We were a table of six and paid £60 each for bread, salad, two small servings of steak/frites, dessert, and two bottles of house wine). Although the only thing on the menu is “fast-ish” food, the taste and quality are genuinely French. I wouldn’t order the dessert again (I had the vacherin de relais, which was a bit too sweet for me), but I was happy with everything else…especially for the price in central London. The wait in the queue was surprisingly short (about 45 minutes for us at 18:30 on a weeknight - and I’m sure it’s better for smaller groups), but you do need to be all present to be seated. I probably won’t come back on my own (mostly because there are so many other restaurants in the area), but if someone else wanted to go, then I wouldn’t mind eating here again.

Great sauce, you get 2 full plates of meat and fries. Limited menu which is part of the experience. Service could be better but to be fair they’re so busy I don’t blame the staff for being stressed. Massive queues

Went around 1pm — no clear system for entry, and the manager wasn’t welcoming at all, no smile, just serious. Staff inside were also unfriendly. The steak tasted great, but the portion was small and they overloaded the plate with fries. For the price, it’s not great value. Service and attitude need improvement — a bit of friendliness would make a big difference.

It’s clear they’ve recently restructured their strategy to prioritize table turnaround rather than quality of food. The waitress asked how we liked our meat cooked before saying hello, and then proceeded to rush us through the salads to serve the first portion which was poorly presented as you see in the photo. When it was time for the second portion, she served well done for my friend who ordered medium, then when we said it was for the other person on our table she scooped it out and placed it on our well done friends plate. This really showcases how much this place has deteriorated and how unhygienic their practices are. I’d highly recommend the Paris team to come here for a market visit, they’ll leave disappointed for sure.

Although very busy we only queued for about 15 mins, I liked the atmosphere, busy, busy, however the steak and frites were perfect, their signature sauce is an acquired taste so I am glad I had it on the side, although lovely I only needed a small amount. We enjoyed our meal immensely. No more expensive than steak and frites anywhere else.

The steak was very average, was gummy rather than tender as it should be. Walnut salad and fries were really nice. Also the “second portion” is a lie/scam. The amount of steak you will get combined in first and second portions is less than an average single steak portion in any steakhouse. Therefore we left the restaurant hungry. The waitresses were friendly but at the same time extremely rushed. When the waitress was serving me second portion of fries she accidentally dropped one of the fries into my glass. She apologized and said she will bring new glass however I didn’t get one once she left the table… overall the place has really nice atmosphere and food itself looks very picturesque however the steak is very average and the portion is very small

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for many years. It used to offer decent food with mediocre service, but it was worth the price. However, after my recent visit, I have no intention of returning. The entire experience felt like a money grab rather than a genuine dining experience. We were seated at a table where one of us had to stare directly at a column marked with warning signs—hardly a pleasant view. The tables are packed tightly together, making it uncomfortable to move or enjoy your meal. To make matters worse, the quality of the steak and fries has gone down, while the prices have gone up. What really sealed the deal for me was the service: the waitresses repeatedly tried to clear our plates before we were even finished eating, clearly trying to rush us out to make room for the next guests. Unfortunately, it’s a big no from me.

I go to this restaurant at least once a month. I don’t need to tell you much as the 1 hour queue outside tells the story better than any words. The service is very french so be prepared for aggression. The vibe is cute and the house red is a must order. Pro tip: get a cheeseboard for your starter and ask for extra Brie (It’s the softest thing you’ll ever eat). another pro tip: do not order well done and make sure to add salt and pepper to everything on your plate.

Getting was quick despite the long queue. We got in early and were let in in the first wave. But once we were in, we were sat down and given salad and bread. Then nothing for 35 minutes. Meanwhile the people next to us were given their first and second lot served to them. I was surprised at this as it would make more sense to serve everyone their first lot before starting to give those who are halfway through their first plate, their second plate. The plates are really small. So it’s a good trick in that they make you feel like you are getting one free portion but actually it’s 1 portion split into two parts. With the meat part actually being just one steak. You end up getting full from the bread and the chips. The salad is so mustardy, just like harsh mustard with a hint of mayonnaise all over the lettuce leaf, not in a nice delicate manner but like smothered in it. The steak is tender and the sauce is nice but to be honest not all that. I think I prefer the steak and the sauce from Flat-Iron. There is a Flat Iron just around the corner from this place which I recommend more if you want a good steak for better price and better atmosphere sbs better service. The atmosphere is also loud and uncomfortable. Tables are literally no more than 15cm from each other so you feel like you are totally on top of your fellow diners. People are not being particularly loud but because of the high celling and the shape of the room the noise is unbearable. Lastly the service was bad. As I said it took about 35 minutes for our food to be served to us. We also asked for salt and the waitress looked put out and told us to get it from the table next to us, which was awkward as we were already pretending that there was more space between us and the couple next to us so the thought of having to ask them to pass the salt was too awkward. To sum up: food is overpriced. Atmosphere is loud and crowded and not relaxing or romantic or fun. It’s like being at the airport. Service is embarrassing.

