This spot is nothing special but is fab for a post late night, still drunk breakfast. Able to accommodate individuals and larger groups.

Best Breakfast in Edinburgh Loved this cafe. Really friendly staff. Super fast service. Had the veggie breakfast. Every item of the breakfast was piping hot. It was delicious . Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you.

Good value for money compared to most of what can be found around George Square, though the food is mediocre. Also a comfy place to read a book or study when all the decent spaces around campus are full. The staff are kinda awkward, but in a way that I consider more endearing than irritating.

Terrible experience. Rude, cheeky staff. Exceptionally rude manager/owner with an attitude problem. Very slow service to put it mildly. Staff too busy talking to each other about Christmas to bother paying attention to customers. Save your money, go elsewhere!!!

I wanted a quick take out , a bacon roll , after 15 minutes waiting I gave up. Slow doesn't describe the hopeless staff. They all looked half asleep. There were many delivery service drivers popping in and out and none of them had to wait so I guess that is now the priority for Snax and not the customers in the shop.

We visited Snax Cafe while visiting Edinburgh and it was pure brilliant. They had such a selection of all Scottish delicacies. We had 2 x Square Sausages in a roll wi a fried egg, it was amazing wi a cup a tea . The menu was great they have all the bases covered. Despite being very busy they continue to rattle out the orders. You must visit this is truly exceptional .

Slow slow slow very. Very slow. I ordered a bacon roll to go and had to wait so long I ga e up and went elsewhere. This is twice now so I am never going. Ack. The many staff all looked half asleep and others waiting where also asking where their food was. I think Snax is giving priority to online orders and forgetting people in the cafe. The last time I did eat here the bacon was almost raw. Awful place.

I asked for a bacon roll to take away and it came reasonably quickly but upon trying to eat it it became obvious why - half cooked bacon that was tough as old boots, no butter / margarine, a roll that must have been days old (certainly not fresh) and they have the nerve to charge nearly £3 (Greggs round the corner charges £2 and much better bacon roll than this place). What a rip off.

Had been working in Edinburgh one Sunday morning, and was in need of some breakfast, so pulled up google to see what was in the area, and noticed Snax Cafe was near by. I had heard this name through word of mouth, but never found myself in the area of Edinburgh to actually visit it. It was very close so went along. For 10am on a Sunday morning, the line to get served was all the way out into the street. Staff are very fast to take your order, so I went for their breakfast wrap (square sausage, bacon, egg and cheese) and a latte. Freshly prepared, and while did take a little while to be ready, was more than worth the wait. Very much going out of your way to visit for a good breakfast.

Regular here as it is your basic cafe with great food at an affordable price The portions are pretty big and the staff are lovely. It’s a proper workies cafe, with proper good grub. Always visit with friends/partner/family as much as I can.

A proper cafe - cheap and a good selection of breakfasts and sarnies. Family’s, workmen and travellers as well as locals all seemed to be enjoying this cafe. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Veggie and vegan options available. Plus a good cuppa tea! You can’t beat a good ol’ greasey spoon!

Nice little cafe, tucked away just next to Edinburgh’s main tourist’s attractions. We had the biggest breakfast, which was huge and delicious, and an excellent value for money. The only issue was the temperature, as since it was served on a cold plate, and it was also quite cold inside the cafe, the food arrived tepid and got completely cold pretty quick. That’s the only reason for reducing one star. Coffee was really lovely and hot, though. Overall, I would definitely recommend.

Visited recently, with friends, all medically exempt from mask wearing. Manageress as she called herself rudely stood at the door, arms folded and told us we could not go in and her words regarding the exemption was ‘ I don’t care.’ I guess they are unaware of the disability act of 2010 where they are liable to prosecution for discrimination. Terrible attitude, no customer service skills . On the upside we spent our money elsewhere keeping small business afloat.

Great wee cafe with delicious food and great service. Really good arrangements in place for covid too. We took a detour from walking around Holyrood Park and it was well worth it to get some good food & clean toilet!!! We will definitely be back.

Great value grub. Mac cheese is a winner. Good coffee and good service even when busy. A student café and for savvy consumers. Been going for years. A simple format that works.

A few hot bacon and egg breakfast rolls went down an absolute treat! If you’re looking for relatively inexpensive eats near the UoE then this is your place. Looks like they also serve great breakfasts!

Vast array of food and drink to choose from. Can be a bit slow sometimes. Staff who took our order had difficulty in memorising who ordered what, ended asking who ordered a simple tea, not impressed.

It was a terrible decision to eat here. Several places were packed, we were all hungry, and this place had available seating. Should have been our first clue! My daughter-in-law ordered a Caesar salad with chicken....chicken was dry and no cheese. She asked for cheese and after 10 minutes the waited came back and said, "We ran out of cheese yesterday." I ordered the pizza, no words can describe how bad it was. My husband ordered the nachos. Talk about stale, oil soaked, gross food. My granddaughter ordered the club without bacon. Guess who got bacon? Our son ordered the Cajun wrap and he said it was good. All in all, not a place I would ever recommend.

I had a great afternoon tea with my mum here! The staff were lovely and the food was delicious. They were great at catering to dietary requirements as I am coeliac so my afternoon tea was completely gluten free (the afternoon tea on the right in the picture is mine). Would highly recommend this place!

The burgers were a little too fatty and way too big to eat comfortably. You need a how to manual to be able to eat it without mess
