Smugglers Restaurant in Chichester

Nice food, good selection of drinks Tammy and harry were fantastic with service and keeping the kids entertained, would recomemd to any one visiting the resort.

Such a shame this once lovely spot it now not very friendly with a rude manageress. No longer aloud to eat on the veranda where it used to be a wonderful sociable area, to grab something to eat and parents could watch their children in the softplay. This was always our go to place as our autistic son could enjoy something to eat on the veranda whilst watching the sea, where it was quieter to sit and more comfortable than the indoor restaurant. We always come here for this very reason. The manger was not accommodating to a child with disabilities, actually shrugged her shoulders and walked off! which I find disgusting personally, as she made it impossible for us to have something to eat. Very unwelcoming. The veranda apparently isn’t used for eating anymore since this season,yet the floors were sticky and dirty and look like they haven’t been cleaned since last season and flies buzzing around the dirt is grim! Would avoid.

Pleased from start to finish. The warm welcome from Lily, excellent service from Tammy. Friendly, polite and made us feel very welcome. Then to top off the meal, which we all enjoyed was served by a lovely lad Harry who made a great effort as well as the others to provide such a great warm service so Thank you to you all and we will return. Clean, friendly, nice meals and service with a smile. We didn’t book a reservation.

Family of 5, 2 adults 3 children the youngest (3years) a very fussy eater. He chose the kids vegan spaghetti and meatballs, I asked the server if I could the meatballs broken up so it looked more like a spagbol, nothing was too much trouble. It all came out hot, exactly what we ordered, meatballs broken up, burgers were delicious, extras for the table came with the meals like we asked. Hubby had the mixed grill and said it was the nicest one he has had in a while. Absolutely delicious and service was excellent with a smile from all of them. And the view outside was exceptional! Thank you for a lovely meal and atmosphere.

We visited smugglers on a sunday evening as a group of 3 adults and 5 children we hadn't booked so were told we had to wait 40 minutes for a table. We thought no problem we will have drinks and chill. We noticed 2 tables of 4 were free whilst we waited for drinks so we asked if we could just sit there as 1 of our party is diabetic and another has autism and adhd so we just wanted to speed up the process a bit. However we were told they were already taken, so we waited the 40 minutes with our drinks then were shown to our table. The waitress came to take our food order with about half of us wanting roasts as the menu is very limited on sundays we didnt have much choice. About another 30+ minutes later she came back to tell us that they had run out of roasts altogether and couldnt fulfil our order!!!? After waiting a full 1.5 hours at 7.30pm!!! For food We spoke to the table next to us who had booked a table for 6pm only to receive their food at 8pm after many complaints and said it was not worth the wait!! My advice would be eat off site as some lovely places in Selsey

We stayed at seal bay for a weekend at the end of June and dined twice at the Smugglers restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised with the choice of vegetarian options. Heather was our waitress on our first night (28th) and she was brilliant! Friendly and very knowledgable about the resort. She went above and beyond to answer our questions.

Booked a table for the family today and turned up on time and shown to a nice circular table in a corner . We chose and ordered the starters arrived ok along with the children’s meals which kept them occupied. Once those were finished we waited for the mains , some 60+ mins later they finally came , the half a chicken was ok , the roast beef was a let down . It seemed to be pre sliced and not off a joint as I know it , really disappointed and wouldn’t recommend to any one . I complained at the till and they didn’t seem to care so if it wasn’t for the grandkids I would no be going back . It’s just my experience but having spoken to another couple they said it’s gone downhill and not like it was, it’s a pity as there’s plenty to keep children occupied on site . Sorry won’t be going back . ☹️

Stopped here for a Sunday roast on 17th March. Tammy is an amazing host and her team are just as fab. Pulled out all the stops to make us feel comfortable and for a birthday celebration. All the team are very friendly, always happy and smiling. Looking forward to coming back!!!! Thank you for your lovely service.

