I've had takeaway from here before but eating in is even better. Great food & lots of it - absolute bargain. Highly recommended.

The food was very mediocre both in terms of quality and taste. They charged 14£ for a set meal (limited) which is higher than some of the buffet unlimited meals in the UK. The vada was sour and some of them were undercooked and without salt. On the worst side, I drank the water from their bottles which caused me severe throat infection and fever (like flu) and suffered for a week. I would never go again here. Stay away from this overpriced unhealthy food provider.

Go for the food, and not for the ambience.

We used to get food regularly from Curry King, but prices crept up and up and it just wasn’t worth the money any more. After a couple of years’ absence, stopped by today to pick up a couple of veg sides to go with a home made curry. £7.95 for a 250g potato dish is a joke. So much better value, and good quality, food elsewhere. I think the Jay Rayner review and the expansion into next door have affected their prices.

Its not you come across a curry house like this, but omg what a find. Ive your going order the platers, they are fantastic drink lion beer, enjoy ever mouthful. The folk who runs it are brilliant. Its more than a ten its simply superb

Best Sri Lanka food in the town

Delivery was soo late to pick up from the shop.

Sirilankan cuisine wow the pumpkin 🎃 and aubergine 🍆 the chicken curry onion barji all yummy choice of rice with meat or chicken and 3 vegetables 😋 😀 😜

Delicious Sri Lankan food. The set meals are a good size and we enjoyed all the curries plus the mutton roll. Staff are friendly.

Food was amazing and my drink was blue with Basil, but I enjoyed it. Love a family run business. Only downside was; ramp in restaurant to get you upstairs, but no ramp to get you in the place??

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here, very big set meal which can easily feed 2 ppl. We over ordered as it was our first time and wanted to try everything! Our mountain of food only came to £60 with a soggy bag full of food to take home.

I was surprised discovering one day that I was starving, I didn’t knew it had so many great reviews. Definitely well deserved, Great food and very friendly staff. It will be great if they label the curries so people like me can learn the names of what we are eating.

Some of the best Asian curry we've had, hands down. Dare I say, better than some even back in our homeland. Definitely one for authentic and rich food, if you can handle it. The gunpowder chicken wings were so good! Definitely coming back soon.

The most delicious take away we have found in London and our go to most times we decide to get take away! The food is very tasty and has never failed to disappoint. They have now built a restaurant next door, so good to go early to ensure you can get what food you had planned to order, as I think sometimes they run out if you leave it too late! Never go without their onion bhaji and paratha bread! With it being walking distance too, it makes it hard to resist! Highly recommend!

The kothu, diss, aubergine curry and mutton curry are all great from Everest - generous portions too. Spiced well - the medium is hot enough for us !

Unfortunately my vegetarian meal contained a piece of chicken. I have photos and have reported to Just Eat.

The food was excellent we couldn't fault it. We got the set meal and all of it was delicious, I had read the reviews and it didnt dissapoint so much so that we popped in monday to take some home for tea highly reccomend the spinach and aubergine thanks guys. Excellent value for money.

This restaurant was my friend and I plan B as the place we planned on dining at was fully booked. After about what seemed to be 30 minutes of searching for somewhere else we saw Everest Curry King and decided to give it a try as we both have never tried Sri Lankan cuisine before Getting there we were directed to our seats and soon after given the menu Once we were ready to order, the person that attended to us was extremely helpful and patient, the food was filling and delicious - so was the drinks

Less food than expected for the price even though it’s expensive the food is bad not that tasteful.would never go to this again!

Surprised to see the good reviews. Maybe I came too late where the food had been sat out for a while. However the service wasn’t great as the woman was unable to understand English and then I ended up with food poisoning. Definitely will not be returning!

The restaurant was recommended by the owner of a nearby bead and breakfast and it did not disappoint. I had a quick look at the reviews before going in and I decided to try the aubergine along with other recommendations by the waiter. Simply delicious. And the portions were generous. I had the pleasure of dining at Everest Curry King recently, and I must say, it was an exquisite culinary experience from start to finish. The variety of dishes I sampled left me utterly impressed and satisfied. I had a Biriyani and my friends had Chicken Cheese Kottu, Dolphin Kottu and Rice and Curry with Lamb. And the guy who worked there was really efficient & friendly(not mentioning his name because of GDPR) and was handling the whole floor by himself, hats off to him. Really enjoyed the food. Tasty curries, options for the less spice tolerant at least by Lankan standards, great portions. Ajit was very attentive -thankyou!, And the food was quick! Took us back to memories of home food. Loved the Lankan coffee.

