Smoking Goat Shoreditch in Hackney

Me senté en el bar solo y fui atendido por un camarero amable y conocedor. Tomé un gran cóctel, seguido de un delicioso y satisfactorio almuerzo. Desearía haber probado más platos en el menú... la próxima vez traeré a un amigo o amigos para obtener más y compartir más!

Reservado por nuestro hijo de Londres - basado en la comodidad para su lugar en la calle Luke's en una noche en ruta a casa de unas vacaciones en Finlandia. Encantadora comida familiar falta solo nuestra hija (esquí - ing en Francia! ). OK solo para aquellos que les gusta su comida picante, pero si usted está de acuerdo con eso este lugar ofrece una inusual, al menos para mí, selección de platos tailandeses y funciona bien como una opción de tapas si eso es lo que te gusta. Mi curry massaman de ternera era absolutamente fantástico, el casero hecho roti delicioso, podría continuar. Y a un precio muy razonable, dada la ubicación. No ofrecen dulces. No, solo cruza la calle para disfrutar de una delicia en Bao Noodles. Todo bien.

Después de haber vivido en el sudeste asiático durante mucho tiempo, y de haber regresado de Tailandia, somos bastante exigentes con la comida tailandesa. Cabra Ahumadora nos lo recomendó nuestro hijo aunque nos advirtió que no esperáramos nada tradicional. Y eso no solo estaba bien, sino que también era útil porque no visitamos con ninguna expectativa particular. Está a un paseo bastante largo de la estación de Old Street, aunque está muy convenientemente situado en Shoreditch High Street. El lugar es súper moderno, en consonancia con gran parte de la zona y la clientela es joven, pero bastante mezcla de profesionales y comensales casuales. Pedimos algunos platos entre los dos, pero el más destacado fue el vientre de cerdo estofado de Moo Hong, que diría que podría ser el mejor, más suculento y más sabroso cerdo que he comido. Sí, volvería especialmente para este plato. El Celeriac Som Tam parecía insípido, pero era cualquier cosa menos - ferozmente sabroso y fantástico. Las alitas de pollo también eran geniales, pero, nos sentimos, caros. Tal vez el plato más decepcionante fueron los fideos vegetarianos. El servicio fue amable y eficiente. Los cócteles eran un poco en el lado medio - y sobreprecio por lo que eran.

Totalmente empacado, pero sin esperar cuando llegamos. Los servidores son super relajados, tantas opciones deliciosas y bien sincronizado por lo que la mesa no estaba demasiado llena. Tomamos té de leche tailandés, piel de pollo (¡quiero uno para mí la próxima vez!), vientre crudo de trucha, fideos y arroz con jazmín.

Este fue un restaurante maravilloso para probar. La comida era deliciosa! Lo mejor es ir en grupo y los platos están diseñados para ser compartidos entre ustedes. Probamos todos los entrantes ya que éramos un grupo grande de 10. Las alitas de pollo y la piel de pollo me destacaron. Sin embargo, algunos de la mesa pensaron que la piel era un poco demasiado salada. Las tuberías principales eran igualmente delicioso - no hay problemas con la gama de opciones, el vientre de barbacoa era precioso. Encantadora selección de cócteles, pero solo ofrecieron que estaba en el menú y nada ‘estándar’. Uno de los miembros del grupo quería un martini expreso, pero no estaba disponible. ¡Es justo! Se probaron cervezas y todas sabrosas, sin embargo el vino no era genial - de ahí por qué 4 comienza. Pedimos el tinto de la casa y como el restaurante mantiene todo ‘natural’ el vino tenía un ligero efervescencia (naturalmente azúcares fermentando) que simplemente no estaba de acuerdo con nosotros. El personal estaba contento de que me cambio y pedimos un Malbec que estaba bien. Los cócteles eran deliciosos y a alrededor de £ 10 / 1 2 cada uno, vale la pena probar. El personal era bastante atento. Tenían ganas de recibir nuestros pedidos de bebidas y nos revisaban de vez en cuando, pero tuvimos que avisarles un par de veces ya que estábamos escondidos en una esquina. Fueron educados y serviciales dado que estaba ocupado! Lo recomendaría a fondo y volvería a visitar. Deliciosa barbacoa comida tailandesa

Excelentes platos principales y un servicio maravilloso. Desafortunadamente, ¿realmente decepcionado por algo tan simple como el arroz? Muy cocido, seco, y claramente dejado fuera bajo una lámpara de calor. Realmente decepcionante, ya que restó valor a toda la comida.

