I was here just this evening to have a tea with someone's beautiful company. (regardless I'll give 5* to the food) Such a lovely & very cozy place with such a nice Moroccan vibe!! 😌 Got so comfortable that I didn't even want to leave.

Souk is a true gem in the heart of London. I went there on the 31st of January. From the moment we stepped inside, we were transported to the Mediterranean. The decor is absolutely stunning, with each area of the restaurant creating a unique and inviting atmosphere. We started with the deep fried calamari, grilled halloumi, hummus, merguez, with pitta bread; everything was cooked to perfection. For our mains, we shared the chicken and beef tagine, both of which were incredibly flavorful and authentic. The rise was also a standout. We also enjoyed their signature tea after our dinner. What truly made our experience special was the exceptional service. The manager went above and beyond to accommodate our request for a specific bottle of wine, which was the perfect complement to our meal. We were a party of two, and we both thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We'll definitely be back!

Nestled on Lichfield Street, Souk brings an authentic taste of Morocco to the heart of the city. **What sets Souk apart from other restaurants?** The authentically themed decor at Souk is a breath of fresh air compared to the myriad of restaurants that lack creativity and imagination. Walking in, you'll feel like you've been transported to a bustling Moroccan bazaar. **How was the customer service?** Exceptional! We were warmly welcomed by Walid, the friendly and hospitable manager. He added a personal touch to our experience by offering us homemade sweets his mother had sent from Morocco and even gave us fezzes to wear during our meal, he even let us take a fez home with us! Lighthearted fun like this is always welcome and made our visit even more special. **And the food?** The food was excellent! The portions were generous, and every dish was bursting with flavor. We opted for the 3-course prix fixe menu. For starters, we enjoyed Labneh, Hummus, Falafel, and a thimble of harissa paste. The mains, consisting of chicken tagine and lamb tagine, were slow-cooked to perfection—soft and incredibly flavorsome. Desserts included a delightful selection of homemade baklava, Turkish delights, all finished off with a pot of Moroccan mint tea. **Was it value for money?** Absolutely. The entire meal, which was competitively priced at £95 for the two of us, offered excellent value. Coupled with the outstanding food and impeccable customer service, Souk is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic Moroccan dining experience in Central London.

Not without its charm & not silly expensive especially with Tastecard. I can highly recommend the lamb sausage; just like the ones I have had in Morocco but of course cheap there 😂. I would go back & waiter was pleasant.

We were looking for a cosy, quaint little place for a small gathering of friends and Soul did not disappoint. The cosy little restaurant feels like it could be right in Morocco. Atmosphere is awesome. The service was very friendly and attentive, it felt genuine which was appreciated. Food was great. I'd recommend to anyone who like small, independent and authentic restaurants.

Souk is such a hidden gem in the middle of central London! Came here with my friend for some early dinner and the place is gorgeous. The food was good too! The chicken tagine was a bit bland but the beef tagine was succulent and fallling off the bone!!

Came here with some work friends and what a night we had! Firstly, shout out to Waleed who looked after us like we were guest in his home. The hospitality was incredible and tbh service like this is rare nowadays. Everyone wnjoyed their food, I had the fish Tagine, flavours were on point and I’m craving it so will be visiting again very soon. As they said when we went down to put seating area, you will experience London to Morocco and as soon as we enter our seating area we were at comfort and no longer felt as if we were in the heart of London. Drinks were sooooo good. Everyone having cocktails and shots said positive things. I had different types of mocktails and they even made me a special that wasn’t in the menu which was delicious. I recommend this place to anyone that wants good food and drink along with amazing service. You’ll feel relaxed and not rushed. We didn’t realise the time and the restaurant had closed, we ended up leaving an hour after closing but they were in no way rude about it. If you are reading this. Don’t over think it. Go and try it out. Ps it’s not like a bougie restaurant it’s cool quirky and relaxed and not overly priced.

Such a lovely place for authentic Moroccan food. The people serving, especially Walid, are so hospitable and humble. Souk has become our go to spot for a relaxed evening in Central. Cant recommend enough.

My daughter didn't like it, the sitter particularly quite dirty, cover needed a good clean. The outside looked quite exotic. Our food is supposed to be Moroccan but not even close to authentic Moroccan food. We ordered 3 main dishes - two lamb + one chicken, but after a long wait the waiter finally came with two dishes - one lamb and one chicken. He told us they made two lambs into one dish given the table was a bit small. But the dish is the same size as the chicken and the quantity was just about for one, definitely not made two for one. I booked this place for the family outing, and hoped it was a good time. I left with a bad taste.

