Food - horrible Drinks ran out of most ordered one finally but came nothing like the picture to have kids sprinkles on top not a cherry. AwfulBad atmosphere 50% off pizza night they had nothing but gluten free bases with limited toppings and looked nothing like advertised looked like a £1 frozen pizza from Iceland at best. Disappointment. Shall not be returning anytime soon!!!!!!!

Nice building and nice cocktails but the staff were unbelievably rude making for a very unpleasant atmosphere.

I didn't bother visiting when it bothered to open due to the disgusting state of the outside seating and the generally run down look to it.

Terrible atmosphere. Mediocre cocktails. Decor needs an update. Out of most ingredients. Will not go back.

I really enjoyed hanging out at SoBar. We used to go regularly after work for drinks and the atmosphere was always nice (at least until we turned up!)

The So Bar is average. Measures are average, prices are maybe a little over average (£20 for 4 G&Ts?), Atmosphere was... well... average, neither dead nor exciting. Basically nothing to complain about, nothing to write home about. I did feel a little let down because again, it's somewhere that has been in BSE for quite a while and appears to be more than it is, that night anyway, I'm obviously not a regular.

Awful unfriendly service, we ordered mojito’s which were put in front us and we were told there were no straws... so all we could taste was ice and a mouth full of mint... terrible place!

The place looks inviting and the staff were initially friendly but lacked product knowledge. I went to the toilet and washed my hands afterwards but found the hand dryer to be faulty. After passing this information to the bar staff they told me that it had been faulty for ages. I would not return to this place until that was repaired.

An okay bar for Bury Saint Edmunds - slightly pricey, but open at decent times and in an okay location.

Nice simple cocktails! One of our regulars on a night out! Not too expensive, we always try to get there at happy hours! Really cool design through out, even toilets done in some medieval style!

Popped in for a glass of wine on a Saturday afternoon Was interesting to watch the young barman break a sweat opening the bottle. Had it been a real cork our glass would have been full of it. Some training needed there, not his fault The bar is ok but there is little to no atmosphere Toilets stink of urine and need work, they're in the cellar which has challenges I don't doubt but cleanliness shouldn't be one of them All a bit cobbled together, guessing it does well enough in the evenings that no one notices but in the cold light of day it's betrayed by the lack of punters With so much choice in Bury I'll be looking elsewhere Not terrible but below average for sure

I popped in here on a quiet Sunday for a cocktail whilst visiting Bury. I was under the impression that it was a classy and trendy cocktail lounge, but I was rather disappointed with what I found. It certainly looks like it is a really cool spot; the seating, the lighting, the music, and the overall ambiance are lovely. The cocktails though - that's a different story. The cocktail list is short and unimaginative. It looks more like it was developed by teenagers than by cocktail connoisseurs. I ordered a cosmo, a rather standard drink. It was extremely sweet, and the taste of sugar overpowered the taste of vodka. I left when I finished it, rather than risk buying another saccharine libation. This is the kind of place that could be much better if the owners/bartenders had more imagination and ambition. Develop a cocktail list with unique and locally-inspired drinks, and include a more diverse range of liquors. Give us something worth coming back for!

As we like to support local independant business we thought lets give the So Bar a try! After buying a glass of wine, which I never got to drink as the table was wonky and the glass toppled over and smashed the uninterested bar man swept the glass up whilst I said it was my fault, sorry in true english style, didnt seem interested in any conversation or to ask would I like another? so we got up and left after a couple of minutes. Never met anybody so disinterested in his job. Shame but a business is only as good as the staff.

potencialmente un bar rompía pero no sabes lo que es realmente. La identificación no funciona muy bien. La selección de cervezas bien, en especial si quieres lager y sidras pero un poco caro.

