Karma in Solihull

Nuestro amigo organizó una comida de Año Nuevo para nuestra fiesta de las nueve. La reserva se hizo en línea, luego se confirmó con una visita personal un par de días antes. Cuando llegamos a nuestra hora reservada de 7 pm, encontramos el restaurante completamente lleno. También es obvio que la mayoría de las mesas están esperando ser servidas. Nos dijeron que serían 30 minutos. No había dónde sentarse, así que nos quedamos esperando. Nos ofrecieron bebidas, así que la clasificación por estrellas cubre eso. Después de aproximadamente 50 minutos nos sentaron y nos dieron menús. Pasaron más de 30 minutos y aún nadie tomó una orden. En este punto, casi 90 minutos después de nuestra hora reservada, decidimos irnos. Un miembro del personal trató de persuadirnos para que nos quedáramos, pero no hubo disculpas! Por lo que vimos, no fuimos los únicos clientes con quejas sobre el servicio. El lugar estaba claramente con poco personal y demasiado reservado, lo que resultó en un desastre total. Gracias a Karma por arruinar nuestra velada. Recomiendo evitar este lugar. .

La mejor casa de curry en Shirley Muy servicial. Amable y la comida es preciosa. Grandes precios también. Suelo ir con mi familia, pero llevé a mis compañeros de trabajo aquí por Navidad y a todos les encantó. Gracias como alwsys por su gran hospitalidad y deliciosa comida.

Beautiful lamb shanks really tasty, only marked 4 for atmosphere because we were there really early and only ones there.

Fui allí para una cena de cumpleaños recientemente con mi pareja y amigos. Tuvimos una buena comida y un par de bebidas y todo va bien hasta que recibimos la factura. Mi amigo vio que el precio era diferente para la botella de Prosecco ya que el menú de bebidas indicaba £ 15. 95 . La factura decía £ 25. 95 ! El menú de bebidas fue sacado de nuevo y seguro que decía £ 15. 95 (Creo que pensaron que íbamos a pedir más bebidas). Cuando señalamos el precio nos dijeron que estábamos mirando el menú de bebidas antiguas que tenía 20 años (por segunda vez) ! Luego sacaron otro menú con los precios tachados y precios más altos escritos en rotulador. El gerente fue grosero e insistió en que paguemos el precio más alto. Nos negamos ya que nos habían dado dos veces el menú “viejo” con los precios más baratos. Una estafa para que hagas el pedido pensando que es barato y espero que no te des cuenta cuando ponen el precio en la vaga factura que te dan. Nunca volveremos a este lugar - mirando otras reseñas, no somos las primeras personas a las que les pasa esto.

Got food poisoning from the prawn curry the next day, wouldn't recommend this place!

Another very nice meal last night, in good company, lovely wine, good service, nice Indian restaurant, what more can you ask for.

Fui a cenar con mis 2 hijos de 12 y 14 años sobre las 630 / 7 pm comió bien y me pidió la cuenta. cuando la dejó pregunté muy educadamente si había alguna posibilidad de que pudiera tener un desglose de la cuenta ya que acababa de escribir 1 cantidad en ella, el hombre mayor se puso muy grosero al declarar u pagar la cuenta dije que no tengo ningún problema en pagar solo me gustaría ver cómo ha llegado a esa cifra ya que la había puesto en precio ya en mi cabeza, pensé que tal vez me cobró por un par de pintas por error, luego se puso bastante abusivo diciendo varias cosas u pagar precio, abd recibió muchos abusos y se negó a darme un desglose, después de que recibí un menú él muy groseramente obtuvo su calculadora y la puso en precio al frente si yo que decía mi curry era este precio, etc, dije que no mi curry era de £ 8 (según el menú) dijo que es precios antiguos no actuales a los que dije dónde está los nuevos dijo que ha subido empezando a tener una oportunidad de mí llamándome una mujer loca si creo que ellos como empresa pueden dirigir un negocio en los precios del menú dije bien que necesita actualizarlos en el menú o poner algo allí para decir más cualquier porcentaje que insistió que no puede permitirse conseguir nuevos menús que estás loca abd obviamente no sé cómo se dirige un negocio, mi hijo tenía pepitas que no está en el menú al que me dio 5 precios diferentes por decir cuánto me han cobrado u me dieron 5 precios diferentes, fuimos allí hace 1 mes y tenía el mismo más barato. Terminé pagando la cuenta y me fui ya que estaba avergonzado por la forma en que me trataron simplemente pidiendo al abeto un desglose de la cuenta, me disculpé probablemente 3 / 4 veces por mi solicitud y no me disculpé de él, solo abuso. Puedo entender que todo suba pero que no me lancen maltratos así delante si mis hijos sin disculpas y que me inventen una factura sin uodar el menú con nada ?? Así que solo asegúrese de revisar su factura, y no pida nada, no volveremos de nuevo x

