewed the food, the worker replied with ‘I don’t know what I can do about that because we are closed’ as we proceeded to say we would bring In all the food and asked for they’re name the worker had immediately hung up on us.We had received another call from the chef who was in charge at the time and was extremely loud and was not calm at all we had an extremely long and confusing conversation with him and in the end we had received a much-well apology and we only tried to say that the food was past health and safety rules and was not edible.

I’ve ordered chicken biriyani but I think you gave me oily yellow rice with gone off chicken. We ordered it first time from this restaurant and I can guarantee this will be the last time. We’ve ordered food worth around £130 and it’s all went to the bin. We called the restaurant and the response was terrible.

Not good also too much Hal powder prawns 🍤 taste very horrible

Driving home and making an impulse decision I decided that I'd have chicken dhansak. Having second thoughts on using my usual Indian takeaway in Wadebridge, I decided that I would give Spice Guru a go. So delighted that I did too. Served on time, nice and hot, and such fresh flavours. Service is excellent and I thoroughly recommend it See you again soon.

Be warned they add £5-15 to your order! Depending on where you’re living and how much you won’t ‘notice’. Food very mediocre: chicken gristly, prawns watery. I would avoid.

We're quite fussy when it comes to Curries. We've been coming here for 4 years and their curries are consistently amazing. Well done.

Only take cash. Raj is cheaper and takes card - not sure if the food is better though as we didn't have any cash to try this one.

By far the best Indian take out in Cornwall, The food is delicious, I’ve eaten there twice this week and am really impressed. I ordered a chicken madras and keema rice, and the next time I took away a chicken vindaloo. Both dishes very well balanced, the vindaloo had potato in it which for any hot food lovers is perfect!! Superb ***** +++++ Oh and the staff are very friendly and waiting time is reasonable

Firstly opened my bag of food and there was a small eyelash hair on the lid of my meal, brushed it off and thought eh, its on the outside of the box... got about 2 minutes into eating my food and found another long hair amongst my curry, but from somebody's head. It made me feel gross and put me off my food entirely. It all went in the bin and I made some cup noodles. Solid waste of money spice guru, won't be returning.

Not being local, we were looking for something with a kick. Stumbled across this tucked away carry out. Wonderful, full of flavour, staff were patient. Could have done with a freshen up of the decor where you were waiting. Super food for the price. Highly recommended.

Amazing quality food! Asked for a veg balti with chunky, fresh veg (instead of cheap, frozen veg) and it was incredible. My partner had the chicken tikka madras and loved it. The naans are excellent - all of it was perfect. Best Indian takeaway we’ve had!

We ordered a delivery from the Spice Guru, Wadebridge to a campsite several miles away. Ok it was later than requested but it still arrived hot and we all agreed it was the best Indian takeaway we had tasted for a long time. We will definitely order from them again - top marks from us!

The curry was far too sweet (and we did not have Korma) with very little flavour. The chicken was a strange texture (implying low quality). The naans were quite good but overall was not impressed and feel it was massively overpriced.

Ordered over £100 worth of food and unfortunately I didn't find anything authentic. The naans were sweet, the saag paneer was all cream and no spinach and the mint chutney wasn't mint. Not authentically indian.

First time ordering tonight & was ok. Personally thought it was too pricey for what we ordered. Recommend the onion Bhaji but not the Bombay Potatoes. The curry didn’t have much spice to it but still enjoyable! Overall would order again & do recommend trying :)

I just fancied a curry and ordered a vegetable one from Spice Guru, along with egg rice and veg samosas. It was delivered in around 15 - 20 minutes and it was absolutely delicious! The amount of curry was generous and i couldn't eat it all, saving the rest for breakfast!! Will certainly order from Spice Guru again and look forward to doing so.

Had a takeaway for 5 people here and everything was excellent... Traditionally mild dishes were mild just as they are supposed to be, hot dishes also spot on, breads excellent and everything very tasty. Definitely would go back.

We stayed at Hustyns 4miles away and they where happy to deliver at a cost of £5.00. We ordered 4 meals Nanns and rice. It came on time delivered to our lodge and was still hot. We shared the meal and every part of it was totally delicious and could not be faulted. Highly recommended for both people who like spice or just very toasty well made food. to date one of the best Indian meals I have eaten anywhere. Excellent in every way. Tim

We ordered a takeaway to be delivered, 30 mins after it was due we phoned to check the order had been received - apparently the delivery had been held up but was on the way. It arrived 15 mins later (45 mins late) and was only just warm. There was no apology given during the phone call nor from the delivery guy - I won’t be using them again!

