The Village Cafe in Hillingdon

2 stars for the food ; waitress failed to concentrate when taking our order as it was incorrect . Minus another star for the shocking noise in there when it’s busy - can’t hear yourself speak it’s like a kid’s playground (due to the low ceiling?) . Minus another star as a criticism of the owners definitely not taking note of how ridiculously short - and I mean it (!) the teenage waitresses wear their skirts. I’m not a prude, but one girl’s short skirt on the day we visited may just as well been a belt - the tall girl with the long wavy fair hair could barely bend over to serve the food . That sense of dress should be for her own social life , certainly not for waitressing - it’s a deterrent for decent customers. Please would Old Village Cafe management install a set of high standards for staff attire as I think it’s unprofessional and unattractive to be exposed to someone’s future laundry basket contents .

Had a great meal here. The guys here are friendly, especially Faizan, the food was great, clean and hygienic and prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend this place for anybody who wants an authentic flavourful meal. SUPERB!!

Tried a few Turkish restaurants and this was by far the best. All fresh food and excellent customer service. Turkish tea is served on the house!

Update 20/8/22: have to get the lamb beyti and lamb shish. They are to die for. TLDR; Fantastic food, great prices, friendly service We ordered the 2-3 person sharing platter which came with a wide variety of chicken and lamb based meat preparations - kebabs, shawarmas, etc. Prior to the arrival of the food, we were served warm bread with delicious spreads that was the perfect start to the meal. The meal itself was lovely, all of the meats were succulent and juicy and flavoured just right. If there was a complaint, it was that there wasn't enough rice for 2 of us, and def not for a 3rd person. The icing on the cake was the delectable baklavas we had to wrap up our meal, which were served with a complimentary fragrant tea. All in all a wonderful meal at a very reasonable price. We def recommend the place.

I’ve just visited this very pleasant and authentic Turkish restaurant with my friend. This much needed new restaurant in Hayes Town certainly supersedes the plethora of fast-food shops and cafés that are located along both sides of Station Road and Coldharbour Lane. It’s nicely tucked in at the village point and an ideal distance from the nearby Station Road giving a pleasant and comfortable surroundings to the patrons. The waiter was very pleasant and chatty and, on placing our order, he served us with a very generous plate of hot pita bread along with five Mediterranean sauce dips/spreads and black olives. A fresh bowl of salad was also served. Our chosen main course was the ever popular mix grill sharing platter. The portions of chicken and lamb of were more than we could consume. The very pleasant chef emerged from the kitchen whilst the main dish was being prepared and served us a second plate of pita bread. The main dish was served on a bed of rice which was of sufficient portion as we already had our fill of carbohydrates. The waiter later informed us that the chef was in fact his mum. The Villeroy dishes and cutlery along with the crystal glasses further reflected the classiness and superbness of this fabulous restaurant. Inexpensive, great value for money and I’ll certainly be going back

The food is amazing, I've eaten in dozens of Turkish restaurants all over the UK and the quality of food at the Village Grill is unbeatable. The portion sizes are excellent and also the service is top class. We will keep coming back for as long as we are working in the area. Thank you very for providing a great service.

The village Grill is a nice cosy place to enjoy a nice meal with friends and family, staff are very welcoming ( Jana ) she welcomed me to come in have a nice me time with a nice mint tea and baklava , really happy with the service and jana would come and have a chit chat with us to see if we were okay and if we needed anything.

Ordered 2 club sandwiches, a prawn salad and a lemonade, got only one sandwich and the salad which had a bunch of hair in it. Totally gross, 0 hygiene place. Never ordering again and everyone should stay away from this shop.

The food took a little long to come but tasted good. The location is nice. They have a halal breakfast option which let's you swap bacon for a halal sausage. Customer service was decent too.

They made good illy coffee for the five days I was there

terrible customer service. I in at 7.30 on my own. asked for a full english. the lady said I would have to wait half an hour as she was busy making someone else's food. they need more staff and need to appreciate the customers that are coming in (big or small) overall I wouldnt go there again until they have more staff.

Set back from the main road, beyond the entrance square of the High Point Village development in Hayes, the Village Café is nonetheless open to the general public and has seating both inside and outside. The environment is pleasant, there’s a lovely atmosphere and the staff are friendly and welcoming. For lunch I ordered beef lasagne at £7.50, which comes with either fries or a salad. Not only was the lasagne very tasty, but it was twice the size I was expecting! The accompanying salad was also a generous portion size. Good value for money in my opinion and, depending on what you want, the Village Café is open for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Spotted this cafe as we were trying to find a place that accepted cards, we had been to several others nearby but they only wanted cash. My son and husband rode pizza but were told they had sold out, it was late in the afternoon so they choose burgers instead, I had lasagna, all the food was very good. No complaints at all, the coffee late was great , really hot and excellent place to visit for a meal. All food was very reasonably priced also.

We called here for breakfast after staying nearby on a recent trip to London. Had the full English and the food was great and portion sizes represented good value for money. Staff were polite and friendly and the food arrived relatively soon after we ordered. Location was great and the restaurant itself is clean and in a good location next to the canal. Would definitely recommend and would return here again next time I visit London.

Every year we visit this cafe when installing the stage for the Hayes canal festival and every year they are friendly, efficient and provide great drinks.

