Service was poor unfortunately at Gindon Broadway lack luster to say the least . Bought cakes and one that was offered to me had been put in bag for some previous customer ...not good....cakes would have been put on top of my hot take out dish if I hadn't noticed . Disappointed

Went to Costa Gerrard's Cross and ordered a bacon and brie panini. Oh dear, it was a case of hunt-the- filling! Lots of bread but a tiny piece of bacon and brie....abysmal. Needless to say, I won't be going back....no excuse for this! 😂

We are very often in costa coffee inside Debenhams store in Sunderland. It is a very busy franchise and thankfully with regular staff. For my husband and myself it is the brilliant staff that makes all the difference to this branch of costa as whichever branch you visit the food and drinks are all the same but the lovely staff in this one make it stand out for us. We are always given a warm welcome and a little banter no matter how busy they are. Table are emptied and cleaned down very quickly and like I have said they always have a welcoming smile. If costa gave out staff awards these lovely people would deserve to receive them and we would definitely give them our vote. Thank you for everything.

Sorry to mention the word 'panini' again. I popped in today for my usual latte and tomato and mozzarella panini.I sat down with my coffee and browsed the paper. After what must have been 10 to 15 mins I spotted Damian...I said "have you forgotten my panini"? A poor excuse of a panini duly arrived..the poor thing must have been fretting away as it was left to cool down so the best thing I could do was to put it out of it's misery.Down the hatch it went.Yes I should have sent it back but sometimes I like to take a step back and feel the full force of unbelievably bad customer service.

We may have visited on an off day but the service was very slow, the tables were cluttered with uncleared cups, plates and packaging. I cleared the table myself and got such a look when I asked for a cloth from a member of staff to wipe the table. When I gave the member of staff the tray and cloth back she snatched it out of my hands and tutted! However, the coffee was just what we needed so we took it on the chin.

I was so impressed with the staff here, I went on a busy Saturday afternoon and they were completely rushed off their feet, but everyone was so friendly and helpful - the staff member cleaning the tables even made the effort to smile at every customer! Very impressive service. The cappuccino I ordered was tasty and hot, although the queue and waiting time was quite long

I remember a while back going into a Costa in Sunderland and asking if they stocked the tomato and mozzarella panini. The young girl said they weren't in stock due to the time of year.So funny and totally rubbish.I have moved house and I was looking forward to making the Costa in Houghton my local eaterie. However I have visited twice and on both occasions no tomato and mozzarella panini to be found. The first time I asked I was told that with it being just after New Year they weren't in yet..something like that if I remember correctly.Today I was told that they had sold out.I have rang Costa HQ to check .If they don't stock them then they should be upfront and say so or if they do then please order more.I'll try once more.Their body language each time I've asked has been one of complete disinterest probably due to the annoyed look on my face!

A welcome addition to Houghton, I noted someone else thought it was small but I was taken aback as its size forgetting it had been the Robbie Burns pub .i would definitely recommend the Black Forest hot choclate delicious.

I am a fan of Costa outlets and this one did not disappoint, The coffee was very good, of the standard you expect in Costa and the muffin was fresh. I just wish this chain sold 'skinny muffins' as they all have many calories (though this is clearly a general point and not specific to Sunderland). The range of foods is the same as any other coffee chain of its kind - sandwiches, cakes, muffins etc. Service was friendly and fast. The shop was clean and I would definitely come back here.

There isn't too much negative about here, but it is small and sometimes you can be lucky with getting a table on a Saturday or you can wait a very long time. We did go recently and the food was very bland and had no taste at all, but this was the first time this has happened. Staff are polite and friendly.

Firstly, I'm referring to the Costa in the shopping area on the 1231. Coffee is great as expected but the cakes and sandwiches added to the order can result in a costly visit, especially when you are also feeding two children. The choice is OK but when there is a Gregg's right next door then you are tempted to eat elsewhere!! I was concerned with the cleanliness the coffee making machine which looked as though it'd had a really busy day without a break!

