Probably one of the best curries I've had

Easily best indian ever, great service with a great quality of food, i would recommend this 100 times over, and Mo was great, we’ve all said it’s the best service we have had. Thank you so much and everyone… Get down here to try the best curry in the UK..

Best lamb chops in town, hands down! Nice thick sized chops, food and service was banging too! The green spicy chutney is the 1 with the different meats! Ma sha Allah! Allahumma barik! Best chops I've ate in ages! The owners/staff seem down to earth and humble too, good family vibe! Would definitely scope this spot out! 👌

Came here for a Mothers Day lunch earlier today. Food was amazing and was served in a very timely manner. Abdul our waiter recommended a couple of very tasty and flavoursome dishes. We will definitely come here again.

Spice Bazaar have been offering a Mother's Day special menu with a starter, main course, a naan or rice for £15 so went along today with the family. The restaurant was lovely and we were made very welcome. The service and quality of food was second to none and the flavours were exquisite. We all came away full and very content. It has always been a wonderful place for a meal and it still very much is. Thoroughly recommended and open every day of the year as well.

SB never fails to satisfy. Food is top quality and always filling, satisfying and a joy to eat. The restaurant always busy and vibrant and the staff constantly available attentive and professional. I take family of all ages there as often as possible and when its not possible to eat in, we take out and have such a delightful meal with SB food at home! By far the best food in the city!

One word review: Overrated Probably the worst Indian restaurant in Leicester in terms of portion sizes, taste, and value for money. Starters: Not like your usual Indian restaurants (Paddy's, Little Club etc) . Sizzler is well below average. This needs to change so it can be shared rather than for 1 person. Same goes for other starters too. Mains: Well just average. The naans aren't the best. Service: Rushed to order the food, didn't get asked how everything was. Much better Indian restaurants in Leicester elsewhere!!

Replying to the owners reply - First of all you should state the portion sizes on the menu to avoid confusion. And the waiter did not say whether the food was okay. And even if the main is for one person only it's definitely not with the tiny pieces of chicken in the curry. The menu is not very clear.

Great food at reasonable prices, service is always prompt as well. We recently moved house (further away from Spice Bazzar) but we still go there.

They restaurant is currently trialing a locally brewed Indian larger called 'Indian King'. Sharp and light, it does go well with a curry.

Consistently good curries, great service, welcoming atmosphere. Hands down the best chutney tray I’ve ever seen, amazing selection. Recommend their saagwala (works well with paneer) and dansak particularly.

Excellent curry house on the Welford Road in Leicester. Been in a few times, lovely inside, quite bijou downstairs which I personally like, I believe there is seating upstairs but I haven't been up. Abdul and his staff are all great, attentive, chat with you if want but not in your face. The food is fantastic, I've not had a bad dish from Spice Bazzar, always tasty, hot and fresh and not overly expensive either. They also deliver locally too which is handy if you are a lazy so and so like me, add in a bottle of beer from their range if you want and that's delivered too, no over the phone payment or online ordering , cash on delivery. Very highly recommended, infact I must dash as I am about to place an order ! Visit and enjoy or call for a delivery, you wont be disappointed. Cheers. *Update* - still as excellent as ever, top notch food and service !! ** Update - not ordered for a while as was trying to cut back on take away nosh but broke the hiatus last Saturday and ordered a meal. Given a table in the window, felt like goldfish everyone passing by looking in. Food was average not sure the about hype in the press. Ordered Veg karahi, when the order came it was veg korma it was too late to send back after we had taken curry in our plate. It was mentioned at the end when the waiter came to pick up our plates that we were given wrong curry. Albeit the waiter did take the cost of the wrong curry off the bill. Our overall opinion was the food is very average in taste.

So, Leicester has loads of good places to have a curry, and this deffinately is one of them, and up at the top of the list. It's my go to for a take away and I've never been dispointed. Good food, good service at a good price. 👍

Great Indian restaurant on the Welford Road. They have a huge selection of dishes from different regions. Service is friendly and efficient, and the food is excellent. Portions are pretty big. This place was busy so I would recommend booking.