I worked in this area and visit village cafe for lunch everyday, nice and friendly staff, the food is nice too, homemade style, tasty.

Nice cafe. The food is prepared immediately, so everything is always fresh and tasty. You can order by phone or take away. The pastries are simply amazing. The chef is a master of his craft, and calm music is a guarantee that you will eat and relax without fuss. I recommend.

Nice location and atmospher on the canal however, when we sit inside the smell of cooking could put someone off. Also for coffee lovers , the cups are too small unfortunately.

To be honest, I went in twice or more because it is close to my residence, but not once was I able to order something that I felt was not delicious.

Found this tucked away place whilst waiting for my train to Paddington. It's not set in the most picturesque of places as it's wedged between apartment blocks but that is really the only negative I have to say. I ordered a cheese burger with a pina colada (weeeell, why not,) and apart from a slight wait which did get my fingers drumming on the table a bit, everything was great. The place is clean and quiet - perfect for going solo and there was a good selection of dishes for lunch. The staff were very polite and non intrusive and the pricing reasonable. I would definitely recommend if you are in that neck of the woods!

Had a walk along the Grand Union canal from Uxbridge. Climbed the steps to have a look at the new CrossRail-inspired developments in Hayes. Strange soulless open space that is crying out for a market or indeed any human activity. Decent coffee and take the advice to try the homemade Apple cake. The texture of the apple is spot on. Cnacubo.

Visited today whilst in local area on business and in search of nice lunch. Trip Advisor threw up the Village Cafe and it was worth the few miles drive to find it. Food was lovely - Falafel Wrap, a toastie and garlic chips. Home made dressings and dips too. Really nice food and service was friendly and welcoming. Would recommend if you’re in the area. Cakes looked lovely too!

We stayed next door at the Staycity Hotel and missed their breakfast but were pleased to find the Village Cafe next door. The restaurant has a French theme and serves a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes. Omelets were made to perfection and used the freshest ingredients. The croissants were flaky and their espresso drinks were made very well. I’d definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in the area.

Decent little place near the canal in a new development. Had a good breakfast and good service. Prices seemed pretty reasonable.

There is a good selection of food here, the quality of the food is very good too. Downsides to our visit were that I didn't receive the orange juice I'd ordered and paid for till the end of my meal, I also had to ask for it. No sauces offered, you have to ask for them. The lady who served us made us feel as though we were putting her out when I only asked for my drink... perfect location, lovey food but not very cheerful staff.

Such a lovely place. Family run and staff are super friendly! Coffee is top notch too! It's just by Hayes station and right near the K Spa.

Great coffee, and homemade sweet delicacies I tried the power cookie with oats and fruits was super nice! Great stop off before conference I was attending nearby.

We'd visited the London motor museum and refused to pay £3 for a coffee, so we went here instead. We were not disappointed. Lots of choices, drinks, hot and cold and cakes as well as hot meals. We chose a variety of things and all were well presented and very acceptable indeed. Service was quick and polite as well as all being well priced. Thanks for helping make my day such a great one.

Friendly staff and amazing food.

The Village Cafe is in Hayes Town near the Station, just set back from Station Road near the fountain. They serve Ily coffee which is my absolute favourite. The cafe is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful.

This new cafe opened late last year and is beoming a real favourite with locals. Set back away from Station Road in the private square of High Point Village it's easily missed, but also sheltered from the noise of the main roads. In Summer it's great to sit outside with a coffee (High Quality Illy) near the canal and the fountain. When it's cold go inside and try the hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows!

Relative to other places in the area, this is decent. Coffee is pretty good thanks to their shiny new coffee machine. We had their lamb grill before, it's delicious but the portion is bit small. The English breakfast was not good. So oily. The toast came with layers of cold butter smeared on top. The plate of food was oily too. The sausage tasted like 90% flour and 10% questionable meat. It's a huge plate of food but seriously oily! Hugely disappointing meal!

So close to the station and the High Street as well as the canal. Quietest spot in the area with a fountain to watch and great, friendly staff! Perfect for a quick catch up with friends. If coffee's not your thing, try the hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows!

Really had a great breakfast good sized portion would of been nice if they had halal fry up but till a new business. Really clean and staff will try and do what they can to make your stay welcome.

Staff are always very friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed. The food is superb and is always freshly made that day. I have to say the range of food in the menu beats most places in Hayes from the English breakfasts to the baclava's or the fresh pastries to the cakes available. It's really good. I became a regular after my first visit.

Really enjoyed a very decent cup of coffee here and a fresher than fresh salad with felafels / ratite. Everything is freshly prepared. Plenty of healthy options and a few indulgences. You can also rev up your Pokemon Go here.

The Village Cafe is newly opened business in the new development near Hayes Station. They offer a great selection of food from full English to Mediterranean style breakfast, excellent Turkish Kebabs, wraps and panninis. They also have lovely selection of ice creams and great quality coffee.It's clearly a family business and it's obvious that service is important to them.As well as an inside area for over 30 customers, the terrace offers a semi sheltered area just a stones throw from the Canal and is a perfect sun trap in the summer.I have visited a few times (the kebabs are without question the best I've tasted outside of Turkey) but today was with my daughter and enjoyed an excellent breakfast. Look forward to visiting again.
