One of the best Indian meals I have eaten in the uk for many years. Perfectly cooked and presented, and full of flavour. Extensive menu , which is usually a poor sign, but not in this case. I wish they were closer to our home. Very clean, very friendly, very professional. Will definitely return next time am I anywhere nearby.

I have eaten at many curry houses and have very high expectations when it comes to Indian food. I can fairly confidently say that the Indian food served here is the best I have ever eaten in my life.I have only eaten here a handful of times and I am always blown away by the quality of the food - head and shoulders above the rest. Each curry has such a depth of flavour and a distinctive taste to it which is uncommon in many Indian restaurants where the curries all have a similar base and taste quite similar - I cannot possibly recommend a single curry as they are all different and stand out in their own regards. The side dishes are absolutely delicious - Saag Paneer is the best paneer I've ever eaten and the Saag Aloo would please anyone looking for a mild and tasty side. The Peshwari Naan is so fresh and the coconut inside goes with the curry beautifully. The rice is the best I've ever eaten and I remember the owner telling me how the staff would often just eat the rice when there's leftovers, at the end of the day, on its own and I can totally understand why - it is cooked to perfection.The owner is a great host and always makes me feel welcome and the restaurant has a very pleasant interior. The staff and owner are very friendly and really make you feel welcome. He takes his time to welcome every new customer to the restaurant and sometimes even gives demonstrations on how they prepare their spices tableside!The last time I ate here was August 2020 during the Eat Out to Help Out promotion and I feel that even though the food is expensive, it's definitely worth it and you would be very hard pressed to find another Indian restaurant on par with Spice, let alone exceed it. You really do get what you pay for.Overall I 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for the very best Indian food.5 stars.

Having moved in to the area last year we have ordered from Spice many times and never been disappointed by the food or the service we receive! Everyone is so friendly and we are always asked how our last meal was. We certainly wouldn’t fail to recommend to anyone. Thanks Spice!Lee and Aimee

Ordered rom here to still be waiting 2 hours later, i had to drive down to the restaurant in the end and had to wait to be seen as other people were also queuing , the phone was ringing all the time i was there and was never answered (hence the reason they didn't answer to me) I was told that my order had been dispatched 30 minutes ago although this wasn't the case because i was stood in the restaurant waiting for my food. I was then told they couldn't find my order, 5 minutes later i was advised "they had found my food" i said no thank you i would like a refund, i was even questioned by the manager regarding that, do yourself a favour and stay well away from the manager here he isn't a very nice guy when it isn't going his way!

Delighted with Spice. Brilliant friendly service. Cheerful and helpful taking our phone order. Same continued when we arrived to collect. We were warmly welcomed and food was ready exactly when they said it would be. Very generously gave us a free bottle of Coke as we had collected ourselves, and the price was reasonable enough to start with! While we were there other locals arrived and the owner took great interest in their family's well being etc Proper old fashioned service from someone who clearly cares greatly about the quality of his service. Food was delicious including the recommended house special Balichera. Please support this excellent local curry house in these difficult times. They deserve it and you won't be disappointed.

Highly recommend this place! The ambiance is so relaxing and clean and not to mention their Vegan food are so delicious my Husband loved it so much! You’ll must try! their staff are really friendly. We been eating around the place and this place is like no others. Give them 5✨✨✨✨✨

We travelled away for the bank holiday and the curry and service was first class! Highly recommend this place if close to Gerrards Cross, staff are really friendly and make you feel very welcome! 5* in every aspect.

Very good food enjoyed by all three generations in our party. Authentic recipes for all the dishes, with the samosas and bhajis a real treat too. Service was good with all the covid protocols in place. Definitely recommended for the whole family.

We normally visit Zia’s fabulous restaurant twice a month and whenever family visit they always ask to go back to Spice.Due to the lockdown we were really missing Zia’s food so were pleased to find out he is open in the evenings Tuesday to Sunday for takeaway.Phoned up to place the usual order then went to collect a short while later - he does also offer delivery but a slightly longer wait depending on what time you call.Restaurant was immaculately clean inside and the layout has been changed to ensure distancing requirements. Food was cooked to perfection and delicious.Please do support the local restaurants who are offering a collection or delivery service during these strange times so that they have a better chance of still being in business when normality returns. We will be ordering in from Spice weekly for the foreseeable future to show our support.

For many years I enjoyed the quality of Zias Bangladeshi restaurant In Chorleywood.8 years ago he relocated to Chalfont St Peter and I moved to the New Forest: do I miss those brilliant dinners?..... you bet. On paying a recent visit to South Bucks I called into Spice, Chalfont St Peter for an evening meal and was immediately warmly welcomed by a member of staff; a little later Zia came to our table and was pleased to see us. Needless to say the meal was awesome and of a much higher quality than on offer in our new home town. Wow!!! What a treat.

