Spice Fusion in Maldon

Tried the goat curry & korma chicken. Goat curry tasted OK but tough as he'll with a lot of gristle.I know goat will have a fair bit of bone but meat should be tender. Korma had little taste & looked more like a butter chicken.

Food dear but OK, some of it poor, because they do not serve alcohol they charge a pound for each glass used. Service below par, restaurant needs maintenance, expecially the male toilet. Basically paid £17.00 for one course curry. Will not return.

Terrible food, useless staff. Food took an eternity to arrive and when it did it was hideous. Popadoms didn’t arrive due to ‘staff shortages’ not my problem. Was told I can have a free starter when I go back in.........like that’s going to happen. Worst service and Indian I’ve ever had.

I was passing and asked if open for eat in, the staff said not yet but gave me a menu. I said that's no good this is my last night in Burnham, so without hesitation, they said come in if you are eating alone we can accommodate that. I ordered poppadoms for starter with two tasty dips, I then had the prawn masala with plain pilau rice and a garlic naan bread. The food was freshly cooked, well served and very tasty it made for a memorable last night. Thanks lads for accommodating me with a smile.

To call this Indian food is a disgrace. The worst I have ever tasted and I’ve tried a lot. After being told 4 different stories why our order was suddenly cancelled they delivered it 2 hours late and then the delivery driver left half in the car and had to come back yet again. No apologies. The ‘sauce’ was not liquid. Dry meat. I have no idea what it was and the customer service after at the restaurant was incredibly rude. Do not order from here if you want authentic Indian food.

Food was not to an acceptable standard. We said we would return it, to which we were told they would collect it, which was quicker than the delivery. We were refunded without quibble.

me and my husband visited last Friday having never been before we were truly impressed the food was delicious and the service was superb and to top it all elvis was in the building and serenaded us! only wished we lived nearer as this place would become a regular destination. thank youx

Ordered chicken tandoori, onion bhajis, naan, poppadoms, sag paneer, an aubergine dish, and a creamy chicken curry. It was all so delicious,I was stuffed afterwards! Recommend.

We ate at Mehek on our way home from an afternoon out and found the flavours to be really good and different from the Indian restaurants we're used to. Some unusual dishes with really good flavours. The staff were friendly and we really enjoyed the whole experience. The restaurant looked quite new inside and was quite large.

On impulse I decided to order a takeaway from Mehek. We have never used them and thought to give them a try. Now, their delivery is not the most speedy - waited over 1hr 20 minutes for delivery to arrive, but the driver apologised and advised of discount with our next order! The food smelled very appetising and the portion sizes were generous. The lamb in the Biryani and Rogon Josh was very tender, and the curries were not swimming in sauce - you could see the meat!! Bombay aloo also tasty and potatoes not overcooked. Bahar Chicken was new to us and very acceptable!! Naan breads freshly cooked and the pilau rice was fluffy and not sticky. All in all, we will be making another takeaway order and hopefully they now know where we live!!

Gave this restaurant a try on Saturday evening and on first impressions the place was cold and empty!, should have taken the hint but thought we would go for it as most reviews are good. Anyway only one member of staff out front running back and forth to the phone orders and taking them into the kitchen. Eventually ordered drinks and we had to ask for popadoms as wasn’t offered. After ordering and bearing in mind we are the only customers our food took over an hour to come out. Firstly the rice was missing and so we ended up eating our curry without it as it was getting cold while we waited another 15 mins for the rice to arrive. Food itself was very bland and no flavour. Even as we left there were no other customers which is terrible for a Saturday evening. Shame as we won’t be returning.

I will never eat from here again! On collecting my vegetarian meal got home, everything looked as it should, box labelled paneer, start eating and yes there was some paneer but also a load of chicken which I hadn't realised until eating. When I phoned I was told that I had ordered the paneer and chicken mix which I hadn't and never have! Kept saying it was my fault and that they would do me another. Not eating another now I've got to go and throw this one up! No apology and hung up on me when I said I would be coming round for my money back. Totally disgraceful and rude!

Curry madras was lovely and peshwari nan was amazing yum 😋 I enjoyed the tikka too my partner thought it was too sweet but the sweeter the better it was yummy

Excellent food and very good flavours these guys use more then one or two base Curry’s very distinct flavours and good service. I would recommend.

Whenever we're in Burnham, visiting my mother, we always go to the Mehek for dinner. Previously it's always been pretty good and the service has been excellent. This visit, I'm sorry to say, was very disappointing. The service was slow, and that's being polite, and the food was distinctly average. It was so different to our many previous visits that I asked if the restaurant had changed hands - it hadn't. But things have changed to such an extent that I can only assume the owner has taken their eye off things. Whatever, we probably won't return.

