The famous steak and chips were enjoyable but it was the steak sauce stood out. It's nice to know you can have more than a plate's worth, which might contribute to the hype. Surprisingly, the walnut salad starter and classic creme bulee were highlights, despite the steak being the main. Buzzing atmosphere with a classic decour which is nice.

We were lucky enough to get seated quite quickly. There is always a queue outside since they take no bookings. The food once ordered came within 15 minutes and was piping hot and to a good standard. We managed 2 servings of the steak frites which for what you pay is not bad value including the salad. Would happily go again if it was not so busy and to try the desserts.

I was nearby and had an hour and half to kill and needed food. Joined the queue as they told me it’d 30/40 mins. I was fine with this, as knew it was peak time and service is fast once you enter. An hour later I was nowhere near the front and was told it’d be another 20 mins. I realise it’s hard to be super accurate, but have some respect for your customers and actually provide a considered answer, rather than wasting an hour of my time and leaving me hungry.

I, nor for the OH, have actually gotten around to visiting the renowned Paris restaurant, so I decided to put amends to that. Let me tell you, don't be fooled by other reviews telling you that the line moves quickly. 2 hours waiting in line on a Friday night no less, with numb toes, but despite this, we remained in good spirits (as were others who were queuing). lt was also incredibly entertaining watching the incredulous expressions when people turned around to see how far back the queue snaked. Note, if you are queuing, the restaurant next door (Caldesi) has a hatch where you can order takeaway drinks whilst waiting in line. Absolute genius! Thankfully when we got to the door we were seated quite quickly which was great, as the group in front of us (who was also a group of 4) had to watch couples leapfrog ahead of them whilst waiting for an appropriate table to become availabile. Once you're sat, it's a pretty slick and smooth operation. As everyone is fed the same fare, food comes out quick, which was great as our stomachs were howling! First up is the walnut salad. You have to like mustard to enjoy this, for me this was fine, for my group unfortunately not, so the baguette went down a treat for them. The piste of resistance, the steak and fries. The steak is cut thin and cooked well, the sauce, although nice, I was expecting more wow. Regardless, we devoured everything on our plates Be warned the portions aren't overly big, and the 2nd serving is more like leftovers that's divided between the table. I'm confused how people are stuffed, as we still had quite a lot of room left for desserts. Speaking of, last up, the desserts. Omg wow!! Now I'm not much of a cream person but I had a hankering for the strawberry tart with cream, (I got a mix of strawberries and raspberries) it was not overly sweet nor heavy, my gosh it was just perfect. The verdict for the creme brulee and profiteroles were exactly the same. The staff was great, the atmosphere buzzing, and wine was good. So was it worth the 2 hour wait? In short, no! If I was in the area and the queue was short, then maybe yes.

Steak is good, fries is superb. They only do rare, medium and well done i believe. The rare one however in my opinion closer to medium rare so it's safe to choose this if that's what you like. It costed 31 pounds (as of February 2025) and that will get you 2 servings fo steak and fries. I arrived 15 minutes before its open and get a seat right when they opened.

Waiting in line is quite difficult, I admit. The restaurant is closed from 3 to 6 PM, and then it opens until the evening closing time. When your first plate is finished, your second plate will be added. Don’t judge the portions for being small. As for the wine, they only have the restaurant’s own wine. It’s ideal, but not amazing.

My friend brought me to this restaurant, a place they clearly knew well, and I went in with no expectations. Arriving just before opening, we joined a pre-existing queue, but thankfully, the wait wasn't too long. However, any initial optimism quickly faded once inside. The first impression was less of a restaurant and more of a bustling office canteen during lunch hour. Tiny tables were crammed together, creating an atmosphere where you felt intimately acquainted with complete strangers. The fixed menu meant no decision-making, and the service was efficient, if impersonal. Waitresses moved with machine-like precision, delivering plates in a rapid, almost conveyor-belt fashion. The steak itself was decent, but that's where the positives ended. There was a distinct lack of attention to detail in the presentation and overall experience. The noise level was overwhelming, a direct result of the restaurant's attempt to maximize seating by placing tables mere centimeters apart. My booth seat, in particular, proved a logistical nightmare. Exiting required a complex maneuver involving the neighboring diners, who had to physically shift their table to allow me to escape. The dessert was a profound disappointment. A scoop of generic, supermarket-style vanilla ice cream with a choice of toppings hardly qualifies as a dessert. It felt like an afterthought. For a fixed menu of steak and chips, a mediocre dessert, and a bottle of sparkling water, we paid £45 each. Frankly, it wasn't worth it. This restaurant prioritizes volume over experience, resulting in a functional feed rather than a pleasurable dining occasion. If you're looking for a relaxed, intimate meal with attention to detail, this is definitely not the place.

