Sadly, a bit ordinary. One of us had snails, which whilst they were ok, did not come in shells, which you'd normally expect to be filled with garlic butter for putting in the oven. Secondly I had the cassoulet. Perfectly tasty, but whilst the sausage was fine, the duck, which I'd normally expect to have a leg of, came shredded, and certainly not the full meat of a duck leg. My partner was happy with her tartiflette, but the portion of pate was small.

Everything was amazing! Unfortunately a gentleman, eastern European I believe, I didn't get his name. Was very short tempered, and hostile with his service towards us. Other than that, the food delicious and the atmosphere was pleasant. We got beef bourguignon and it was so tender! It’s so disappointing that he let the general service down.

Returned for a long overdue visit post a visit to Royal Accademy nearby (superb Ukrainian exhibition). Despite roadworks in Shepherd Street, our visit was superb. Two newbies with me. Starters 2x paté (cournichons & salad also super), one onion soup (the best outside Paris in a while). Mains, 2x sirloin & one paté & a tomato salad - inspired by our starters, & frites! No problems cherry picking at menu 🫠. Plenty of string french fries. A glass of 🍷 each. Plenty of bread and yummy butter. Service way up there 👏. Restaurant v cute bistro/ brasserie in a v special, beautiful area of old London, & a fun history, too. Not sure why I left it so long... had a super wander through to Hyde Park to walk off the perfect meal 😋. Merci tous 🥰

Looks nothing from outside but having done some research prior to heading Sheperd Market we'd heard all hood. Very glad we ventured in. Small space, great service, lovely wine and fabulous food. Mushroom risotto is one of my faves and this was the best ever, so tasty. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his sea bass and we even managed to share a piece of the delicious tart tatin. Will definitely return, very reasonable price too.

This was a perfect meal in an intimate and perfect setting. We had some delicious mussels as a starter, which were beautifully seasoned and a joy. This was followed by sea bass, expertly cooked and seasoned and one of the best fish dishes we’ve ever had. The service was warm, friendly and superbly efficient. And, at £100 for the two of us, with two glasses of wine each, this was real value for money. We’ll definitely be going back.

I can see why this place has so many fans. Not a faultless restaurant by any means, but that's the whole point frankly. Ticks all the boxes for a quaint neighbourhood French bistro where you can have a quick entrecote with a pastis and be treated like a member of the family.

The good here was excellent and for us the portion sizes were just about perfect. It’s a very touristy area so they really don’t have to try hard to attract customers. I’ve knocked a star off for the ambiance of the place. Didn’t appreciate the loud football commentary on a video from the kitchen which also seemed to distract the staff somewhat and we had to ask for things rather than be asked. And a delivery arrived and all the goods were carted in right next to us. The driver was very disrespectful and screwed up his delivery note and threw it in the gutter as the waiter looked on and said nothing. Muscles were excellent with fries

Stopped for a late lunch on a sunday and was not disappointed. The staff were warm, friendly and casual (which was perfect). There were good menu choices, i had a small goats cheese salad and the farmhouse pate. I enjoyed a glass of wine and didnt feel rushed in any way. Location wise, its lovely. Inside space to sit and people watch but a few tables outside for those unusually hot days of the year. I would recommend this place for a lovely lunch or dinner in a relaxed environment. Staff are a credit to the business and the food was delicious. Ill definitely come back to try the mussels 🙂

I ordered the beef bourguignon based on the positive reviews on google. I was so excited to try it! But the beef is so dry and overcooked, it wasn’t tender at all, which made the meal really sad! The mash potato and the sauce are amazing tho! However, It is not worth 22£ plus the service fee 2.5£ I would suggest you to try other dish than this if you decide to visit.

After visiting Diana’s family home, I was very hungry, but there were all super famous stores nearby, which seemed expensive and not delicious. I came to the Shepherd’s Market by accident and randomly chose this restaurant. Everyone, it’s really delicious. It’s so delicious~~ The price is not expensive for London. I recommend it as a pre-opera dinner. Anyway, it’s just a short ride away on the MRT. It’s not even a stop or two away.

It is a very small restaurant, so it's pretty cosy but also almost a little too squeezed. The kitchen is open to the restaurant, which always adds a nice flair but also results in your clothes, smelling of oil etc. My friend and I shared the mussels to start with, which were very tasty, and she then had the beef and I the chicken breast. Mine was very bland and boring, I have to say, and my friends had not enough gravy. The wine was good and the service was friendly but I would not come back as the food was definitely lacking in flavour We each paid £50

These lovely people managed to fit us 3 people in last minute on a busy Thursday night, we came on a whim so had no idea what to expect but were so pleasantly surprised! To start we had Escargot with a delicious sauce - no messing around with shells, so easy to eat and on some lovely bread. Then we had Moules Marinière with fries which were SO GOOD. An absolutely huge portion of some of the best mussels I’ve ever had in the UK, the white wine sauce was so good I could have had it as a soup and the fries were skinny, crunchy and amazing. For dessert we had the Tarte Tatin, it was caramelly, juicy, delicious and perfectly paired with some crème fraiche. The house wines were pretty good, very healthy servings and the service was friendly, relaxed (in a good way!) and so nice about how late we turned up. What a wonderful evening.

