Sophie's Choice Restaurant in Bexley

Worth 5 stars all round. Best food I've eaten in my local area, with very polite and friendly staff and a warm atmosphere. My family were all very pleased.

Terrible name choice for a restaurant.

WOW!! We booked this for a large family celebration of our Golden Wedding Anniversary and the area was cordoned off for us and the table was very nicely decorated with fresh flowers and yellow napkins. We were each given menus specially printed with our name at the top and what the occasion was. This was such a lovely special touch. All of us had something different for starters, mains and desserts. Nothing had to pre-ordered and none of us waited any great length of time for food whatsoever which is a real credit to kitchen staff. Every single course was just perfectly delicious, again echoed by all our guests. Deepest thanks to all the staff here for making our special day even more special with greetings, food and service. And to boot with wine and drinks the total bill was less than we were expecting.

Thankyou to Chris for opening the restaurant on a Sat afternoon for my mums 90th Birthday. Thankyou to Susie and samantha for serving our table promptly and efficiently which for 23 people cant be easy. ALL our friends and family commented on the excellent food, quality, generous portion sizes and variety of choice. (Thankyou to all the kitchen staff )Very relaxed atmosphere. Lovely to be able to talk without a noisy restaurant atmosphere so the private party worked really well as a few elderly friends. Set party menu price very good and definitely worth every penny. I cannot think of any other restaurant like Sophies locally that would give us all of the above.

Private party for 90th Birthday celebration for 23 people. Party menu had plenty of choice, approx 8 starters, 8 mains and 8 desserts. Very generous portions and all served hot and promptly. Very good value . Thankyou to suzie and samantha, waitresses that looked after us so well. Thankyou to Chris for opening up the restaurant on a sat afternoon for our private party. All our friends and family commented on how lovely it was , my mum had a lovely afternoon.

Lunch with family. Food excellent and discrete service. I had Terrine for starter and duck confit for main course, best duck I've had for a long time. Tiramisu for dessert was also delicious. Sunday lunch menu is very good price. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is clean and tidy some people say old fashioned but that’s what we like, a truly independently run, with very reasonably priced meals. For Sunday lunch you pay for main which includes starter and dessert about 20 to 25 ish. Food is large portions hot and nice, nothing to flash but not boring. Ideal place for family gatherings. Highly recommend. Also I judge a place by its care of toilets and they are well maintained and clean. We all been restaurant and seen horrible toilets it shows the attitude.

Really wonderful little spot for a meal. Family and kid friendly. Food is excellent. Adult meals - the duck confit and the pate were delicious. Portions generous. Kids meals even more so! Great value for money for kids. And friendly helpful polite service. My picky eater gobbled it all up. And the photos are after she already picked off food!

This is a lovely restaurant, popular with people of an older age, but don't let that put you off. Even though they have a chair lift for the older and disabled people to get to the toilets upstairs, this is simply an aid for them and doesn't affect the quality of food that they can deliver to you. The food is outstanding and at a reasonable price too. The restaurant is quiet and the staff are friendly and helpful. They have a good choice of wines and a good variety of food to choose from. Well worth a visit.

First time here and was very pleased there were 8 in our party although there were 2 staff and there was a larger group than ours service was speedy and attentive food was nice and tasty menus is not over extensive but something to suit most tastes and price was very reasonable

Booked for our 50th Golden Anniversary family meal. Day before Chris of Sophies phoned to ask how we would like the tables arranged, circular or long tables. Arrived next day to a welcome sign for our Anniversary and each menu with our names on it. We were all made welcome by the staff and Chris. The food was very very good and the menu catered for all. The service from all of the staff was very helpful and attentive. We had a good time, good food and very good service. Would thoroughly recommend and a big thank you to the staff.

Fantastic meal at Sophies choice,hadn't been for years. Food was freshly cooked not overpriced and the glasses of wine weren't stingy either! Perfect catch up with the girls! Will be back!!

Very disappointed after reading great reviews. Best part was the starters, our main meal was not large on portion size. One had roast turkey with all the trimmings a slice of back bacon and a small skinny sausage, fish was to have parsley sauce missing just dill sprig. Not to mention what vegetables are served, no one in the family eats red cabbage and one dish of roast potatoes for five people was not enough. Was given the desert menu and then had to wait ages to give our orders we had to attract one of the waitresses to do so.The dessert was the same. One had a allergy to pineapple and was garnished with it. All in all not a good experience.

Last Saturday we went to Sophie's Choice with 26 family and friends to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary. We were seated in the Athena Room upstairs. We had a wonderful time: the food was excellent, we all had our meals at the same time, the portions were good. The staff were fantastic, they were very obliging and helpful. A big thank you to all the staff for making this a memorable occasion.

