Soho Tavern in Solihull

1st time visiting here and on a recommendation. A warm welcome and very deceptive from the outside as it’s very modern on the inside. Syaani was very friendly and chatty, a shining example of customer service. The food was delicious. I will definitely return soon.

Third time at this restaurant, has to be the best visit so far. Food was absolutely FABULOUS, really enjoyed it. Being a pescatarian there was plenty of choice, the prawns for starters were yummy, and the chick peas were very tasty, had a nice kick to it. We always order masala chips as well. Whilst I did not have the meat options the grill looked equally inviting and I hear very delicious. We’ll definitely be coming again, soon becoming our local Indian & our next visit is already booked. Parking can sometimes be an issue but other than that this is a wonderful location

Hmmm where to start, firstly food delicious. The venue is smart and they’ve spent good money doing it up. However, we were put in a room that looked out to the garden. We could see into the kitchen, there were so many flies. They were really bugging us as all the food is brought out at once and so they are constantly trying to sit on us or the food!! They need to do something about the flies. The ‘trained’ staff are busyish one guy was constantly telling a trainee what to do rather than doing it himself. It’s like he thought he was the bees knees, I noticed this with another trainer upstairs being rude to a trainee. They need to be taught how to manage staff, how to speak respectfully knowing customers are around. It was just hectic it wasn’t easy to eat because of the flies and how hectic it was, the food tastes good. Not sure if we’ll go back.

This place was great when it first opened, sadly it's grown too fast too quickly, Food is good when it arrives but the wait and the service are now awful. Asked to squexe into a table outside, no instructions that table service wasn't offered outside, no QR codes on the tables to order and so many staff wandering around aimlessly without clear direction or management. Let's hope they can correct it or people will be giving it a wide birth and it'll be closed before you know it

We drove 45 minutes to the Soho Tavern having been to the one in West Bromwich numerous times. There is table service here which is different but that is all that’s better. The food was mediocre and not fresh the room warm and lots of flies flying around due to the kitchen staff having the door open when they were cooking. We ordered what we would have at West Brom and it didn’t even come close in terms of quality and flavour. £120 later we came away disappointed if you are getting in the car to get here keep driving and go to West Brom. A complete waste of time the staff saw how much food we left and how awful it was. The cutlery was dirty and had to be replaced service was fast but most likely things had been reheated rather than made fresh. They should not advertise under the ‘Soho’ trading name they are a very poor reflection on their other restaurants

We decided to watch the England v Spain Euro 2024 final here as we heard there was a big screen outside. Whoever was in charge of this screen set it up so late that we missed the build up and national anthems which caused tension amongst everyone. To make matters worse there was a time delay on the big screen outside so when the goals were scored we could hear cheering from the people inside the pub watching it on the smaller screens, 1 minute before it came on the big screen outside which completely ruined the game and England final experience.

Firstly, the parking was atrocious. So busy and so many huge 4x4 cars with idiots for drivers, taking up two spaces. Not the restaurant's fault, but it gives you an idea of the type of clientele this place attracts. We arrived as a family of six, having paid a £60 deposit. Upon entering the restaurant, we were given a £60 voucher to redeem off the final bill which I thought was a bit weird, but we were shown to our table fairly quickly. The restaurant was really loud - the music was really loud and the customers had to shout to be heard, making it even louder. Our waitress was attentive but lacked zero personality and her service was not personable at all. In fact, listening to her monotone voice was off putting. The food came out quickly by 'trainee' staff. I know they were in training, but know what you're serving us - this was especially annoying because we have a mixture of meat, veg and vegan foods. When we asked for the dessert menu, we were told by our waitress that there were no vegan desserts, but upon further scrutiny, we found that they sold the Little Moons mochi balls which are vegan. We ordered them - they were supposed to come with fruit but arrived on their own on a plate with some strawberry sauce on it. By this stage, we didn't want to make a fuss because for the last 30 minutes of our booking (you only get the table for a set amount of time) we were reminded six times that we must vacate the table by 8pm, that the next table has arrived, they are waiting... etc. It was really off putting and we couldn't enjoy our meal properly. The food itself (minus dessert) was decent. We will not be visiting again, and think we will stick to getting takeaways from Soho Tavern.

What a find. Great for a family/group get together. Vibrant, noisy and fun!!! Great welcome at the door, immediate drinks service and menus. Expectations were managed, pre ordering, re potential wait for food - which was not realised, there was very little wait for starters and then mains for eight people. Super service - great kitchen. Lavisha, our server, was friendly and super efficient. One of our party has a severe nut allergy , and Lavisha made sure the kitchen team knew which meals needed to be prepped seperately (and therefore safely) and they were. The food was really tasty - spiced to individual tastes. We all loved it. Thanks so much. 😘

Wow, what an amazing evening. We reserved the private dining area for my daughter’s 21st birthday meal. Nothing was too much for any of the staff. They looked after us so well, the food was incredible and the venue was stunning! 10/10, highly recommend. We will be back soon.

We have visited this restaurant 3 times now when at an exhibition at the NEC. What a great place, the food is amazing and service is great too. The food was a little on the hot side for my liking on the first visit so they made it milder for me which was perfect. Will definitely be back, this place is a gem.

We have been several times, and consistently I am impressed and enjoy the experience and the food. The fish grill in particular is excellent so much so that I nearly always have the same meal. The staff are always very friendly and accommodating. The person serving us, Lavisha, has served us before, and she is very professional and very efficient and our group all said the same. Well done Soho, keep up the good work. We cannot wait for the summer to come and also to be able to eat outside on the Veranda which is a marvellous experience.

This is my 3rd visit to the Soho Tavern, 2 at their Hampton in Arden location in Solihull and 1 at their original location in Handsworth / Hockley in Birmingham. Each of my visits to both sites have been a good, pleasurable experience with tasty food, nice friendly chatty staff, good size meal portions and great value for money. Will definately be making a 4th trip in the not so distant future.

First visit and impressed with the food and service. We sat in the main ground floor dining room; which could do without the huge plasma TV screens being on. Our server was Lavisha, who was busy. Excellent food, with far larger portions than other "Indian" venues. No pressure to move, though by time we left it was much quieter. Ask for one of the upstairs rooms if you have a four plus party. Spoke to the manager after he spotted us admiring the decor. Only downside - too much ice in the drinks.
