Worst butter chicken of my life

Scheduled an order for 8pm at 7pm and it didn’t show up until 8.50, despite calling twice and only living 10 minutes away. The food was poor, a layer of oil on every curry and they all just tasted of sugar. Very disappointing and have received no money back for the order being late. Don’t order from here!

Do not be put off by it's small and dingy premises - this place is by far the best Indian in the area. Great flavours, plentiful vegan menu with mock meats and authentic level of spice. Nice service. Very impressed that they have a vegan section on the menu with lovely choices and not just the usual vegetables. Great portion sizes as well. Our favourite local.

Food was excaellent but i preordered for 7.20pm and it arrived an hour early! Was a good job i was home but my husband wasnt & that was why i ordered for a certain time. I think when an order is for a certain time then you should make sure you deliver at that time & not an hour earlt!

Great variety of vegetarian and vegan options the latter of which use some surprisingly convincing mock meats. Each dish had a distinct flavour unlike some other takeaways which seem to use the same sauce in different dishes. Lovely friendly service and an accurate estimate of how long food would take which is rare and much appreciated. No sit-down dining - this is a takeaway only.

Amazing traditional curry house, recommended!

This place was recommended by a friend, the Tika Masala is out of this world best I have had in a long time.

Bhuna was excellent, as was the naan. Onion bhajis were a little dry, but this might've been because they were so big.

The balti was greasy.. oil floating on the top. I could have extracted enough to run a tractor on. The flavour of the Baltic was good. The rest of the meal was good too. Very nice portion of complimentary poppadoms too

Very good curry, the lemon rice was really good and I loved the fact that they gave me free poppadoms. 100% would order again, the peshwari naan was one of the best I have ever had, to top it off the driver was really professional.

Ordered online as usual, but they forgot an item again. I let it go last time but called up this time. The moment I said they’d forgotten something the hut apparently couldn’t hear me. So I called back and the hung up on me instead of speaking- they have number recognition. As they’ve dealt with this so “well”, coupled with the fact they can’t seem to get orders right prior to the above 2 incidents , I won’t be using them again.

Food was very late and stone cold. When I rang to complain, they lied to me and then put the phone down on me.

Food quite average. Menu says curry is "hot" and it's actually a soup of oil and tomato with few pieces of meat. Not even hot at all. Not even a piece of chilli. Diluted and tastes very very average.

Sonali are 100% back on track! We used to be very regular customers but more recently felt that the quality had dropped. This has completely changed - we just had the most incredible meal and are really happy that they’re back! Thank you for a fabulous meal!👏👏👏

We have been using the Sonali for many years and never had a bad experience. The food amazing and always delivered hot and on time.

DISAPPOINTING! After waiting 1hr20mins, the food arrived cold and lacked taste!

First order late food OK. 2nd order accepted then 10min later they cancelled. 3rd order same thing. 4th order they accepted. 10min later they call requesting £5 delivery claiming I'm too far away? They didn't charge me £5 delivery on my first order until they saw a B___k face. Very disappointing.

Me and my wife was blown away by how nice the food was here. We normally use a different one. So thats why we decided to try Sonal. Now this is definitely our go to.

Ordered a salmon tikka and there was four tiny, v. Small pieces of salmon swimming in sauce. Disappointing as this usually is a delicious meal but now won't order again for the price it was and the amount received. Very bad

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! Haven’t ordered from here in a long time clearly standards have dropped. The food had previously been frozen. It was obvious. Chicken tough as old boots grey on the inside. Everything tasted watered down. Food arrived so quickly the app didn’t have a chance to update. Honestly the worst food I have ever paid for. Never again. Food went in the bin, requested a refund via just eat.

Order hasn't arrived, cannot get though via phone call as it says the line is busy. Avoid this place!!

It is not biryani,! Smells like rice cooked with cauliflower. Chicken was hard as rock. It is not biryani folks

The tikka meat and paneer was nice as was the vegetable dhansak. Chicken and lamb curry dishes were a little bland. Lack of spice & heat. Vegetable side dishes were also lacking flavour and spice. I’d order grilled tikka meats next time. Delivery on time.

Food was decent and tasted as always. The delivery guy is something else though. Whenever this particular guy delivers, he’s always on the phone, talks loudly and you can clearly hear the other person on the other end. He was asked to keep it down. Which didn’t work incidentally!! So rude. When did customer service t a runner??!!

I ordered a home delivery last night and the food took over an hour and half to arrive and when it did I was charge full price but there was a dish missing. When I phoned to inform them there was a dish missing I was told that it was my fault, even though we ordered through the website and had the full order receipt in front of me which included the curry which was missing. I was hung up on and then received a text message saying ‘can I call you later’. I rang back myself and was told they are making it now and it was delivered about half hour later. No apology and no money back as way of an apology. I have been using Sonali for 20 years and this is the worst service I have ever received from them. And did not expect it being such a regular user of the takeaway. Very disappointed and am thinking about going elsewhere now.

Best Indian cuisine in the area

Everything was swimming in oil/ghee, all the meat tasted the same and odd, was also overcooked. The curries along with being incredibly greasy were completely lacking in flavour with no discernible difference between the two (got the meat thali), zero spice and I say that as someone who struggles with spicy food usually. The poppadoms tasted like they were cooked in old oil. One small savour was the naan which was actually lovely. With it arriving 20 minutes after a long wait time and no response to my request for an update, this was really an expensive let down that mostly went in the bin.

I tried in on the spur of the moment, and was very impressed with the polite service and the very tasty dishes, I had the Bengal curry and rice portion size was very good and again very tasty.

Always was delicious but today lemon rices had big pieces of lemons and was too bitter. Also shatkora dish had different taste than usual.

Absolutely disgusting service. Ordered food at 5.20, asked for an update for The restaurant at 8 to be told they would deliver by 8.20 sorry for the delay. Phone was off the hook the entire time. Ended up going to The restaurant at 9pm to be told my food was still in the kitchen waiting to be delivered!

Decent Regular Takeaway. Good clean tasting food and tastes quality the next day. Staff are very friendly and orders alway come correctly
