These guys provided free ice creams to refugee children at my place of work (thank you!). I tried their salted caramel and it was without doubt the best ice cream I have ever had so I had a second one! I will definitely visit with my grandson to try out the other flavours.

Lovely cozy cafe with an amazing selection of their freshly made ice cream. I chose the salted caramel which was served in a waffle cone. I can honestly say, its one of the most flavoursome ice creams I've tried. I'm going to make it my mission to go through the other lovely creations each time I'm in the area. Shame I didn't get to have the Halloween specials while I was there....

Hi - We popped in here yesterday as we got lost on a walk and it had started pouring down with rain. The place was very cosy with a lot of parents sitting around relaxing with their children. We were grateful for the refuge as this was not our local area. However, one thing to watch out for, I went to use their "facilities" which I was grateful for too, but when I went to wash my hands afterwards the water that came out of the tap was actually scalding hot. I got such a shock. I whipped my right hand away quickly and managed to turn the lever round to cold, but another 10 seconds my hand would have been badly burnt. It feels a bit sore today still. I think a warning sign up would be a VERY good idea!

This is a family owned café and ice cream shop which is very homey and serves excellent coffee, food and desserts. They always have a smile on their face and are extremely generous and kind, especially the owner Rowan and her son Tom, who makes all the ice cream. The flavours he makes are amazing, there's always something new and exciting to try. My idea with these kind of shops is that if its always busy and popular, it means its worth visiting. I'm always around this area and this is always busy and popular, so definitely give it a try!

Have stopped by on a few occasions and always held back from saying anything hoping things would change as I like to support local businesses. However the wrong attitude of Tom has happened too many times. He has been rude to my son of 8 on more then one occasion. There is a way to speak to customers. After we placed our order he was taking ages and just left our order. My son excitedly asked Tom when his milkshake would be ready as he had been waiting a long time tom snapped sternly “I WILL DO IT IN MY OWN TIME. YOUR GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT. BE PATIENT!!” Why not say something like “I know you have been waiting a while mate I will be doing it shortly and it will be worth waiting for” What else proves my point is 3 other customers approached us afterward and told us the guy serving was out of order by the way he spoke to my son of 8! He also purposely delayed serving my son. We have been to Cakes and Shakes around the corner and the owners Customer Service and friendliness skills are 100 times better. In addition the quality of the ice cream, food, drinks and cleanliness of Cakes and Shakes is far superior. Tom could learn a lot from them. If you have children I advise avoiding as we will be in future. I will advise anyone else I speak to to do the same.

It was a cold and wet Friday at the end of March and my wife and I were walking part of the Thames path. By chance we came across South Street coffee and ice cream shop and we were pleasantly surprised. The cafe is quirky, but we found it very homely and were soon relaxing on a comfortable sofa with a coffee and chocolate brownie (both excellent). There are amusing quotes chalked above the windows, and the cafe is very family orientated. If you're after a posh afternoon tea, this is not the place for you. If you just want to relax and take it easy then I would thoroughly recommend this cafe. (I'm afraid I can't comment on the ice cream - maybe on my next visit on a hot summers day).

Such places are rare in London and this cafe has made such a difference to Isleworth. The coffee is fantastic made by people that care about such things. The Ice Cream and flavours keep on getting better and better and most of the cakes are home made and delicious. If you want to avoid children don't come as school ends but it is lovely to have a somewhere where anyone can sit down and relax for a while, including new mums who may feel a bit isolated sometimes. We went there as we had heard good reviews and wanted to try their ice cream and coffee. We were initially greeted by the happy owner but the ice cream was not tasty at all, the strawberry had no flavour whatsoever. My mum tried a cappuccino and the coffee had a really bitter taste and when we asked to change both the coffee and the ice cream the owner just gave us a really dirty look and reluctantly changed it, we were then being stared at by both the owner and the worker and we felt really uncomfortable so we just paid and left.

Love love love their cakes and coffees and of course ice creams. Yes the service can be a bit flaky at times but I forgive South Street because it's kind of quirky and oh so relaxed. Only tiny negative comment I have is that their Mocha seems a bit overpriced at £3 compared to High Street coffee chains but value wise I would still rate it at a 5 as the rest of the menu is very reasonably priced. The first time we went it was a very hot summer day, and the ice cream was lovely, with a wide variety of flavours (I had brown bread!). However the first time the ice cream was a bit melty, and it was a struggle trying to keep your hands clean! The second time we sat down and was served by the lovely store owner Joyce. Warm day so I thought I'd pop in for an Ice Cream. Stood there and the lady failed to even acknowledge me. I'm not expecting the red carpet, but a simple acknowledgement that I was there would have been nice. Noticed she was waiting for another customer so that was fine.I waited a further few minutes for her to finish with the customer in front of me and a couple of more people lined up at the coffee counter. She straight away served them and ignored me completely. I decided to leave - maybe they selectively serve the kind of customers they want. I'm a big fan of supporting local business and even though It's expensive for what it is I thought the extra cost would be made up in service - I guess not. , I won't be going back here again.

This coffee shop looks really pretty from the outside but I wasn't convinced with my experience at all. My daughter had a cupcake (it was very small, so more of a fairy cake) which she had one bite of and left on her plate, saying that she didn't like it. I thought I'd be naughty and eat the rest but it was AWFUL. Literally inedible - the cake was totally stale. I actually spat the bite I had out into my napkin. I was willing to give the shop another go and so popped in the next day, which was gloriously hot, to sample the ice-cream. I noticed the same cupcakes as the day before still displayed on the stand, not covered or anything. Its no wonder it tasted so bad if they leave their cakes out on the counter all day. We tried to ice-cream and it was ok. Not bad but not great.. Next time I will be sticking with Danieli in Richmond. As we left the shop I noticed a fly on one of the croissants (also left out uncovered) so to sum up: the coffee here is ok and the ice-cream is ok but the freshness of the baked goods and hygiene standards are very poor.

