The service at this restaurant is top-notch, fast and very effecient with waiting staff working seamlessly as a team to ensure a delightful dining exeprience. The steak and fries were cooked perfectly and the homemade dressing was so so tasty! A second serving of steak and fries, yes please! The salad and the baguette were great too! I tried the profiteroles and tower dessert and both hit the spot! It was worth waiting in line outside to get in

Yep good steak and frites. The sauce is amazing. You wont leave hungry. Lots of fries and steak available. Also get a salad and bread to start. Very good value for money.

I treated my Daughter and her partner to a meal for her 18th birthday today , she was very excited as she normally loves this restaurant, however today she traveled all the way to London from Kent. when the food came out she was told they had no fries, they didn’t explain this to her before they seated her, and didn’t offer any discount, very disappointed as we have been using this restaurant for years , won’t be going back unfortunately as I feel they took advantage of them as they are young

The food was great and tasty. Everyone is allowed a second round of food serving. That was a plus!! Even though place was packed, the service was great.

The sauce and meat are good but not amazing nor worth the queue or the price. We’ve been to similar style steak houses with much better tasting meat.

The food is great, but the queuing is ridiculous. Why can’t you take bookings? If you have any sort of plans other than going to this restaurant, then cancel them or leave the queue and look elsewhere because you can’t do two things that evening. We queued a hour today and had to leave as we had tickets for a comedy show. Take bookings, no one likes the queuing!

Food is really spot-on, I loved the steak and the sauce. they have a good gluten free dessert choice, le gateau, so fragrant and velvety. The interior is elegant and classic French, lovely atmosphere. I definitely recommend and would go back! Best to start queuing 10-15 mins before opening Service was quite rushed; the space is quite crammed and lots of people & waiting staff constantly running around made it not so relaxing to dine in but maybe that’s just personal preference & it’s part of the charm 😁

I have been to many L'Entrecotes. The food was good but its better in Toulouse. Our Waitress barely even said hello. Just took our order. Plates are very small but warmed up which was good.

Idem que l’entrecôte à Montpellier ou Lyon : petite salade aux noix - bœuf tanché fin - sauce mystère et frites. Service au top. Lieu type brasserie. Queue dans la rue car pas de réservations. Bref : vous voulez manger une bonne pièce de bœuf cuite selon votre demande ? C’est là qu’il faut aller.

I visited this establishment for a luncheon on a weekend. Although there was a queue, we were able to be seated promptly as it was just opening. The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, and I appreciated the use of table covers for quick turnaround. The food was generally good, with the desserts being particularly noteworthy. However, I found the serving size for the steak to be somewhat small, and the price was slightly higher than average. Overall, I had a positive experience and would consider returning in the future.

It used to be much better. Now it feels more like a tourist trap. Overpriced, cold steak, only the frites were warm. They might have changed ingredients on the sauce, it was pretty blah, it used to have a more complex flavor and a slightly more acidity. The wine was OK. Almost £100 for a mediocre meal, including the house wine, is not great value. On top of that, they bring you the bill even before you finish eating and they come often with the machine asking if you are ready to pay. It will be a while before I come back, if at all. I am going to look for other entrecôte alternatives.

We read all the various 1 star and 2 star reviews and still visited. We were lucky as it was the easter weekend so we only had to queue for 20mins. Was it worth it? 100% Yes! Staff were extremely kind and accommodating. Food definitely tasted exceptional. Portions? Definitely enough! Realistically speaking… for £31 per person in London, that amount of portion of food and that tasty it’s definitely hard to find these days. No complaints at all!

It's a bit of a unique experience dining at a French-style steak restaurant. They have one item on the menu, steak (either rare, medium or well-done) with fries and sauce (served in two rounds) and a sallad as an appetizer. At nearly £40 it's quite expensive but you come and visit more for the experience than the food.

Don’t follow the hype, the 1 hour (or even more) long queue is not worth the mediocrity of the meal. A salad that is drenched in more mustard than you could possibly imagine and a steak that comes completely bland and unseasoned. The sauce was average. Chips were quite nice and so were some of the desserts. Overall absolutely not worth it for the £31 you pay.

