Darjeeling in Lewisham

Ive been using Darjeeling for over 5 years and order the same food usually, this time the food was far to hot although I asked for it to be made with less pepper

Had a lovely meal, relaxed atmosphere and never rushed. Buffet lunch on Sunday caters for all family young and old, lovely flavour but not too spicy for younger people.

Food is so delicious, great flavours and delivered just on time. Thank you so much.

This used to be my favourite curry house. Yesterday, I ordered the same thing I've always ordered and the food was so chilli that none of my family could eat it. And I have a very high pepper tolerance. My stomach and tongue still ache from the small amount of food I was able to digest and therefore I cannot return to this establishment. Food that hot should come with a health warning and hopefully this review will serve as a warning to others to be careful.

Thought I’d treat my family for dinner from one of our favourite places but the Madras was completely inedible today and went in the bin. Never in my life have I had a madras that was so spicy. I’ve had less spicy vindaloos. I don’t know who was cooking today but they must hate tastebuds. All that money and I’m still hungry

Lamb bhuna was amazing but the chicken bhuna tasted completey different and went in the bin, was good to see Ali again, nice guy

Food wasn’t bad, mostly fine though Bhuna wasn’t amazing. One rice was missing and they were apprehensive to just refund. Insisted on re delivering which is fine. But food wasn’t that hot when original delivery arrived so we started eating. Second delivery of rice and free poppadoms wasn’t neccessary as we’d finished by the time it arrived - just refund us, everything would’ve been cold if we waited! Anyway overall pretty disappointing

Food was great, on time and delicious. I did order 2 poppadoms though and only got one (3 in one bag, unless the serving is 1 and we got an extra??)

my favourite place, I've been ordering for years, changed it menu, removed my favourite dish and up their prices. This, I had to look for a new place. I think I found it. food was amazing

A bit oily but overall good food, maybe a bit more spices needed.

The starter was rather dry so I can only give 4/5, but the taste was great and it was delivered over 20 minutes early so I'm happy in those regards

The manager of this place is very rude. I don't recommend going there at all. He misbehaves with guests

We had reserved a buffet lunch at this place, which was supposed to start at 1:00 PM. We arrived at 1:30 PM, but the food still wasn’t ready. After waiting until 2:00 PM, we asked the manager about the buffet offerings, and he told us the items would be "random." We simply wanted to decide whether to go with the buffet or order à la carte, but instead of assisting us, he accused me of being rude and started arguing, claiming I lacked patience. The atmosphere and hospitality were extremely disappointing, so we decided to leave without eating.

Darjeeling restaurant as youknow you can't beat it.

We ordered dinner through Deliveroo, and we were very disappointed. There was no tracking time for the order, which eventually took an hour and 20 minutes to be prepared and delivered. We called the restaurant a few times, but nobody picked up. Then the driver arrived at the wrong building and unfairly blamed us for putting the wrong address. The food itself tasted good.

I absolutely love the food at the Darjeeling restaurant and would recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious meal :)

La comida era excelente y un artículo que se perdió en el último pedido se incluyó esta vez. Entregó un nuevo menú con algunas nuevas opciones así que espero probarlas. Han comido en el restaurante también.

Fui por mi cumpleaños, la comida era excepcional, el personal es amable y el servicio genial. Las madras de cordero fue lo mejor que he comido

The quality of the food was very poor. All the food was cold and the chicken tikka masala balti was very watery and lacked the flavour I was expecting - it well below the standard I am used to from this restaurant.

if I could give ten stars I would fresh hot and full of flavour so happy to find a restaurant that produces consistent quality and tasty food

2nd time ordering and have to say wasn't let down the meal I had come with king prawn normal prawns lamb tikka , and chicken tikka and chilli with plain rice had to check is wasn't a meal for two as there was so much nice little lunch for tomorrow 100% will be ordering again delivery driver was very polite

The food portions were huge! Really delicious, arrived piping hot too. Would recommend. I got the butter chicken and the Rogan josh prawn dish. Ordered some sides too. The paneer with peas is great too.

