Returned once again to the Sofitel before an early morning flight. Luxurious room (Double upgrade as an Accor cardholder); excellent meal in the restaurant; great night's sleep; and quick and easy express checkout. Not much more we could have asked for other than an on time flight - which BA managed to provide.

Very classy hotel. Beautiful setting and fairly easy to get to without satnav. Stayed here with my wife and child and our room came ready with cot. Lovely restaurant that isn't too expensive. We had 2 mains and a beer for £60. The room itself was lush. We dont live near Heathrow so wanted a touch of comfort, relaxation and luxury the night before flying and it really delivered. Only improvements is that the in room phone didnt work, so to call reception i needed to use my own phone and call. Ok for me but a tad annoying if you don't have a UK phone. Will definitely do this again when flying from T5

We only stayed one night as we flew out early the next morning. The lobby, hotel room, lounge and surrounding areas were very clean. We appreciated the complimentary minibar and offerings at the lounge. Sometimes even at luxury hotels, “clean” is subjective. And I will admit, I was very pleased with the cleanliness of our room! I will be suggesting this hotel to family and friends to stay at, should they need a hotel at LHR. This will be our go-to hotel of choice when we fly out of LHR!

We were thoroughly impressed with our recent stay at Sofitel London Heathrow. We had arrived from South Africa at 5am and had paid for early check in at 9am. The early check was £90 but worth the cost when you've travelled for over 24 hours including an 11 hour flight with no sleep and not wanting to wait in an airport arrivals for several hours. We did pop over at 7am to see if we could cheekily check in a little earlier but there were no rooms available which we understood however they kindly stored our luggage and let us wait in their tea room until closer to 9am which we appreciated. We had originally booked a classic room with a Queen bed but decided we wanted a King size bed paid so we requested this upgrade to the superior room which would cost £25 if approved. Upon check in, the desk agent could clearly see how tired and desperate we were to get into our hotel room and made the check in process as quick and easy as possible. Not only that but she gave us an upgrade to a luxury room for just an extra £10 on top of the classic room price and the price we paid for the early check in. This was hugely appreciated and the room was amazing. Super clean with lovely amenities throughout and an incredibly comfortable bed that was very welcomed with how sleep deprived we were. The only issue we had with the room was that the shower door didn't quite shut properly but it was super minor and didn't bother us at all. The mini fridge with complimentary drinks was a lovely touch and very welcomed with how dehydrated we were after the flight. The free WIFI was also much welcomed after we had caught up on sleep to catch up with family, friends and social media after two weeks away. Checkout was super easy as well and we were emailed our invoice for our records which is good. The hotel was bright, spacious, airy and very clean (although we did randomly see a mouse darting through the Tea 5 restaurant area which was odd). It was god send that it was only a short walk from the arrivals hall at Heathrow so we didn't have far to go. It was very well decorated and very calming and soothing and definitely what we expected of a five star hotel. We didn't use the spa or gym so can't comment on those but they looked lovely from what we could see. The breakfast that was included with the cost of the room was amazing and probably the best hotel breakfast offering I've ever seen. The waffle and omelette station were really awesome and I enjoyed my omelette as well as my cooked to order poached eggs that were done to my liking. The only real issue we had with the hotel was the food at Vivre restaurant that we dined at in the evening. The food wasn't at all five star and the presentation and quality were seriously lacking for the amount of money we were paying. The food tasted nice enough but it wasn't in line with what we expected for the the price so that definitely needs improvement. The service was a little slow but it was a busy evening so we can't complain too much on that. We more than likely wouldn't eat there again without some serious improvement. Overall with the exception of the food at the restaurant for dinner, we would highly recommend this hotel and would stay again if we were flying in or out of Heathrow. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We were persuaded to upgrade our two rooms to interconnecting superior rooms and told we would get the minibars for free when we got to the rooms the mini bars were water which I would expect for free anyway, Bells whiskey which shouldn’t be in the fridge anyway orange juice and coke. When we asked at reception for the whiskey to be swapped for wine and was told that wasn’t allowed only gin as we drink neither the value of the upgrade was slowly disappearing. We then discovered there are no phone charging points near the bed so plugged in at the desk to then awake to get on a flight to the USA to discover none of our devices has charged. The TV would not stay on for longer than 5 minutes no matter what we did, and then when we got up we found the rain shower didn’t work as most of the holes were blocked. We felt completely mis-sold this upgrade which cost us £198 across both of the rooms, if you are offered this “as you can have the rooms now” don’t bother there is a nice bar just wait for your booked rooms to be ready.