After a 3hour delayed flight due to Storm Dennis We arrived late evening 10pm , owner and staff couldn’t have been more welcoming despite final guests just leaving. Stayed open for us and cooked a delicious meal . Thank you so much .

Ordered a the chef’s special Balichera chicken (spicy!) and it’s the tastiest curry we’ve ever had, accompanied by a delicious peshwari naan, onion bhaji and rice. Friendly waiters and a great atmosphere. Our favourite curry in Chalfont - would highly recommend.

First time i have ever encountered a restaurant sneak off down to road and back with our food and pass it off as theirs!I ordered in restaurant, but my other half was waiting in car outside and saw it.They were whispering to each other in restaurant si i couldn't hear.Very expensive takeaway and very salty.Icing on the cake was the sleazy waiter who felt me up and down my back!If the food comes from Delhi Spice might as well eat there as takeaway is £10 cheaper for same thing and no sleazy waiter.

We eat in the restaurant and get take aways and are never disappointed. They know their ingredients so choosing for a gluten and dairy free family member is easy. Food is delicious and the flavours are all different. We happily take friends along and they would all recommend.

For some reason we have the choice of 3 Indian restaurants in Chalfont and this is by far the best. Zia, the owner, is a lovely man, the restaurant stylish and the food is fabulous. Good portion size, full of taste and priced well. If you are trying to decide on an Indian in and around Chalfont St Peter you are missing out if you don't go here.

We have eaten at Spice on several occasions, having followed the friendly owner when he moved from Chorleywood. This is fresh, honest food, prepared with care and love and cannot be beaten. After an illness, when advised not to eat salt, Zia had everything prepared salt-free especially for me. How many restauranteurs would do this for a customer? On other occasions, for instance when suffering from a heavy cold, I would be treated to an especially delicious cure of a made-to-order gingery curry, just for me! The restaurant is spotlessly clean, the food is made fresh, with no short cuts taken, and the service is excellent. My husband will not eat a chicken shashlik in any other place. What more could one ask for?

Tuesday night is banquet night - starter, main, side and rice or Nan - all for £12.95! The mixed starter was really fresh and tasty and the mains - dhansak and madras - were full of mouthwatering flavours and unlike garlicky or spicy curries elsewhere. This is not your regular curry house and is well worth a try as the food is just so tasty.

haven't been in a while and that is due to change but hands down the best Indian restaurant i have been to!! and to top of off every time i have been we received a baileys on the house!

I visited this restaurant on Wednesday with my partner. The food was lovely and the staff are so friendly. This is by far the best Indian in Chalfont village and we will be going back with the rest of the family soon.

Proudly authentic Bangladeshi according to the manager. But a little bland for my liking. King prawns for the starter with fish curry to follow. My partner's saag lamb was good, apparently. I would go again, but would ask for my dishes to have a little more oomph.

For some reason we have the choice of 3 Indian restaurants in Chalfont and this is by far the best. In fact one of the very best in the area. The owner is charming and welcoming, the restaurant clean and well decorated and the food is fabulous. Good size portions, exploding with taste, well priced. The only sad thing is as I am constantly watching my weight we don't go there enough.

It’s always good to revisit a favourite restaurant and again be blown away by the amazing flavours and lovely reception from the owner and staff..Hot summer is not the best for being in the mood for curry..but tonight’s rainy weather gave us the urge! I have used all three Indians in the village, both eat in and takeaway. Spice is my favourite. Right or wrong, I judge Indian restaurants on two things, apart from the food - I look at the state of the windows/curtains ABOVE the restaurant (generally where some staff sleep) and also the toilets. Spice passes on both counts - the toilets in particular have always been immaculate on my visits. The important bit - the food! I have to say that whenever I have eaten in or had takeaway, the food always tastes freshly prepared. Most Indians seem to have a pot of generic sauce bubbling away thatthey add to, depending on what dish you choose. Not so with Spice - you can taste the freshness of the ingredients - and I have never had "Delhi Belly" the following day - more than I can say for a lot of Indian restaurants! Yes, it may cost slightly more than the other two restaurants, but it's well worth paying for freshness and quality. Oh - and when I eat in, the service is always great!

We are doing a bit of a tour of local Indian restaurants and although this one was a bit more money than the others but it was really exceptionally good food. Also it was full of Indians which is always a good sign! The ingrediants were all fresh and it tasted like proper food not pre-prepared or packet based! Highly reccomended!

Many India food places in Chalfont and surrounding areas but this is by far the best! Might be slightly more expensive but always good food and service! Frequent customer 💖

Easily the best of the three Indian restaurants in Chalfont St Peter. We came in a party of ten and they generously offered us free mixed starters and aperitifs! The food is really good, too -- would highly recommend.