The service was slow, the food was average and they were very unreasonable when wanting to query a matter. Also , before we had finished they brought us the bill. I am never going there again and I have told my friends not to go there.

Been here several times thanks to work and the experience has changed little over the years. The meal is a salad of lettuce and walnuts with a main of steak and chips with a sauce. That’s it. Deserts are different with a lengthy menu but for your mains and starters, that’s everything. Literally. No ketchup or mayo and staff can be quite short, borderline rude, if you ask. It is also very cramped and quite loud but even so there are regular queues around the corner outside and even security on the door. Come early and be aware of the scenario, you’ll be fed well.

We had to queue and wait for about 20 mins which was fine and confirmed that this news fact a fairly good choice I had half a bottle of house red which was dear but delicious. There is no menu - you get a slake with wants and house dressing with warm baguette slices - both were delicious You then get steak and fried with the house sauce - you also get a second helping. I found the steak, fries and sauce to be excellent! The steak I had was blue and perfectly tender and wonderfully cooked and sliced. The sauce was fantastic and very tasty, perfectly paired with a mountain of crispy homemade fries I had a coffee to finish and found the experience to be very good!

The portion of steak is very small. It's not very smart to pay that much for french fries. Moreover, there was a hair in my fries (clearly visible in the photo) and nothing was done to compensate except for changing the plate.

Visited Le Relais in Marylebone lane last week - interesting little walk if you go to Bond st station and walk all the way down the lane to the restaurant from Oxford Street. Arrived just before 12:00 and surprised to see a queue of a dozen customers waiting to get in . So was shown to my table , all waitresses are dressed in black with white pinafore , the restaurant became full after about 40 minutes - There is only one dish on the menu , steak with the 'secret' sauce and frits . I asked for medium rare - they only do Blue ,Rare, Medium , or well done , I chose rare , the waitress told me , remember its French cooking so rare means rare !!! - a quaint touch is that they write what your steak is in the tablecloth . A green and walnut salad was served first , this could have been crisper but was really tasty - I had a couple of glasses of house red which went well. The steak arrived with frits in place and was indeed rare but hot and delicious . The waitress first takes your food to a serving station and actually gibes you about two thirds of your meal , then as your about to finish this she serves the balance ! . I really enjoyed this meal and the experience , ambience was good and service was great as was the food - Try it , but I dont think you can book ??

I think this place is a tad overrated. We got there just before 6 pm on a weekday and even though there was a line, we were given a table for two right away. The salad dressing was too mustardy, but the baguette was fresh and tasty. The steak frites were okay, but some of the steak was really chewy, and I had to add extra salt and I don’t feel like there was enough sauce. They serve the food fast, but before I could even finish half of my first plate, the waitress brought out the second serving. Atmosphere was loud and buzzy, and tables are extremely close to one another. Experience overall felt quite rushed.

The meat and sauce are good, but not worth the line. Most customers spend over twice as long waiting than at the restaurant - the food is served in a rush and you’re basically asked to leave once you had your last bite. Besides the wait, we had an unpleasant situation while queuing in which the group behind us spilled beer all over our trousers. We were already in front of the door and no measurements were taken by the staff. It was our second time at the restaurant, but in both cases we left with the same impression: good food, poor service.

I wanted to visit this place for a long time and finally decided to go, but it was really disappointing experience. Firstly , all the tables so close to each other, very difficult to walk and sit down , this place definitely not for you if you want to have a conversation without everyone else to hear it. Secondly , I didn’t like the food , fries were too oily , meat was overcooked , I asked for a medium ,but it was almost well-done . Also , the portions of meat were so small , they pretend that they bring a second portion, although in reality it is only half a portion each time ( portions of fries were generous though ) . The sauce was nothing special as well as wine. I really disappointed , I had too high expectations . There are so much better places in London with the same style, so I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Renowned for steak fries and salad on the tap, the steak is nice not over cooked it was nice and tasty great value as they keep bringing over. However smart marketing 3/4 of the plate is chips, the salad was fresh and crunchy. The profiteroles were tasty. It’s an okay to tasty meal but definitely over hyped for what it is, not worth the lines.

