Second time coming here, and was not disappointed. Beautiful decor, beautiful afternoon tea, which is super filling! Plenty of tea to choose from, and I love that you have the option to ask for seconds. Lovely staff, just lovely overall! Thank you Sketch x

Absolutely horrible customer service. My five friends and I had COVID and could not make our reservation. They insisted we still pay the full menu price per person because we cancelled 24 hours in advance instead of 48 hours. I was in contact with the management for over a month, trying to reschedule, but the reservation manager constantly ignored my calls and emails. I went into the restaurant to try to talk to someone, and the management was present but would not speak to me. They would not reschedule us and still charged us the full menu price per person, despite us being sick. The cancellation policy is absolutely atrocious, but whats even worse is the customer service and management. I understand that policies are policies, but the fact that they avoided all my messages is extremely unprofessional. My friends and I were doing their employees and the other guests a grace by not coming in ill, yet it seems like they wanted us to. I would avoid this establishment completely.

We left this place with a bitter taste... A strong feeling of having fallen into a tourist trap. The place, in terms of style and art, is fabulous. However, the cuisine is terribly ordinary: the tea time canapes are good, that's clear, but absolutely not worth 80 pounds. 4/5 small sandwiches bordering on bland, accompanied by pastries so sweet that they become sickening, with tasteless tea. Total: 191 pounds for two, to say I regret it is an understatement.

Afternoon tea, with bubbles was over £100. While service & ambiance were incredible, I’d say the food left something to be desired considering the price. Portions were very small, and none of it stood out as delicious, mainly just ‘good’ or ‘okay’. It is definitely an experience, but I wonder if it’s better to go for a La carte menu rather than the set afternoon tea. My entire party was veggie & pescetarian and they were amenable to that which was appreciated

We decided to celebrate a family birthday with lunch in the lecture room. The experience could not have been better: from the opulent settings and decor to the fabulous service and, of course, the amazing food. I particularly want to congratulate Alessandro who was discreetly present throughout almost four hours of dining, together with his team, Luca the sommelier, who guided us through the wines, making some wonderful choices and the attentive assistant manager, Baue, who oversaw that the entire room ran like clockwork and even gave us a mini tour of the other rooms at the end. I'm not a food critic, but the presentation and flavours of the food, contrasting vivid colours and flavours, both surprised and delighted. Obviously, you have to pay for this level of fine dining, but for a special occasion it leaves memories that last forever

When we arrive there at midnight the guy at the entrance rudely without any explanation told us to leave because they already made the last entrance!!! No organization at all and it was only a Wednesday.

I’ve been a customer of Sketch for over 15 years and have spent thousands of pounds here. It used to be the best place for afternoon tea in London, a place for true connoisseurs, but sadly they’ve now turned it into a tourist trap - and as a result they don’t care if you’re coming back or about maintaining standards of good food or service - because there’ll be a fresh batch of clueless tourists who’ll be there today and gone tomorrow. This place has had a truly catastrophic fall from grace! It’s terrible now! The afternoon tea used to feel luxurious and generous. Now everything feels like it’s pre-prepared in some warehouse and shipped in. The portions aren’t generous- you get one tiny scone, a few dry mediocre cakes, and insipid soggy sandwiches. And if God forbid you have some ingredients or things you don’t like, be prepared to have the staff roll their eyes at you and tell you repeatedly that “no changes are possible”. They act like they’re doing you a favour and like you should feel embarrassed if you ask for anything. And what do you get for this drastic decline in food quality and hostile service? A gigantic price hike- I paid £300 for 3 people for one of the worst afternoon tea experiences in London. A truly dreadful experience from start to finish. Sad to see the decline of this once great place plumb the depths of painful mediocrity.

I had the pleasure of dining at Sketch tonight, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was electric, and the service impeccable. Our waiter, Filippo, went above and beyond to ensure our evening was perfect. His attention to detail and genuine warmth added a special touch to our night. The food was simply outstanding. I opted for the fish, which was cooked to perfection, while my wife indulged in the steak, which was nothing short of sublime. We started with an appetizer of François, which set the tone for the culinary delights that followed. Sketch is a must-visit for anyone looking for an extraordinary dining experience. My experience at Sketch felt like wandering through the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul—except instead of Egyptian men trying to scam me out of my money, it was overpriced scones and pastries that did the trick. I walked in with high hopes (and an even higher bill), only to walk out wondering what exactly all the fuss was about. Let’s start with the food. The scones? Served cold. We had to send them back just to get them warm, and by the time they came back, the scone cream seemed confused—was it butter, or cream? Even my girlfriend, who’s a pastry chef, said the cream tasted like it had been left out overnight. That’s not exactly what you expect when you’re paying top dollar for “high tea.” The pastries were aggressively sweet, and not in a “decadent treat” kind of way—more like a sugar bomb with zero finesse. The sandwiches were just OK, though I’ll give a shout-out to the smoked salmon and ricotta combo. That was a rare bright spot in an otherwise bland array of finger food. As for the service, the staff were polite, but there’s only so much they can do when the food doesn’t back them up. Good manners can’t rescue cold scones and mediocre food. The atmosphere and decor were quirky and fun, but the teapots and crockery didn’t really scream “luxury,” more like “trying too hard to be posh.” The only real saving grace? The tea itself, which was excellent. And my girlfriend’s photo in front of the place turned out pretty great too. But honestly, for the price and the reputation, I left feeling like I’d been scammed out of a true high tea experience. Would I recommend it? Maybe if you’re there just for the Instagram shots of the gallery and the bathroom, but if you’re actually there for the food, I’d look elsewhere.

