Stopped for brunch to break a journey. Drinks came fairly quickly but after half an hour’s wait for food we queried, and were told by a member of staff that they had to go outside the cafe to access a new freezer and this had caused the delay. Strange as we had seen our food congealing under the heaters for at least ten minutes and no staff had left the cafe! Unsurprisingly the bacon bap and eggs Benedict were greasy and unappetising, will definitely not return for food.

Tea room - ridiculously small portions for a fair bit of money. £9 for a small bowl of boiled gnocchi with a smear of pesto and a sprinkling of mozzarella. Was tasteless so asked for some tomatoes to liven it up. Received a small bowl with 3 tiny tomatoes in it.

We popped in for a weekday lunch and the cafe was not busy at all. We ordered 2 portions of scampi and chips and a portion of their pasta of the day which was gnocchi. Considering that we were there slightly off the lunch time crowd, we still had to wait a good half an hour for our food. The serving of the scampi was small for the price that was charged. There was salad on the menu but we were not allowed to swap the peas for salad. The gnocchi was uninspiring and for £9.99, we were presented with a plate that looked insipid. When asked for some tomatoes to make the dish look more appetising, we were given 3 cherry tomatoes. I don’t think we will Come back to eat here again. Expensive. Slow service.

Cafe in delightful setting in the Garden Centre grounds. We visited on a sunny day and had option of eating inside or out. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food freshly cooked to order (we had fish & chips), so piping hot. Very reasonable price. The Garden Centre had large range of plants all well watered and obviously cared for well. The Garden Centre staff were also very helpful and friendly. A very good experience all round!

Despite purporting to be dog friendly we found dogs are not permitted in the restaurant but are banished, with their owners, to cabins outside the restaurant building. This is not made clear on the website nor evident until you reach the restaurant door. A little more clarity/ honesty is required in this regard. On enquiring as to why dogs aren’t permitted we were told it is due to possible allergies to dogs by other customers and/or Health and Safety Law issues. Funny then we take our dog into many other dog friendly pubs and cafes where such Laws are not in force. Clearly the reasons given are red herrings thus it must be a company policy issue. That being so make it clear on the website and other promotional material!! D.Earp 29/3/2024

Very disappointed in the café. We went about 3pm, on a Saturday. Got there and it wasn't busy, but heard a couple of people asking where their order was, but didn't think much of it. There were only about 3 tables taken when we got there, so we decided to stay. We placed our order, for 2 cakes, and 2 coffees and went and sat down. We could see lots of drinks being taken outside and into the huts, but didn't know what was going on in them. We weren't told that there would be a wait. After about half an hour, with no communication, we decided to cancel our order. When we left there was only 1 other table, who also went and cancelled. We definitely won't be back. The whole café was cold as well, and not helped by the staff leaving the door open every time they went out.

This is a lovely proper Garden Centre that are plantsmen. It covers a big site but is family owned and managed as far as I know. Their plants are lovely and good value for money. They have an excellent selection of sundries, tools , furniture and houseplants 😄. I would think everything you want for your garden. They have a lovely tearoom with again good value for money food. Fairly simple menu but caters for everyone and is very nicely cooked. I have to say too that all the staff in every area are really nice 👍🏻. Good customer service 😁. Dogs are welcome 🐾. Always a bonus for dog lovers. Large car park. There are ramps for any disabled folk and ofcourse toilets. Brilliant. Not only all of the above mentioned but there is also an excellent farm shop there too. Packed with goodies 😉. Aylings is located on the A 272 near Petersfield and is easily accessible. So she then went to get the cutlery but there want any spoons in the box so had to ask the washer up for a spoon. We called in on Saturday 20th August ordered and paid then went to the table, we waited, waited, waited and waited some more! Other tables were being served even people who came in after us so after I saw the young lads have a cuppa and go through the kitchen area I realised Hey we have been forgotten I then asked one of the lads if we had been forgotten? he replied well have you ordered and paid to which I replied yes and then asked if I had ordered from him ....I said no the and pointed out the other lad had taken the order.... I then took the receipt from my purse and showed him we eventually did receive our order. When this café first opened it was an absolutely lovely place to visit and have lunch. Stopped here for lunch it was very empty which should of been a giveaway for what was to come, ordered the cheeseburger and fries, and a ploughman’s, now the cheeseburger meal was fine arrived with chunky chips that were well cooked and side salad, however came on a cold plate but all good, the problem was the ploughmans which was described as coming with a warm baguette, now the baguette was one of those tiny part baked ones you buy in packs of six in the supermarket just 1, the slice of cheese was bigger than the “baguette “, there was also a slice of ham and brie an salad with butter in pre wrapped pack, as the waiter put the plates down he said be careful the plates hot, well it was the butter melted on the plate and the cheese was going gooey on one side!!!!!, the chance of saying anything isn’t worth it as due to there social distancing rules you’ve already paid and they are off out the way no one returns to check all is ok you are left alone, looking over at another table who had sandwiches there plates were full so if you stop here don’t waste your money on a ploughman’s , you get a better meal in a sandwich at 1/2 the cost.....and no we wouldn’t go again