We had a great and easy stay with the hotel being so close to the airport, yet so quiet! Quick service for food and house keeping but the place was a little tired. Shower doors not shutting properly so leaking on the floor, light switches not working so having to get up to turn the room lights off - it just needed an update. Which wasn't so great when the prices still reflected a ***** hotel. I expected a little more finesse.

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ “Disappointing Experience with Sofitel Heathrow’s Loyalty Policy” I’ve been a loyal customer at Sofitel Heathrow for years, staying here every December mainly for the convenience of their long-term parking facility. However, I recently discovered a disappointing aspect of their loyalty program. When booking a member’s rate, you’re not allowed to add long-term parking to your reservation, which is the key reason I book here. This restriction was never communicated during the booking process, which feels misleading. It seems that instead of being rewarded for loyalty, members face unnecessary limitations and penalties. Ironically, if you pay the extra £20 for a non-member rate, you get the flexibility to add long-term parking. For a hotel that prides itself on luxury and customer care, this policy falls short in both transparency and guest convenience. If you rely on long-term parking like I do, you’re better off not using the member rates. I hope Sofitel Heathrow reconsiders this approach to better support their loyal customers.

Update: my sister & I were sleeping when we both noticed that a man from the next door room opened the door that connected to our room at 3am. He gave us a look and closed it. I jumped off the bed and called the front desk. We got dressed as fast as we could and left the room with our suitcase. We went to tell the front desk again. How upsetting! What a fright! We could had been hurt, abducted or robbed. I choose to stay in expensive hotels because I believe in safety and the security it would be offered. Taking $50 off my bill ain’t gonna resolve this. As an American soldier, my safety is imperative! don’t recommend it at all. First time at a Sofitel hotel🤩AKMAL made my stay 💯🤩talk about excellence in customer service. He offered me complimentary breakfast but I have to catch a 4am flight connection and AKMAL said “man, I’ll have breakfast to go ready” wow 👏The hotel has very convenient location with easy access to the terminal. I asked in my reservation through American Express for a non-feather room because I am highly allergic and the hotel stated that the request never came through. I alerted the front desk once I went to my room and found feather bedding on the bed. The hotel took over an hour to "find" non- feather bedding and finally after 3 phone calls to the desk for updates, the housekeeping team arrived and changed the bed. I proceeded to go to sleep since i had an early flight departure. I woke in the middle of the night not being able to breathe. After further investigating, I learned the housekeeping staff had changed the bedding but simply put the feather mattress topper back on the bed. I of course got no sleep for the evening and it made for a very difficult day. At almost $600 a night for this hotel this type of service is unacceptable. I will not be staying at a Sofitel again and the hotel should take these types of health risks more seriously!

Signage from T5 was absent. Even with a prepaid voucher checkin was slow, tedious and time consuming with insistence on seeing passports and requests for credit cards … which I refused. I had 6hrs to stay at the hotel between flights. So it was frustrating that simple things impinged on that time. There was no plug socket or charging point next to the bed. Just one on the other side of the room. So I had to rig two power extension to get my phone next to the bed. This all took time and I was not in the mood for it. The downlighters in the room did not turn all of the way off so there was not darkness for sleep. The shower drain was slow slow that a 5 minute shower flooded the bathroom floor.