Traditional Indian restaurant at very reasonable prices, good for take out and eat in options. Tried a margins kebab which is Indian version of a scotch egg and garlic chilli chicken to follow and both very good Recommend for a good curry

I have visited this restaurant many times. Ok agree older staff rude. But when you order at half past 6 and it turns up at after 8 you expect a discount after calling and chasing good customer service would be we can’ t deliver please collect or a discount like all other food delivery providers I would have. I won’t be going back and recommend nobody orders a delivery or even goes if this is the service they provide.Shame as good food but bad owner or mangers. Have been telling my friends how good as well but will be not to go !

Ordered a delivery as a special treat. We normally eat in as a treat as cold and have been working ordered a delivery at 6:30. We know the staff are grumpy especially the older person if the manager or owner. But having chased for over an hour and told wait have to find a driver to bring. It turned up after 8:10. And was told had been cooked an hour ago pending. Asked for a discount. Driver asked older person bring it bk. no discount not sure why as no use unless they re using it. If was told no delivery service we would have either picked up or decided to eat in. Will not be going bk which is a shame. But don’t visit this place until they resolve customer service or you might be eating left overs that are returned. They did not even offer an apology. So bad customer service and don’t deserve to be in business !

Visited twice over last 4 weeks as local and convenient… no warm welcome by elderly I think manager despite empty restaurant. Food was good as ordered same both times .Attempted interaction with member of staff but not great response. Ordered a drink but not asked any further drinks required and had to ask for water. Brought one glass despite 2 of us. Check back on food was done. Noticed table leaving before us were given a complimentary drink think regulars. We were not despite being recognised. Overall disappointed and will not return and no tip unfortunately

A long-standing restaurant in the area serving both traditional and different Indian/Asian dishes. Service is fast and friendly, but the food quality and presentation has become very ordinary, even poor. Tough chicken, and tough boney lamb chops received on last visit, which is a shame as it used to be much better. Not able to recommend it now as improvement is very much necessary.

This indian has been here for years amazing food fresh as can been old school lamb balti nan bread was so fresh hot crispy wow I eat the lot 😋

This Restaurant is back! I have to say I fell out of love with this place a couple of years ago, as the food stopped suiting my taste but for that last 6months it’s been excellent and truly back to form. The food and the staff are great! Best Indian food in the area in my opinion and I eat a lot! If you tried it before and were not impressed, please do your self a favor and try it again….

This is the second time I've been here. I've got to say the food is delicious. There was seven of us in total and we all really enjoyed it. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We were in there for nearly 5hrs which went by so quick as it always does when your enjoying yourselves. So for great food great atmosphere give it a go.

Ordered via Uber eats eta was 25mins still waiting 2 hours later. Called 3 times with the same BS “be there in 20mins”. If you can’t meet delivery times do not advertise on Uber if using your own solo driver. Put your prices up and use Uber drivers. Shame as food is good, I will never order takeaway again from Karma. They simply cannot deliver in a reasonable time.

We have take aways most weeks from Karma and have not been disappointed. The food is consistently good and excellent value. Staff are always welcoming and very helpful.

Phone order in advance for a meal for five people,plus some extra bits,reasonable value at £60. We arrived at the suggested time,but had to wait,then the confusion started,the food came out,then went back in twice,as they could not find the guy who had the info needed? Very confused mess,food was average quality,and a few of the items we decided were a little below expected quality.

