Sobo Beach in Bournemouth

I’m a regular at SoNo beach & love everything about Sobo Beach. The location is fabulous, right on the beach. Love the way that they “cosy” it up in the winter with a sail covering & heaters. Food & drink are great from breakfast baps & coffee to cocktails & beers at the legendary Sunday Sessions. One or two reviews mentioned that it’s a pricey, given the location of SoBo Beach I personally think that they’ve got it about right. The atmosphere is always warm & friendly. Everyone welcome from babies to oldies. Love that it’s all dog friendly & have never seen problems with dogs (they even provide dog blankets for your dogs) An amazing addition to Southbourne Beach.

Delicious food, fresh & quick service. Well organised & lovely staff. The only thing that is annoying is all the dog owners who think its ok to allow dogs to takeover, which us not the venue’s fault.

First visit for Sunday sessions as was recommended. Very hectic and confusing place with 4 separate hatches for items..cocktails..food..coffee and bizarrely ,,'everything else ' . The hatches are all located on the same side but are a distance apart so the endless and continuous queue has no direction which hatch you are queuing for!!! Tripping over countless dogs on retractable leads, some wet from the sea and small children running around. The DJ area is too small and compact so not enough room to dance ect and prices very expensive...£2.50 for a cup..not a pint cup..of coke!! Off site cabin toilets...3..mean more queuing and losing your seat as you have to leave!! Seating areas were not cleaned so dirty cups ect left on tables. 2 stars for the venue stool seating where you can perch and enjoy the view and the music was good but hard to hear from the far end!! we won't be coming again. Disappointed ☹️

Great vibe, friendly people. Unbeatable views in a wonderfu location. Strong community feel. Very relaxed. Inexpensive.

A cold. but sunny day and after a stroll along the Promenade we stopped at Sobo for a Coffee and hot Chocolate. Sat upstairs on the Sobo Bus with the sun shining was superb. The staff were friendly and it's well worth a relaxing break.

What a great place to stop for a few drinks whilst at the beach. Really great service, nice facilities & great staff. Yes, maybe slightly more expensive but it’s literally on the beach so it’s worth it.

A bit on the pricey side but of course you pay for the atmosphere and location, there is a wonderful buzz at SoBo beach and on a sunny day the view over the beach is just wonderful. My husband had the sourdough toast with smashed avocado… very tasty with a good kick of heat, although there was so much avo that it would have been good to have 2 slices of toast rather than 1 and I had the portobello mushroom and Halloumi bap whip was very tasty. We are usually swimming in the mornings so always hit breakfast time but will be returning to try out the lunch / dinner menus as there is a great looking choice on offer.

Excellent parking , toilets. Food and very clean beach with golden sands. New beach shops/ food cater for gluten free with very good customer service. Highly recommend, only 1hr 50 min drive from London.

Felt that it is very over priced for soft drinks £4 for lime and soda and £2.50 for cans. We wouldn’t go again as we didn’t feel it was worth it.

This beachside bar in a converted double decker bus has a great vibe, lively, great music and fantastic views. Had breakfast there several times, good bacon or sausage baps, ok coffee and very reasonable prices. Great in the evening too, very chilled atmosphere and decent wines….although the beers aren’t so good according to my husband. A real asset to gorgeous Southbourne beach. Long may it remain there!

Lunch in the sunshine sitting on the top deck. Lovely tuna melt panini and the Greek too! Frozen cocktails were delicious

My partner suggested we go to the SOBO beach 🏝️ after he’s finished work yesterday and I packed our dinner for a picnic 🧺 meal 🥘 The weather was lovely though we didn’t anticipate just how windy it was and we may have ingested some sand 😂 We had our backs against the wind 💨 but had to scoot after having our food as sand was blown up everywhere 🤦🏻‍♀️ We had a lovely chat and walk though 💛

We went for lunch on a Saturday, so it was busy and difficult to find seating in the shade. But we eventually did and it was a nice experience. The food was good, with vegetarian options and fast service despite being busy. If you take it for what it is - a more casual eating experience on the beach, it does not disappoint. It is a little expensive compared with the local pubs, but you are right on the beach, and the atmosphere is good. I believe the packaging and cutlery is all bio degradable so environmentally friendly.

What a shame. Honestly been so excited for months after seeing this place in various stories and photos. ONLY GO FOR DRINKS, don’t get my wrong it was a lovely place to drink and good atmosphere, just DO NOT eat there. Me and a friend had the same crappy dish (the chicken noodles - a simple Asian 5 spice dish). We’ll it was far from 5 spice noodles. It tasted tomatoey and so salty I had to drink beer after every mouthful. So anyway.. reluctantly finished it as was hungry and me and a mate felt like absolute rubbish after and I couldn’t drink any more beers as it ruined my stomach. Which then led to me going home early and ruining the night. The food was disgusting and extremely inconsistent. Won’t be coming back for either. When you’re charging £14 for a sh*tty small dish that tastes like a**, you might want to get the food right first.

Fantastic location and always great music. A little expensive but everything is these days. My only gripe is the coffee. There aren't many places who's coffee I can't drink, but it's truly awful! Asked for a double shot to see if it improved, didn't. Went...

Beach is lovely. Food is excellent and arrived very quickly, lots of variety for drinks and quick service. Great place to chill out or party. Can't wait to go back

The location is brilliant & the food was delicious! Quick service, hot food, I had the Greek Stack, it was one of the best tasting vegetarian lunches I’ve ever had, I look forward to my next trip for another one. Amazing!

Had a bacon bap and coffee here today in the sun at 11am eating a bacon bap with a cappuccino with great Caribbean music it was like being in Barbados!!

The breakfast menu here is great. Claire provided outstanding service and I would definitely recommend this place to people coming to southbourne.

Stopped for drinks and snacks and were impressed by the friendly efficient staff and varied menu. Great coffee and lovely setting on the beach . Even sun loungers out in October which were all being used . Will definitely be back