I stayed at Sofitel London Heathrow recently due to a flight cancellation. The staff receiving the guests were Indians. The hotel was quite run-down. The plastic room keys didn't work well. The hand-held shower tubes in many room had leakage issues so I could not wash myself properly. When I asked the front desk to give me a discount to my broken room, the Indian receptionist was reluctant and offered me a free breakfast. I told him that I needed to take a nice shower, not a breakfast. I checked in at around 2 a.m., checked out at around 6 a.m. and paid close to GBP400 for a lousy room and poor services. Not happy with this “luxury” hotel. The floor hallways are dimly lit and the layout of the hotel makes it difficult to navigate as there are always four directions to take at any intersection. There are no outlets next to the bed, meaning you would need to charge any devices across the room. Leaping out of bed first thing in the morning to shut off your alarm is not pleasant. There are two lamps that would not turn on, one lamp with shades visibly damaged. The bed sheets were lightly stained, the sink had a massive amount of mineral buildup that looked frankly gross, and room service accommodated an 11pm request with amazing reluctance, stating that they were busy. The request was for just cutlery and plates. The room itself is certainly not soundproof either as you can enjoy noises of movement from the upper floor. The shower randomly dripping water during the night is also a great surprise. The only redeeming features of the hotel are the fancy amenities where you can pretend to be bougee downstairs and the proximity to LHR airport. Even so, you must navigate through a lengthy walkway as you’re bombarded with advertisements on entry and exit to LHR. Would not be my hotel of choice even if the price point were halved. Two stars is generous.

I recently stayed at the Sofitel at Heathrow Terminal 5, and while the convenience of the location is undeniable, our experience was unfortunately marred by a few significant issues. The biggest concern was the couch provided for our daughter. Not only did it look uncomfortable, but it also had metal parts on the sides that stuck out dangerously. Our four-year-old daughter, being an active child, jumped onto the couch and ended up hurting herself on one of these protruding pins. This resulted in an evening spent at the hospital dealing with a bruise and abrasion on her stomach, which was definitely not how we planned to spend our pre-flight night. Another disappointment was the condition of the TV remote control. It had no back cover and was held together with duct tape. While I understand that wear and tear happen, especially with frequently used items, I didn’t expect to see such a quick fix solution in a hotel that markets itself as a high-end establishment. Lastly, the light switches in the room were in pretty bad shape. They still functioned, but they were worn out and didn’t operate smoothly, which added to the feeling that the room wasn’t as well-maintained as it should be. Overall, the location is perfect for an overnight stay before a flight, but the room's condition and the safety issue with the couch were disappointing and not up to the standards I expected from Sofitel.

Location is perfect - adjacent to T-5. Room is spacious and well-furnished. However, the light switches are tiny and clustered together and impossible to read in the dark or dim light. I challenge the hotel manager to try turning on the bathroom light in the dark at night. We also had problems with our key cards. After checking in and finding our way to our room (the first digit is the wing, not the floor number - huh?), our key cards didn't work so we had to return to reception to have them remade. The same thing happened the next morning. The breakfast is standard for a hotel of this class, except the coffee served by the wait staff from carafes is watered down coffee essence, not fresh brewed. You can ask for an espresso, or an American coffee made fresh on their espresso machine. But the wait staff didn't volunteer that option. Sofitel should not be serving coffee that is essentially instant coffee. There is a competing hotel adjacent to T-2 that is less expensive which we will be using on future stays.

