Unfortunately our experience was not a good one. We were a party of 6, we couldn't prebook a table. Two of turned up and asked for a table of 6, we were told that we could not be seated until the rest of the party had arrived, even though the others were on there way.. The lady who spoke to us was very rude, and off hand, not really what we expected. We ordered coffee with hot milk, milk was lukewarm, it wasnt even busy, to be honest non of us would return to this place. We will choose somewhere that cares about its customers.

Staff looked bored and menu was shockingly boring. The staff didn’t seem to understand the most basics of service- not asking if we wanted to order etc and when clearing the table putting another customers half eaten food down in front of me on top of my plate. Quite telling that we couldn’t get a table at the two other cafes around the corner but walked straight in here.

Nice place to sit outside on a warm day. Very basic menu. Quiche is ok and served with crisps and salad. Staff are not enthusiastic and never smile. They come across as quite rude. A bit of customer service training wouldn't go amiss.

I have been dining at the Snowgoose for over 10 years, and I have always been delighted with the service and food. But of late it has not been up to scratch. On Sunday as a party of four called in for coffee and a scone. The staff were not particularly welcoming, no eye contact, smile or words of welcome, just straight to the point can I get you.Our drinks were brought to the table separately, and the scones were brought a few minutes later, everyone was at different stages of drinking and eating. The sad thing is the coffee and scones are very good.Come on Snowgoose you can do better than this.

We visit this little cafe fairly regularly, and despite increased competition in the locality, it still seems to be holding its own.The only aspect that possibly needs review is the somewhat limited menu. Don’t get me wrong, this place doesn’t pretend to be anything more than a cafe, but not to offer something as a baked potatoe is a bit of an own goal.Having said that, the food that they do offer is pretty good (the cherry and marzipan scones are lovely), the location is spot on, and the service is always faultless. We’ll certainly continue to call as we walk along as we walk the front.

I have been here many times, the coffee is nice, but I feel the menu is limited, and with the numerous coffee shops in the area now I feel the snow goose needs to up its game, the plus side is the outside area in the nicer weather.

We recently arrived as a couple and sat outside, but no one came to the table so we went inside. We sat there a while and again no one came to serve us. One member of staff was chatting to customers at a table. Another was standing near us, but on her mobile phone. We decided to leave and noticed other members of staff standing talking in the entrance of the kitchen area. We won't be going back.

We like this place and have been loads but today was not one of our best visits, as usual it was very busy because it is usually very good, when we arrived the staff were running around like crazy, but two staff passed us and neither of them looked at us or even said hello, again this is rare but I never allow anywhere an excuse for not welcoming customers ever, this continued with every customer that came in, we looked at the menu and decided on Welsh rare bit which was on the specials board, it was £4.25 when it arrived I thought this was a joke, it was one yes one slice of toast with cheese on it and a tiny bit of salad and a couple of crisps, I was very disappointed, when the waitress took the plates away she said could she get us anything else, I said yes could you bring the rest of the meal, she looked at me and walked away, then when I paid the bill, another waiter was said I thought it was small when I brought it to you, they do cheaper sandwiches with 2 slices of bread, all in all a very disappointing visit on a beautiful day

Myself and my daughter often go to the snowgoose. However I feel the novelty is wearing off. The side salad is a joke! Why bother really? The filling in my hot pitta was less than filling a rubbery piece of bacon and where was the cheese? Also we had just finished and the table was cleared very quickly. Then we were asked 3 times by 3 different staff if we wanted anything else they obviously wanted us to leave ?? Whats happened to the place? Will consider trying other coffee shop in future.

It would have been nice to be able to sit outside on a glorious sunny day but, unfortunately, the tables immediately outside were all full and we were told we couldn't sit at the tables on the lovely terrace because they didn't have enough staff. This is surely a problem for the management but shouldn't be a problem for the customers who are looking to spend their money there. We went elsewhere and had nicer scones so we were quite happy, but is this any way to treat customers?

I went in as I had passed the cafe. My 3year old son needed the toilet. The middle aged woman serving said angrily to me.,'what are you doing' I said my son who is 3 is desperate for the toilet. She said are you a customer. I said I will be but son needs the toilet. She was very angry about this. Later my partner went there. She called me to meet there. I got there and she had ordered a scone and 2tap waters. When my partner went to pay she was told she had 2 pay 1.20 for ice and a bit of lemon in the tapwater! The scone was terrible too. We refused to pay. My partner told the person working there about being told off for our 3yr old needing the toilet. We said we won't go back. Don't go. It'd snobbish, stuffy and overpriced. We live locally in roker and we are both professional people. So please don't visit this place. There are loads of lovely cafes on sea road, bungalow cafe and sues place.

Called in with three friends for a light snack. Service initially was polite and friendly. I ordered a cheese and onion (brown bread toastie). This was vey bland, cool to the touch and was a bit too crispy edges. My other friends had a toasted cheese scone each. One was fozen solid right throughout. This was taken away and another returned about ten minutes later! I had assumed that scones would be fresh every day - wrong! They didnt bat an eye lid and weren't bothered at all. We asked a lady who was using the coffee machine what time it closed, to which she replied 'I dont know, I dont work here'! At 4.30 it started to empty and we asked a different lady the closing time and it we could sit outside, in the sunshine. We were told that it closed at 5pm and yes we could sit outside but we couldn't have anything else as the machines were being switched off (at 4.30 - can you believe?).

Unfortunately the bar service here has deteriorated massively. It must be costing the company a fortune. Had my friends not already ordered I would have left. Behind the bar were a number of staff but only 2 were serving customers at the bar. The remaining staff were all working at the bottom of the bar dealing with app orders. It's a very long bar and with only 2 staff working it they did not know who was next. People would walk up to the bar long after you'd stood there , and be served. I would have used the app myself but couldn't get a signal in the bar. Unfortunately the 2 staff serving were also extremely slow, despite there not being much of a queue. We waited ages to get served when there wasn't many people waiting, so on a busy night I wouldn't even bother. If you don't have the app or it's not working properly I'd give this bar a miss. It looked like a lot of other people felt the same as this once busy bar was noticeably quiet for a weekend night. Whoever is in charge of the bar needs to sort out proper training for the staff. I've never experienced service as bad as this in any other wetherspoons I've been in. If at all possible, use the app or you'll lose the will, watching other customers stroll to the bar while you wait, wait then wait some more