Following a FUNERAL PARLOUR APPOINTMENT, I stopped here to eat. I explained that I didn’t have much time left on my parking ticket, so understandably was quite anxious. I used to frequent this restaurant often when I located closer 10 years ago. So very disappointed in the way I was treated.

We have been going to Sophies Choice for many years. Excellent service and nice atmosphere. Would like menu to include steak and for background music to be more up to date bur well worth a visit.

This is a superb restaurant. The food is delicious, well presented, and plentiful. And very reasonably priced! When the bill came we thought they had made a mistake! Great service, the waitresses are lovely. Just the right amount of checking everything is OK. A definite return visit is scheduled soon!

Excellent food for very reasonable prices Our first visit here despite being quite local, and we were not disappointed. Very good service not too rushed but all courses came out together, something other restaurants have been struggling with. Large portions I could hardly finish everything, Will be going back

My aunt booked here for her 80th Birthday for around 44 people and what a great night it was. The food was amazing, really tasty, great portion size and good quality. The staff were excellent, really friendly and nothing too much trouble. I would not hesitate in recommending here and we will definitely return on our next visit to London. 😃

My partner and I were invited to a private function at Sophie's Choice on 2 July 2023. The luncheon was served in the private suite above the main restaurant. The waitresses were excellent and looked after the guests impeccably. The choices available for each course were magnificent and greatly added to the experience. In fact, I have never seen so many superb options offered at such an event. The quality of the lunch was magnificent and the atmosphere in the restaurant made our visit even more special. A huge thank you to Sophie's Choice for an exceptional afternoon. We will definitely visit the restaurant again soon.

Been here before but on Sunday July 2nd a whole bunch of us went - 40 in total. We had the upstairs room to ourselves and the food and service could not have been better. Lot's of choices on each course and we all enjoyed it immensely. Lovely young waitresses that were very efficient and friendly. Well done to all concerned.

I was with a party of about 40 people to celebrate my cousin's Ruby Wedding Anniversary. All three Courses were excellent and the waitresses couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and professional. I would certainly recommend Sophie's Choice and hope to come again soon.

We had our Ruby Anniversary celebration at Sophie's Choice in May 2023. Beforehand, they were really accommodating and efficient, and despite a party of 22, I was advised that there was no need for anyone to preorder. On the day I was contacted by Chris, who wanted to make some personal touches to the menu. These were lovely. We had the upstairs room to ourselves, which was beautifully laid out. As with all our experiences at Sophie's Choice, the food choice was varied, and beautifully cooked. A special thank you to Magda and Theodora who were serving us all evening. This is a brilliant restaurant with delicious food.

Awful compassion!! Booked for Mother’s Day. Unfortunately the day before my nephew was rushed to hospital and on the day myself son and husband caught covid. We paid £20 deposit each for £27 meal - very high! we asked if meal could be taken the following week but was told we would all lose our deposits. I negotiated a take away for five. The other two were able still to go. This was hard fought. The two that went bought it home. One poor dinner each. No pudding or starter but still took all our money. We will not be using them again! Absolute sharks and rip off!!!! We had cancelled a place very early in the week and were told that we would get a refund for that deposit. Not seen at all!!! Please do not pay these people a deposit - too risky!

Wonderful local restaurant! My Wife and extended family dined on Christmas day. The food and service were wonderful. We went Traditional with a Mushroom Starter followed by the Christmas Turkey Lunch. Sherry Trifle was my choice of Dessert, My wife had the profiterole's. All were served perfectly by the waitresses without interrupting the conversation. All in all an excellent Christmas Lunch

I booked a week before for 11 of us to celebrate my parents golden Wedding Anniversary. They were so good they provided yellow roses and napkins and a special personalised front for the menu. We had their from their set menu and didn't have to preorder which for such a big party we may have had to all the food came out together we were not rushed the staff were attentive and everyone enjoyed their food drink and had a lovely time especially my parents which is what it was all about !

My father-in law has been eating here for years and I had my first chance this week. Lamb was excellent..soft easy to chew...my dessert was so delicious. All in all keal was fantastic. We came for a meal on a Tuesday evening about 2 weeks, just before the Queen's jubilee. It was lovely. My husband said that the fish platter was amazing. I had lamb noissettes, in mint sauce. They were probably the best lamb that I have eaten. The vegetables were good too. I had syllabub, it was lovely. The house wine was a nice wine. They were full, but this in no way detracted from the good service and lovely cooking. I recommend and I will go there again.

Food good, but we booked a surprise do, for my two relatives in February, come the day of the get together in May, we where not in the private function room that we asked in February which ruined the whole thing. We will not be returning with our custom, we have more reliable venue that we have used before than you.
