Soaltee in Spelthorne

We went there on a Wednesday evening to have the banquet four course meal. All of the courses were absolutely delicious.

Excellent food and great portions sizes. The owners are really lovely and have made it a wonderful local restaurant.

Booked a private party for my wife's special birthday, and we cannot praise the team highly enough, everything was perfect. 16 diners all satisfied so much so that they will all be returning very soon.

So, now the Soaltee is the only place I order our take aways from. The chicken tikka is excellent, with tender well cooked chicken and the saag paneer I like because it is still quite liquid and not at all stodgy. It works well with the rice. Last night I ordered the onion bhaji for the first time and they were perfect. Friendly team and good food - what’s not to like? I think we’ll try a “dine in” next time because the atmosphere seems good for a small restaurant.

I read good reviews so we ordered mixed grill (10), chicken Korma (5) and B iriyani (5). Disappo inted.

Great food with tasty dishes, portion sizes could be a little larger, service was very good welcoming, friendly and attentive.

I've been to the Soaltee a couple of times in the last two weeks. I didn't dine in but I collected my takeaways from the restaurant. Firstly, I should say that the restaurant is busy and all the diners looked really happy. The owner and staff were very friendly and professional, but not creepy as is sometimes the case. On the first occasion, I'd ordered the Samundari Parikar seafood curry and I was disappointed. It was quite expensive, but the only sealife that I could find were prawns - a good portion of prawns but I'm not a fan and it wasn't what I was expecting. I'd had an excellent fish curry elsewhere that week and I thought that perhaps I'd just ordered the wrong dish. My wife had a Chicken Korma, rice and sag paneer that was fine. Last night they were busy again. I'd ordered chicken tikka, rices and sag paneer for two. We really enjoyed our food, it was excellent and I'm really looking forward to coming back next week. Shout out to the lady who took my cash. I gave her £60 instead of £30 and she quickly told me I'd messed up and gave me my money back. Thank you Soaltee.

Really enjoyed our dinner here. Enjoyed the Chicken Shashlik, Lamb Jalfrezi and Sag Paneer. Friendly staff too. Would definitely visit again!

Small portions …literally 4 pieces of chicken in a Madras Curry Nans were like filo pastry and really small.. Ordered a Keema rice ..No lamb and enough rice to feed a child Went with 7 people on a birthday experience and what a huge disappointment…. And totally ripped off

First time here and everything was perfect!!! Rupa looked after so well will definitely be back. Tried a new dish too and loved it!

Had a lovely meal in Soeltees last night! Even though they were very busy they still managed to fit us in without having prebooked. Food was lovely and came in good time even though they were busy. A bunch of middle aged male degenerates spoiled things somewhat for other guests with their various swearing, shouting etc but sadly some people appear to be ‘dragged up’ rather brought up these days. Aside from that another lovely visit there!

Great staff such as Bibita and Ujjwal, and good vibes. the hotel is beautiful and lots of scenery to explore. Good service

Although I have a couple of issues we will return. My issues are wine list could be better with some 13-14% red wines on the list, the banoffe cake was tasteless. Having said that the poppadoms were good with lovely relish and sauces followed by very tasty starters, the moment is certainly a must along with samosas and onion bhaji, the curries were superb as well as the naan breads. They were busy so the service was pushed to its limit but I thought they coped well and it was understandable it slowed a bit but not too badly, all the staff were extremely friendly and we got complimentary aperitifs which was a nice touch. We will be visiting again and probably order delivery as well cos its all yummy 😋.

We had the banquet menu,saw it advertised outside but i did have to ask for it as waiter only gave us regular menu Banquet menu available only on WED and SUN,great value,food is fantastic. We visited the Soaltee for the first time yesterday evening (3.1.21). Superb service, friendly and helpful. The food was first rate with some unusual items on the menu. Portion size was just right and all at a reasonable price. We will visit again. Highley recommended.

I ate here with some friends. It was my first time eating here, and we were all pleasantly surprised. The service was friendly, and the staff seemed keen to help. Food was excellent, and we all enjoyed our dishes. I’d happily eat here again.

First visit to Soaltee, having had take out during lockdown. First impression was it was rather busy considering we are in covid-19 restrictions, maybe this contributed to the slow service as there was little evidence of restrictions. The food was good and the staff attentive.

... and this silver lining was that Soaltee had reopened for dining-in. Yesterday evening we had a delicious supper and everything had been put in place in line with C19 regulations. We have had some great take- aways during lock down but dining in is always that bit extra nice, plus there is no washing-up.