Wow absolutely fantastic service excellent food nothing too much trouble was a very large family group of 19 didn’t even think we would get a table ate in the waiting area which was ideal as we had some young children with us and we were worried about disturbing other diners our waitresses ensured our food would all be served together and continuously checked to make sure we had everything we needed we had various dishes including a vegan one and everyone really enjoyed their choice Thank you for a superb evening

Had a beautiful steak and chips served by a lovely scouse bloke called Al he was very friendly and outgoing recommended a few drinks and food to the family, would definitely recommend to others it’s a wonderful holiday resort for all will be booking again 😄

Had a wonderful lunch here at smugglers I don’t normally do reviews but felt this really needed one, there was a lovely man Alan and a lady called grace I think both where very good workers but I have to say Alan and r above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, my autistic daughter really struggled with the menu and choices alan really made her feel at ease and was just generally a well presented polite and professional man who has very high standards with the guest, this whole Resort is beautiful and had amazing views and plenty to do for all the family Of all Ages we have rebooked for next half time next year 😊 thank you

Had a lovely evening meal. We all had steak which was of good quality and cooked to perfection. The serving staff, especially Alan, who looked after us for breakfast earlier in the morning too, ensured we were well looked after, and even went the extra mile and made us an Irish Coffee even though it wasn’t on the menu.

Really delicious dinner. Fresh and tasty food. Would highly recommend. A lady called Grace served us. She was so helpfully, very tentative and friendly. Will be coming back.

Whilst our server Grace was absolutely fabulous, and the setting is lovely if your at a window table , that was probably the best part of our experience. It was a very busy evening we waited what seemed like an eternity for our drinks and eventually food, The food was decidedly average, but by then I would have eaten my own arm, so we ate, paid and left. Well done Grace for your professionalism and happy nature despite being run off your feet.

Surprised looking back at all the 5 star reviews on here, maybe we just caught them on a bad day but this was one of the worst restaurants (food quality) I had ever been to with my family. The service was great and staff were really lovely, drinks came quickly and my 4 sons ordered kids chicken nuggets & chips which arrived 10 minutes after we had ordered it, barely warm and the chicken nuggets had the most driest chicken it in it was so hard and i found it hard to cut the it in half. Due to us being on a tight time frame we decided to just pay and leave without looking at dessert menu. Very disappointed

A very clean, spacious haven amongst a busy family holiday park, and the food was delicious! The Lady who seated us and took our order was very sweet, friendly and helpful, as was the young man who brought our food out. They both seemed very pleasant and professional and made our lunch out a very enjoyable experience.

Tonight 4 of friends and I went to Smugglers restaurant for our dinner. We were greeted with a friends girl who sat us at a lovely round table this made our dining experience more sociable. Our waitress was super friendly and took all of our orders nice a quickly. The food was amazing, 1 seabass, 1 seafood linguine, and 3 rump steaks cooked to perfection for the chef Alexis. Alexis took the time to come out, and we thanked him personally. The lad that bought our food out was slso polite and friendly. We had an around super dining experience at Smugglers restaurant.

My husband and I and our three young children ate dinner at this restaurant all three nights of our stay at Seal Bay. The service we received each evening was excellent - the staff were all so friendly and helpful. On one very wet evening the restaurant was particularly busy, however the staff remained calm and efficient. Tammy, who served us on all three evenings of a busy bank holiday weekend, could not have been more helpful. I wish I knew the names of the other staff who served us - they were all very polite and clearly well trained. I was also very impressed with the food - the seafood linguine, Caesar salad and fish and chips were all delicious! The staff working here are an absolute asset to Seal Bay - thanks again from us all!

The food here was really lovely and the service was really good. Slightly pricey but don't mind paying for good food.

Not so much a complaint but a comment to be made to the chef with no real response from the waitress! Poor, took our party of 13 elsewhere for the remaining 2x breakfasts we went out for.

Beautiful meal looking out over the sea at smugglers Inn. Dan was fabulous ! Friendly and speedy service. The food was really delicious and I can definitely recommend the steak Really good value for money too 🙂

8 of us had lunch at the smugglers restaurant including 3 kids with excellent customer service. Dan and Tammy were super friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy! Also arranging some cheesy chips for us!

went for a week stay all the staff where lovely on our last day stopped by the Smugglers restaurant and got served by Dan the food was amazing and Dan was so sweet really made the experience that extra bit special

It has a lovely view over the channel .Smugglers restaurant has plenty of seating and the staff serving us were nice and welcoming.However I ordered scampi and chips.No peas as they had run out.my wife ordered chicken Caesar salad but they didn't have Caesar salad...

Really great food good choice or food and portions size And the service was 10/10 from MAISIE who was looking after us for lunch, amazing customer service :) definitely eat there again, and 100% recommended it to friends and family.

We were served by Dan and he was very professional and friendly. The food was excellent and good value for money. The view was amazing looking out to the sea. All staff were excellent. Very polite and welcoming. The whole resort is a great location.