The food is really tasty and transports you to North Africa.. A hidden gem in central London that I wish I'd discovered sooner. The ambience is really warm and cosy, with very charming decor.. The staff are also super welcoming and make you feel completely at home :)

The decor is fantastic, but unfortunately on this visit it remained the best thing of the whole experience. I visited the now closed sister restaurant several times and loved it, but was disappointed by this one. The service was very slow, the tables weren’t cleaned between main meal and dessert, everything seemed old and a bit unclean. The food was good but overpriced in my opinion. Compared to my previous experiences I was very disappointed.

We just had a birthday dinner at Souk tonight, and it was an amazing experience! Despite how busy the restaurant was, the staff made us feel right at home. Everyone was so friendly and attentive, going out of their way to ensure we had a great time. The music was the perfect touch, setting a relaxed and festive mood throughout the evening. Great food, Great service and amazing ambience

The absolute worst restaurant in all of London. We simply found glass shards in the food, when we wanted to draw the owner's attention to it, he was still forced to pay, he didn't even bother to meet us or at least apologise. Instead, the owner is unfriendly! I do not recommend this store at all, on the contrary, beware, it is harmful to health!

We had an extremely unpleasant experience at this establishment. While eating the kuskus, we found a crystal inside the food. When we brought this serious issue to the staff’s attention, not only did they dismiss our concerns, but they also treated us very poorly. They accused us of lying and claimed they would “check the cameras,” instead of addressing the issue with professionalism or concern. Their behavior was highly disrespectful and unacceptable. I genuinely hope this place improves its standards—or better yet, shuts down if they continue treating customers this way. Avoid at all costs!

I went with two of my friends, Hygiene was zero We ordered food which took more than 30 minutes. When we started to eat food, in the middle in the cus cus we found a piece of glass, which my friend found in mouth and he got injured with that too. We complained about this and then the owner talked to us over phone and he was arguing about that with us, he was so rude. Would not recommend to any one. Bad service, non hygienic food. Food authority should ban restaurants like this with such bad service and owner who doesn’t know how to deal with customers. One thing they did not let us take picture of glass piece and they took that with them.

I had a high expectations and it ended up being a huge disappointment! I didn't feel comfortable, the food was horrible, it was greasy, oily with a lot, a lot of salt, no good quality for what Moroccan food suppose to be. The tea was disgusting, a Moroccan restaurant and incapable to make a real one, when I checked in the pot there was a tea bag!! I must appreciate they didn't charge me for my dishes but otherwise I would have asked for a discount for what I ate. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL! DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE "MOROCCAN RESTAURANT CONCEPT!" Plus since when belly dancers are part of the Moroccan culture???

While passing through London with my sister, we wanted to enjoy some couscous and chose this restaurant somewhat at random. A nice surprise: the welcome was warm, the meal delicious, and the portions particularly generous.

Cute restaurant. Unfortunately the decoration was 100% Algerian. The songs choices were maroccan. And the food was a mix of both but it wasn’t simmered together, I had the impression that everything has been cooked separately and then put together.

Bad food and bad service. The tagine we ordered was served cold. It was tasteless, watery with no spices in it. Definitely a place to avoid. The service is not up to the mark. Only the portion size was worthwhile.

The food were really great. We ordered lamb coucous and a platter of mezze. Even my Palestinian friend said that they tasted original. Sadly the service was a bit down due to error in the ordering machine hence the food came after waiting for an hour. The place is really accessible and the atmosphere is homey.

We came across this restaurant and had the most amazing meal. Sidi Ali gave us a very warm and friendly welcome, the food was delicious and plenty. We had couscous, a chicken tagine, and a sweet and sour tagine. All were excellent, as were the starters. We will definitely come back. Try it, you won't be disappointed! We didn't take pictures, the food was so good , we just ate!

Very traditional, owner/manager could not be more obliging and helpful. The meze starter was a little disappointing, calamari straight from the freezer, hummus bland and didn’t taste like home made, Tzatziki was good though, again falafel may have been bought in. Mixed grill had plenty of meat and was very tasty, the sea bass was cooked to absolute perfection and was well worth the money and highly recommended. Baklava also very good

The place should be shut down. It’s mouldy, and the food was not good. The starters were nice, but the main and dessert was just plain bad. The tagine had no flavour, and when I told the owner he told me “it must be your flavour, everyone else is eating it”. I would not go again, disappointed overall. We were also given mint tea in tumbler glasses.