Unplanned take-out. Excellent food-authentically prepared, fresh ingredients, brilliant flavors. Friendly courteous staff. Plus 30% off bill for free home delivery! Highly recommended.

My daughters took my wife and I to Mehek for a Mothers Day lunch.

The food was delicious and the £11.99 deal that they offer is very good value for money. Unfortunately there were only 2 waiters, who were serving tables as well as drinks. Felt sorry for them, they were so rushed off there feet and kept apologising - but we could see they were over stretched. There was a problem with our bill which I am hoping will get sorted out. Has not put me off going back,

We are quite particular about where we eat and had another Indian local takeaway as a regular.

Went there to visit some family, was hungry ended up going to Mahek. We tried the king prawn puree starters which was very tasty for mains we had king prawn nagaria & pathia, both dishes were mouthwatering lovely.

I don't know what is going on with place as spice fusion it was s lovely place to enjoy a meal but now there seems to be older teenagers outside making loads of noise treating the place like a youth club leaving rubbish every where not a place we will bother going to one of the waiters seems to be encouraging them for some reason but none of them seem to buy any food

No verás un menú en el exterior, pero fui de todos modos como la mayoría de los menús de restaurante Indio/Bangladesh son generalmente similares en variedad y precio.

Hemos ido a este restaurante un par de veces y hemos disfrutado de cada visita. La comida es deliciosa y el servicio siempre ha sido bueno. También hemos tenido de comida para llevar. No puede criticar, lo recomiendo!

Para comenzar con una mesa reservada pensando que todavía era spice fusión. Le pregunté si podía usar una tarjeta de sabor el viernes por la noche me dijeron bien, no mencionar ahora un nuevo restaurante. La comida era buena muy sabroso y algunos platos diferentes a la normal restaurantes indios. El servicio era terrible, teniendo en cuenta que había sólo 7 personas 3 mesas toda la noche. No nos preguntaron si queríamos más bebidas y finalmente después de esperar las edades tuvimos que pedir el menú de postres de los cuales la mitad no tienen. No hay oferta de café. Cuando nos dieron la factura me dijeron que se había descontado el 50% que era la oferta tastecard. (Pero no por ser miembro no necesito mi tarjeta) sin embargo, se había hecho este nuestro menú de 2 platos para 3 personas con 2 copas de vino y una coca-cola habría sido 102 libras. 96! ! ! !

La mejor comida india que he probado, recomiendo encarecidamente probar mehek. Personal encantador y amable de una atomsphree. Me an. Mis amigos tenían una velada encantadora.

This review is for a takeaway meal which I collected.Mehek's website offers the facility to order online. This was a quick and simple process - my only gripe is that I had to wait until the restaurant to open before I could order - it would be better to be able to place a pre-order during the day - the business would benefit from immediate orders on opening, and the client would benefit from being able to order at any time of the day.With many Indian alternatives in Burnham, reviews tend to be a comparison with other businesses and as this was our 1st time at Mehek - this is what we did.Anyway, the order process was quick and simple, although we didn't get the promised 'acknowledgement' that the order was received, so spent about 25 minutes not knowing whether our order was being worked on - in the end I phoned and asked to be told it would be ready in 5 minutes - panic stations!The food - the onion bhaji's were crisp and dry with none of the stodgy soggy insides experienced elsewhere. The Keema Nan was great, the chili Nan too hot for my wife to eat so was thrown away.Mushroom rice fluffy and tasty, vegetable rice also fluffy and tasty with many identifiable vegetables (unlike mushy stuff found elsewhere). My chicken Dhansak was lovely, although bordering on being a little too sweet and a little too hot - either way I enjoyed it immensely.My wife's chicken Madras was too hot for her and even with adding hot water it remained hot but lost flavour (other than hot spice flavour). This dish was probably the only disappointing dish - it's a delicate balance to have something tasting hot AND tasty.The Bombay potatoes were just great - can't fault them at all, although a larger portion would have been appreciated.Portion sizes were ok. Our usual takeaway only uses the long foil trays and fills them, so value for money with THAT one can't be faulted - with Mehek there was 'enough' of each item and there was a 40% discount for orders over £25, so although the portion sizes were much smaller, the overall value for money equalled our 'usual'. Would we use them again? Well the menu choice alone is fantastic and a good reason to try other dishes. My wife tends to 'stick' to Madras, so that may be the deciding factor to remain loyal to our usual one, but if I can convince her to try something new we will be back!The Staff seemed friendly from my brief visit when picking up my order (they also deliver). The restaurant itself is very contemporary and would make for a nice evening out.