Have been wanting to come here for literally 5 years aka the last time we were in London when I made an error with my reservation for the day we landed and we logistically couldn’t make it. Sadly they redid the colour scheme which isn’t as aesthetic but we finally visited and the infamous toilets delivered. You’ll definitely spend some time taking instagram pics in there if you are that way inclined. We dined at 11am and the violinists were beginning to play as we were leaving which was disappointing. We had afternoon tea which is a modern take on the tradition and includes unlimited tea, scones, sandwiches and cakes as it would well want to given the price ($362 AUD for two people not including alcohol). Value wise there’s obviously only so much you can eat but I think the experience is worth it though probably not something you repeat often. The Glade bar next door is visually stunning also

After a spectacular evening at Sketch’s Lecture Room and Library, I can confidently say it was an unforgettable culinary journey. The moment you ascend the grand, red-carpeted staircase, you’re greeted by a space that feels like a blend of an art gallery and a Michelin-starred fantasy land. The atmosphere is rich with lavish décor, vibrant colors, and a magnificent red chandelier that sets the tone for a unique experience. I opted for the multi-course tasting menu, and each dish felt like a work of art, both in presentation and flavor. Standouts included a beautifully prepared lobster with Thai-inspired tropical flavors and a lamb dish that showcased both French and Italian culinary influences. The wine pairings were expertly chosen, enhancing every bite. Sketch’s service was impeccable, making the entire experience feel relaxed yet luxurious. The attention to detail here—from the eclectic food combinations to the decor and service—truly made for an extraordinary night. Sketch is not just a meal, it’s an experience worth savoring, especially for anyone seeking a true taste of modern haute cuisine in London.

Atmosphere and food is great. We went to the 3 michelin star lecture room. You'll be looking at around 300-500 pounds per person, depending on the menu you chose. As you can expect at that price the food is exceptional. Its subtle flavours. Not big loud flavours though. But of course, exquisitely prepared. I've only given 4 stars on food as it was comparable with other 1-2 star establishments I've been to. But the reason to go is the decor and experience. The service is top notch. Staff are incredibly friendly. Its not pretentious at all. Very modern and a lovely way to spend a few hours.

Very disappointed in the experience my boyfriend and i had. He works as a chef, so he’s been wanting to go here for quite some time. We were in london for a days, so had no reservations, went on a Saturday at 10 (when the hostess told us they could take walk in for dinner à la carte). We were told 30 minutes for a table of two, which is fine, but after 45 minutes and our drinks done, we asked a waiter if our table would still be available, the maître d’hôtel came to get us 2 minutes after, telling us he kind of forgot about us. Again we both work in restaurants so we get it, but for this kind of establishments you expect WAY better. From there it just went downhill, they kept apologizing for the delay, but still made us wait and never greeted us once we got to the table. the service was all over the place, we had to ask for drink menu, food menu and for a new bottle of water (not free as well). Our food was obviously forgotten on the pass cause it was not very hot. We thought the food was gonna spectacular since it’s THE sketch but it was okay, which is very disappointing. It felt like since we didn’t spend 400£ we were not “worth” it, which really sucks for an experience we were waiting for so long.

A lunch at Sketch the gallery is not a culinary experience, it is a sensory experience: first of all the view (the place is a little kitsch, a sort of diving into the world of Alice in the land of wonders; the clientele is made up of 80% Instagrammers - I have never seen so many young women so overdressed for a lunch, who are much more concerned with taking photos of themselves than having lunch); the sound (that day a string quartet played music from Bridgerton live); smell (very nice selection of teas served at will)… At the Sketch gallery unique menu: it’s an alternoon tea; it's quite good and it's unlimited (you can ask for more sandwiches or pastries). Fortunately, given the price: 95 euros per person (excluding service)… Oh, above all, go to the toilets (that’s the main point of the place!). I'm not showing you a photo so as not to spoil the surprise effect. A place to try once!