We have always had our Indian food from Karma and always gladly rated it 5 but tonight both meals although great tasting the chicken chasni and chicken saghwala were very watery not had this problem before so a little disappointed hence rating 4. If we have this issue in future don't like to say this but will be forced to look elsewhere unfortunately.

Five of us went for a meal.We arrived at 7pm,just one other table was occupied,an hour later it was full! Service was good,food was ok,but portions were much smaller than we would usually expect.

Lovely food.very nice place to eat.abd the staff.

decided to try this restaurant last night. So glad we did. Staff were welcoming and polite. Had the kingfisher lager which was excellent, so nice I ordered another pint. The poppodums were so tasty and the chutney etc was great too. We ordered a Butter chicken, Tikka masala , naan and pilau rice, all very fresh and tasty. Will return again soon.

Went last night as a group of 10 to celebrate the 50th birthday of our friend Pauline. 19.25: Arrived. Restaurant was busy but not full. Party of 10 of us were crammed around two small tables pushed end-to-end that would have comfortably sat 6 at a push. As all of our party were fully grown adult humans with arms it was very tight. 19.55: After 30 minutes of sitting and waiting we were finally asked if we wanted drinks and poppadoms. Waiter did not understand the concept of rosé wine and kept asking if that was red or white. "Rosé please" "Red or white?" "No, ROSÉ" "Yeesss....Red or white?" 20.10: 45 minutes in and drinks gradually began to arrive a couple at a time. Half of the lagers were completely flat and tasted awful. Pointed this out to the waiter and requested new ones but he point blank denied they were flat, despite there not being a single bubble visible, and did not want to replace them. He actually tried to explain me that that was what this lager was supposed to be like. It's a pint of Cobra son and this ain't my first rodeo. 20.15: After a brief argument we had fresh drinks but then got more attitude off the waiter who asked if we were "Happy now!?" Poor bloke copped an ear full off my wife. 20.20: As this was going on a party of 4 down the other end of the restaurant who had been waiting since before us got up and left (i assume they were having similar problems) despite the manager pleading with them not to. At this point one of our party called Fortune Inn (the Chinese) a few doors down who had room for us. 20.25: Walked out and told them we weren't paying (in fairness about £1.26 worth of alcohol) 20.30: Sat a few doors down, at a nice big table, with fresh drinks prawn crackers served friendly, competent staff. Had a great time! SUMMARY - Clueless staff: Waiter's mind was blown by the concept of rosé and felt that it was acceptable for cobra to be served flatter than a cup of tea. - Rude staff: Very dismissive when asked for fresh (fizzy) pints and when we finally got replacements, these were served with a side of attitude. - Zero customer service: 30mins to be acknowledged and 45mins for drinks. Not so much as a sniff of a poppadom after almost an hour of being in there. - Sardine tin seating: Had we ever got food i honestly don't know how we would have eaten it. - There are approximate 3.5 billion Indian restaurants in and around Birmingham. Can't see any reason to ever consider going back to this one. - Should be called Balti Towers

Karma has been my go to Indian restaurant for many years, whether with friends for dinner or a takeaway. It’s a real treat! The owner is absolutely charming, the staff always friendly and professional. The food is generous, freshly cooked and absolutely delicious, I’d eat it every night if I could. In all these years, I’ve never had a bad, or even mediocre meal and it’s reasonably priced. They have a very good choice of the usual lovely dishes, but also a more upscale list of choices too, which I’m addicted to. You must try the Jingha Zalfrazi and Chicken Nowabi, both sublime. Prawns in wine with onions is my absolute favourite starter. If you visit .... enjoy!

Greeted and seated quickly by very friendly staff. Our drinks also arrived quickly and the food you could tell was freshly prepared ...... can't recommend the king prawn balti enough, by far the best I've EVER tasted. Would definitely recommend and will certainly be returning.

Felt compelled to write a review as just had the most wonderful take away. 2 starters, 2 mains...rice and naan for £23...generous portions and so fresh and tasty, definitely won't be the last one...the starter and salad was a meal in itself! Very very nice...well done..