Best Indian food we have eaten and we eat a lot! Do experiment from the Chef's recommendations and don't just order your usual as they were fabulous. Completely fresh spicing and not just pity over sauce. Also a proper wine list. Worth driving from Maldon.

Love the price and the service but the food selection is something else along with the flavours.... previously Spice Fusion but now owned by a very nice guy, friendly staff lovely surroundings, what's not to like?

could not choose a starter as on menu have a big variety so i had sheek kebab and chicken shaslik which was amazing , my partner had chicken tandoori and she said it was the best she tasted.as mains we had a lamb jalfrezi which i never tasted lamb so tender in a curry and had butter chicken tikka which was very different . pure natural ingredients compliment with fine spices and taste . keep it up and please stock up on bottled diet coke if you want me as a regular certainly will visit again soon

Indian spices are so often poorly combined so their individual characters are lost or they become overwhelming. At mehek we had an exquisite meal in which every flavour worked to great effect.we belive mehek is one of a small number of Indian restaurants that offers the diner a little something extra.The menu has a varied selection of Traditional Indian and contemporary dishes.We finished with a delicious mango sorbet and coconut ice cream with a heart of meringue.The whole meal felt a real treat and the staff were friendly and courteous. Definitely a meal to remember.

I was wary at first, using 'Just Eat' and Spice Fusion, as we always had takeaway from another local Indian Restaurant.But wow, did we get a surprise. First of all, an absolute doddle to order on line. Then the discount was applied, which worked out at £20 for two starters, two mains, Pilau rice, and two plain naans. Very reasonable indeed.I had the Kahari, and my Wife had the Rogan. Both were delicious, really tasty, piping hot, lovely meat, in fact, faultless, and this is coming from a Brummie, so I know my curries. Just enough spice in both dishes and hardly any surplus oil/ghee at all, fantastic.Interestingly, the rice was really nice and the naan bread tasted like you get when you visit a restaurant, as it was not all wet and sweaty in the foil bags like you usually get in a takeaway.Starters were also nice, but if I was to be totally critical, as said I am a Brummie, the Sheek Kebab could have been cooked a little more.But would 100% use just eat again (whether you get the discount all the time, or just first time users, not sure) and definitely have take away or go down and eat i at Spice Fusion as a treat.Well done guys, top notch!!!

Ate here again and was not disappointed. The Sunday Buffet is not served as help yourself from a limited selection as one would expect but diners are given a shortened menu from which to choose. The food is then cooked fresh and is absolutely beautiful. You can eat as many starters, mains and sides as you want. The service was very good and we will definitely visit again soon.

This restaurant is always spot on! I have tried lots of different curries from the menu, and they are always delicious. I would recommend the chicken Dopiaza if you like a mild curry, and for a starter the Prawn Puri is amazing!! The staff are also really friendly and helpful!

Although the service was somewhat slow, we were not in a hurry so was not a problem gave us girls time to chat!!! When the food arrived it was very nice and flavoursome. Half price food on a Thursday, well worth a visit.

Staff very pleasant and food was tasty. Reasonably priced . Nice decor . Portions was just enough and they can adapt some dishes to preference for example not too spicy or creamy. The chef even made a paratha especially for me.

Ate here on Mothers Day in a party of twelve. Chose the Buffet Menu where you can select as many starters and mains as you can eat from a reduced menu. The service was extremely slow perhaps due to there being one other large family party in the restaurant at the same time and only two waiting staff. The starters were served and were very good. The mains arrived an hour later and we had to wait quite some time for rice. The food itself was very good and the review would have been very good had the service been faster.

Greeted by friendly staff and made to feel very welcome. Tables had been given a valentines theme. Poppadoms to start were warm and crispy. The mains were amazing but then they should be after an hours wait . Totally stuffed so no desert just coffees and a complimentary glass of baileys. Would have been a 5 score but it appears there is no door on the gents toilet with full view of the urinals. Not pleasant.

The food is absolutely fantastic, but service is abysmally slow. Don't expect to pass the time waitng enjoying a drink, because drinks are also served slowly, and expensive!

Attended here with friends and found the staff to be very friendly, the restaurant to be very nicely furnished and we were served a fantastic meal. There was an excellent choice of food on the menu. All in all a great evening out.

My boyfriend and I will always use Spice Fusion whether it be for takeaway or a sit-down meal. The staff are always friendly and they do everything they can to make you feel welcome.The food is absolutely amazing and when compared with other indian restaurants in Burnham, they are definitely the cheapest!Spice Fusion also offer an all-you-can-eat buffet on a Sunday which we have been to a couple of times and once again, it is lovely.If you're looking for decent, reasonably priced food with lots of choice and a friendly atmosphere, then this is definitely the place to go!