I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Le Relais de Venise. After dining there, I unfortunately ended up with food poisoning, which I suspect was caused by the dessert I had. I always go to this place and many times have been to the restaurant in Geneva, but the security outside of the restaurant who controls the queue outside of the restaurant is very rude. I was standing in a queue and he tried to made me come closer to the couple in front of me so there is almost no space between me and them. Plus was waving with his hands in front of my face to attract my attention. I never leave comments, but this is too much . When I made step towards another couple to satisfy his it seem still not enough and tried to make me almost stay like 10 cm away from them, so I said I’m happy with this distance, thank you and he was like no come closer, I said no thank you I’m happy with this distance and he was still insisting.. where the distance was minimal already. Please have a look into this as people like that are not supposte to work with other people. Plus waving in front of my face, seems very rule and aggressive including the fact that I am a woman and was standing there on my own . I want to see if he would act like that if I’d big a big man. It happened 15th of Feb 2025 at 13:15 outside of London’s branch.

This has been on the list for a while and I visited with my daughter. We were mentally prepared for a queue but were seated immediately at 1245. (It was a wet Sunday and there was a queue when we left). You don't get a whole lot of personal space, and the overall feel is cheap, paper table cloth for example. Once seated we were quickly served our salad which was nice (strong on the mustard sauce) and bread. We took our own butter 🤣. Not long after Steak, chips and sauce arrived, all of which were cooked well and tasted good. Once your plate is clean you get a second helping 😁. We had puddings which were both good, meringue tower thingy and tarte au Citron.

Once we were in there was a lovely atmosphere, staff were really welcoming and nice. The starter was a salad with a mustard dressing and walnuts and came with bread. We had two plates of chips and steak. Steak was lovely and came in a really nice sauce. Had a pudding between the two of us, and beer and soft drink and it came to £89 with the service included. One of my all time favorites in London. The steak is tender and the fries are crispy and the steak sauce is on point. The service is usually pretty good and once you’re seated, you’re tended to pretty quickly. Their salad and especially salad dressing is also a crowd favorite. The atmosphere of the restaurant is clean and very vibrant and the fact that all staff wear the same uniform, makes the place look very professional. Their desserts are a great ending to the experience and I’ve never come out of there unsatisfied. The only downside is that if you are not super early you have to wait in a line outside to enter. They do have space heaters outside for the people in standing in the line near the entrance but most times the line is rather long and may take a while before you’re under the space heaters. All and all, a great place to eat and definitely recommended.

It was my first time visiting this restaurant on my last night in London tonight .... My husband and family members have been wanting me to try it out, and I came in with my little baby bundled up sleeping in her stroller after waiting in the cold in line to get in for about 15 minutes with my husband. I have never been before, and so as soon as we were seated they immediately were asking to take our order and I could tell they wanted to rush us out. We were still waiting on the rest of our party and because it took them an extra few minutes to get there the waitress and manager were raising their voices at us telling us they would kick us out back into the queue unless we ordered for our whole party at that exact moment. I kept trying to express that our other relatives would be there momentarily and that we had already been waiting with our baby outside, and if they could please just make an exception for another couple of minutes. At this point they started yelling at us aggressively, and my husband asked them to stop yelling while hovering over our sleeping baby. At this point the manager (we found out her name was Clotilde) got extremely triggered and said we would need to be kicked out for telling her to lower her voice and not scream over our sleeping 1 year old child. She then huffed and walked away as the rest of our party has already arrived by this point and given their orders to the server. The manager Clotilde returned and was visibly enraged and purposely threw a plate of salad toward my husband which fell and almost smashed into my baby's head. At this point myself and the entire family were upset that she almost injured my baby and were asking her why she would purposely do that, she then screamed at us that it's an accident and proceeded to call over security to kick us out of the restaurant because we complained she almost purposely injured my child. Clotilde was clearly not able to emotionally regulate herself, was the epitome of unprofessionalism, and honestly humiliated herself and the entire Entrecôte establishment with her disgusting actions. Even worse is she tried to gaslight us for her actions, and never once apologized for hurling the plate or almost hurting my daughter or my husband. Literally every customer witnesses how inappropriately she acted towards us and honestly several made comments to me that she is extremely racist and that we should try a different location. Even the security guard said he didn't agree with what she did. Overall if I could give a negative star for this place I would because of Clotilde. She is lucky she did not injure my child or there would be a lawsuit against her. There is still salad remnants on the back of my baby's stroller where she intentionally threw the plate. Entrecôte, get rid of this toxic manager Clotilde before you lose more customers to her wrath, she's not worth the business suffering.