I was very disheartened and disappointed with the service provided by the front office staff. After a very long flight we arrived at the front desk and waited in the queue for 45 minutes. The staff were miserable and looked over worked. When we got to the desk we heard the staff speaking to each other in another language and kept us waiting for another 5 minutes whilst they chatted. We were told to wait for 30 minutes as the room was not ready. I asked to speak to the Manager and his name was Akmal who was very rude and was clueless. We asked him for some coffee and water and he rudely told us it's not free and we can go to the cafe and pay. This creature needs to be educated on customer service by the senior management team We were given our room and the room were out dated and the lavatory was unclean with stains. My 6 year old son also found a used condom in the room. It was a very embarrassing situation for us as parents. There was loud music playing from the party in one of the banqueting spaces. There was a weird smell from the pillows. The breakfast was not a standard one would expect from a 5 star hotel On departure again there was a long queue and the front desk staff looked miserable. There are NO outlets next to the bed (at least in the king room), which is kind of important if you use your phone as an alarm or like to keep it near the bed. The hotel is adjacent to Heathrow Terminal 5 and is very convenient for an overnight stay before or after a flight. The welcome at reception was very friendly and professional. The room was quiet and a good size. On the other hand, I regretted that access to the spa had to be paid for.

This isn’t a terrible place, just a disappointment as a five star. Location is good and people are generally friendly, if a bit helpless. Some of the issues: Phone not answered when calling reception and concierge from the room Extremely weird power outlets by the beds - neither UK nor US or European. Reception was unable to help. Not a huge issue - but weird No invoice possible at check-in, had to return at 5 am No body wash at bathtub, just two conditioners Excruciatingly slow wifi Finally, I don’t love the upselling attempt when you want to check in early, but I understand it. Offering a king sized bed for 30 pounds when checking in at 8 pm for a few hours of sleep isn’t a great look. In conclusion, perfectly fine hotel, but not a five star. Details matter.

For ease of access into Terminal 5 this clearly can't be beaten but I struggle to see why it has a 5 Star rating. It's clearly a huge step up from a Travelodge but what isn't.

A one night stay pre-early flight, which was the best decision. Had an easy check in. Very comfortable bedroom, the shower door would not stay shut however Having dinner downstairs. Was surprised to have to queue but there were plenty of tables just a very slow host to seat people, however great service and food followed On going to bed, oh my! The bed was spectacular it really was like sleeping on clouds I'll do this again!

Booked this hotel as we were in London for the weekend..it's location is perfect for terminal 5 and the service in the hotel is excellent. We were very impressed with the standard and amenities at the hotel and got an excellent deal. I will always look at Sofitel when travelling from now on

Very disappointed with this Sofitel customer service. Our flight was canceled on 7/19 due to the world wide IT disruption. We called to cancel our reservation and get a refund and they refused to refund us. We ended up having to pay for the room and not using it. In addition, the first associate offered us to move the date, so we did and she told us we can always call back to move the date to another day once we resolve our flight connections, when we called back we were told that was a one time courtesy and they can't change it again.

Hotel is perfectly placed to T5. Great design both in taste and to support the ease of being a guest. We check in beforehand and dropped off the key card in the box by the front desk. Smooth. The room had all you would need, I especially liked the separate bath and shower.

Let’s cut to the chase. There’s one reason to stay here, and that’s proximity to Heathrow T5. For that, it can’t be beat. However, this is 2024, not 2008 (when the hotel opened), and admit it - what’s the one thing you look for in a hotel once you get past the bed and the bathroom? It’s where do you plug in to charge your laptop, phone, watch, iPad, and other accoutrements of our modern connected world, and on that score, this hotel scores 1/10 at best. Seriously, 0 USB sockets near the bed… 0 power outlets near the bed for your own charger (well, there was one outlet, but not a regular UK (or even international) standard that I recognized. A total of ONE USB-A socket on the desk on the far side of the room (which wouldn't charge my phone), and one regular power outlet in the entire room. Pathetic. Picky? Petty? Maybe, but for a modern traveler, ability to recharge your devices is as important as recharging yourself, and on that score this hotel is severely lacking. Make sure to bring your own chargers and extra-long USB cables.