Don't often eat Indian food, as it doesn't usually agree with my wife.On this occasion, ordered takeaway and both of us were very impressed - food was really good quality, and very tasty.Delivery was a little slow, however - expected 50 minutes, took 1h 10 and that was on a Wed evening

Always order takeaway from here, very good and very reasonable!! There are however some inconsistencies, if you order one dish one week it turns out completely different the next but always very yummy! Would definitely recommend and would like to eat in one day soon!

Bought a VIP card from a phone seller. This was our first meal at SF for sometime. We were pleasantly surprised at the excellent food and the price.

Had to wait over 2 hours for my starter , appalling portions. Did not wait for main course - I left.

Had previously enjoyed eating here, sadly they now give priority to the take way service, leaving the restaurant customers waiting. Tonight after two hours we gave up and left without eating. Other tables followed suit. They lost at least 16 customers at one time. Be warned you will have a long wait if you visit, we will not be visiting again.

... we moved to Burnham on Crouch some 18 months ago, and regrettably are about to move again. Yesterday we found Spice Fusion which in all the time we have lived here have thought it only a 'take away'. Yesterday we discovered that it was the best Indian restaurant in BoC, possibly the best Indian restaurant in the Dengie area! The ambiance was good, the food fantastic, the wines not overpriced and I have to say we had the very best lime pickle EVER! We really cannot believe our bad luck in not discovering this jewel earlier, but are so pleased to have done so now. We see a number of visits happening before we move in the early new year. If you visit this restaurant you will NOT be disappointed!

Once again a lovely evening at this restaurant for a friends birthday. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they go out of their way to make sure you have an enjoyable evening. Food is first class and great value for money. Wine is not silly prices either. Highly recommend.

We had a really tasty takeaway from this restaurant, the mixed grill was plentiful and very tasty as were the curries, delivery was ok, they did have trouble finding us and even though we gave our telephone number they didn't call to say they couldn't find us so we had to ring to chase them up however we would recommend it and very good value for money.

I came home from holiday on Saturday morning and felt to tiered to cook so my daughter bought us a take away from here and oh wow I loved every mouthful we had such a wonderful made very special by a fantastic meal my chicken tikka biryarny was the best my daughter had rogan and my son a korma both with rice and nan all were fantastic thank you so much spice fusion I recommend you for eat in and takeaway you are the best by far

Enjoyed a lovely meal with good service and friendly staff. The birthday cake for my wife was a very nice surprise.

Arranged a private booking for 54 people for their sunday buffet. The service was good as was the food privided. Enjoyeed a long sunday meal with everyone attending well satified. manager and staff very helpfull, and attended to everyone requirements. Will book again and recomend that anyone that has a charity function or private function to give then a go.Very Good

I am reviewing from Spice Fusion as I type, as Burnham residents we love coming here for the great food in a lovely restaurant. Our waiters Maz & Monz are so attentive as always.

I’ve been to this restaurant several times and each time I’ve been impressed. The food is tasty and there’s a good selection. The chef is obviously kept busy because the server brings out new dishes frequently, and there’s starters, mains and deserts all on rotation. Like many people around here, I’ve eaten approximately twenty million curries over the last couple of decades, so I’ve got a decent idea of what the benchmark for “good curry” is. The food served here is definitely good. The price is excellent for what you get. I think that right now this restaurant is the best value restaurant in Burnham and the surrounding area. If you’re looking for a meal for a great price, this is the place. . Finally, but importantly, the service is good. The staff appear to be a good bunch of guys, who are friendly and happy to help with whatever. There’s no hanging about. Everything is done promptly and smoothly. They know how to run a restaurant well, which is one of those important things that you don’t really notice when it’s done properly but that’s really obvious when it’s not. Overall, the restaurant is very deserving of five stars. I’ll be going back regularly. If you’ve not been there yet, it’s definitely worth a try.

Impromptu, last minute , decision to eat out. Glad we decided on eating at Spice Fusion All 3 of us like a good Indian meal & this place certainly didn't disappoint From start to finish excellent, friendly, non intrusive service Prompt, knowledgable & willing to give us the best. Food definatley had the ' WOW ' factor Not just about the taste but the aromas were amazing Great menu choice A definite to re-visit Must say I would recommend to pre book !!!