Often come here with two of my children for a hot chocolate and a cake before we start shopping. Have to say I've always found staff to be friendly and helpful. Cakes are always lovely but if you aren't happy then they will either replace or give you your money back. It's nice and quiet here compared to other coffee shops in the town centre. Always enjoyable.

Visited Costa coffee in water stones book store , quite a cosy environment however very tired and noticed lots of dirty tables straight away. Ordered coffee and a caramel slice each, took a long time to be served only one member of staff ànd was three ppl waiting in front of me to be served. Eventually sat down still no tables cleared at this point so had to clear my own. Nice coffee caramel slice tasted stail had to leave it. Noticed another que at counter then another member of staff appeared only to see the first one the manager disappear on apparently a break still no tables clear. Found experience exasperating as a pose to relaxing will not be returning. Suggest a make over to the shop and the staff who were there.

Unfortunately the bar service here has deteriorated massively. It must be costing the company a fortune. Had my friends not already ordered I would have left. Behind the bar were a number of staff but only 2 were serving customers at the bar. The remaining staff were all working at the bottom of the bar dealing with app orders. It's a very long bar and with only 2 staff working it they did not know who was next. People would walk up to the bar long after you'd stood there , and be served. I would have used the app myself but couldn't get a signal in the bar. Unfortunately the 2 staff serving were also extremely slow, despite there not being much of a queue. We waited ages to get served when there wasn't many people waiting, so on a busy night I wouldn't even bother. If you don't have the app or it's not working properly I'd give this bar a miss. It looked like a lot of other people felt the same as this once busy bar was noticeably quiet for a weekend night. Whoever is in charge of the bar needs to sort out proper training for the staff. I've never experienced service as bad as this in any other wetherspoons I've been in. If at all possible, use the app or you'll lose the will, watching other customers stroll to the bar while you wait, wait then wait some more

This was a first time order for a special anniversary. We were meant to be going out but I wasn't feeling too good (I have Fibromyalgia) so we decided to order a posh meal instead of the usual takeaway fare. The Bruschetta starter tasted strongly of basil and had melted cheese overpowering the tomatoes. I have never had Bruschetta cooked like that and I've eaten in many Italian restaurants including real ones in Venice and Rome. It's usually small diced tomatoes mixed with diced red onion, extra virgin olice oil and basil. Sometimes there will be a little drizzle of balsamic. I couldn't even detect the garlic rubbed on the bread. The tomato was whacking great chunks which had turned to mush under the huge smothering of cheese. The salad garnish was nice at least. My husband enjoyed his Smothered Potato Skins but did comment on the very large portion! Not a bad thing, I know lol. The mains - My steak was cooked to perfection (not lean though, as promised on the menu - I cut off quite a chunk of gristly fat) and the chips were to die for. However, the Diane sauce just tasted of cream - the mushrooms had no flavour and there was absolutely no hint of Brandy at all. It was very disappointing. My husband didn't enjoy his Chicken Parmo as he felt that there was far too much cheese and that's all he could taste. The Sticky Toffee puddings were amazing though - generous and moist with a lovely toffee soaked airy texture. The portion of cream that accompanied mine was laughable, however. It was the size of a dip pot and quickly soaked into the pudding so was undetectable anyway. I had to add ice cream from my own freezer to enjoy it. My hubby had custard with his - wish I'd had the same. Service was good and on time, everything was packed well and portions were very generous (apart from the cream, lol!) Based on everything not having much flavour though, and the weird starter, I don't think I'd order again. It's a real shame as it did put a dampener on what should have been a perfect evening. I really wished we'd gone out instead.

Called in for a couple of drinks as our cruise ship was alongside in Scrabster. Really quaint bar, lovely pint of Belhaven Best and my wife enjoyed her pino grigio. Two really pleasant young women behind the bar and friendly locals. 100% recomend this bar if you are in town. Thanks for making us feel welcome.

Very slow. If you're need a drink quickly, don't come here. I would rather have the coffee sooner and have no pretty pattern