No frills Parisian style brasserie. Delicious walnut salad followed by steak frites (with seconds) and a good helping of house wine makes for a fabulous lunch. The queue moves quickly and you can also have a beer whilst you wait from the pub across the street. Friendly and efficient service, they flip tables quickly. Very touristy, but worth it.

Have been enjoying their superb dish for past 29 years. Amazing culinary treat.

Quite the irony, eating steak whilst being treated like cattle. Long queue- 1.5hrs. Inattentive staff, who, upon seeing you scrape up your last morsel of cold steak, rush you out the door. Awful acoustics inside the restaurant, could not hear myself think. Overall NOT worth it. The food is mediocre at best and it's not worth your dignity just to show your ig friends where you had dinner- because I truly believe that's the only reason these guys are busy.

My to go steak shop whenever i crave. (when i used to live in London.) best of the best for steak! Always perfect! Never let me down.Very friendly staff and the chef is amazing! Thank you so much guys! See you again for sure!

The place is temporarily closed for refurbishment- updated 14th January 2024 One of my favourite restaurants :) no matter how long we wait in a queue it always worth the wait.

Average, there is better out there, that you don’t need to que for. Got there at 5:30 with 63 people already in the que. What didn’t realise was that a lot of them were holding the que for others. Including a table of 14! We missed the first sitting and had to wait for another hour until some of the first sitting had finished eating. Service is surly at best, and rude at times. Food was average with quite a small helping of steak. Is it worth standing in the cold for almost two hours? ABSOLUTLY not. Cost for two meals and a bottle of house red was £108 and they wanted our table back after 50 mins.

Came here on Saturday morning around 11:45am to wait for the first round dine in. It opens at 12:30. There is a long queue of people waiting though. Great business model for simple food (Steak, Fries and salad) with secret steak sauce. The steak is good with the unique sauce. I didn’t eat the fries but you would dip it with the sauce. I didn’t have a great mood that morning so the eating appetite was impacted too. I appreciate the good intention to bring me over to try this No 1 ranking steak on the list from my friend. If you are the steak lover. Come earlier to avoid the long queue. Recommended.

Just like the original one is Paris! The steak and fries with the magic sauce was so delicious. It was the same concept with the green salad with a classic dressing and walnuts. Then for the steak, all they ask is how you want it cooked. The waitresses were dressed in the old school traditional way. And let’s not forget the “second service”- they come round once everyone is almost finished and add more to your plate! The only complaint I would have were the toilets were not very clean. You can’t reserve, so make sure you get there early to queue up!

Delicious. This was exactly what I expected and more. The salad and bread as a starter was perfect and the mustard dressing in the salad is delicious, it’s the perfect thing to start off with. The steak and fries was quickly brought out upon finishing the starter and it didn’t disappoint. The fries were crisp and well cooked with the steak also being cooked exactly how I asked for it. I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect with their sauce but it was lovely and the perfect addition. I found the portion sizes to be perfect too. The staff were extremely efficient without compromising on the service. I arrived just before opening on a weekday and was able to get into the first sitting easily. The staff were helpful and polite and the atmosphere was pleasant. I will definitely be going back and can’t get enough of this steak!

👍🏻The beef is good quality, and the chips are addictive. 😑But the portion is just like a flank cut of 150g served twice. 👍🏻Creme brulee for dessert was creamy. 😑They should mention the salad with mustard dressing because only some people like mustard, not me. 👍🏻They serve high efficiency; they serve the second round once we finish the first round. 😑On the other hand, the staff members are just like robots. The way they are busy is astonishing. They have no more time to talk to you. Everything must finish in time, and even if you do not complete your meal, the staff will place the bill on your table because they want to serve the new customers they're waiting outside. 😑The tables are very dense; we're forced to share the household affairs of the lady sitting next to me. They wish to give you a warm atmosphere, but the dense ambience, the surround sound from the table next to me, the tight pace and the mechanical operation can't make us feel comfortable. 😑Not worth the price ~ It has many better choices for this price. I had to wait a long time for only a small portion of steak and chips, which were served in an uncomfortable atmosphere. So, this is not a place we'd visit again.

