My favourite cafe. The is the first place I head when I get to Bristol or Bath. Best coffee ever and amazing cakes :-) I love the one in Bath by the arcade.

Plenty of seating, never had an issue finding a seat. Staff are lovely and really friendly. Always a good selection of cakes and sweet treats, and a good selection of drinks, cold and hot. Milk alternatives are available and a great iced latte!

Wasn't able to order a coffee in the front garden of the Wetherspoons opposite with my Greyhound, so came to society cafe instead and was made to feel very welcome. Good coffee and cake too. Lots of digital nomads working here was laptops on a Sunday afternoon. Quite a chill hangout. Free WiFi. Quite busy but loved it. Thanks for looking after us!

Great cafe, that offers a choice of beans to pick from. For flat white, I'd recommend a third shot of espresso to fully enjoy it, though. Do try their cold brew, it is absolutely fantastic.

I used to have a good mobile network so never needed to use the WiFi, but now I don't and I rely on the customer WiFi. I only come all the way into town to this cafe to study as I enjoy the coffee and the atmosphere, but the WiFi is unusable. It seems pointless to even have customer WiFi if it this poor and it means I won't be returning, which is a shame.

Fantastic coffee!! But the cakes need to be covered; especially as they're placed directly next to you at the till. They often appear sweaty, not to mention there's flies. Otherwise, the vibe is great and it's a cute place to sit outside for a coffee and catch-up with friends

Lovely Coffee shop we come here everytime we visit Bristol. Our only issue is the coffee (Decaf Americano)doesn’t stay warm even with hot milk! Also bigger cups/Mugs would be nice! The cakes (Lemon drizzle) are very yummy!

Not featured: coffee as I scarfed it down before I thought to take a photo. The vibes of this place were spot on. I appreciated them having 2 zones as 1 was a bit rowdy with little kids while the other was a bit more peaceful.

Great coffee plus really good gluten free cake options. The server was very on it in terms of cross contamination too - I'm coeliac so she made sure to get the cake directly out of the box for me

Painfully slow!! Wasn’t busy, but they were not in any rush at all to do anything. So far been waiting 20 mins and still waiting.

I can't comment on the coffee, as I had a great smoothie. Lovely spot by the docks in a pedestrianised area. Lots of seats inside as well. Well worth popping in for relaxing refreshments.

You can’t go wrong with coffee at Society Cafe. They’re always delicious. A latte costs £3.90 to have in (correct as of August 2024). Atmosphere is great with a nice ceiling to stare at (not joking). Great place to meet people, terrible place to work as the wifi is terrible. Sorry… very terrible. Hey, at least it’s password protected.

Great iced latte with a good amount of crema from the espresso. Cold brew had a very acidic/ethanol tasting to it which might suggest it had been steeped for too long.

My coffee was carried for 15 minutes and I was reminded about it twice

I was only a delivery driver with a pallet and Elle bless her not only helped me carry the pallet in but also offered me a coffee which I have to say was beautiful! And much needed! Thank you Elle and society cafe! Great people great place!

Delicious coffee, super friendly team. Shame they only served coffee in single use cups because it’s Harbour Festival (not environmentally friendly). I love coffee out of a china cup, not paper.

I really like it here because it’s so calm and the staff are kind. The cakes are yummy and the drinks are sweet and nice. (Review from my daughters)

Como la alternativa más básica (leche de avena). El matcha tampoco fue tan bueno. Me lo recomendaron pero creo que puede estar sobrevalorado? en general un lugar promedio

Great coffee and atmosphere, but veery bad wifi which is a big factor to me staying and buying mulitple coffee's. Would come back a lot more if this was improved.

Lovely dog friendly cafe! Tried the avocado, chocolate matcha traybake wasn’t for me but a lovely member of staff (Ellie) got another cake for me to have, so very kind! Definitely recommend:)

It must be a damn shame being another coffee shop in Bristol city centre because this one is hard to beat. Even the other Society Cafe next to the Poseidon statue doesn't match the same atmosphere. Great coffee, cakes and wifi. A good space to socialise for a bit or working on a laptop, with good wifi speeds. And of course, always good to watch people try opening the side door in vain after they've locked it because of high winds I have never read the newspaper that they put out but you know what, it hits exactly the right vibe.

Society Cafe is always very reliably great coffee and a good vibe.

Laptop friendly, friendly staff n strong coffee ☕

Looking for a cup of tea and coffee and came across this little gem Friendly staff good tea and coffee was good too, Lemon cake excellent and flapjack good too. We asked the girls serving for somewhere nice to eat that did good not too fancy food and suggested a place which turned out to be really good so thank you girls your choice was spot on. The girls were working Friday afternoon around 4,30ish. Great alround service.

Great coffee in a beautiful location. Milk alternatives available and they have a good selection of vegan and standard cakes. Be aware it's card payments only.

Couldn't fault this place. The coffee on the flat white was complex and floral, almost verging on a dark chocolate. The hot chocolate was perfect. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the whole place had a chilled and welcoming atmosphere. Plus they're dog friendly! We'll definitely be back whenever we're near.

Friendly service from the guys at the counter. I ♥ it. The place is located in the harbourside area so really worth a visit for coffee when sunny and outdoors open again.

Ordered a cup of matcha latte and it tasted like powdery milk. Tried their coffee previously and I would stick to the regular ones.

