Went for lunch with the Mrs was greeted with smiles and friendly welcomes , we were shown to our table which we do advise to book as was pretty busy inside for a 3.30 Sunday afternoon. We had soft drinks as neither of us drink alcohol but the drinks menu was substantial enough for most people. Average price of drinks was around £10, we had olives and bread with butter as our starter (butter is made in house and is absolutely amazing!). there were quite a few choices but we didn't want to get a proper starter, so we opted for main and dessert with a lite aperitif to start followed by steak frites and I had the ribeye which was a special of the day. Both cooked to perfection and very tender. Dessert we had apple tart fin which was amazing and a baked cheese cake which was also very nice but apple tart won the battle of the desserts. Staff were professional, attentive, well dressed and friendly and management were great too. Special mention to Juan and our waiter who we forgot their name but he said he was from Peru. We will be back for another date maybe dinner next time. Highly recommend for a date night in London.

We came for a very late lunch, i.e. after 2 pm, and the place was quite busy. A table was quickly pointed out to us, but after that we had to wat a rather long time for even a Menu to be brought to the table. I am not impressed by the service. I was however pleased with the decor, typically French style, with proper waiters walking around. A rare sight nowadays. The food was acceptable, not outstanding, but acceptable. Despite the below par service, we may be back some other time.

My friend and I come to dinner on 6th December. We have very nice waiter, lovely girl with short hair. She give us excellent wine recommendation. Ox cheek dish was very good, classic French onion soup for my friend also very nice. At end of night we have espresso martinis—this was nice—but my night was ruined. It is only 10:30, but manager come and ask us again and again if we want anything. Then he ask if he can bring bill. Not even 5 minutes later he come back with card machine. We are shocked and embarrassed by his behavior. We spend over £100 on cocktails and £150+ on wine, and still he make us feel not welcome. We ask the girl what manager’s name is, and she say Patrick. Because of him, we will not come back. You can see he try to push us out, even though restaurant close at 11. This behavior is unacceptable.

I will not recommend Soutine to any of my friends because it is a waste of time for us now. Obnoxious rude staff, the new general manager has so much attitude and disgusting behaviour. This was my favourite restaurant once upon a time when Matt Robins was managing. The old staff Radovan, Myriam were so lovely and friendly now it has gone so downhill with inexperienced staff that dont even speak properly. Change the management bring old staff back. Your restaurant will go down because of your horrible staff

Soutine is housed in a beautiful building in St John's Wood which I thought was worth a visit for a light meal. There was no welcome greeting or even a smile from staff as we entered the restaurant and were shown to a table. The decor has subtle lighting which is intended to create a warm and pleasant atmosphere but this did anything but as an artic blasts of froideur hung over the restaurant. We ordered prix fix menu - misleading - this is merely a tasting menu and some drinks. Before we had even finished we were presented with a dessert menu which we declined and wanted to enjoy the drinks and take in some of the art work which heavily adorned the walls. Within five minutes of the table being cleared another member of staff may be a maitre d' appeared with a full menu sheet shoved on the table I told him we had already eaten and would soon be out of his way. I felt we were under pressure to vacate despite the fact the premises had more staff than customers. I had hopes of booking dinner for a special group of American guests but I do not think they would be happy with this restaurant, as it is hardly welcoming or convivial. Fortunately We have the privilege of a branch of the iconic Motcombs of Belgravia opening a restaurant in the Wood soon and I know my guests will get a tremendous welcome as I myself have had on many occasions .

Unfortunately the service was very slow nearly had to beg to order our food,The food came barely warm and the French Fries were soggy and awful, guys you are on a prime location just increase your prices by %10-15 and provide good service. They have staffing issues, from what I understand they pay rather low wages hence bad service, I doubt if this restaurant survives another year with its present management

No excuses! We didn't get past the arrival phase as we were completely ignored by all the staff. We walked in expecting to be greeted by this fine dining restaurant. We stood there and I said to my friend, if no-one speaks to us in 30 seconds we're leaving. A waitress then proceeded to walk straight past us without even a blink or a word. I saw five staff I think and not one said good evening, welcome or even acknowledged us standing there. We left and spent our money elsewhere.

Decidedly average. That would be generous. It was actually below average. The service was excruciatingly slow and utterly disinterested. We had to practically beg just to get our order taken. When the food finally arrived, it was barely warm and completely devoid of any flavor. The French fries could have easily come from a bargain bin at Iceland or B&M. The quality was on par with a 3-star low-budget cruise's pile-it-high buffet. Compared to our previous visit to Soutine, this experience was a complete waste of time and effort. Would I ever go again or recommend it? Absolutely not. Save yourself the disappointment.