Very good service and high options. They have a great amount of options and they took very good care of us. However the water tasted a bit off and they dont have the best vegan range.

We went to the karma with friends and can honestly say the karma is the best curry house for Miles around for a really tasty curry always freshly cooked staff always very helpful and friendly even their take always are just as fresh and tasty great value for money food is always freshly cooked always willing to obliged very clean and very well run establishment we have been a regular at the karma for many years Ali the manager has Many regular customers

On arrival we were not greeted. There were kitchen staff, who, after five minutes were forced to come out. He insisted we sat on a table next to another couple. We didn’t want to. He wasn’t amused, the restaurant was empty. Eventually front of house staff popped by. We got food before drinks, food mostly cold mains included. To add insult to injury a couple sat next to our table clearly drunk, swearing loudly, arguing, etc. My husband and my date was not what we’d hoped. We do not recommend and will never return.

The food in here is delicious one of the best restaurant in shirley the staff are really welcoming they have a good variety of curries but if there is something you want that's not on the menu the chef will make it most definitely worth a visit 🖒🖒

Booked table for three. Staff were friendly and attentive. We were all very happy with the quality of food. Delicious. At no point were we rushed, despite spending over two hours there. Would recommend. We will be back soon

Went last night the curry was horrific really watery the chicken looked like is was used from all the left overs not chicken pieces I asked for a butter chicken didn’t taste nothing like everything just tasted bland not good at all !!!

Having travelled back to Birmingham we visited here on Saturday night with the family to celebrate my wife's birthday, as this was always by far our favourite Indian restaurant. Everyone enjoyed their food, which is of a very high quality continually and is really good value for money.

Having eaten at most Indian restaurants in the area, have to say that Karma is a bit of a find ! The food is up there with the best of them ! The service is great, and the low prices make it excellent value for money !

We visited this evening as part of a group for a charity event. Even though there were many people to serve the staff were courteous and kind and got the orders out quickly and efficiently.

We visited early in the week and there were very few people in the restaurant and it was very quiet.

Beautiful fresh food and the service was fantastic. I will be going there again and would recommend.

We enjoyed a fab takeaway from Karma. The food was delivered within 45 minutes and was delicious. A brilliant salty, garlicky dhaal and a lovely sag paneer. Really good food.

Well where do I begin well to start I would like to delete that 1 star but can not write this review without it ! after being told 45 mins delivery time absolutely fine as it was a Saturday night and yes we know they are busy understandably so we wait patiently we ring up after an hour and a half we were told another 10 mins we call back again and still our food had not even left the restaurant eventually and were told give them another 15 mins at this point we are considering cancelling but would take another hour from somewhere else being a Saturday after 2&1/2 hours our food arrives it’s freezing cold the chips were soggy and then the food was the wrong order ! Customer service is dreadful the delivery times are disgusting and the food freezing cold will not be ordering from them again !

I don’t even know where to start with this review well I would start by deleting that one star but cannot write this review without it ! We waited nearly 2&1/2 hours for our delivery we were told 45 mins so after an hour and a half waiting patiently as we know it’s Saturday night we ring up to ask will it be much longer to be told another 15 mins it will be with us ! Well guess what it still hadn’t arrived so I ring back up again and ask where it is he said give me 10 mins and I will bring it so it hadn’t even left the restaurant so when it eventually arrives it is freezing cold the chips were soggy and the food was not even the correct order 😡😡😡 so to put it in a nutshell poor customer service with very long delivery waiting times and not much to say for themselves I will not be ordering from them again !

Popped in with some friends midweek to sample bar menu/ taster menu. Food was absolutely delicious. Lovely relaxed ambiance. Highly recommended

Came here for a date night, restaurant was freezing to the point everyone kept there coats on, had starter but waiter forgot to take our main order, this was due to it being obviously understaffed. Before the main arrived we were asked to move tables for what reason I’m still not sure? Main arrived and food was very good indeed. When we finished we were told the card machine wasn’t working so I had to pay by cash!? Wouldn’t come back