A Tasty experience at Everest Curry King Sri Lankaise Specialties! So, I popped into Everest Curry King for a quick lunch break, and it was quite a treat! The vibe was cozy, and they've got this deal where you can mix and match your plate with rice, meat/chicken/fish/egg curry, and three veggie sides. While waiting, they served up some poppadoms with this nice yogurt and herb sauce. Since I was in a hurry, I asked for a smaller plate, and they were nice about it, giving me a tasty lunch for under £9.00 instead of the usual £13.00 deal. For my lunch, I went for some lamb curry with white rice, and some aubergine curry, chilly paneer, and cauliflower in spicy tomato sauce on the side. Each bite was full of flavour. And the service? Top-notch. Quick, friendly, polite and on point. Now, I like spicy food to a certain point, but this was just right. I got that nice kick without blowing my head off and could feel other spices and herbs. Overall, Everest Curry King is simple and great. I'm already planning my next visit, and this time, I'm bringing the family along!

Delicious Sri Lankan food and amazing value! Enjoyed the new restaurant area and food just as good as when we first visited, over ordered but its easy to get a takeaway box so nothing wasted. We’ll be back soon.

Best Mutton wrap with Paratha and mutton roll. They have fish and veggie items.

We were planning to go to their restaurant next door, but unfortunately it was closed, so we decided to eat here and I must say this place did not disappoint. The food tasted so fresh and yum. Satisfied all of our cravings. We ended up over ordering and over eating because the food was so good. Every dish we tried was flavourful and spicy. Highly recommended if you are craving some solid Sri Lankan dishes.

I can see why it doesn't score so highly for atmosphere but they have opened a sit down place next door so it's less rough n ready than it used to be. The food is the real highlight here. I'm normally a car ivore but the vegetarian dishes here are so delicious that I normally stick to those. I'm not normally a beetroot fan either but theirs is fantastic. Also highly recommend the cauliflower. Don't get out of by the microwaves. This food is top notch and at thirteen quid is a proper bargain

Ordered from this restaurant on Deliveroo at 22:49 - they close at 11. You assume every restaurant is aware and accepts people could order right up to their close time. The order was accepted. 45 minutes pass, and Deliveroo call me. "Sorry, we are cancelling your order, the rider arrived and the restaurant was closed". Why accept the order on the system (which someone would HAVE to do or these systems automatically cancel a sent order if not accepted) when you have no intention of making it? Why leave your business for the evening with an order still pending? 1* well deserved. Now it's almost midnight and we have to find somewhere else to order from. NEVER will this business get 1 penny of our money again. Maybe you should consider if it should get any of yours.

Loved the chicken roti dish and the aubergine and mutton curry on the set menu meal, amazing food! Had a mango lassi to balance the spice, which was also delicious! Huge portions, we took some home with us. Definitely going back.

All the menu items we had were very tasty, served by a helpful and very welcoming staff. The new dining room is eclectic (swings at the bar area) but curiously charming. The menu is interesting and definitely offers a Sri Lankan flavour. Well worth a visit if you enjoy the spicier end of South Asian cuisine. Caters well for vegetarians.

Didn't like the way they put everything into one plastic small container. instead of putting curry, dahl, starter into separate containers as we were all going to share our currys but couldn't do so due to this.

The flavours were not to my liking, nor was the price nor the decor. For the price I didn't consider it good value, nor of any quality. Added service charge when clearly there is no service. Alcohol is far to expensive.

We have been meaning to come here for a long time. Shouldn't have waited this long! It's so good!! Recommend booking a table as ot gets busy, and with good reason. We had a lovely spicy (very) mutton curry, a masala dosai and a classic set meal (a veg curry, a meat curry, rice and a is couple of chutneys included in this. We also ordered a roti, 2 mango lassis and some poppadoms. Sadly only one mango lassi was available so changed this for a beer. That was the only downside (minor). Some people ha e complained about the prices going up since moving into the bigger restaurant, this is inevitable with the rising cost of rent and goods, the value here is still great!! Portions are generous, service is really good and food is delicious! (the smaller cafe style one is still going strong next door btw.) We will be back ASAP!!

I’d recommend a set meal , for £15 it’s great value for money , I had one meat curry , two veggies , rice. My paratha unfortunately was very dry but at that cost it was fine. The cocktails were also better than I expected , I was recommended the arrak roots - it’s certainly different , and if you’re open to trying new things - give it a go! They also have a small deli next door so you can take treats home.