They dont take bookings. You gotta stand in whatever the weather is for a very long time. Not worth it. Don't go.

Average steak and portion is small. You get a lot of fries though. The sauce is good but they were quite stingy with it and it’s nothing super special (it’s like a mushroom & wine creamy sauce). The red house wine was good. The service is terrible. You get rushed to eat after waiting a long time outside in the queue. Plus, you’re squeezed between tables, very close to the tables next to us. You can’t really relax and enjoy the meal.

Awful and awfully overpriced. Felt like a cattle market. Unfriendly staff. Conveyor belt service. Tables no more than 3cm apart. Unbelievably noisy, given the excessive crowdedness. Food was flavourless with bizarre green sauce. Nearly fell off my chair for paying almost 100€ for a few strips of meat, potatoes, a tiny side salad and two cokes. Never again.

Let me start by saying there was a 10 minute wait at the door - so expect a short wait. It’s worth it. I’ve visited its sister establishment in France and left here far more enthused than in France. Service was stellar- Marta was so informed and accommodating. She picked the perfect wines for us based on her expertise and recommendations. The quality of food was superb and we couldn’t have asked for more on a date night in London. They do not do “mid” temps on steak so as a medium rare steak eater myself, I would recommend the medium preparation. It was perfect. Will be back.

A long line of people waiting to be served… disgraceful service!!!!

Disgusting experience. Service shocking, food way below average. They have become so arrogant because of the throngs of people that line up to eat the most limited menu on earth that they ooze an almost arrogant disdain for customers. The fries and sauce were same as always, steaks were pathetic. Service was so so bad, but couldn’t really have a go as the waitress was working hard.

We enjoyed every aspect of our meal. The steak, chips and sauce are fantastic. The sticky toffee pudding is a excellent dessert choice.

We had to wait for about an hour in order to get in but… it was totally worth it! Food is really good and you get to enjoy it not once but twice!

Does one thing and does it well

We queued outside for about 1.5 hours and made friends with the couple in front. It was a very cold evening and we were frozen and ready for the meal when we were seated. Door staff and queue management was ok. If you miss the rush for the first seating, you have about an hour's wait for the next. Overall, the food was good but rather average- it didn't make us want to jump up and scream "omg we need to come back again!". The steak was ok for its cut but not the best I've had. The salad was decent but not memorable, and the sauce on the steak was ok. The staff was attentive and friendly and I did not feel rushed at any time. For us it was a one-and-done kind of thing. Not bad, but not worth the hype.

This was probably the most noisy restaurant I went to. But the steak and fries remain the steak and fries. Comfort food at its finest. Would go there in any country.

Arrived early before the restaurant opened to que. Lucky enough, we were able to get a table when they opened. Salad, steak, and fries were good. Creme brulee for dessert was light and creamy. House red wine was perfect with the meal. We had a good time, thank you.

As witnessed by the queue that gathers shortly after opening time, this is a exceptional place to get lunch. No menu - steak, chips, a rich pepper sauce and a good red wine is all that is on offer - but if that's your beef (sorry) then you'll get it served in ample proportions and possibly twice. Get there midday and you should easily get a seat. Clean good food, but leave your vegetarian friends at home.

We always go to this restaurant when in London it absolutely great from the food to the lovely staff. Simple no menu restaurant you have salad to start with this lovely dijon mustard then steak and fries wound full and so tasty. And last time we went in December they even paid our bill how special is that x

Food was amazing. Service was not bad, but not great. People who came at least 5 minutes later were served before us. All tables except ours had salt and pepper. When we asked for salt, the waitress rudely said that we need to ask other tables to share theirs.