Tuve una deliciosa comida con después de la recomendación de mi hija el jueves por la noche. Ella tenía las mejores alitas de pollo allí antes. Eran realmente sublimes. Nuestra camarera Honor hizo algunas recomendaciones y eran absolutamente deliciosos también - tuvimos mejillones, ensalada de col, ensalada aplastante, calamares y arroz para comer con las deliciosas salsas. Excelente servicio, excelente comida y ambiente - muy recomendable.

Después de haber investigado un poco sobre lugares para comer en Shoreditch para llevar a algunos amigos de Australia por primera vez en el Reino Unido, Smoking Goat fue muy recomendable. La comida era mediocre, pero más decepcionante fue el servicio! La actitud del personal fue de derecho y arrogancia, lo que es una pena si se tienen en cuenta los exámenes anteriores. Normalmente descartaría esto ya que todo el mundo puede tener una noche libre, pero a la hora de dar una propina decidimos que los 12. El 5 % que se había añadido automáticamente a la factura no reflejaba el servicio prestado. Decidimos bajar esto a aproximadamente el 8 % en línea con su actitud y servicio... a lo que luego nos enfrentamos con una camarera muy abrupta y enojada que nos informó que tiene un salario mínimo y no puede sobrevivir sin propinas! ¡Se requiere más capacitación y personal potencialmente diferente!

No es tu restaurante habitual. Platos pequeños , no todos servidos al mismo tiempo. Y eso es lo que me gusta ❤️, sigues comiendo despacio y muchos sabores diferentes. La comida puede ser bastante picante... Las cervezas se sirven muy bacalao en vasos directamente del congelador. El servicio es tranquilo, amable y atento.

God stemning og et fantastisk serviceminded og imødekommende personale. Maden var utroligt lækket, drikkevarerne kolde og velsmagende og servicen var i top. Maden var til den stærke side (men vi var advaret). Vi opsøgte stedet på anbefaling fra en handlende i lokalområdet, og fortrød det ikke i et sekund. De varmeste anbefalinger ❤️.

El servicio es genial, sin problemas, pero muy amable y eficiente. Ambiente muy ocupado y encantador. Teníamos el vientre estofado, que era delicioso y no algo que se come muy a menudo cuando se cocina de esa manera! El apio también fue una gran sorpresa y de nuevo, los sabores son muy inusuales y eso es lo que hace que este ritmo sea tan especial.

Tenía muchas esperanzas, pero la comida que pedí tenía un sabor horrible. Demasiadas hierbas y la comida en sí era fría y agria. El personal era encantador y tal vez pedí los platos equivocados, pero estaba realmente poco impresionado - era muy caro también para lo que era.

Got a great seat at the bar and picked a few things off the menu, following advice from our server. Maybe we should have looked more closely at what was coming out of the kitchen, but our food was disappointing - the pork belly in particular, which was 80% fat. The rest of our selectins were fine - but a lot nbetter to look at than eat. Service was impeccable and a good choice of beers.

The idea seemed nice a birthday celebration, ordering small dishes for everyone to share, however they were small , the price of some dishes are not justified, okay trendy place but terribly terribly overpriced gorcwhat you get Dont know how they get away with there mark ups. Sorry wont be coming back, lower your prices,or put more in the bowls

The place has a great atmosphere. The belly pork was nice but quite a bit of the fat was inedible, I chewed the fat for ages and it still wouldn’t go down. We had literally just finished our drinks when a waiter ( not sure if he’s a manager?) came over and asked us to leave as they had people waiting for tables. He wasn’t very friendly. It felt very rude and rushed ( considering we had spent a lot there and hadn’t overstayed our welcome ) . Nice and interesting food however. The other waitress was friendly.