Popped in for a cup of tea/coffee during the Christmas fayre around 11. Ordered 2 teas and a coffee and was told there would be a bit of a wait on hot drinks. 20 minutes later asked where our drinks were to be told they had a run out of milk. 45 minutes after ordering still no drinks so we decided to leave. Given refund but no real apology except 'we're a cocktail bar so are not normally this busy.' It was the busiest day of the fayre, what were they expecting? At no point did anyone come to the table to apologise nor explain the long wait. In my opinion waiting 45 minutes for a cup of tea is appalling.

On reading the other reviews I was concerned when it was suggested on going here. However I was pleasantly surprised; it was a clean nice environment! With clean stylish toilets, cocktails were well priced and the staff were friendly! I will definitely be recommending this bar! A hidden gem!

The worst (thinnest) cappuccinos I have ever had, one Earl Grey that did not taste of anything much, one green tea that was bitter, two hot chocolates that were nice. For this, we waited about 10 to 15 minutes - but to be fair, I think the waiter was by himself so had to do everything. It was not busy, though.

Sunny Saturday afternoon and a quiet street in Bury with some sofas out there looked nice. On closer inspection the table tops where covered in molten cigarette traces on very wonky legs. Ordered a couple of cappucinos and some teas at the bar and waited out side, and waited ...Eventually things arrived. Earl Grey tea was only very faintly recognisable as Earl Grey but that might just have been the brand they are using. The cappuccinos though did not seem to have seen a coffee bean for miles and the milk froth resembled in texture the bubble in a foam bath - nothing milky or even creamy. Even two sugars did not make an improvement. One the positive side, some more original toilet doors.

I was under the impression this was a cocktail bar, I have been proven very wrong! When I asked for a margharita I was met with a stern we don't serve them, even though I could clearly see at least four tequilas on the shelve behind the barmaid! This is a terrible shame, Bury doesn't have an abundance of cocktail bars, and unless your chosen 'poison' is on their menu you won't be getting any joy, they're certainly not prepared to learn or make your request!

Popped in for a cocktail with a girlfriend celebrating her birthday. We were served a decidedly uninspiring Mojito by a miserable mono syllabic barman for who it was clearly far too much trouble to enter into conversation or heaven forbid, wish my friend a 'happy birthday'.And before anyone thinks maybe he was busy and was just a little 'hurried', I should add this was a Thursday evening and there were maybe 10 people in the place.Don't bother wasting your money here, there are numerous far more friendly places serving superior cocktails in the town.

I read about SoBar in one of the local magazines that was in our hotel room. We popped in about 6:15 ish during happy "hour" (which is actually about 4 hours, result!). We ordered a pint & got a free half & buy one cocktail get another for £1! Great value, we liked it so much we went back after our meal.

Popped in for lunch, and found the Moroccan themed snug! Perfect for chillaxing with friends and catching up over a drink. The lunch menu isn't huge but the sandwiches are!!!! I had the cheese, lettuce, tomato & chutney sandwich that came with colslaw (I'd guess not homemade) & tortilla chips. Yum!!! I will definately be back....maybe even after dark!!

We just went today with my wife and a couple of friends.. We were just half an hour for a nice beer... in april the 2nd, at 7 pm.we accidentally left our bag with documents (wallet included). No one else was in the bar, except the barman. A few minutes later we went to get it back, the barman had taken it. He recognize us and imidiately and gently gave us back the documents, but.... when I checked the wallet, there were 20 pounds less...By the moment we realized that he took of that money (because when he gave us back he said that he took the bag), we didn't feel that bad because of the money, because we got back our passports... but... still, he took the money and that's not a good thing to say about the bar....As a tourist I can say that (just in case) we will never go back to this bar, because taking money from someone else it's the same thing as using a gun.

Been looking for So Bar on here & can't seem to find it?! Maybe because food is served only during the day I think.A fantastic place for lunch, the quality is really very good & the surroundings very cool. Open at night too where it gets very busy at weekends, I'd say the average age is mid 20's. I eat here most weeks at lunchtime with work colleagues & its always top drawer.Mixed cliental during the day I'd say from youngsters through to a lady who I often see there who must be in her 90's!