I recently bought a few to a friends house (who doesnt live locally) and she loved them so much she went to South Street especially to get more supplies. Rowan knows people by name and is so dedicated to making everyone feel welcome, creating a really nice atmosphere to walk into. This is a rare independently owned cafe where the owner goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. Myself and friends go there to play bridge whenever we are free, which sadly is only about once in six weeks. We have been able to pre-order food which she will get in for us when not on her normal menu. The sausages and bacon are excellent. There are very few establishments who go out of their way for such irregular customers. Also, I love Flat White Coffees which they do exceptionally well here - could it be to do with the Barista hailing from New Zealand? The gift selection in the shop is well chosen - I always manage to find suitable cards and some lovely gifts. This place has a lovely, welcoming atmosphere where you can relax. South Street cafe was my second living room when I lived in Isleworth, up until 4 weeks ago. I have since moved to a lovely place with loads of cafes, but none compares to this, particularly in terms of friendliness, personal service, sense of humour, and delicious homemade cakes. I usually visited with 2 young children in tow, and the staff could not have been more eager to make them happy: exactly what I needed. On the occasions I sneaked off to the cafe alone for a restorative latte and magazine read, I found the cafe equally welcoming. I think Rowan (see, first name terms now!) has done a fantastic job of making the cafe a central part of the Old Isleworth community, and I hope the cafe is around for a long time to come. We also had my daughter's 4th birthday party here and the kids were all very happy about that!

Romantic South Street Cafe is not. However, it fulfils an altogether different role in the life of Isleworth. It has become a vibrant hub of life for the newborn, for children, parents, grandparents, non-parents, dog owners, and all others. It is a place where I feel welcomed, always, a place where I will get a good, homemade lunch at a reasonable price, a place where I can discuss issues of the day and the latest ice cream flavours. It has become a hub of inventive activity, thanks to Rowan and her enthusiastic team, where dinners, exhibitions, parties and shopping are held. A traditional coffee and ice cream shop in the heart of the community. I go each Friday with my children from school as do many others, packed in the summer, a testament to the delicious ice cream and children's penchant for it. If you don't have children avoid the end of the school day as its very child friendly. Rowan is lovely as are all the staff. Nice place to hang out during the day, I occasionally 'work from home' with my laptop. Would like to see a wider 'proper food' menu as its currently more treats than eats.

You're always sure to get a smile when you walk in and the ice cream is seriously good. Very child friendly (a bonus for me). This place is not even a year old, yet it has established itself as a community hub. This is largely down to its fantastic staff and owner who are always welcoming and open to new ideas about special events and interesting menu additions. As for Marlumus's review - utter tosh. i've visited South Street two or three times since it opened however i would be in there everyday if the food wasn't as expensive. £4 for a cream cheese and salmon bagel is expensive if you ask me. I live and work across the road, so the price is a little put off. however, wonderful little shop with great coffee and ice cream. try it out, especially if you have kids... theyll enjoy it.

I worked in this area for some three months recently. I became a regular at this cafe as I found the friendliness of the staff fantastic and I also loved the way it was trying to be part of the community rather than just a stand alone cafe. Lots of classes are offered as well as speciality nights e.g. Vegetarian etc. As I was "alone" in the area and did not know anywhere this cafe provided a point where I made many new friends and have great memories.I see the earlier comment about the quality of the coffee and wonder why as the coffee is excellent and could not be any better. They also make their own ice cream and this is also lush.I hope it continues and is a success. I miss it.

South Street is a recent addition but is already not only a nice place to hang out and grab a coffee but is making a real contribution to the local area. A particular bonus for this young familly is that kids are kept occupied in the corner play area while we get a moment to enjoy a coffee. Food is good home cooking and the owner really enjoys getting creative and that is to be applauded. The big stand out feature of this place is the effort it makes to contribute to the local area. It holds many special events and hosts a number of local groups (knitting, singing...). Even though I don't participate in any of these, this factor gives the place a heart that we all benefit from.I do have one small critisism: the coffee doesn't stand out. It is average and no worse than Starbucks but not the excellent cup that you might expect from a place that makes such an effort in all other respects

It's full of builders in the mornings and lets face it, they tend to know what a god fry up is. And breakfast here is very good. Nothing fancy but covers all of the major food groups - sausages, bacon, eggs, beans or whatever else you like in the morning. It's quick, generous portions and the staff are friendly. Great for a take-out too.

Well run pub. Clean, tidy and good service. Football on TV and a range of pub food options. Parking also on site.

This pub is a gem for food and drink, be it a pint or a cocktail (recommend the passionfruit martini!). Lovely staff, too! Sadly the choc orange torte wasn't available ... Looking forward to the next meat free menu nights in January :)

A good place in an interesting location. It felt a bit unpromising on the inside (although I can see other reviews stating a revamp and I did visit last about 18 months ago). Really enjoyed it and it was part of a good crawl through Brentford. Visited again on 21st December 2024 and it hasn't been notably revamped. Table are like those in a Munich beer garden - but much shorter. A couple of handpumps I believe. Still a very nice place.