This is not my first visit and for good reason. I would always put Spice Fusiom on top of my list of eateries in Burnham. Great service and welcome, the staff are attentive but also unobtrusive. Food choice is varied and always delightful to look at and eat. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys Asian cuisine.:)

We have eaten here a few times and always really enjoyed the food and service. We are made to feel most welcome and the menu is very resonably priced for the high quality food.Best Indian resturaunt for miles in my opinion

After our favourite Indian has recently gone downhill we were looking for another one that served a hot and spicy treat. Very reasonable price and lovely spicy and hot lamb naga and chicken tikka madras. Very polite too.

The decor is rather bland, but the staff are pleasant and helpful and the food is good. Empty when we went at 10 on a Saturday night, which is surprising.Useful public carpark very nearby: there is no parking on the road.

Ordered a take away twice from here and were told to expect a delivery time of 40minutes over an hour and a half later still waiting, call to be told its on its way, half an hour later no delivery no apology no explanation other than they're 'busy' complete joke avoid at all costs!!

I recently went to spice fusion (not through choice - the better Indian down the road was closed). The food was nice to begin with. However my partner and I were extremely put off when we discovered a short black hair in my korma.I told the waiter who muttered and wandered off to the kitchen, he came back and apologised.I assumed at the end of the meal we would've had some kind of discount but there wasnt and when we brought up the fact there was a hair in the food he shrugged it off and asked us to pay the full amount.Terrible customer service - we will be sticking to the preferred Indian in future!

We were treated as if we were the only diners in the restaurant. The staff were attentive and discreet. I have now realised there is much more to Indian food than curry. The chefs cooked specialities not even on the menu, it really was an experience never to be forgotten. I am now planning to take everyone I know there as this secret little restaurant is a gem that must be shared .

I have been a regular since Spice Fusion emerged from the Chinese predecessor. Just the Indian Burnham needed and remains so

If you haven't tried this restaurant then you are missing out ! The welcome from the waiters is lovely,they are friendly,pleasant and utterly professional.The restaurant itself is nicely decorated,and surprisingly spacious,There is a large area to the rear,where it would be very nice for large groups as it is a little more private than the front of the restaurant.They serve a mean pint of Cobra,and the poppadoms are always fresh and crispy with fresh onion salad and dips,The menu is extensive with some unusual dishes,not often seen in other Indian restaurants.If you like garlic,then i would thoroughly recommend the Chicken(or lamb) garlic chili Bahar.It is delicious !! We are huge Indian food fans,and have eaten in many many Indian restaurants,and this is definitely one of the best.Do try it,you won't be disappointed.

i have eaten in most Indian restaurants in burnham on crouch. but after i went spice fusion i couldn't go anywhere else. there service is simply the best and the food you wont be able to stop eating. i have tried most of the exclusive dishes and they are all delis!! the chef is excellent he has also cooked of the menu for us. the management is always grateful for you custom and that shows in the help and service they provide. i'll say it again simply the best!!!

We went as a party of six, two local couples and us. It was our first visit here and I must say the food was great, freshly cooked and tasty. Service was friendly and attentive and overall the place had a nice atmosphere. I would definitely return as it's great value.

Having this restaurant on our door step is a real treat. The food is absolutely fantastic coupled with a great service. Its nice to be greeted so warmly and the staff even remember what we all drink. Thursday night is half price night and is always full. Even when there are huge long tables having hen nights etc the atmosphere is still good for families and couples as its a big enough restaurant so as to not feel over powered by larger groups.

Went there for the first time with the missus and WOW! The decor, bar and toilets look great. As for the food, absolutely delicous. If you want REAL, AUTHENTIC indian dishes, this is the place to go. The prices a very cheap conpared to the others in the area.Waiters were really friendly and welcoming. Would recommend to all.

The food and service are second to none and when we visit friends in Burnham we often go for the half price night on a Thursday which makes it fantastic value for money.

Two of our group of four were regulars here and we certainly pleased with their choice. The selection of Indian dishes was excellent, they were all well prepared and very spicy and tasty The service was good and efficient and if we lived in the area it would be one of our favourites too. Highly recommend.

We visited Spice Fusion last night (Thursday) The place was packed as Thursdays is "Half Price" night.We shared Lamb Naga and Chicken Shashlik, rice, sag aloo and a naan bread. The food was great, the lamb was served sizzling hot and was very spicy and absoloutley delicious. The chicken shashlik was also served sizzling hot and was really moist and very tasty. Infact all the food was as good we have tasted anywhere! We had a couple of bottles of Bangla beer with the meal, which in my opinion is the best of the indian beers. The service was prompt and very friendly.The total bill come to just £28 for the two of us, fantastic value and we will be regulars at Spice Fusion on a Thursday night from now on.