If you want steak and chips and only steak and chips, Le Relais de Venise is a good choice. No reservations are taken. It's first come, first served and there is always a queue. Don't let the queue put you off, it moves fast and you'll soon be at the front of the line thanks to the almost conveyor belt-like treatment of diners inside. The restaurant is packed to the point where some tables need to be moved out (not just the chairs!) to let people in behind to sit down. Once you're seated, your order is taken in terms of how you want your steak cooked and any drinks. We'd recommend their house red as a perfect accompanying drink with the steak. You're swiftly presented with a starter of a mustard heavy, lettuce and walnut salad that's quickly followed up with a small plate of your steak and chips (shoestring fries). Their signature green sauce is nice but not something that I'd return specially for. You'll quickly wonder where your food has gone as the portion is small but, they'll soon come top you up with 1 more portion of steak and chips. They have a long dessert menu. We tried the sticky toffee pudding and enjoyed that a lot as something that wasn't overly sweet as it sometimes can be. However, portion was small again. In total we were in there for no more than about an hour. Overall for the price we paid against the amount we ate and the quality of the food, it wasn't great value for money. I left still feeling like I could have eaten more. I would instead recommend Flat Iron as a better alternative that's good value for money.

Got here 20 minutes before 12 and was first in the door. I’d heard good things but was a bit worried as sometimes online hype doesn’t live up! Was sat immediately down and was out of the door in 50 minutes having eaten so much steak and wow that salad- recipe please!! Was confused by no steak knife until I got the meat which fell apart and was delicious. The only slight negative was that it was so small it wasn’t possible to put my coat back on when sat at the table and the tables are so close together you feel like you are sharing a table as you will hear everything the next table is saying.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have a great experience here. From the moment we arrived, we didn’t feel very welcomed — the staff were quite dismissive and seemed in a rush to get us out as quickly as possible. The seating was very cramped, with tables packed tightly together and barely any space between other diners. Our table wasn’t stable either, which made it quite uncomfortable. As for the food, the steak was okay, but nothing special. The sauce tasted a lot like Marmite — very strong and mustardy, so definitely one of those flavours you either love or hate. Sadly, the food wasn’t served hot, which was disappointing. It was a nice touch that you’re offered a little refill afterwards, but this too was lukewarm. Overall, for £30 each, I wouldn’t say it’s worth the money. There are much better places to enjoy a good steak and a welcoming atmosphere.

We have been in this restaurant regularly and the food is amazing. For the first time last night whilst queuing to get in, my sister who is type 1 diabetic was experiencing a low blood sugar. We asked the manager Monica for something sugary, she did come back out. Security then suggested we buy a drink from the bar opposite. I then went and asked for a chair for my sister to sit on- which they did, however during this time we were treated as if we were trying to queue jump which was not the case at all. The manager - Monica said to us, "if she's having a low why are you still waiting in the queue, you should be looking for somewhere else to eat". Of course, if a diabetic is having a low, they cannot go anywhere, they need to be seated and given something sugary. I was so appalled by her response, I went into the restaurant and asked for her name which she was hesitant to give to me and I explained how a diabetic can not be walking around London looking for another restaurant whilst having a low, she needs to be looked after. We did still eat in there as it is one of favourite restaurants. My Dad politley tried talking to her and perhaps educate her on diabetes. Her response was " we're not a hospital so perhaps that's where she should have gone " and also said it wasn't a matter of life or death" But if left untreated could be a matter of life or death. Another poor response from this so called manager. My Dad then asked Monica for her name and email address- thus was sent over to us by a waitress and the manager herself. As we were leaving, Monica approached my other sister who was with us to tell her she would be reporting us to head office as we were concerned for my sisters health by asking for the assistance from the staff. Monica has absolutely no customer service skill's. Being the manager we would expect to be first aid trained. What a shame as this is a great restaurant. All other staff were lovely, friendly and were trying to accommodate for my sister.