The chicken Jaipur was delicious, the garlic and cheese naan was incredible, this restaurant is my new favourite, I can't stop thinking about how nice it is.. I'm looking forward to taking my family.

Just had THE MOST AMAZING meal in the Spice Bazaar - staff took a lot of time to discuss our requirements and recommended several dishes for my friends & I based on our likes & dislikes - the dishes were made exactly how we wanted them and were amazingly tasty - I had a Veg Naga Peri Peri which was spicy & very tasty - being vegan, he went out of his way to make sure everything was vegan and I can honestly say it was about the best curry I have had - my (non vegan) friends agreed. Also loved the dips for the poppadums - tasted homemade (the lime pickle wasn't as sharp as usual, it had a nice rounded flavour) and there were a few different ones in there, too, which were lovely. Only downside was, because it was so small and full, with a large group in, it was very noisy at times - although a couple of beers in & I think we gave the noisy ones a run for their money! :-) I'll be returning again shortly.

Had such a great time here! The waiter helped me and my guest choose the best main meal that tailored our taste buds. They even kept the drinks flowing, which again was something we requested. They really was attentive and happy to spend time and chat with us, as it's a family run business with a lot of history related to Leicesters great culture from all around Leicestershire. Really nice meal out with some friends from Wigan! Really friendly staff, always have a laugh and food was amazing! A little pricey but there was 6 people! Highly recommend!

The service was great, staff was welcoming and friendly funny. The food was nice, like they give you lot of choice of sauce with the poppadom, and portion are large. Price are reasonable too.

Very surprised with so many great reviews. Very very disappointing food. Bland to say the least. Spinach dish wasn't even like a curry. King prawns inedible. Parathas wrapped in plastic bag and absolutely dreadful soggy mess as a result. Lamb substandard and chewy. One star as the paneer was acceptable.

ordered the BBQ pack for £40. Its so tasty and something different on the bbq! the flavour kept in the meat it was lovely! my partner collected it and said the staff were very friendly. would reccomend the bbq pack!

I was heading to Grimsby chippy but noticed this place full of Indian diners. Ordered the lamb special, chilli paneer and cauliflower bhaji with naans. Absolutely superb. Just remember that it's cash only.

First order last night, so impressed! It was difficult to choose as there are some really unique sounding dishes, I ordered Chicken naryali and aloo gosht, both were generous portions, full of flavour, delicious and hot. The gentleman on the phone was really lovely and helpful, the gentleman who delivered was very smart and polite and early! I highly recommend this restaurant as the staff and food are exceptional. Looking forward to our next order!

Rang up the Spice Bazaar at 18:35 checked in my call log and was advised it would take 40 minutes, I walked into the small restaurant at 07:10 40mins later and was rudely told I was about 15 minutes too early... someone needs to go back to school and learn to calculate. On top of that I was told to hang round upstairs, after another 15 minutes was told I was in the way and to sit down. By the time i had my food it had in fact been an hour, during which i had seen multiple people come and go with their orders. Overall appaulling experience and I will never be returning. I have a had far service elsewhere! 0/10. Continued... as per the reply from said restaurant I am not at all surprised that they are customer blaming, food was 20mins late going off their (timing) system. Poor buismanship to blame a customer rather than apologising and taking on the feedback.

Great little Restaurant. Food was great and waiter tailored a dish for us which turned out to be the best one. Would definitely recommend having a try if you enjoy indian food.

Very unassuming from the outside but WOW the service is great and the food is the best we’ve had since moving to Leicester. It was really busy (Saturday) so recommend you book rather than just turning up

I don’t really like to give 1 star reviews, unless it’s a terrible Uber driver. but this is simply a Warning and Truthful experience at this restaurant.. The 1 start is for the welcoming and smiling staff. We went to dine here for a 40th family member 6 of us. With the good over bad reviews we was certain this was the place to be. Unfortunately the bad reviews couldn’t be nothing more than the truth.. over cooked lamb but still cold inside? Reccomended prawn dish which was over cooked so rubbery was inedible..mixed grill most part was over cooked and could not even cut it through with a knife, Raita looked like it was a bowl of ice cream. Some of the dishes tasted fine and family members ate bits because they felt abit bad for the birthday. my self was so put off I never got to have a meal. We left very disappointed even though we did not make a huge fuss. We will now have to rebook into a place we are for sure we get what we pay for. I hope for the restaurant sake that this is not a everyday service And can fix the problems given by all lower stars.. but as someone who is a fair restaurant critic I would say avoid eating here Until much further improvements and consistency. Thank you.