Uno de los peores platos de pollo al curry que he probado. Una vez fue un gran restaurante con una buena relación calidad-precio, pero ha bajado considerablemente. Ya no hay platos calientes para que los platos se mantengan calientes. Los entrantes no estaban tan mal, pero el curry era terrible. Ni siquiera parecía un curry. Darjeeling por favor revise las cosas y vuelva este lugar al buen nivel que una vez fue. Hasta entonces me temo que no volveremos. Qué pena que nos encantó este lugar.

wow!! I had eaten from here a few time but it was years ago, but I dont think I've ordered from here, if I have it hasn't been for a very long time, I was pleasantly surprised with how tasty & fresh the food was, the chicken the lamb was all so juicy tender & made fresh with delightful flavours. the peawn puri also so nice and fresh puri bread flurry & light not oily & thick like other places. top marks from me. exactly how ite supposed to be. very delighted, I'd highly recommend.

I had chicken biryani, the chicken was very chewy. The vegetable curry, the peas were like stones. It wasn’t an enjoyable meal. It was disappointing

Ordered at 6.45 and food arrived at 8.30, I ordered a lamb bhuna but revived a very watery chicken bhuna, very disappointed tonight

It’s not that it’s late - traffic can be a problem for anyone - it’s that they didn’t communicate. I got the delayed delivery message, so there was clearly a problem, but then the delivery was 40-50 minutes later than the revised time.

The pilau rice that comes with the main dish (shank of lamb) was missing from my order.

We ordered too many sweet dishes, but the food itself was good. I would come again and try a different combination.

Ordered a large amount for a work event. Delivery was quick, the food was unreal, the labelling was precise and made dishing up easy! Would 110% recommend and will definitely be ordering again.

Still my favourite Indian restaurant in London. This time it was a little busier than usual so ended up being quite a long wait but food is always excellent.

First time I ordered the food from this restaurant, it was bland and quite poor in taste. I thought that was a one-time aberration. So I ordered again today. The food is even more disappointing and lacks any discernible taste. On top of that, the delivery was delayed. I had to direct the delivery person (from the restaurant, not just eat delivery driver) to my door over phone. If you like your curry/Indian meal, I would not recommend ordering from this restaurant!!

Food was out for delivery for around 40 minutes before it arrived, meaning it was only lukewarm, but the taste was good as always.

You give away free stale poppadoms. The king prawn puri bread was thick and stodgy. Disappointing as it is normally very nice

Food is amazing I cannot deny that but as this restaurant assign their own drivers, it doesn't provide live track time of arrival. Anyhow, food does arrive and is definitely worth of the wait. Love Darjeelings 🫶🏼

Asma Khan is an inspiration in my life as a Bengali woman who values the deep connection between food and identity. The dedication to culture, cooking and entrepreneurship was evident throughout my dining experience. Eating food that I grew up eating in my home as a child in a fine dining restaurant was both therapeutic and eye opening. The Kosha mangsho fell off the bone, and was clearly cooked with intricacy. The Bombay chili cheese toastie (one of Asma's childhood favourites) was simply delightful. Dipping the airy bread with cheese & fried onions in the perfectly herbed/citrusy coriander chutney left my mouth watering for days. I would recommend anyone visiting or living in London who is interested in experiencing Bengali food to come to this establishment. Finish the meal with Masala chai, and feel comfort and sweetness in your heart. 🩷🩷🩷 Thank you Asma, your restaurant is a beautiful feminist representation of Bengali food in the fine dining world of the West.

A local gem with reliably above standard food and lightning quick delivery (mind you, I don't live far :) Naans are nice and warm on arrival, curries are at the upper part of the scale in terms of quality. My go-to for Indian locally

I did not receive the order iv been trying to contact uber eats by phone with no luck

Overall the order was ok. Some of the items were a bit bland, except one side which was over salty. The quality here is usually great so this felt like just an off day, but I still enjoyed the meal and it'll continue to be my regular place. Order arrived earlier than expected too which is always appreciated. I swapped here from my old regular place because the old place were regularly an hour late towards the end, but I've never had a late order from here, they've been early every time I ordered.

Food come stone cold and they lied about delivering food when it hadn’t been, never ordering from here again unfortunately

After waiting for 2 hours for our food with 1 hour being over the delivery time, the food was lukewarm, oily and not very tasteful. Its a shame as the food here always use to be nice but hadn't ordered from here for a while and definitely won't order again after this. There wasn't even any competently poppadoms etc for the delay.

Food lacked any flavour at all tonight, the lamb bhuna was FULL of tomato, there was more tomato than lamb