The gentleman serving, Ajit, was superb. Very engaging and entertaining and gave great advice on what to order. We chose well. The food was excellent - a subtle but powerful range of tastes with good, but not overpowering, fire. A great experience.

Have eaten here many times before. First time using the delivery service. Everything you would expect. Food is cooked on prem. When you walk past in the morning, the aroma is just wonderful. And this is the same for their food very authentic.

Great Srilankan food and a lovely atmosphere

Ordered lamb kothu roti, egg and fish roll, and fish roti. Excellent flavour for a very decent price!

If you are a Malaysian and craving some crispy thosais/dosai this is the place to be… the sides for the dosai are so good and the dosai itself is super crunchy. Order the chai for a teh tarik substitute. Amazing restaurant with great service

i jus ordered from them on just eat and they cant even afford to give me cutlery or even tissues. some dirty animals. who do they think i am. not even rice what you want me to eat raw chicken. dont go to this place. idiots

This was my favourite restaurant when I lived in London! I will always recommend this place, the food is amazing.

Don’t go! Having been a regular take away customer here for years, I am horrified to find that Lewisham council have given this place a food hygiene rating of 1 (yes, one!) in May last year saying major improvements needed. I can’t see evidence of anything has changed other than price increases. I value my health too much to risk going here again. Should be closed down until said improvements are made!

Prices have risen beyond acceptable level for this type of diner. Regrettably won't be going back. There are many cheaper equally good options elsewhere. Many regulars will be looking elsewhere. Noticed that a Guardian review last year preceded this unreasonable price rise.

Arrived at 21h45 when hours were listed as closing at 23h. We were refused service. Hours should be updated to reflect the clearly inaccurate information as we had planned our entire evening around the listed opening hours.

We'll definitely be back! With friends next time to order yet more mountains of delicious Sri Lankan yummies. Thought it looked a bit expensive. Silly me! Ended up with a well stocked doggie bag that delivered three more generous servings!

I am vegetarian but there was meat in the rice in vegetarian menu so not great. Usually it’s nice.

Everest Curry King always forget something from the order. Tonight it was the rice. We still love the food, but they've never got the order right yet.

Unique and tasty dishes. We tried new to us cousine and tgis place didn't disappoint us. It was delicious.

The food is not bad, this place even features a great outdoor seating area although the first section is a bit small and cramped. However for a regular meal of ok tasting Sri Lankan food it can be a good option.

Great restaurant! We enjoyed the food and the service was good, I asked for some extras and they happily brought them. There was a nice selection and the menu is set up in a way where you can try multiple curries in one meal which is great. We liked the decor. Would recommend.

Ordered a classic set meal with rice and 3 curries. It all came in one small container and although the food was nice, I can't understand how they can charge so much for such a small amount of food. Very misleading

Absolute rip off! No value for money 15 quid for a box of liquid that resenbles a lamb curry that's got 2 bits of meat in it & x2 mutton rolls! No rice, vegs or poppadoms & yogurt an this is called a meal... An as I'm eating my curry with a spoon I'm finding more leaves an cloves etc than anything else terrible, shame because just to use all the time being so close but it's just not good enough now!!

Food is great, lots of choice - starters and variety of curry is great, all at fair price (not particularly cheaper than other options, as before). Service could be much better though - regularly having to wait for over 15mins for takeaways having phoned ahead before collecting. Food is then served cold, no receipts or takeaway menu available.

My partner and I went for lunch on Diwali day and they were so lovely. The service was very personable and the restaurant had a "family home" kind of vibe. The uncle serving us was lovely. Mutton rolls were amazing and a must have, spring hoppers with your choice of curries were great too. It's the family food touch that makes this a great place.

Food is amazing. Very nice fish curry and mutton roll. They have recently opened a fancier restaurant next to the takeaway one with a very nice decor.

Been going here for years, the food is amazing and if you like hot stuff (or milder things) then they’ve got you covered. My favourite is the vegetable or lamb choff, a deep fried potato croquette that’s just amazing. They have a cafe or more formal dinner seating, prices are reasonable and portions are huge.

Lovely place, delicious food. Presentation was exceptional. Clean environment. Great place for a date Owner was so welcoming. Had the chefs special ‘bone marrow’ everyone should try it!!

The rice and curry was poor value at £13. Dosa was passable, not crispy enough. The coconut chutney tasted a bit off. Would not recommend it to my friends. Not quite the same experience as Jay Rayner's.