Below average coffee, neutral service, not at all comfortable atmosphere

Relaxed harbour-side spot for top quality artisan coffee (there’s a board with the offerings of the day) and delicious baked goods. On this occasion my partner and I had an americano with the “Dak” Ethiopian espresso, an earl grey tea and a raspberry dark chocolate brownie. The coffee was subtle and complex and the brownie was gooey and rich. Price point may not be necessarily be the most inexpensive, but is understandable given the location and quality. Expect to find a lot of creative types hard at work on laptops/notebooks sampling the brews.

Really friendly staff! Quick service and a tidy place to relax! Went here to do some studying and have some coffee! Came out hot with some pretty latte art. Nice cafe to get work done, meet friends or just to grab some drinks. Staff were consistently walking around and cleaning tables and were happy to interact with other customers! :) Definitely recommend if you’re in the area or passing by.

Society cafe is a nice spot located near the river / harbour area in Bristol city centre. It is always busy (in a nice way) and it has a nice atmosphere to sit and relax with a hot drink. I've particularly enjoyed visiting here recently when it has been so cold outside, as the cafe is always warm and cosy. The drinks and food are quite expensive so I wouldn't come here for a take out drink, however I have always had a good experience here and the drinks are really good, so I don't mind paying a bit extra every now and again! One thing is I wish they wouldn't charge extra for non dairy milk!

A chilled environment with pleasant patrons all 'doing there thing' with their laptops, their coffee's and their life challenges. Some are more discreet than others. Lots of ladies gossiping about their bf's. Scandal seems to loom large in this area of Bristol. The staff are very amenable with excellent customer skills. Just treat them like lost friends.

I enjoyed my aeropress coffee here. Staff were friendly. Spacious cafe. Filter coffee is also available, as well as espresso-based coffees.

Great spot for a coffee or tea in the thriving old town of Bristol City. Superb coffee (I'm a self confessed coffee snob) and a great location. Their food and snack are totally up there! Well recommended.

Been here multiple times now, and each time I've loved it. The baristas are incredibly friendly and helpful, and are very skilled at making exceptional coffee. They sell your basic drinks, aswell as allowing you to choose a different variant of coffee beans, although this does cost extra. I've had an iced latte and a hot latte, flat white, fruit tea, and cortado from this coffee shop, as well as a berry flavoured drink from their fridge, all of which were amazing, and had excellent texture. The wait times are regular, with most drinks being served in 2 to 5 minutes. Obviously, this increases if it's busy, but even on the busiest day I experienced there it took under 10 minutes. The costs are one negative aspect of the cafe though as, although not by much, they are more expensive than surrounding shops. A latte, for example, costs £3.70, and alternative milks cost +20p (used to be +40p), and guest espresso is +40p. The serving sizes are around average for a café, with a latte being 12oz, and a flat white being (I believe) 9oz. The building is incredibly cosy and inviting, although it can become crowded during lunch. Overall, it's a great café with exceptional coffee, amazing service, great atmosphere, but slightly overpriced items. Plus they also sell coffee beans and equipment

There's a lovely friendly atmosphere here and I love the layout. Clearly an old warehouse at one time, its lost none of its old fashioned charm. Great coffee!

If you're looking for a place to sit down, have a break and maybe do a little work, this is a solid choice. If you want that unique Bristol vibe, it may be a bit lacking. This is a lovely coffee shop, but goes to show smaller venues seem to have more character. This is quite a big location, with open plan spaces and lots of tables. That's great, but with Bristol offering so many unique and interesting experiences, this felt a wee bit flat. There were some nice items to buy, but without prices which is a pet peeve of mine. There is a big BUT! These are small things that reduced my recommendation. It was clean, with great coffee and the service was really good. Far better than most places you could up in.

Their coffee and teas come from trusted suppliers. I met one of the coffee managers from Origin coffee and they are a B CERT company which means even stricter ethics than the classic fairtrade label. It's a great team of lovely people who give their best every day to make people's lives a bit special. I love this cafe. My only criticism is that they might consider paying someone to wash cups instead of tenpence to throwaway a paper cup. I think there's plenty of room in that building. (I'm a waste reduction specialist @societycafe call me for professional advice😉)

Best place to work for a few hours, fuelled by the tastiest coffee and almond croissants. The team couldn’t be more welcoming and always the friendliest service. The tall blonde girl with tattoos couldn’t have been more helpful with finding the best place to sit with my laptop. Love it here.

Nice place and environment but customer service wasn't great. We had a waitress being rude to us when she had no reason to. Kindness goes a long way, especially for businesses, so won't return or recommend.

After a buffet and looking like a fat Snorlax that was too big to even fit in a pokeball we found this neat cafe. Very calm and easy going. Nice coffee and staff regardless of how me and my family were very vocal on how the vegan buffet tasted as bland as a piece of paper; my nan’s sock has more salt than any of the food that was served. Luckily you won’t find that here.

This is a large coffee shop that sells to provide everything. Places to work and enjoy coffee, places to socialise.. And enjoy coffee, coffee to buy, cakes to enjoy. It is busy though, they adapt to this well but bear in mind it can queue out the door

The coffee was so good, I loved it, we ordered Banana chocolate cake and banana and peanut cake, they were so good, the staff are friendly. I recommend this cafe

We went here for breakfast from our hotel. Excellent lattes and pastries - although very disappointing that they sold the last almond croissant to the man in front of me!

Good coffee and cakes. A nice place by the harbour to dine in or take out. Partly due to it's own popularity, the queues can be quite long to be served.

I add a matcha and the banana and chocolate bread and it was delicious.

I went in for morning tea today with a friend. Lovely tea and atmosphere. We left to realise my friend had left something valuable to them. We let the staff know and they went beyond expected to help us find it and eventually got it back to us. A lovely and kind team. If you want your coffee with some heart, then go here!
