Soya New Malden in Kingston upon Thames

Visited here a couple of weeks ago with friends. It took a long time to get served despite not being busy and dishes came at random times: I got my starter and main together. The food is quite good, however the Korean barbecue is disappointing as it is electric and the bibimbap didn't contain an egg and there was Japanese dishes on the menu - it didn't feel authentic.

We looked for an alternative as K-Town Korean BBQ Grill House appeared to have doubled their prices after they went viral on Instagram. So glad we found this restaurant. The food is really tasty, fresh and well presented. Service is crisp and attentive. You need to go looking for this restaurant as it is away from the main New Malden high street, but it's well worth it.

We went to Soya in the middle of the week to mark our wedding anniversary, we loved it. The staff are super friendly and nothing is too much trouble, we did book and I'm glad we did as it was really busy even on a Wednesday evening. We were given the option of sitting inside or outside opted for a window seat, a very large group arrived at the same time, you could tell they were regular visitors so we watched what they ordered. We had sushi and squid to start and were surprised with the salad sides (x3) that accompanied the starter, wow it was all super fresh and so tasty. For mains I had seafood noodles dish again so fresh and really tasty, my husband had a beef with rice dish and he really enjoyed it too. The portions are really generous and neither of us were able to finish the main courses, nice white wine to accompany it at the end of the meal we were surprised at the value for money, just over £50. We will certainly be back again an extra benefit for us is we live really near it, such a lovely relaxed evening. The waitress was amazing friendly and efficient and the chef came out to wish us goodnight/. Just visit you wont be disappointed, we highly recommend it to you.