From there, getting seated was fast and the waitress was very nice but it's a bit cramped in the area for 2 guests. Then, they say here's the menu for the drinks and desserts and the main course is steak and French fries. Before u get the entree, u get a salad with walnuts and that tasted great. After that is the steak which was chewy even though I got it medium and the fries were good. For $45 usd, you can get better food elsewhere for less wait time.

After 15 minutes of waiting like a lemon by the door we were finally seated and whilst the steak and chips were nice the terrible greeting ruined the meal. Eat quickly! I have rarely been so disappointed with a restaurant. After trying the one in Mexico which satisfied us, we wanted to try the one in London which was ultimately a disaster. Already, when you arrive you have to order quickly (even if it is late and several tables are free). We ordered a bottle of wine, but were told not to wait before ordering “house rules”. It is therefore impossible to have a quiet drink before receiving the starter. Then we are brought back the salad which was just ok. Comes the meat. Out of three people, cooking was successful for only two. The least this restaurant can do is get the cooking right. Then, we must understand that we are served half of a steak, implying that there are several courses. In fact, the remaining pieces remain on a stove. When our plate is almost finished, they come and offer us the rest of this meat that is lying around. While we ask to take our time, the waitress looks at us with a nasty look and informs us that this is not the way to do it and that we will eat our meat boiled on the stove anyway. Ultimately it seems to be a tourist trap...

We'd heard about this place and made a special trip to London to visit. We arrived at around 12.30ish pm, there was no queue. The restaurant is compact and busy, but we were sitted straight away⁶. Our waitress was super attentive. She asked us if it was our first trip and explained everything - Walnut green salad & bread to start and then 2 servings of chips and steak with sauce. Food arrived promptly, the salad was sharp and fresh, the chips were crunchy & crisp, and the steak melted like butter - not chewy at all! There's salt & pepper and mustard in the table. Note that the main plates are smaller than normal, but given that you got 2 servings, it was fine. Drinks wise, a vast range available, the restaurant is happy to serve table water, so don't hesitate to ask. Dessert looked delicious but were way too full to squeeze any in. We weren't rushed, food was good, and we felt welcomed, a to the point and no fuss place, overall, good time had by all.

Food: great concept here Salad and bread served first, then steak and fries and another round of steak and fries once done with the first round. Only question asked is the rarity of the steak cooked. The steak doneness was to my liking and the star of the show was the sauce, very unique and you can ask for extra if required. The fries were also super crispy and well seasoned. Atmosphere: pretty decor, very European-esque as you can see in the videos. Price:30~ per person which I think it acceptable based on service and food provided, especially in the location. Restaurant Review: Disappointing Experience I visited this restaurant recently and, unfortunately, it was a very underwhelming experience. To start with, the food itself was average. The chips were quite nice, but the portion of meat was extremely small, which left the meal feeling unbalanced and not worth the price. The first time we visited, the wait to enter was frustratingly long, with an unnecessarily slow-moving queue. Despite the wait, we decided to give it a second chance, but that attempt was even worse. The staff at the entrance were extremely rude, which made the experience unbearable. One incident stood out in particular: a single man politely asked if it was possible to get a table, but the staff member at the door not only rejected him but also physically pushed him back and she was really rude. I have never witnessed such shocking behavior in a public place, let alone a restaurant. Needless to say, we will never go back again. If you’re looking for a place with decent food and polite service, I would strongly recommend avoiding this establishment.

Love the concept - just steak and frites, with a second serving. Great house red wine that comes in half bottles

Well worth queueing for a table. They serve a delicious lettuce and walnut salad, steak and chips with their secret sauce, and nothing else, and it's perfect. There is a choice of wines and some excellent desserts.

This place is over hyped. We had to queue for about 45 minutes. The food was definitely not worth it. The bread and lettuce salad was good. The meat was cut so thin couldn’t get a taste of it. It was drenched in the sauce which wasn’t bad but seems to be used to cover up tasteless sirloin steak. The fries portion was way too big - felt we hardly got meat but they gave you chips to compensate. It was overcooked dry and oily. After we left just had the taste of oily fries in our mouth all night. Definitely would not recommend or be coming back. Service was ok and not rushed.

The food was really nice, the steak was cooked perfectly, just how we like it and wasn’t chewy at all. The chips and sauce were good too. The overall experience was... interesting. We arrived at 7pm on a Saturday and queued for about 1 hour and 40 minutes. There’s no menu; you start with a salad, then get two portions of steak and chips. The plates are small, so it’s pretty manageable. Everything during the meal was really nice, but my only criticism is how rushed we felt at the end. My boyfriend and I eat quite quickly and we’d already paid the bill before we were even done with our drinks. As soon as we finished our drinks, we were asked to leave. I wouldn't have minded but we were on in the restaurant for 40 minutes and we didn’t even have time to get the directions back to the hotel up on our maps. The couple seated next to us, who came in at the same time, were still eating. I think they could give you at least five minutes to settle after finishing before pushing you out the door. Overall, it was a good time, it’s worth the experience but definitely a one off kind of place for us

Usually a big fan of the chain but I think the city branch tastes a bit better. The tables are so unbelievably close to each other you have to move the tables apart to let people sit down.