Went as part of a large group and ordered the Royal Feast in advance for £35. When we arrived at the restaurant the waiter suggested they serve everything as a Buffet style to the tables. This was a trick on the side of the restaurant. As they literally served a table spoon of Humous and yogurt. Followed by a stick of holoumi fries and a falafel. The main consisted of a sliver of chicken breast, a sliver of lamb and a slim sausage. Desert was one piece baklava and one piece Turkish delight. I could have eaten a 2 course meal at Cafe Concerto for £25! Seriously Morocco is known as the capital of scammers running call centres world wide and the same can be said of this restaurant, scamming large parties of customers for food. Best avoid and save yourself the disappointment!

The restaurant is so cozy, quiet and allows for privacy. A very beautiful Moroccan vibe. The waiter was very smiley and kind, the food wasn’t late at all. We tried the sea-bass and couscous and it was amazing!! Reasonable prices, would definitely go again.

We had a very disappointing experience, especially considering the positive reviews here. I had the hummus, which tasted unlike any hummus I’ve had before. My boyfriend had the calamari, which tasted as though it had been bought from a supermarket, with hardly any sauce. I had the lamb tagine for the main, and although the lamb was very tender, the sauce had absolutely no flavour. My boyfriend had the beef couscous, which was also flavourless. Additionally, the food took an unreasonably long time to arrive. Definitely would not recommend.

Thought I'd already written a review but seems it slipped my mind which just gives me the chance to do one now instead. I brought a good friend here who had never had North African cuisine before. To watch her being blown away by the flavour explosions of the wonderful food prepared by the head chef this evening will be one of the memories I will cherish for years to come. We each had a tagine (I had lamb and my friend opted for chicken) and the flavours were so beautifully balanced and delicate. Every bite is a little different from the one before and the meat is so unbelievably tender and succulent - the chicken falls of the bone just by looking at it. Tagine is a favourite dish of mine and Souk just take it to the next level. We had Labneh Z'aatar with some pitta for starter and the lovely tanginess of the yoghurt balanced with the fresh mint and Z'aatar olive oil makes this for a light starter allowing you to enjoy the food without getting too full for the main course. As dessert, we were treated to a small sample of their newest additions to the menu - Kanafeh cheese and Semoulina. This was my first time trying these as well and I swear I've never had anything so light, fluffy and absolutely scrumptious. Again, the flavours were rich but delicate and paired with the always delicious Moroccan mint tea we felt like we were in heaven and both felt the need to close our eyes to just savour the tastes of each bite. After this, I convinced my friend to try proper Turkish delight and baklava as again she had never tried beyond the chocolate bar and M&S versions. Once again, the transformation on my friend's face as she discovered how delicious each of these are when done right. The service was a chapter onto itself. Friendly, welcoming and attentive without hovering as you often find in other places. We ended up spending 3 hours or so and didn't even notice because it was cosy and relaxed. The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant feels authentic too and you almost forget you're in London and haven't been transported to Morocco. You, dear reader, may think I'm gushing (which I am, yes) but I cannot fully express how much I enjoy coming to Souk and how happy I have rediscovered it after having "lost" it during the pandemic. And bringing a friend to try this amazing place and wonderful cuisine for the first time has been an absolute pleasure and joy. I will most certainly be back and bringing as many of my friends as I possibly can - and I can only recommend you do the same! And if you're trying this for the first time, I truly hope you will enjoy this beginning of a flavourful and delectable journey, you are embarking on... Update: tried the chocolate cake... I'm in heaven! So so good.

Nice morrocan restaurant, a bit of a warren inside in the best tradition of the Fez or Marrakesh souks. We tried a tagine and a grill and were both very pleasant. Not massive portions and not cheap, but perfectly tly reasonable. They have iced mint tea, which is a lovely variation, plus kunefe on the desert menu.

Such a lovely and atmospheric place with friendly, efficient staff and filling, tasty food. They were so accommodating of a big group and really went above and beyond for every single one of us. Will definitely return/recommend in the foreseeable future!

Post matinee theatre meal, we each had a Delicious Tagine with plain couscous at a very reasonable price. Beautiful authentic decor and genuinely friendly and courteous staff. Surprisingly quiet for 5:30pm. Didn’t book in advance but plenty of tables free. The fresh Moroccan Mint tea was divine. Definitely going back the next time I’m in the West End.
