The location of Socca on South Audley is the former location of Richoux another French Bistro that was there for many many years but along with its other locations, didn't make it through Covid. On the recommendation of our concierge for a nearby location for a lite lunch we booked in. As nice as Richoux was, Socca is a big step above. The renovation of the space is beautiful, the staff attentive and food delicious. Beef Carpaccio, Green Bean Salad and Veal Meatballs shared by both of us with a glass of wine and espresso finish was more than enough. Every dish was excellent and we look forward to returning the next time we are in London. The restaurant is not large and popular, so bookings suggested.

This has one of the prettiest dining rooms in London! The light front room reflects the colours of the sun and the sea in the South of France - all blues, yellows and soft browns - but the feel is sophisticated and 'Mayfair' with walls which are full of gorgeous Jean Cocteau type drawings (there are stunning lampbases too). The china and glass are also beautifully chosen and a treat to see on the table. This restaurant is a tasteful feast for the eyes as well as the palate. The staff are super too and are noticeably well trained, so they are nicely engaged without being intrusive. I went with a friend who is in her eighties and they were so lovely with us both; friendly but polite and properly attentive. We each had the same: the burrata Pugliese from the (very reasonable) set menu, which was fresh and delicious with wonderful Spanish olive oil, and then a very tasty dish of delicately cooked sea bream with tiny tomatoes and olives. I ordered broccoli and green beans as 'sides' and was rewarded with some of the most perfectly cooked vegetables I have ever had. We then had an a la carte pudding - baked alaska with tropical fruits, which is a terrific combination - yummy as well as being fun as it's served with a sauce which is flambeed at the table. So the whole evening was thoroughly enjoyable and we felt very spoilt. I can't really comment on pricing because we were mainly 'prix fixe' and only had a limited amount of wine. But we had quite a few 'extras' and a pudding from the main list and even so the bill was really quite reasonable.

We dine regularly at Socca as a family, usually for lunch or dinner, but finally tried the new afternoon tea today which was INCREDIBLE. The offering was really unique, everything delicious as always, presentation was 11/10. Our kids especially loved the little choux buns in the middle layer! The staff are always so lovely and accommodating, and I must mention the manager Zac, who our kids absolutely adore!

Beautiful restaurant with attentive staff. The menu is extensive and there was so much choice - the food was exceptional and wine selection was also amazing. Definitely recommend Socca and all the other restaurants in this group. We are never disappointed. Socca has a lovely charm and has an amazing atmosphere too and is perfect for a catch up with friends.

My aunt and I went for lunch at Socca today. My aunt ordered salt and lamb squid, and veal stuffed vegetables. Both were exceptionally salty. She did not want to waste the food so tried to take in, but really could not continue. She then ordered a beef capaccio instead and ssid it was good. Desserts were delicious. What a shame for the starter and main dish, couldn't really say they were good. Need lots of improvement.

I wish I had read the reviews before choosing the restaurant for a light lunch to meet a friend. Firstly having specifically asked for a glass or small bottle of sparkling water, and the same of still water, a large bottle of each appeared on the table. There was only one type of sparkling wine available by the glass which at £22 each, doubled the price of the set 2 course lunch at £28. The price was not mentioned and the maitre’d did not know what was available, it was the waiter who did. The green bean salad starter was substantial and although good, was laced with too much spring onion. The petite farcies main course arrived in an earthenware casserole dish, distinctly unattractively presented and making it somewhat difficult to eat from, added to which the baby aubergine was barely cooked before being stuffed and therefore inedible. Much praise has been lavished on the celebrated chef Claude Bosi but this was clearly not his best offering. As we were leaving our coats were handed to us without finesse, one even dropping to the floor, adding insult to injury having had a 15% service charge added to the bill !

This was our second visit to Socca. Our first visit was excellent. This visit no different, we were welcomed by friendly staff. welcoming and professional, as you are escorted to your table, I you know immediately you are going to have a wonderful night and you do. The food from appetisers, mains, desert,s I are delicious. What a lovely place to eat. We've eaten at many fine dining restaurants in London, honestly this place is fantastic and in our top 5 Now some of you are going g to say it's pricey. Ok but if it had a Michelin star you'd say its not (which it deserves by the way). Not that this star defines a restaurant. Thanks to all the staff for our wonderful experience and food. Your owner must be very proud. We will be back on our next visit to London.

Very disappointing. This is not cuisine nicoise. The socca had an overpowering taste of citrus and it didn't taste like socca from the Vieux Nice at all; and it was served with a spread, like it was some pita, which is weird as socca is eaten on its own, it's not bread. The menu missed many Nicoise specialties: no pissaladiere, no daube, no raviolis, no courgette flowers, the provencal beef cheek has nothing provencal: it's a boeuf bourguignon. Everything was too salty and not delicate. I was expecting much more for the price and the name. If you have the audacity to call your restaurant Socca then you have to serve proper cuisine nicoise. Service was really nice though, and the wine by the glass selection is very good.