Great food , not so great atmoshpere , unwelcoming staff. Food was great- staff were not welcoming, felt some animocity and made us feel uncomfortable, get the sesne they want you in and out as fast as possible - the enviroment also isnt the best over crowded. Also they added 2 things to the bill we didnt order, luckily i read the reciept before we paid.

Good food but really atrocious service (the worst I've seen in a while tbh). The waitress was very rude after I asked for the steak to be cooked slightly more. I wouldn't normally say anything but I'd asked for medium and it was close to blue.

First time visit for me and our server Ivelina gave an excellent explanation of how it works at the restaurant. Service was quick and even in the short moment we got to spend with Ivelina, we had a great laugh and connection. Profiteroles were amazing!

The queue is the novelty of the place. I reckon if there was no 40 minute queue, it may dampen the experience and fun!!! Yes please take note, they don’t do reservations for snotty people like me, so don’t be shocked. There’s a structured triple line queue that you need to respect. Don’t be an unstructured rebel and cut the line. You will find it becomes an unnecessary fame later which will spoil your dining experience There’s no aged beef, no fancy cuts, no T bone. Just entrecote aka ribeye You will only be asked on doneness which is well done or medium. There’s no mid doneness like mediun rare. Again, snotty people like me take heed so we don’t feel like our voices are not heard. It’s the rules of the game I absolutely loved the experience. Is the beef the best in my life? Far from it! But the whole fun make the dining experience something i will do it all over again and sacrifice my snottiness

After queueing for one hour and a half, we got seated in a freezing cold area as cold wind was blowing instead of the heating. Our steak came and it looked like someone had eaten the good middle part and gave us the sides. The table next to us with French man had great slices. The lettuce salad was dead looking!! Felt really disappointed as the restaurant in Paris is stunning and the food is beautiful. Wouldn’t go back.

The food is quite good, in my opinion, they use too much mustard here, which the taste of the meat and salad too sharp. In their other branch and in Paris, the flavors are much softer when we mention this. Of course, it’s not the same as the one in Paris, but still. Also, the staff are very busy, so they move very quickly, and it gets noisy. Other than that, everything is great.

People were hyping up the place, where queues are usually long. We manage to go early to beat the queue and waiting time was not that long. First thing you notice is the service which was atrocious as the employee does not care a thing about service. For us it was lady who was European but may be it was just her. The attitude she had was like I am here just to do my job, which I get it but still customer expect at least services to be good. It wasn’t like we were being difficult or rude but the service was just awful. The food is not what you pay for. The chips is like normal chips that you can buy from supermarket and deep oil fry it. Steak was decent as you can only choose rare or medium. Medium was what we asked but the steak was more like rare. Furthermore, there is limited drink as they expect you have wine only. However if you do ask then you will get choices for soft drinks or juices or water. Overall, what you pay for is not what you get. Services were bad by the lady who served us. They want you to finish the food and get away from restaurant. You can only get 1 extra serve. Chips were terrible and steak is ok but you can find better steaks.

We celebrated a family birthday at Le Relais De Venise in Marylebone, and it was absolutely fantastic! Yes, there’s always a queue to get a table, and this time was no different, but it’s easy to see why—it’s just that good. We didn’t mind the wait because the experience and the food made it all worthwhile. The simple yet perfect menu of steak and fries, paired with their signature sauce, was as incredible as ever. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the service was efficient and friendly, despite how busy it was. If you’re after an authentic and memorable dining experience, this place is a must. It’s worth every minute of waiting in line—highly recommended!

I went there to buy a cheese and the member of staff who served me was extremely rude to me and almost insulted me because I came from Quebec and in Quebec “we don’t have good French”. Had I known, I would never have bought there!!! 0 in customer service, I will never go there again. In response to your answer, I would like to add that most French people show classism towards Quebecers and the majority of other peoples they colonized in the past. Receiving a comment and a look of judgment like the one I experienced in your cheese shop is a form of racism/discrimination or even linguistic prejudice, a phenomenon which is documented and of which most of my compatriots are frequent victims when they visit France. Just because my French is different doesn’t necessarily mean it’s bad. There is no one right way to speak French. I advise you to offer training to avoid microaggressions towards customers.