We found the restaurant busy, and with significant queues to get in initially. Once inside the conditions are cramped and hectic. The beleaguered waitresses rush as fast as they can to keep up. The main meal consists of a small portion of steak combined with a large helping of burnt french fries. This is repeated later on although the total amount of meat is still relatively small per head and the fries remain resolutely overdone. To finish, a rushed and careless waitress from the next table flicks a tablecloth and covers two of us head first with a significant showering of table salt, pretending not to realise. Ultimately a bill is received that is as expensive as that of a normal a la carte steak house whilst having enjoyed an overall experience similar to that of a provincial McDonald's during the school holidays. The desserts were actually the high point, being varied and authentic.

I, nor for the OH, have actually gotten around to visiting the renowned Paris restaurant, so I decided to put amends to that. Let me tell you, don't be fooled by other reviews telling you that the line moves quickly. 2 hours waiting in line on a Friday night no less, with numb toes, but despite this, we remained in good spirits (as were others who were queuing). lt was also incredibly entertaining watching the incredulous expressions when people turned around to see how far back the queue snaked. Note, if you are queuing, the restaurant next door (Caldesi) has a hatch where you can order takeaway drinks whilst waiting in line. Absolute genius! Thankfully when we got to the door we were seated quite quickly which was great, as the group in front of us (who was also a group of 4) had to watch couples leapfrog ahead of them whilst waiting for an appropriate table to become availabile. Once you're sat, it's a pretty slick and smooth operation. As everyone is fed the same fare, food comes out quick, which was great as our stomachs were howling! First up is the walnut salad. You have to like mustard to enjoy this, for me this was fine, for my group unfortunately not, so the baguette went down a treat for them. The piste of resistance, the steak and fries. The steak is cut thin and cooked well, the sauce, although nice, I was expecting more wow. Regardless, we devoured everything on our plates Be warned the portions aren't overly big, and the 2nd serving is more like leftovers that's divided between the table. I'm confused how people are stuffed, as we still had quite a lot of room left for desserts. Speaking of, last up, the desserts. Omg wow!! Now I'm not much of a cream person but I had a hankering for the strawberry tart with cream, (I got a mix of strawberries and raspberries) it was not overly sweet nor heavy, my gosh it was just perfect. The verdict for the creme brulee and profiteroles were exactly the same. The staff was great, the atmosphere buzzing, and wine was good. So was it worth the 2 hour wait? In short, no! If I was in the area and the queue was short, then maybe yes.

Steak is good, fries is superb. They only do rare, medium and well done i believe. The rare one however in my opinion closer to medium rare so it's safe to choose this if that's what you like. It costed 31 pounds (as of February 2025) and that will get you 2 servings fo steak and fries. I arrived 15 minutes before its open and get a seat right when they opened.

I totally don’t get the high rating of this branch! The fries was very oily and tasted like it was rewarmed, the steak was very mediocre, and all of this with a queue of more than hour, one of my worse experiences of all times

The food was impeccable. The beef fillets are fantastic, the garnish very tasty and the fries perfect. They also fill your plate a second time. We waited 45 minutes to enter, the food rewarded us. However, the tables are unfortunately very close to each other.

Waiting in line is quite difficult, I admit. The restaurant is closed from 3 to 6 PM, and then it opens until the evening closing time. When your first plate is finished, your second plate will be added. Don’t judge the portions for being small. As for the wine, they only have the restaurant’s own wine. It’s ideal, but not amazing.

My friend brought me to this restaurant, a place they clearly knew well, and I went in with no expectations. Arriving just before opening, we joined a pre-existing queue, but thankfully, the wait wasn't too long. However, any initial optimism quickly faded once inside. The first impression was less of a restaurant and more of a bustling office canteen during lunch hour. Tiny tables were crammed together, creating an atmosphere where you felt intimately acquainted with complete strangers. The fixed menu meant no decision-making, and the service was efficient, if impersonal. Waitresses moved with machine-like precision, delivering plates in a rapid, almost conveyor-belt fashion. The steak itself was decent, but that's where the positives ended. There was a distinct lack of attention to detail in the presentation and overall experience. The noise level was overwhelming, a direct result of the restaurant's attempt to maximize seating by placing tables mere centimeters apart. My booth seat, in particular, proved a logistical nightmare. Exiting required a complex maneuver involving the neighboring diners, who had to physically shift their table to allow me to escape. The dessert was a profound disappointment. A scoop of generic, supermarket-style vanilla ice cream with a choice of toppings hardly qualifies as a dessert. It felt like an afterthought. For a fixed menu of steak and chips, a mediocre dessert, and a bottle of sparkling water, we paid £45 each. Frankly, it wasn't worth it. This restaurant prioritizes volume over experience, resulting in a functional feed rather than a pleasurable dining occasion. If you're looking for a relaxed, intimate meal with attention to detail, this is definitely not the place.