Diner this week. Lovely restaurant. Friendly staff even though the presence of the RM and HS would be welcome. On my visit, both were away. Tripes are truly excellent and next time, I will try the wine-based beef cheek that a table next to mine had ordered as the sauce looked very pretty. My offices are not very far and as I walked by this week, with the sunshine and warm temp that day, I was expecting to see the two tables outside on the pretty terrace to be busy. Strangely no. As I passed by the restaurant, I saw an couple leaving Socca so I asked them: “Did you just have lunch there? Yes. May I ask why you did not sit outside with such a lovely weather? We were not proposed. But would you have liked it to? Oh yes”. Maybe the RM did not want to serve outside outside? Now Socca belongs to the same group that owns Jamavar for ex. I happened to have lunch at Jamavar last week on their terrace. As I asked to be seated at the terrace, I was told that there was a GBP 125 minimum spend (do not remember if it were per head or per table). It took the table. Maybe it is the same policy at Socca? Maybe not. In any case, the restaurant was far from being full and it is a shame that those outside tables were not even proposed to customers. Mind you, at Jamavar, at around 1400-1430, as I was finishing my lunch outside, a couple enquired about the empty table next to mine and the staff said again, minimum spend etc… They left. What a shame… They could have had two more customers. They did not need to charge the minimum as it was already 1400-1430 and as I was not going to check their bill anyway! Outside dining is so rare in London, especially in a nice area like Mayfair. Strange to not capitalise on it. Again, not my restaurant, not my business. They are the professionals, I am not in end. The owners must know what they are doing…Next time, I will try the beef cheeks!

The Good Lady Playtime and a couple of friends had a lovely supper here last month. The setting is great (although we were sitting at the front part of the restaurant - the back looked like an afterthought). The staff was amazing and the food, whilst nothing to write home about (I do see the irony of me writing about it right now), was fine. Pros: Great location, lovely service, lovely food and a very well-curated wine list. Cons: It's nothing special, and it's a touch pricey for what it is. For example, I rolled with the steak and it ain't no steak restaurant. it wasn't bad or worth complaining about but I'll definitely try something else next time. We'll definitely return, but not in rush.

The location, decor & chef’s pedigree suggested we were in for a treat. The reviews in the press were mixed and now we know why! Our first starter the aubergine caviar tasted more like an aubergine chutney. The lentil salad was at best dull. The onion tart was different and tasty and the socca was nice. But, the asparagus dressing was too sweet for my taste. For mains we shared the sea bass and had a portion of beef cheeks. Watching the waiter taking the fish off the bone was painful. It was then placed onto a cold plate for us to help ourselves. Eating very nicely cooked sea bass cold, which still had some bones in it, for £125 was less than great value. The beef cheeks were very rich & tasty. Finally the cheese plate was generous in portion size & the crème brûlée delicious. I emailed the restaurant with my feedback as with some tweaks it could be very good. They have not bothered to answer me which may be indicative.

Socca has reminded me that the company you are in makes the lunch not the restaurant. Where to start: - Food is good but not fully authentic French - Fish wasn’t prepared correctly - Crème Brûle was still cold - Tea served without milk However all the above comes with a Mayfair price tag! There’s plenty of other wonderful options nearby, which have better service and food.

The service was efficient but impersonal. The prices are extortionate. I had two of my favourite starters but I couldn’t taste the tuna as it was smothered in an oily, strong sauce as was my Carpaccio. My husband had Octopus Bolognese and it was a spicy tomatoe sauce which apparently “had crumbs of octopus “ which he couldn’t see or taste. Overall , it was a very dissapointing experience.

The restaurant only offers tap water which my wife can’t drink for health reasons. The waitress allowed us to get our own bottled water. When the manager saw this, he was completely uncompromising “You can not bring your own water” and all we could do was to leave the place. He made no attempts to find a solution

But it ain’t cheap, no sir ! However if you stick to Bosi’s mother’s Tripe or say the Rabbit Leg you will surely find value (Mayfairwise that is). What kicks is the avaricious wine entry level - this restaurant is by no means ‘fine’ dining so the wine should be priced accordingly and if so it might then become a contender as a worthy replacement for that venerable institution the late lamented ‘Le Caprice’ which excelled at the synthesis of quality, atmosphere and value.

The food was decent - same price and style as LPM but not quite as good. The madeleines were amazing though so hats off to the chef who made those. Would be nice if more of the main courses were individual portions rather than for x4 pax. Oddly the Socca itself was the one bad thing we ate - really oily and flabby and not at all like the Socca I have tried across the S of France nor the Socca we had by Alain Ducasse a while back.
