Excellent service brilliant food throughly enjoyable top restaurant left full and happy thanks a must stop for anyone

We went to the Smoky Corner with friends as a lunch stop. The decor is lovely and the staff were very friendly. The range of burgers in excellent and they are as tasty as they sound. We had a small issue with our food, which when pointed out to the staff was rectified to our satisfaction and the staff were very kind and professional. I would highly recommend Smoky Corner as a good value for money lunch venue.

Really enjoyed sirloin steak, burger and brownie to finish. Steak in particular was excellent value. We were the only customers there and as other reviewers have noted, the restaurant does seem to struggle a bit. The menu does lack focus - some Middle Eastern dishes, the odd pasta, then a range of burgers and steak. Also felt the lighting was too bright to create any kind of atmosphere. I really wish them well and hope they can get the magic formula.

This review is a result of my third visit to this delightful restaurant. It has a relatively short menu, which when combined with a lack of ketchup on show is generally a good sign of a restaurant that cares about food. The Burgers are full of meat great and I can recommend the onion rings.

I had a really nice burger, using a Groupon because I hadn’t tried the place which is nearby. The decor is good the staff were pleasant and the food was actually really good so I would be happy to eat there. The only problem was the paucity of custom which is undeserved

Myself and my friend went to this restaurant and we had dry age steak which was good quality for the price and we really enjoyed our experience there. Service was also good and smile people

My partner and I booked a table at Smoky Corner at 7.15 for a date night on a Saturday. A couple of hours later I receive a call from the restaurant in which they inform me that there will be a live music Turkish event that starts at 8pm and there is a fixed menu of £30 and to confirm if that was okay. We were more than happy with that because we thought we would pay for the fixed menu, have our meal and stay and enjoy the live music for a couple of hours before heading back home. The person on the phone failed to mention that even if we showed up at 7.15 for our reservation we wouldn't get appetisers until 8.30. The appetisers tasted great and we were very excited for the main course. When the main course didn't arrive in the next hour we were puzzled but decided to wait it out. The main arrived 3,5 HOURS LATER and was completely cold and quite bland- it felt that it came out of the fridge because they had it sitting out for so long under turned off heat lamps. Bear in mind they made us pre pay for the meal before we even ordered drinks and I can now see why. Most tables were sending the food back but then the same plate was coming back just slightly reheated. By that point both my partner and I were completely appalled, barely touched our food which we paid £30/each for, paid our drinks tab and left. In hindsight I should of asked for a refund. We are not even sure a dessert was coming but after getting there at 7pm and leaving at 11pm where we just had appetisers I really had had enough. I don't know if it was a blip in the planning of the night or them trying to keep us there for longer but I would not recommend this place at all.

Went with friends yesterday evening - what a wonderful experience! The food is absolutely delicious, the service was amazing - very prompt, very customer friendly. The ambience is really good. There was live music yesterday (could dial down the volume for the basement space but loved the beats! loved the music!). Upstairs very spacious and open. Outdoor space ample being at the corner! Short walk from the tube station (1 or 2 min depending on how you walk!). Free parking nearby after 6 pm if you are driving (I drove an EV and found both free and near-free parking using JustPark app - the restaurant staff recommended some nearby spots to park too). Memorable experience and will keep coming.

The restaurant has been tastefully renovated so the great service and take-away burgers we enjoyed foretells great things for an in-house steak blow-out soon. The service was really friendly, and they have a few outdoor tables to enjoy some KTR al fresco dining. I had an enjoyable glass of malbec when waiting for my order, and I honestly cannot wait to see how they've transformed the Annie's basement. I'm told the loos are still mirrored, whether the sunken bar survived will be a story told when they open downstairs. Welcome to Kentish Town Smoky!

Just wanted to give it a try to this new place with friends in Kentish Town on this bank Holiday weekend. I have tried the ribeye steak and really enjoyed it. I will definitely visit again.

Went here today as was in the area to attend a gig. Very pleasantly surprised, pleased with service, quality of food was exceptional and staff friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

This new addition to th Kentish Town Road is deserving of support. Open for about a month before our take away visit, we saw it in a local business website and thought the menu was interesting. So tonight with none of us in the mood to cook on this Easter Monday we decide we would give it a go. Three cheeseburgers and a mix of starters for a 4th proved to be a pleasant surprise. The burgers get away from the overly sauced and dripping with juice burgers that have become all the rage. A fresh tasty patty with a touch of sauce and tomato and lettuce was all that was needed. Key to any burger is a great bun and they nailed it. Our starter diner had the Smoked Salmon Bruschetta, Mac n Cheese and the asparagus gratin. She was willing to share and all three were excellent which bodes well for what the kitchen will produce as the current menu is expanded. The only let down was the onion rings which lost texture on the trip back home. The people are lovely and the kitchen is working to pretty high bar for what is pitching itself in the midrange between a cafe and fine dining. We were told all the pastas are made fresh in the kitchen. They have done a lot with the old building and I cannot wait to come back when table service is resumed. In the meantime we have another fine place to dine in a neighbourhood with no shortage of options. These folks deserve the support. Opening a new restaurant in the middle of covid lockdown is brave. Perhaps foolish. But they have got the main thing right. What is on the plate. Order by phone or online and collect