The overall experience was very good, I chose the hotel because of his location. My only comment was on the last day which was extremely busy making it rather difficult to have breakfast due to the high number of guests

Hotel is easy to find from T5/parking. Rooms are as you would expect from an airport hotel. The service in the restaurant is non existent. We were showed to our table, sat for 20 minutes with no one coming over. The tables next to us were sat with finished plates in front of them and getting annoyed as well. Finally we left and went to the bar as the staff were much more attentive. NOTE - You can order most of the same dishes from the bar area... that come from the same kitchen.. and they are significantly cheaper if you order from the bar area. Its a much nicer environment as well with enough staff to serve the customers. Would I stay there again? I guess so as its the best option for T5 early departures but it is no means a luxury hotel.

Check-in was uncomplicated. The room was spacious and nicely decorated. Unfortunately the mattress did not meet our expectations. The futon was designed in such a way that we felt like we were on a burlap sack and could hardly rest. The bathroom was spacious and well equipped. However, the shower head of the rain shower was in a deplorable condition: yellowed and calcified, it only delivered a weak jet. The location of the room was quiet, except for the disturbing piano sounds from the hall below. We find it strange that a musical instrument was still being played at such a late hour, especially since many guests have to leave early in the morning.

We had a very convenient stay at Sofitel Heathrow. The hotel is within walking distance of Terminal 5, has courteous staff, and efficient check-in/ check-out procedures. The bed quality was fine - though not the best. Overall, we had a comfortable stay and hassle-free early morning onward flight. Thank you, Team Sofitel!

A fabulous hotel that couldn’t be nearer to terminal five. You can catch an early plane after a good nights rest in a lovely hotel - and do a twilight check in so you are not wrestling bags and families to the gate - this is the stress free way to start a holiday. Quality rooms and helpful staff - why can’t every hotel be like this..

It’s fine if you’re just staying overnight. We had an issue with our room which made our stay unenjoyable. We booked a family room for the 4 of us, but they didn’t make the spare bed so they had to come and do it when we arrived, but then they didn’t have any quilts available so we just had a sheet.

We've stayed at this hotel in the superior room before and loved it. This time we had a classic twin and it was good for 1 night but there were a few issues. The bathroom with separate bath and shower was good but for us, the TV would not work, the USB plug sockets had no power and the beds were pretty lumpy. It's a shame this deluxe hotel is not keeping its maintenance very well.

Sofitel has a nice modern feel. Good food options on site and loved the Tea room. Staff was excellent and helpful. Rooms were clean and great amenities, loved the Balmain products and the luxurious bathroom. Appreciated the soundproofed rooms and really comfortable beds. I would definitely stay again, more than I expected from an airport hotel.

Very attractive hotel with comfortable beds and you cannot beat the ability to walk to Terminal 5. However, I have never stayed at a hotel with NO power outlets at the bed - only on the desk (and only half of those worked). I have a medical appliance I need to sleep with and could not, which was a significant problem. Add to this the shower door would not close properly and therefore leaked, and the shower body wash dispenser was jammed - it was not a happy experience. Then, they would not let us sign the breakfast buffet to our room (which we anticipated and did not bring a credit card down) but I was glad of this when I learned the price - way too much. I expressed this when we checked out early (to get breakfast in the airport instead) and was offered a complimentary buffet which was appreciated.

2 stars for the food ; waitress failed to concentrate when taking our order as it was incorrect . Minus another star for the shocking noise in there when it’s busy - can’t hear yourself speak it’s like a kid’s playground (due to the low ceiling?) . Minus another star as a criticism of the owners definitely not taking note of how ridiculously short - and I mean it (!) the teenage waitresses wear their skirts. I’m not a prude, but one girl’s short skirt on the day we visited may just as well been a belt - the tall girl with the long wavy fair hair could barely bend over to serve the food . That sense of dress should be for her own social life , certainly not for waitressing - it’s a deterrent for decent customers. Please would Old Village Cafe management install a set of high standards for staff attire as I think it’s unprofessional and unattractive to be exposed to someone’s future laundry basket contents .