I had the sea bream which was exquisite, moist and rich with a delicious anchovy accompaniment. I was so happy with my main that I added a chocolate mousse, muscat and a calvados. Staff were attentive and friendly without being remotely in my face. It’s fascinating to sit and watch the (immensely rich) world go by in Mayfair, eye opening for a second city woman. I don’t normally review my favourite places but I noticed a very misleading review posted by a guy (Charlie Howell) who had eaten 50 meals at l’artiste. He had a bad experience for which they did not charge but his biggest problem seems to be that his wife was referred to as ‘darling’. He left a bad review and one star!! Well mon Cheri you couldn’t be more wrong. The owner, who I’ve never met, did a very measured reply and should be congratulated. Now to the review I’ve been dining here since 1990 so many many meals. It used to be traditional French with a limited menu but all really well cooked with a touch of class and great atmosphere. Now this place is truly exceptional they have a new chef who is creating surprisingly good food and the service is stylish and brilliant. I wish I’d taken a picture of the food he served us last Wednesday but I don’t do that. Suffice to say it was Michelin standard. I love this little place it’s brilliant. The service is second to none and they keep a good cellar. If you’re lucky they may refer to you as mon Cheri - enjoy

I had such high expectations of this cute little place because the reviews were so good but it fell totally flat for me. I had steak frîtes, which should be outstanding as a basic French staple and it was mediocre at best. Same deal with the crème brûlée, they used a small, deep ramekin instead of the normal wide, shallow one and it really threw off the texture (thick in some places and super runny in others), and other than the brûléed top, basically had no flavor at all. Service was decent and the atmosphere is charming but unlike other diners, my meal just didn't do anything for me and I'm pretty easy to please! But you got to do the basics right...

Another small, family run restaurant that is part of the fabric of Shepherd Market, having been around for at least ten years. The service is pleasant and personal. The food is classic bistro material done reasonably well but lacking a little oomph here and there (the depth of flavour is a little lacking). The escargots were mediocre and the steak even though I asked for blue/rare it arrived well done. When I spoke to the waitress she took the plate away and then came back to the table and told me it was rare?! I had to explain that it wasn’t rare and then show her simple chart of how steak should be cooked. See image attached. In fairness she asked if I would like anything else but this isn’t the type of place where you’d send anything back.

I believe the Boeuf Bourguignon was probably frozen or certainly heavily chilled in the fridge because part of it was very cold, basically reheated in the microwave, disappointing, sent back and taken off the bill, I left hungry.

Three of us had a really excellent lunch. Mains of sea bream, lamb steak and salade nicoise were all very good. Great frites and green beans. Friendly service. Chocolate mousse superb. Washed down with Fleurie. Will definitely return. (Best to sit upstairs if possible.)

We explored the Shepherd Market area of Mayfair at the suggestion of one of the Sheraton Grand hotel managers. There are plenty of place to choose from, but as we walked by, the smell of the food lured us is. Two ladies sitting outside said the food was delicious so we decided to give it a try. We started with the pate campagne, which was very good, and then had lamb steak and duck. Both main courses were very good, prices were very reasonable and the service was very good. A great break from pub food!

In an area full of very tourist oriented bars and restaurants this place is as good as it has ever been - visit before this was over 20 years ago! Just so different from the other restaurants in Shepherds Market, with a service level that is actually bordering on unacceptable. But, yes, that really is just part of the charm. They are in demand and they know it! Food is amazing, you watch it being cooked and well worth the wait....!

Polite staff but there was hardly anything available on the menu so we ended up leaving.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. Let me start out by saying I don’t normally write reviews but I would hate for someone else’s trip to be ruined because of this establishment. I booked this hotel because it was decently priced and seemed in a good location. This was a mother-daughter trip for my mom and I before I get married. To say we were disappointed in this hotel would be an understatement. If I could give it 0 stars I would. I normally stay at Marriotts, and I will never stay in another Hilton again because of this. We arrived late and upon check in we were told that the room I had booked (king room with park view) had a leak so the best they could do was give us a queen room and have us move in the morning. (Annoying, but we agreed after they agreed to give us a discounted price. This discounted price wasn’t even offered from the beginning, we had to ask.) So my mom and I went to dinner quickly across the street, and came back to our room in order to go to sleep. Upon pulling the sheets back we were greeted with strings of long hair all between the sheets. We then looked at the bathroom and there were used tissue on the floor, and trash in the shower. CLEARLY, our room was not even clean. The bare minimum you expect from a hotel. We phoned down to the reception, who informed the manager. The absolute best he could offer us were clean sheets for us to put on the bed ourselves. Sheets were brought up in a ball, and had stains on them. The pillows of the bed were completely stained once we removed the covers. The manager could not have been less concerned, and I was left completely disappointed with our first night in London. My mom was disgusted. If it had not been 11:30pm and we were not exhausted from traveling. We would have moved to another hotel right then and there. We made the management aware we were moving the next morning, they first tried to charge us a cancellation fee and for the full 3 nights we were originally booked. Completely unacceptable. The best they have offered me since we left was pointed credited to my Hilton Account, a waste since this was my last Hilton hotel I will stay in. If you are looking for a wonderful hotel, and a perfect London experience - PLEASE go to St. Ermin, a Marriott (2 Caxton). We had the absolute BEST service and best time, it completely made our trip. We were given a complimentary upgrade when we arrived because they felt so bad for us after hearing our story from this Hilton. This hotel would have completely ruined my mom’s first experience of London.