The only thing I did not like was they added £1.25 to the bill for a charity donation and then included a leaflet with information about the charity. However, the cod lacked flavor and was underwhelming. The steak was decent but adding 5 tiny pieces of chips is a joke. As for dessert, the pavlova was ordinary, and the blueberries seemed frozen and had an unusual taste. The strawberry and cream was also underwhelming. If you're only interested in image and superficial appearances, this is the place for you. If, on the other hand, you are interested in a good gastronomic experience, look elswere. Awful service. We arrived on time for our reservation but were directed to sit and wait on a few chairs placed in front of reception and outside the dining room for about 20 mintues. No apology or drinks were offered. Once seated, half-way through our afternoon tea, our waitress disappeared without a work never to reappear. We had to try to flag down an alternative waiter who was disinterested in serving us. Food was okay but there are plenty of better alternative locations available. All in all, the experience left me with a bitter taste in my mouth given the unwarranted prices charged. It seems that they are more interested in their decor and image than in their service/customer satisfaction.

We went for afternoon tea at Sketch on September 8th 2024. The venue is really something, visually stunning. The service was very good. The sweets - tarts, macaron, scones - were delicious. The sandwiches, however, were something else entirely - rather bland. If I hadn't been told one had egg mayonnaise I'd have been none the wiser. The vegetable croque monsieur missed the mark. I don't think Coronation chicken made an appearance which is potentially a shame as it might have saved things. For nearly £100 a head - which is what it came to after the service charge and bottled water had been added - I expected it to be better than this.

We proceeded to check out the famous pods only to find women dressed in maids uniforms with toilet tissue in hand which as women we found very demeaning and offensive. We will not be returning because of these reasons.

I tried The Gallery at Sketch for dinner with my friends, and I must say it is a visual and culinary delight! The artistic atmosphere is vibrant and unique. The food and service were excellent. My lamb shank was tender, flavourful, and well-presented. Overall, it is a wonderful place for both the eyes and the taste buds. I highly recommend it.

I've been wanting to come here for so long and was finally able to make it happen! My friends and I enjoyed afternoon tea here last week and loved the ambiance, and of course, all of the art. There was live music and you're able to order more of the tea items if you like them. Caution, there are so many courses and it is a lot of food. Everything was delicious. They also have a special allergen menu and were able to provide afternoon tea to my friend who has dairy and gluten allergies. Thank you so much, it was a wonderful afternoon tea.

What a place! The decor, the music, the legendary bathroom. The food is delish and delicate. But what made this experience was the SERVICE! In particular by the incredible Sommelier. Not only was his recommendations perfect he went above and beyond to match us to our perfect wines based on taste and price. He was also kind and funny and helped teach myself and my friend about wine! We left feeling satisfied in our wines but also with greater appreciation for Spanish Sherry ! The Sketch experience is amazing, the whole building and decor will amaze you, it is truly like a gallery and concert in one- BUT our Sommelier was THAT fantastic he is by far still the best and most memorable part of my experience at Sketch! Has harnessed the true art of Hospitality! One of if not the best service I’ve ever had. ( and the whole experience was very very incredible to begin with )

Have been to Sketch Parlour 3 times in the last 4 years to celebrate various occasions. I had good impressions with my last two visits, but the recent one left me feeling underwhelmed and disappointed. Have the standards dropped? The food was almost the same but I recall having a lovely Victorian sponge to take home before, but this was not the case now. The service was also lacklustre - unfriendly and slow. We had to keep reminding the waiters to refill our teas. The toilets are obviously a great attraction, and I was with visitors whom this was their first time dining here. A few of them wanted to take some pictures in the toilet, but were rudely told to move aside by the cleaner. I appreciate that she's trying to do her job but should also acknowledge that there will always be guests taking pictures in the toilet and have patience. This will probably be my last visit here and that is a shame. Also a shame that it didn't leave a lasting impression on my overseas visitors, after having hyped it up to them following my last 2 great experiences here.

We went for a cocktail. I had already been in 2015 and found it a little worse. They closed the corridor on the second floor and reduced the spaces. It remains an interesting place and the cocktails are good

Staff were very nice, however the food was below average and way over priced I’m shocked with so many 5 star reviews to be honest , the parlour looks very tacky and underwhelming and nothing like their website pictures. Very dissipated for what we had and paid over £300 for it.

Came here 2 years ago and I feel like it was subpar and disappointing. I had high expectations for this establishment, and it was a let-down. For the value, you don’t get that much. The decor and ambiance are nice for sure but the food and drinks are just regular and very expensive on top of that. Would not recommend.

If you’d like to try a Proper High Tea, this is the place to do it! There’s so many twist and turns of surprises! It’s so elegant! The violinists played a lot of current music. The staff were absolutely skillful and very friendly. Shout out to K.C. A fellow Filipina who was at our beck and call. The food was exquisite! Do not pass up the scone with jam and clotted cream! Loved my Champagne and Darjeeling Tea!