I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Le Relais de Venise. After dining there, I unfortunately ended up with food poisoning, which I suspect was caused by the dessert I had. I felt fine throughout the meal, but within a few hours of leaving, I started feeling terribly ill. The restaurant didn’t seem to take proper precautions with food safety. This is an unacceptable experience, and I will not be returning. I strongly advise others to be cautious when considering this place.

I always go to this place and many times have been to the restaurant in Geneva, but the security outside of the restaurant who controls the queue outside of the restaurant is very rude. I was standing in a queue and he tried to made me come closer to the couple in front of me so there is almost no space between me and them. Plus was waving with his hands in front of my face to attract my attention. I never leave comments, but this is too much . When I made step towards another couple to satisfy his it seem still not enough and tried to make me almost stay like 10 cm away from them, so I said I’m happy with this distance, thank you and he was like no come closer, I said no thank you I’m happy with this distance and he was still insisting.. where the distance was minimal already. Please have a look into this as people like that are not supposte to work with other people. Plus waving in front of my face, seems very rule and aggressive including the fact that I am a woman and was standing there on my own . I want to see if he would act like that if I’d big a big man. It happened 15th of Feb 2025 at 13:15 outside of London’s branch.

Exceptional Service and Warm Hospitality! I had the pleasure of dining at “Le Relais de Venise L'Entrecote - Marylebone” recently, and I must say that the service provided by “Dora” was outstanding. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel welcome with her warm smile and friendly attitude. She was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive, and she gave excellent recommendations that made our dining experience even more enjoyable. Despite the restaurant being busy, she remained professional, efficient, and always had a positive attitude. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality, and “Dora” truly made our evening special. I highly recommend visiting “Le Relais de Venise L'Entrecote - Marylebone” asking for her if you want a top-notch dining experience. We will definitely be back!

This has been on the list for a while and I visited with my daughter. We were mentally prepared for a queue but were seated immediately at 1245. (It was a wet Sunday and there was a queue when we left). You don't get a whole lot of personal space, and the overall feel is cheap, paper table cloth for example. Once seated we were quickly served our salad which was nice (strong on the mustard sauce) and bread. We took our own butter 🤣. Not long after Steak, chips and sauce arrived, all of which were cooked well and tasted good. Once your plate is clean you get a second helping 😁. We had puddings which were both good, meringue tower thingy and tarte au Citron.

Worth every second of the wait. Went on a Monday night, waited about 20 minutes. Was an incredible meal of steak and chips! The sauce was the star of the show and really tied it all together. Visited on a Saturday night and joined the queue at 6pm. Didn't get in until 7:30pm and it was freezing cold. The security at the queue were friendly and chatty. Once we were in there was a lovely atmosphere, staff were really welcoming and nice. The starter was a salad with a mustard dressing and walnuts and came with bread. We had two plates of chips and steak. Steak was lovely and came in a really nice sauce. Had a pudding between the two of us, and beer and soft drink and it came to £89 with the service included. Was nice but wouldn't go again as the excitement wore off after this visit, specially with the very long wait.

I thought this place was very average. Not worth the queues in my opinion. The sauce was very underseasoned. I had to add lots of salt. You only get two servings which is not a lot. The best thing was the creme brulee. That was delicious. Other than that, I personally didn't think the food was all that.

One of my all time favorites in London. The steak is tender and the fries are crispy and the steak sauce is on point. The service is usually pretty good and once you’re seated, you’re tended to pretty quickly. Their salad and especially salad dressing is also a crowd favorite. The atmosphere of the restaurant is clean and very vibrant and the fact that all staff wear the same uniform, makes the place look very professional. Their desserts are a great ending to the experience and I’ve never come out of there unsatisfied. The only downside is that if you are not super early you have to wait in a line outside to enter. They do have space heaters outside for the people in standing in the line near the entrance but most times the line is rather long and may take a while before you’re under the space heaters. All and all, a great place to eat and definitely recommended.

The food was ok as was the service. Pretty disappointing given the 3 stars. They offered other patrons a walk through the kitchen along with signed menus and I didn’t get offered either. I wasn’t given a menu even though that’s customary for 3 star spots in my experience. As far as the food goes, I thought the dishes were composed well but were lacking in flavor substantially