Soutine was a truly fantastic Parisian experience from food, decor to the music, cutleries every detail was spot on. Excellent restaurant and some of the friendliest staff in London. We started off with some sparkling Cremant, a cocktail called Clover Club and a delicious rum based Old Fashioned and their artisan baguette. The bread and butter alone deserves a standing ovation. It is not to be missed! For our starters we opted for the Scallops, Escargot which was garlicky herby and buttery and Haddock Croquettes from a Prix Fix menu. The mains were Chicken Supreme with a generous herby mash and rich mushroom sauce which my partner licked off the plate. I had the Spiced Duck Breast, which had a delicious blend of spices and herbs on its skin and a good portion of greens. We had a side of broccoli which balanced out the richness of the food. After a break chatting with the loveliest staff they recommended their rich decadent Sachertorte and a light airy Coconut Dacquoise that tasted of summer. We were quite full so they were happy to pack it for us to take home. My special celebration was made better by the generosity and kindness from the staff at Soutine. Thank you, I will return with family!

After having a lovely meal here, some time ago, we decided to try the restaurant again, whilst staying nearby. What a disappointment. The starters were lovely, and served quite quickly. But then the wait for our main courses, may explain why all three main dishes were cold! We had two of the specials, halibut in a lobster sauce & one steak and frites. The waiter took all three plates back, to re-heat (which I detest doing). We all had new plates, but my poor sister in law, who had tipped all her chips onto the first plate, had a re-heated steak back, minus the chips! Paying £37 for a halibut, that is served cold, not offering any discount, and still adding £35 service charge is abit rich! Shall not be returning!

We were guests at this restaurant last Saturday celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary and also my husband"s birthday. Unfortunately our experience at this establishment was tainted by a below standard waiter. Firstly we waited around 10 minutes to be acknowledged and to receive menus. Then once we finally received our drinks, the starters arrived at the same time. I wasn't that impressed with my steak tartare as I couldn't taste the beef due to way too many other ingredients added to it. My husband's onion soup was very nice. Then within 10 minutes our main meals were served which we both enjoyed. Once finished, straight away, we were offered dessert menus which we declined because neither of us have a sweet tooth... The waiter then almost immediately put the bill on our table. We still had 3/4 of a bottle of wine left and also , we may have liked to order some coffee or a liquor to compliment our meal. We were very surprised and felt like we were being rushed therefore we struggled to relax. I've put the bill on the side as we weren't ready to pay then the waiter appeared with the card machine. That really made us feel uncomfortable, hurried and awkward, especially as the table next to us received no such treatment and their food was served in much more considered timings. From being seated to receiving the bill was just over an hour.... Overall our celebration was ruined and we don't think that we will ever be back sadly.

Last night was a very cold chilly night when we arrived it was -1 outside. We were seated almost immediately and a few moments later I felt a chill and realised that the air-conditioning was cold and blowing on top of my head. I went back to the cloakroom and took my coat so that I could continue wearing my coat whilst I was eating. The Waitress said that there was a problem with the air-conditioning and the management were aware. My partner chose an expensive champagne that was served by a very charming gentleman, but we never saw him again at our table for the rest of the evening . The food was good, especially the onion soup which I really appreciate because I was so cold. I had to ask three times for a side plate for our bread and butter. For a restaurant that has so many waiters the service is terrible. I ordered an onion soup and my partner a truffle tart when it arrived. The soup was placed in front of my partner and the tart in front of me, even though I was the one that had a spoon in front of me . It is sad that the waiters are inexperienced I would think that in a restaurant like this they would at least serve the wine or champagne throughout the evening. We were left to serve our own drinks which is not what I expect in an establishment such as this.. I left the restaurant feeling very cold and fluy and I had already started coughing. I took a night nurse and went to bed. This morning I have a full-blown cold I feel terrible and cannot face going to the office like this We will not be going back.

We went as a four to have a meal with family that we hadn’t seen in a month or so, so a special and it was awful. The food has left us all with our stomachs in pieces, one dietary requirement was met and we had to wait 25 minutes for a new dish to get back to the table (all it was was a plain peace of fish) and throughout the whole night the service was so poor, never asked throughout the whole night is we would like a drink or if we would want more to drink. Then when taking payment the manager was rude and stuck up. Would not recommend. If you want a meal in this area The Ivy is 100yards round the corner and offers way better food and service which isn’t as expensive as Soutine. Save yourself and don’t go to Soutine

We was here this weekend and the whole experience was rather boring at best, The room looked rundown, the carpet look like it had not been cleaned in a few years, the actual room was a mix of Brown and Beige, no candles on the table for dinner, the music was more hip hop than dinner type music that you would expect at a 3 star restaurant, the starf suites looked like they needed replacing as they all looked old and worn out, the food at best was of a good high street restaurant and not a 3 star at all and just did not inspire one, the explanation of each course was explained in a rushed and rather awkward way where it was very hard to understand what they was saying, having been here about 5-6 years ago, the restaurant this weekend just did not match what we experienced this weekend, its passed its sell by date by a few years I think, the £1800 bill for the 3 of us seemed a total waste of money and a night out, it did border on a embarrassment, when you look at some of Londons other 3 star restaurants like Gordon Ramseys, Sketch, just to name a few Alain Ducasse's restaurant falls far short,

The famous steak and chips were enjoyable but it was the steak sauce stood out. It's nice to know you can have more than a plate's worth, which might contribute to the hype. Surprisingly, the walnut salad starter and classic creme bulee were highlights, despite the steak being the main. Buzzing atmosphere with a classic decour which is nice.