Absolutely banging Curry! Definitely recommend to anyone who appreciates a good tasty Asian dish! Ordered arrived quickly and was still hot.. We will be ordering again soon!

This place gets 4 out of 5 as the food is good and worth 5 stars approximately 80 percent of the time. If you are unlucky to get a bad day it's probably 2 stars.

Well what can I say, if it could give a minus star rating it would be. Ordered food last night at 7.00pm for collection as we were only in the pub opposite, they said it would be 20 minutes. We walked over after 20 minutes, remember there is a pandemic out there. We waited until 8.00pm in a crowded waiting room stilll no food. We asked a few times how long the food would be and were told on every occasion a few minutes. To quote 20 minutes then for it to eventually be over an hour is attrocious, where is the management control over the setting of collection times. We waited in a full waiting room for over 40 minutes. The saddest thing of all was that we could have stayed the pub a little longer had we been told the truth about collection times. The food quite frankly was less than average, the vindaloo sauce lacked any real spice, the onion bhagi was tasteless I am sorry but I would not in anyway recommend this take away. I sincerely hope the management read this review with a view to addressing the issues raised.

Excellent food, freshly prepared. Accept cash only and not sure whether they deliver or not. Jalfrezi had some excellent chillies in it

Great Indian takeaway, really enjoyed the Naga chicken.

Had to pay cash only, was also over charged, I had the korai curry don't recommend! as I'm a vegetarian not a lot of options!! Partner had a very hot chicken tikka jalfrezi which he enjoyed.

Expensive and an overall tasteless Indian. I am happy to pay good money for good food, but this was exceptionaly bad. Sorry but disappointed with this quality and complete lack of taste here.

Worst Indian food i have ever tasted. We asked specifically for bit spicy and what we got was sweetened dishes. We ordered chicken tikka masala and chicken madras, afaik these are spicy dishes, but they make it worst. Ruined our special vacation dinner.

Awful ….ordered chicken Rogan Josh …has to be the worst most bland supposedly curry I have ever had. Absolutely no taste and definitely no spice whatsoever …had meat samosa to start …awful although there was spice amongst the grease…poppadoms were fresh at least probably were last week !! Absolutely awful …never again !

The food was nice and tasty and one of the only few places in Wadebridge that is open late. I arrived late one day and only had a credit card but could not pay because it was to late. Thankfully the people there was so nice and accommodating and helped me out allowing me to take food for my family. They were so helpful so from me they deserve more than 5 stars….. Thank you so much from me (apna) and my family :-).

Its ok. Only take cash but cash machine around the corner. We had 6 different dishes and side dishes and they were all slightly thin in the sauce department. The poppadoms and sauce plate were expensive for what you got.

All the negative reviews do not know what they are talking about, or these people clearly don't eat out much. I'll focus on the positives, thank you very much. I like supporting and giving a chance to local businesses, without the unnecessary reputation staining reviews. They should be given a platform to thrive. This place has excellent food with great service as always. Food is piping hot and fresh. Chef is well trained and this is what I call authentic indian food. Delicious Tandoori naan and curries are to die for. The Biryani is flavoursome and are cooked with a great aroma. After my meal, we met the chef and he is very skilled and down-to-earth. Will be visiting again when in the area. 5/5 Highly recommended.

Every time I visit Cornwall this place is a must go to! Absolutely delicious fresh food and always receive satisfactory service. Will recommend to others that are looking forward to going! Will be visiting again soon!

We have just finished our takeaway food and I had to give them a review. All food was delicious, quality meat and vegetables and so delicate in tastes without knocking your socks off with hot spice.

Travelled from South Wales to Padstow for a week with the family tried out the local Indian takeaway and it was absolutely amazing! Strongly recommended!! Beautiful food xx

I have ordered from here many times and have always loved the food and the delivery service. Tonight I have been left feeling annoyed!Firstly I want to say that the food as always has been lovely, however….we ordered online like we have many times before. The food arrived in good time but was missing a dish. I phoned the takeaway to tell them and the phone operator was less than helpful and stated that all meals were checked and pretty much called me a liar… when I challenged him on this, he hung up…I was not rude and was simply trying to get my dinner. I requested that a refund was arranged and even said I would pop down the next day but this was declined…The missing dish did turn up and the delivery lady was very apologetic. My whole experience was ruined by the phone operator…. This is my moan as the food and delivery service was fantastic.