We are not quite sure why there are so many negative reviews. We visited the restaurant on Throgmorton Street in October 2023 and decided to try the restaurant on Marylebone Lane. Yes, we did have to wait an hour before being seated, but we knew we would have to queue. The menu is basic, but that's the point. You get a small salad, some bread and then a choice of how you want your steak cooked. When you finish, you get the option of a second helping, and for £29.00 per person in London, it is excellent value for money. If you like steak frites, we highly recommend visiting the restaurant.

Very reliable institution. Excellent at what they do and fast, efficient service. Recommend arriving in the queue at 11:45am for minimal queueing time before first lunch service.

It’s worth the wait. Get there at least an hour prior to opening to guarantee a seat during the first service. The Entrecôte steak and fries come in two servings, provided to you by the waitresses directly to your plate. For the steak, you can choose to have it Blue, Rare, Medium or Well Done (not medium rare). Note that it is a French restaurant, so ‘Medium’ here would be classified as ‘Medium-Rare’ by most British people. The sauce is delicious. I don’t know how to describe it exactly, but the best I can do is to get you to imagine ‘Thai Green curry, but in a Peppercorn steak sauce format’. The green salad is a good starter, with a simple mustard dressing, and not too strong. No complaints with service. Very attentive. The atmosphere is warm and plain. Tight, but not claustrophobic.

Menu rapide - proper French steak frites in a vibrant environment with decent wine. Not somewhere for a leisurely lunch as they turn you round quickly.

The food is just OK definitely definitely not worth over 1 hour queue on a Tuesday. I love the concept tho, which I’ve tried already in HK in a different format. The place is busy and very loud, makes it hard to have a normal conversation without shouting to each other plus the tables are so close to each other that’s impossible to have privacy.

The worst customer experience amongst the other locations. They must seriously look at their service team including management!!

Nice experience with yummy steak. I had to wait for an hour to get in from 6pm but it was worth it. It’s very busy but warm family vibes inside. They only have one menu and top up steak & cheap twice. Wine is great pairing and dessert was good. There was still a long queue when I got out of it around 8.30pm.

Worth it but plan ahead. Plan on two hours of queue time if you do not hit it at the right time. Yes the queue wraps around to the street behind. The security guard will let you know where to get in line. Food is great and worth the wait. Locals in line can be rude if you are not a local. Caldesi Italian next door has a drink window so one can have a beverage while waiting. Make sure you are hungry.

Delicious steak (rare) and fries, loved the 2nd portion. Enjoyed the salad starter and also the blackcurrant sorbet to follow, light but with a helpful scoop of vanilla ice-cream to balance the sharpness of the fruit! This place is a winner. You can't book, so rock.up on good time to eat close to the time you want. The one negative element was the temperature in the restaurant, which was on the cold side. I wish I had worn my ultra thick jumper, or not sent my coat to be hung up elsewhere. Otherwise, all great!

Ce restaurant ne justifie en aucun cas le prix de 100 € que nous avons payé à deux. Attente de 45 minutes, viande moyenne accompagnée d'une ABONDANCE de frites pour 30 €. De plus, le dessert n'était pas à la hauteur. Si j'avais déboursé la moitié du prix, j'aurais attribué 3 étoiles. Un rapport qualité-prix très décevant.

The food was amazing and affordable. Simple menu, excellent execution. The atmosphere is a little bit hectic but with their table turnaround it's inevitable! Would highly recommend.

Had to use a kilogram of salt and the steak still didn’t taste good. The sauce is basically just mustard. Waiting time was almost 2h. Not worth it. At all.

To busy for any kind of meaningful interaction with the staff, but they do their job, you get your food, then you leave. The food was good but not amazeballs, had a nice time, won't go again for what it was, the queuing and all... Be careful with the horseradish mustard on the table, PACKS A PUNCH lol.

Upon waiting an hour and a half to enter the restaurant I expected far better service. When I asked for more chips, the lady reacted with great disdain, I felt like Oliver Twist asking for more. Portion sizes are tiny, and all of the waitresses are rude. The food is not good enough to warrant the hype.