We came here because Delhi Spice was very busy on a Friday night and we knew the service would be slow. We are so glad we did! The food is Bangladeshi as opposed to Indian and was so tasty without an overpowering ‘heat’ of chillies. We had the mixed starter which was beautifully presented and the onion bhajis were not all oily and greasy and my chicken makhani main was very tasty. My husband always has madras and although it wasn’t on the menu they made him one and he loved it. Portions are huge and we will certainly use Spice again as our preferred Indian restaurant.

Firstly i have to agree with other reviewers on the lighting in the restaurant, we sat in the window and it was so dark we had to ask for the lights to be turned up so we could read the menu .

Have to say this was really disappointing. Service at start was haphazard as they randomly dumped drink / sauces on the table and shuffled bits around. Food when it came was poor, all 3 chicken dishes had burnt chicken in them and they forgot it was a mushroom rice so took the Pilau away and added undercooked mushrooms and returned it. They could see we weren’t that impressed so then the sevice came over attentive and repetitive to the point of annoying.

Dropped in tonight as we’re working nearby tomorrow and we’re both so glad we did. Poppodums crisp and fresh with lovely selection of pickles, our mixed kebab starters were really tasty and sizzling hot, the mains accompanied by a garlic naan and a peshwari naan were an absolute delight. Got chatting with the proprietor who’s very passionate about his food - really lovely and interesting chap. Service was attentive without being fussy. I’m told by my other half that the toilets are spotlessly clean with Molton Brown toiletries, a premium brand apparently. Based on our experience tonight I can’t see why there have been less than glowing reviews recently. Our only complaint is that Spice is 150 miles from home! Highly recommended.

I am not a huge fan of this type of food but agreed to visit it with three friends before a bridge match. It was unexpectedly dark inside and I had some difficulty reading the menu. I ordered a mixed starter. Normally I find this dry and most things tasting the same. Not this time. Beautifully moist chicken, delicate mini-samosa, light bhaji and spicy sheet kebab. Main course was Lamb Achaari. Once again delicious. Lovely spicy sauce and meltingly tender lamb. Everybody enjoyed their food and the service was excellent. The room itself is not very exciting but this is outweighed by the top class food and attentive staff.

Spice never fails to impress. The quality ingredients are beautifully prepared and simply delicious. Some Indian restaurants serve stodgy food which can be swimming in oil with little meat; not here. Very pleasant surroundings with attentive staff. Spice is our number one choice in Chalfont St. Peter and a regular for our family.

Possibly the worst food I’ve eaten anywhere in a long time. All dishes were so heavily salted they were almost impossible to eat. Coffee was unrecognisable - weak and flavourless. I would avoid this restaurant.

Visiting with my grand-children means that three generations always enjoy eating here. They look after the children’s needs and pay particular attention to seeing that they are enjoying the experience. Food is very good, not silly prices and there is a good selection of dishes.

Visited Spice with friends over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised. Good quality food, pleasant atmosphere and very good attentive service. Family friendly and well priced. This is not a run of the mill Indian restaurant. Go!

Every curry I've eaten here has been nice. The only criticism is for the poppadom - they're not as crunchy as other local restaurants and because of that you think they've sat there for a while rather than being fresher.

Eaten at them all, but nothing beats the quality and consistency of the food from spice. Great staff and owner that takes real pride in his restaurant and experience.

Just visited one of our favourite restaurants but have to say it was not as good as usual. The food was great but the ambience was poor. Having visited many times tonight was a disappointment. It was a birthday and 7 days ago I rang to advise of the birthday and was told they would make it special. To be honest nothing was done.

Spontaneous takeaway..absolutely spot on...flavours and spice..yum, forgotten how good it could be. Lamb was tender and succulent and delicately spiced. Tarka Dhal one of my favourite dishes. We love this place for a relaxed dinner in the restaurant and tonight the takeaway was superb, generous portions too. Our favourite Indian by far. Thank you Zhia and your team for always making us feel so welcome. Quality food, Quality service!

We had an amazing summer party for 40 with food provided by Spice . Zhia arrived the day before to ensure he would know where to come on the night bringing 7 large chaffing dishes and serving spoons. On the night he brought 4 beautiful curries freshly cooked along with rice, many samosas, naan breads and too many to count onion bhajis all of which were first class,hot and enjoyed by everyone. To top it all he came to collect the next day all the dishes to be washed up back at the restaurant. I strongly recommend the food and service provided by this charming man and his chefs if you want a stress free dining at home experience for any number.

I'd forgotten how good this food is and what great staff work here. We had a takeaway for three with starters and it cost just over £30. It was superb and much better than any other Indian restaurant for miles around. Highly recommended!!