The Food was poor quality & overpriced . Food was dry and salty we had paid for item that we didn’t receive. Paid £99.80 but when at home and going through the menu and adding up we had paid £14 over the listed menu price

Possibly the worst curry I’ve ever had, and I won’t be going back, madras was most definitely not a madras, no heat and no flavour, the chicken was soooo dry and chewy and barely any sauce to go with it, really dissapointing, been here before and wasn’t impressed but gave it a 2nd go and even worse! Waste of money.

Not a great curry, both dishes the chicken was dry, sauces were week and quite bland. The king prawn pura was hard and the prawns over cooked. The nan and rice were ok.

I could have walked the 1.8 miles there and collected it quicker.I chased the order and was told it "left 5 minutes ago", like the other reviwer, which can't have been true as it arrived 45 minutes later.Awful customer service

Came down to Cornwall for the weekend, found this Indian takeaway, closest I could find to Padstow. Ordered online, collected within 30mins. Lovely friendly young lady behind the counter, and the food was fantastic. Will call in again next year.

All I can say is the food was very well prepared and cooked, succulent chunks of chicken in a flavoursome sauce (chicken Dansak) lovely egg rice and four very tasty onion bahjis, all piping hot.Only slight negative is it’s cash only and during these times card would be safer and easier, but as previous post said there’s numerous cash machines close by.Thank you Spice Guru.

Visiting from the midlands and as we only had 1 day left of our holiday decided to stay for the day at the beginning of The 2nd lockdown to avoid any unnecessary traffic. With not much to do we ordered a take away from Spice Guru which we thoroughly enjoyed. I’m use to a bit of spice but was hotter than I would normally have so perhaps order the next strength down, or just have a pint of milk at hand.Only downside is it’s cash only, and in these times I don’t really carry cash with me. But not a problem the coop is just over the road and as a cash machine.

We were a little unsure about ordering due to some of the reviews but I phoned once to enquire about home delivery and again on order and the staff were very helpful and friendly and for an additional totally worthwhile charge delivered to us well out of there 4 mile radius and arrived piping hot. The food was excellent, really tasty and perfect spiciness, we like it hot. We can't thanks Spice guru enough for a fantastic meal and excellent service.

HORRENDOUS Ordered home delivery online for 6.15 phoned at 7 and told delivery driver left 10 minutes ago should be with us in 5.Phoned again at 7.30 to be told driver had not turned up for work, 2nd lie!Next driver now on way as I refused when asked to collect, 3rd lie!Chased at 8 to be told he was just leaving 4th lie etc etc phoned again at 9 now starving as was my 80 year old parents only to be told by driver “I’m back here because I couldn’t find you, can you collect” finally gave up and told them where to stick it

Tiny take away place. Pre ordered and it was ready for collection. Staff friendly. Good tasty. Lost 2 stars due to being cash only, especially at covid 19 times when card payments are less risky.

If there was a minus star, i would have given that. 1) Food tasted terrible. 2) Before we order, we said if we can eat in sitting area, the owner said yes. We ordered. Then he brought the bag, when we asked again if we can eat here, he said no. 3) all the food went to bin after 1 bite? Because it tasted really awful. 4) Whilst waiting for the food, we heard all the conversations from the kitchen, so annoying, unprofessional, and full of f words t words p words being used. 5) Lastly, we asked fork, and the owner took a old box from bottom which had everything from scissors to pens, and used his hands and left 2 plastic knives to cashier table. We said sorry we cannot take it, then we used our hands to take 2 forks. I think Covid 19 has not visited his shop or he is living in entirely different planet. I have no idea how this guy manage to do business here. Please avoid.

Ordered a take away for 4 people. Drove 20 minutes to collect and when we got home 2 items from the order was missing. One of the meals was supposed to be chicken tikka masala but tasted like a korma coloured red. Very disappointed

My daughter ordered a take away as a surprise after I got home from work, the blond haired girl was rude and sarcastic.My daughter was over charged by £8 and then when we got home the peshwari names were missing another £6. When I rang she reported they would replace it if I came back tonight a 16 mile round trip.Just be wary check your change as they only take cash and no receipts!!Food was lovely but disappointed overall because of service, over charging and two items missing