Sketch has lost its charm and charisma. I have been twice before when it was the iconic pink room and this was my first time coming back to experience the yellow room. Upon arrival myself and my friend were greeted by a bored, unfriendly member of staff who showed us to our table. Her demeanour set the tone for the rest of the afternoon. The yellow room was underwhelming. It reminded me of a retirement home. The lady who was serving us had a thick Eastern European accent, so understanding her was difficult. Tea was brought to us in a black Japanese teapot which was bizarre and didn’t fit the theme of the afternoon tea. A little while later our afternoon tea arrived. I must say the battenberg cake was delicious and the warm croque monsieur finger sandwich was very good, the rest was bland. Over two and half hours passed and we still hadn’t been brought our scones or offered a refill of tea. I noticed a server place some scones on a little tray next to our table and left them there. Ten minutes went by before someone picked them up and placed them on our table - they were cold. I asked for fresh scones and begrudgingly the waitress took them away. Two small, fresh scones were brought out but that was it - no offer of anymore. We were given one tiny pot of jam and one small dish of clotted cream to share between the two of us. When our bill came I noticed they had added a £25 discretionary service fee. I asked the manager to remove the fee, which he did, and he did ask for my feedback. Considering it was a bank holiday Sunday afternoon, Sketch should have been packed, but there were noticeable empty tables and I now understand why.

An overrated and underwhelming experience that literally left everything to be desired, including my money that I parted with for it. I was drawn to Sketch for the beautiful Glade room, and the partnership with Pierre Gagnaire, a Michelin chef. Though not the Library or Lecture Room, the simple accreditation to him made this fall all the more flat. I don’t know whether the chef who designed this menu simply dropped it off and left, or whether they just do not care, but ordering the ratatouille and getting a watery tomato with rice, with no sign of either rat nor atouille literally left no taste in my mouth. Or for that matter, the chicken and ham & cheese croque, which gave me notes of unbattered dino nuggies, and my own speciality cheese toastie. Then there was the service, or lack thereof. For dishes so simple, and being one of 3 tables in the room, the wait time was too long. I didn’t keep count of time, for the room was so pretty it did give a welcome distraction, but then having to ask to for our wine we’d ordered to come with our main to be brought to us really did take us out of it a bit, considering the only waiter in the entire room had disappeared for so long, we were half way through our main before we were able to ask! Lastly there was the complimentary birthday cake for my girlfriend, who I had specified it was for in the notes of the booking form. Imagine the confusion when brought the lovely cake, when the waiter says “I have been told we have a birthday today. Who’s is it?”. Such a small thing, but at a restaurant such as this, they really should know. When talking to the waiter about all of this at the end of our meal, regarding the cake, he was immediately defensive, saying “we only see that there’s a birthday on the table, we don’t see any of the notes” - then why bother having that feature on your website in the first place?! Literally what is the point?? To put this all into perspective, we later went to Haidilao hotpot for dinner, where we spent close to the same £175 odd we’d bled out here for much more attentive service, and much more flavourful food!

High tea with a modern flair, Sketch is worth the visit just for the funky spaces. Love the classical music played by a quartet in the background while you sip champagne or tea and eat the most delectable bites. The afternoon tea is so good - pricey yes, but you will not be disappointed. They cater for all dietary requirements too.

Sketch in London is beyond words—an experience that’s truly out of this world. I’ve been to London many times, but this place takes the cake. The moment you step in, you’re transported to a different world. Sketch features a variety of themed rooms, each more high-end and meticulously crafted than the last. We were in the Parlor, a ginormous room with beautifully done banquet seating. The high tea experience here is something else—every 15 minutes, a ballerina would gracefully enter the room, adding a touch of magic to an already incredible setting. I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but you absolutely have to visit the bathroom while you’re there. It’s an experience all its own and something you just have to see to believe. Sketch is hands down one of my favorite experiences in London, and I’ve been raving about it ever since. If you’re looking for something extraordinary, this is it.

This was a real surprise. I chose it for its vibrant decor and cocktail menu. I got so much more. Fabulous drag DJ entertainer with the best legs I've ever seen. My husband and I really did have a riot of a time. Singing and dancing along was a hoot. Just wish it was local we would go there all the time. Staff were fun and welcoming. Just remember it's a drag act so not for the super touchy and easily offended. Loved it, keep it up girl, oh and the doorman had some great moves too!xx

We ordered 2 vegetarian full brunch with vegetables like mushroom, spinach, courgette and avocado with poached eggs. Only the egg and the avocado were served. Once we pointed it out that we were waiting for the food the waiter said Of course but after other 30 minutes he was just hiding in the kitchen. So no veggies available. They offered us a croissant instead. The quality of the egg, salmon and coffee is good but it is very poor however not expensive but I would say that with 6 tables maybe the service can be improved. Very nice coffee though