Steak is cooked perfectly, and the chips are so good that I think I enjoyed them more than the steak its self, especially with the sauce you get, incredible. Two portions is fun but feels a little novel as the size of the portion both times is a little small.. we also got a dessert, which was extremely tasty, and we immediately wanted another. Service is friendly and fast, as soon as my plate was finished they'd stacked it up again. And although it's sort of part of the experience, queueing for near 2 hours wasn't great, and to be so tightly packed in that the people sat around us had to move their entire table for us to get in and out wasn't fun.

Nice food, great lack of choice (you’re getting salad then steak and chips, plus seconds), but they’ve overpriced it. £28 is ridiculous for essentially Angus steak house food.

A restaurant with limited choice of steak, frits, and salad. All presented well by efficient staff. Drinks are reasonably priced and a sweet selection. Steak cooked perfectly to your choice. Well worth visiting.

Small space , good prices, long queues

It's not worth queuing for more than an hour to eat in rush some salad with walnuts, two small plates with lots of french fries and only four small, thin slices of meat. A glass of wine each and desserts still frozen inside!!! Priced at £103.70!!!! Never again

Waited for 1hr 20 ish......Great value for money for £29 you get a starter of a really nice flavourful salad with a nice vinegar sort of taste or winey taste with walnuts all goes well together.Baggette included, definitely worth it to get wine .Made it just on time before closing the que bang on the dot at 3 30 .WORTH IT spotted on tiktok and 3 weeks later i went with a mate very nice day thanks! spent around 75 for 2 people

We waited an hour to be seated only to have chips shoved on our plate and poor quality steak. The waiter started giving seconds while our plates we’re half full and tried to remove them before we’d finished. Small plates, very rushed . We wouldn’t go back.

Great restaurant lovely food and staff. Reason for giving 4/5 is that I noticed when going downstairs, the hallway had a funny smell so I checkout the hygiene rating and it was 4/5 which for a restaurant this famous, it should be 5/5

I wouldn’t recommend this place if you like good portion sized meat. It’s mostly fries. The sauce is amazing but it’s barely 150g of meat! Desserts are die for. I’m verall I won’t be queuing up for an hour just to eat tiny portion of meat. I’d rather pay £30 for good sized rib eye steak

I have to agree with the increasingly negative reviews in that this restaurant is not what it used to be in both quantity and quality of food and service. I’ve been a regular at both the Paris branch for decades and visiting the Marylebone branch...

Food is alright, stake and sauce were good but nowhere near outstanding...thinly slices so it looks you get a lot but in reality the portions are just average. They come for a second round if you fancy(which we did, because you can and because that's the whole point, as they don't charge extra). We came in on the first round, and fine, we had to wait for some time but there is no way I would wait an extra hour out in the cold (or the hot, doesn't matter) for an average steak and fries. At least we went with out baby and the pram and they tried their best to put us in a nice place and not too inconvenient. Deserts were pretty poor if you ask me. Go once if you can to see what it is all about, but don't go back. Au revoir

Still busy with the queues but it's lost its spark, Salad was OK, steak was good, chips overcooked, sauce not as good as it was. Service was good but its rushed , very rushed....wouldn't go back and definitely wouldn't queue up to get in

Not as good as it was. We've been fairly regular customers over the years and always had a great experience. Today however, not so much. The steak wasn't as good as usual and the whole thing felt like we were an inconvenience to be rushed...

We have been coming to this particular restaurant for years as my husband absolutely loves the steak and sauce ! Sadly we have noticed over the last few years we have come less frequently. The reason for this is simple. You are being rushed ! Your meal is served, and before you have finished a second service is delivered regardless. Hot fries, with cold steak and sauce that has been left above a tea light to keep it warm. The air con is then cranked up at this point to encourage the customers to hurry their meal and leave ! The staff are lovely and have been told they have to do a quicker service than they are already doing !!! It’s such a shame. This company have completely lost site of providing good quality food with a unique experience ! They are clearly victims of their own success. !!!