Hadn't been here for a while but yet again Spice didn't disappoint. I've seen the owner, Zhia grow up from a young waiter at a curry house in South Harrow to a master restaurateur at Spice. The food was the best Indian eating experience I've had for a very long time. My Lamb Dhansak was stunning, so full of flavour. Others raved about their main dishes and unusually, the vegetable sides drew lavish praise too. My Naan Bread was wonderfully moist, not dried out and uninteresting as it often is in other Indian restaurants. The service was enthusiastic and effective. The ambience is good and the décor just about right. Can't wait to go back!

A friend recommended spice and I have to say that we weren't disappointed. There appeared to be a number of regular customers in there, which we took as a good sign. The food was good but above all the service was excellent. We had a good evening and will come back again.

Such a great evening at Spice. All of the food was delicious....One of our children literally licked his plate clean! Service was absolutely faultless. The manager is clearly very passionate about the food, ambience and every part of this restaurant and it shows. We love Spice and will definitely be back.

Good food, thoughtfully cooked, and a hands-on manager who cares about his restaurant. The spicing is subtle and complex rather than over-powering.

My favourite local restaurant. It specialises in authentic Bangladeshi cuisine, without any gimmicky colouring etc. What you get is a really tasty, home cooked style meal with good quality ingredients.

I went here on Friday evening with my family and have to say that this is the best place to eat a curry. The staff are very friendly and courteous and have a good knowledge of how the food is made. They don't buy in powder spices like other restaurants but make all of their own. We had four different curries all of which were delicious and the meal was very good value for money. I would eat here in preference to any other Indian restaurant for miles around.

Being of Asian descent myself, I've eaten a lot of Indian/Asian/Bangladeshi food, and I can genuinely say that this is by far my favourite. The food is authentic, simply cooked and tastes amazing. The chicken tikka, chicken palak (chicken with spinach) and paneer masala are my personal favourites but you won't go far wrong with anything in here (I've tried many of the dishes as we often share). Definitely one to try if you're in the area and in the mood for an Indian

Have been coming here for a few years now and always have a friendly reception from the manager and staff, who are very attentive and willing to alter dishes to suit taste. The food I've had here has always been of a high standard for eat-in and take away. I can highly recommend the king prawn dhansak which comes with pilau rice. Naan breads always fresh and fantastic, and a good range of dishes on the menu. The staff are happy to make the hot dishes more mild if you ask them, which I do.

We came here as despite having a booking at Delhi Spice they had given our booking away. The restaurant was quiet and we were almost able to pick our table. The manager was very attentive and made sure that all was in order and was constantly checking we were OK. The food was freshly cooked to order, the quality and quantity was good.

Great food, great service, owner treats everyone like good friends. there is a lot of competition for curry houses in Chalfont, but Spice is by far the best....never had a bad meal here.

We were shown to our table as soon as we arrived and we were not pressured to order drinks or poppadoms before we had even sat down.

We use this curry house regularly and find the food of a very very good standard. Staff are friendly and attentive. It's defiantly the best we have found and would recommend it to every one who like a good curry. Enjoy

We have ordered a takeaway from here since we moved to the village 3 years ago and they never disappoint, the food is fresh, tasty and spicy but not hot. They serve True Indian food that is tasty and aromatic.Very good value for money and the service is excellent, always on time and with no problems.We have never had a bad experience with this establishment and when you need an urgent delivery they always help and come on time.I would not go any where else for a take away or eat in in this area. The staff are so polite and welcoming.well worth a visit.

There were 5 of us and we had an enjoyable evening. The food was good and service excellent. The staff are always attentive. I like a special lamb curry, which is not on the menu and they also do a special vegetable curry. Delicious.

We came all the way from the netherlands. The food was really nice. We were recommended to order different plates en share it. But the portions were big. <br />The service was very bad. Unkind en unpersonal. They were in a hurry to get us out. We repeatly asked for a break but it seemed not possible. So we were outside within 75 minutes. <br />Wine was very nice

Went there last night with with some friends, the service was excellent as was the food.it was our first visit,it certainly won't be our last. it is well worth the trip from where we live in Chesham.

The starters came out very quickly. The mains came out at different times, which the waiter did warn us about! My main was barley warm. When they replaced my main they left a serving fork in it by mistake. Apart from that the food and atmosphere was nice!

Went there the other night for a family meal and can't believe how incredible it is. From the outside we weren't sure as is small and wasn't busy (it got busier as we sat down and ate). However, don't judge a book by it's cover, this little restaurant is a hidden gem!! We've just moved to the area and I can't believe how lucky we are to have found such a great Indian restaurant. The staff were absolutely lovely, couldn't have been friendlier or more attentive (without being intrusive) and made us feel so special. The food was just outstanding, delicious, hot and all were very happy with their choices (we were a mix of spice lovers and not-so-spicy lovers). Service was impecable and they went the extra mile, will definitely be returning soon!!!