Two takeaway meals from Soaltee last week. It’s been a while since I’ve used this restaurant and our meals reminded us that we should use it more often. The staff were friendly, the place was really busy with diners and our food was excellent. I shall be back.

We decided to go for a meal and by chance ended up here on a Sunday evening when it had its special offer £9.95 menu, we had been here once before so knew the food was good, the addition of the special menu on Sundays and Wednesdays was a bonus. The place is spotless the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is amazing. We visit a couple of times a month now and the food is always good. We have also had take out which was delivered quickly was hot and as always delicious. This place is a gem, and in a crowded market like Ashford it stands out as being the best by far.Would highly recommend, have been as a couple and with friends and family and never disappointed.

Yet another enjoyable meal in Soaltee.It’s been open over a year now and we’ve become regulars.Food is always good, freshly cooked , generous portions and overall good value. Can highly recommended the Saag Paneer, the best Ive tasted.Staff are very friendly, and the offer of an “on the house” post dinner liqueur is always appreciated.Overall, a lovely friendly addition to the many choice of restaurants in Ashford, but this has to be my favourite.

Ordered a chicken dansak expecting the usual sweet and spicy flavour and instead I got a bland curry which tasted of nothing. Highly disappointing.

Went to try the "Banqueting Night" but on arrival there was no information and the waiter didn't know what we could order either ! It turned out it wasn't 4 courses for £9.95 just 4 ITEMS, with no choice of starter ( a set basic platter). The main courses were all from the basic limited range . We dicided not to bother so ordered from the usual menu.The 2 main courses, although described differently, came with the same sauce which may well have been a ready -made jar from a local whole-saler .The rice, nan and Dhal were ok to be fair. The place was clean and attractive but the food and lack of menu clarity were a huge disappointment. Won't be rushing back there.

A group of us have eaten here a couple of times now and the food is really tasty and full of flavour. Staff are very friendly and the beer nice and chilled. Complementary drinks on the house offered when paying the bill. Definitely going back. Everyone happy

Had my usual chicken pathia which was delicious perfect amount of sweetness and spice. My mum tried the rara chicken which she loved. Staff are always very friendly and attentive. They coped well for a busy Thursday night. We’ll definitely be back!

Had ordered home delivery and it arrived bang on time via Uber eats, the food was surely hot. Chicken and veg momos were good. Had momos after a long time and the sauce with the momos was just fine. Would have loved to have spicy sauce as it comes with Momos. Am a fan of Nepali food and this was a very first time I ordered and it did surprise me. Chilli paneer was very oily and paneer was a bit hard. Would have liked less oil and soft paneer which I guess is a a trick which not all master. Overall it was good food.

Last night had the most delicious Nepalese takeaway... delivered within 40 mins , steaming hot and very very delicious... we haven't had curry in a long time and this met everyone's expectations and more. Thanks

The Soaltee Restaurant prides itself as a Nepalese restaurant. It is a nice restaurant.

This was our first and last time of trying Soaltee. It was difficult to place the order as the phone line was terrible and they could not get our postcode right. The food was luke warm and although my chicken was excellent the Dhansak was very bland and no spice. The chicken tikka masala was also bland and more like a buttered chicken sauce. The lamb Phathia again bland. Such a shame as we like the look of the new restaurant but sadly will not be visiting

First time to Soaltee and wasn’t disappointed. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Had poppadoms which came with mango chutney, the minty flavoured yoghurt and I think a tomato chutney. For mains we had chicken pathia, chicken tikka and Bombay aloo. Would have liked the pathia to be slightly spicier but it was still delicious. Very decently priced and we were offered two free baileys.

I bought take away meals for three from Soaltee this evening. We couldn’t fault anything. All our meals and the associated rice and nan breads were really good and my Soaltee Chicken was particularly good and everything tasted freshly prepared

Quiet mid-week visit on a cold January evening. Excellent food at a good price. Service couldn't be faulted. After we left the manager even ran 100 yds after us to return my hat, which I'd inadvertently left behind. . . . . in his shirtsleeves, on a very cold night! That's what I call service! As a relatively new restaurant, they deserve to do well!

Restaurant very quiet, mid-week/1st week in January! Food could not be faulted. Very tasty, hot and plenty of it. We will definitely be returning soon.

Very good food and quality ingredients (tender lamb). Lovely people but clearly new to the restaurant game as service was truly dreadful. Hopefully they can improve with experience. Worth a try for sure.