I had ordered butter chicken and naan. Naan was ok but butter chicken was not at all like butter chicken, it was having more sugar in taste than the gravy.

Food was nice, some of the lamb tikka was chewy. Popadoms are expensive. Curry’s nice and Nan breads were very nice. Keema Rice not so nice. The man at till was emptying pickle till into other pickle trays which I didn’t think was very hygienic. Slight expensive for what we got.

Poor quality food. I already had a feeling this is another non-Indian takeaway serving non-authentic indian cuisine, than from neighbouring countries. Still thought of giving it a try as I live very close to this place and had good reviews. Same story, Red colour added to tandoori chicken and all other dishes to look appetising. Chewy dry non fresh tandoori chicken and heavily coconut powder used in Tikka masala. and most of my British friends not aware of actual indian curry go here. Same story with all these little ‘Authentic Indian takeaways’ who are actually not serving indian cuisine. Sad

Good place to eat and food was ok . Parking can be a bit tricky, the table we had was very cramped and tight together no room to eat as a big part. 1 meal was forgot so had to wait by the time it came out everyone else had almost finished. Toilet was upstairs so not disabled.

I'll just preface this by saying I never leave bad reviews but I was just compelled to comment as we were really disappointed with the food. We ordered from this restaurant last week after hearing that it had won an award as being the best restaurant in Leicester. Craving good asian food we decided to order a selection of things. Unfortunately we were really disappointed with what we got. I am asian and the flavours were not authentic in any way. The butter chicken was syrupy sweet and ive never tasted a butter chicken like it before. It was as if spoonfuls of sugar had been added. The lamb chop buna had almost raw pieces of lamb mixed in, although the curry had good flavour I couldn't stomach eating a curry with meat that wasnt fully cooked. The only decent thing we ordered was the biryani. We were really close to calling back the restaurant but as it was late we decided not to. There is a lot of room for improvement and i'm really sorry but I dont think they deserve the title for best restaurant in Leicester when there are better places you can get a curry in the city.

One of the waiters talked me into having a lamb dish I hadn't initially considered. It was delicious! Would definitely go again.

We always entertain our friends from Northampton for the rugby derby and eat here afterwards. This is the best curry house in Leicester by a country mile. Food and staff superb. They get very busy for a reason so booking recommended. I can only assume the negative reviews are either trolls or sour competitors, ignore and go try!

Consistently the best service and food of any restaurant we have enjoyed in Leicester. Legendary chutney tray! Chef is happy to adapt dishes and tailor to your taste. Atmosphere was cold, lights far too bright. Service nonchalant and blasé, and not a warm welcome at all but once seated the staff were attentive (though don't expect a smile...) Food (despite the promises of fine dining displayed on the window) was mediocre at best; the onion Bhaji was stodgy, the paneer starter dry. The pathia had a nice slow burn but lacked any depth of flavour of other than a whiff of charcoal. From the promises made I had high hopes, but alas it makes me doubt the independence and discretion of the "English Curry Awards". If this were the only place in the city open for food then I would probably eat here again, but all in all sub par. D- ; must try harder.

There really nothing to complain anout at Spice Bazzar. Lovely food. Friendly staff. Convivial atmosphere. You might need to book tho' I recommend prawn on puree and saag paneer. And delivery is easy too

We went last night 6 of us 1st time visitors after eating at many Indian restaurants then recently falling out of love with our favourite one, we have now found this great food and staff can't wait to go back

A great find! Been looking for a good curry house in Leicester for ages..All the ones I've tried lately like Paddy's and Heritage India have gone downhill lately!! But the Spice Bazzar meal and service were both excellent last night...Give it a try and I don't think you'll be disappointed!!