Honestly disappointed… having high expectations the food was flavourless and disappointing. The food was salty and sour( although Thai food is normally quite high in salt) this was inedible. My boyfriend is a chef, and was looking forward to trying this food, thinking it would be full with flavour, it was one dimensional with little to no taste. Overall price was dreadful for quality of food. The chicken wings were seasonally the only thing that made the meal worth eating. Service was poor, very rude.

I had heard positive reviews about the Smoking Goat from friends, so was looking forward to checking it out. One caution I would give is that I didn’t fully realise how many dishes had pork elements, so that is definitely something to bear in mind if you don’t eat red meat like me. We ordered a starter of chicken skin, three small plates and a portion of rice between us which was plenty. The fried chicken was especially tender and juicy, with a nice crunchy coating for contrast - the soy-chilli sauce it came with was especially delicious and a great addition to the plain rice. The chicken offal, however, did have a sizable amount of gristle in it which wasn’t particularly pleasant. Good range of soft drinks.

Excellent Southeast Asian inspired menu and cocktails. Complex and delicious flavors with open fire cooking. One of the best meals in London!

Cracking Thai restaurant! It’s surprising to find a Thai restaurant in the UK that is actually brave enough to serve proper Thai flavours - Spicy, salty, sour, sweet!! Amazing bold flavours, super spicy and everything we had was delicious. We went with 3 people so need to go back and try the dishes we didn’t have room for. You are pre warned you have the table for 1.5 hours and it wasn’t long enough. We were asked 3 times if they could clear our plates when we still had food. Would prefer a 2 hour seating but they were completely full so understand they want to turn people around as fast as they can. So overall very good food, felt rushed but will definitely go back!

Having moved to Manchester a few years ago, I have never had the chance to visit Smoking Goat. Now that I am back in East London, I thought that today (Friday) would be the day to make my way over. I arrived to meet a colleague for a late lunch at 2.15pm - I arrived early, and the place was busy but not full. Lunch service was winding down you could feel. As I waiting for a colleague and was early, I sat at the bar and was quickly served and expertly looked after by the bartender. It was Friday, so I enjoyed a nice glass of cider. When my colleague arrived, after a little confusion, a table was set up for us by the front windows of Shoreditch High Street and we headed over. We were given ample time to decide on food choices, though it took some time to get attention and my colleague had to go over to catch attention. We made our order promptly but it took some time for food to come out. I can be a bit uppity when service is slow and my colleague and I began looking around in that natural that can happen when you feel you’re waiting longer than you should. We enjoyed a snack item to start, choosing the Fried Chicken Skin. The chicken skin was lovely and milder than a similar dish at Speedboat, making it easier to enjoy. This was followed by Fried Chicken, and on this dish I have to agreed with my friend who was dining with me… the finest piece of fried chicken you have ever had! We then rounded this up with the Moo Hong Braised Belly 450g, Crispy Pig Bits Citrus Salad, and some Jasmine Rice. Let’s start with the easy bit. The rice was rice, cooked properly. Not much else to say. The Moo Hong Braised Belly was perfect cooked and the meat and fat balanced well to give a great sensation on the tongue. The Crispy Pig Bits Citrus Salad. Have you ever been punched in the throat by a beautiful Thai woman? No? Try the Crispy Pig Bits Citrus Salad. It’s beautiful but takes no prisoners. The food at Smoking Goat was good. The service was lacking. The team members were great. Polite and personable, but they were struggling with something, food took a little longer than I would expect, and we hardly saw the staff around us. I had similar food the day before at Speedboat, for a similar price per person. The staff were amazing. I remember their names, we had a laugh, they recommended dishes to try on the next visit. Here, it was okay but it kind of felt taken for granted that we would think it was great and come back again on a return visit. Now, believe me. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t as good as I would have hoped. It didn’t feel worth more than the, apparent slightly down market in comparison, Speedboat Bar. Maybe this was because they were on a wind down after a lunch service, with the shift change happening ahead of the dinner service? I don’t know, but I will give it another go.

So we are pretty regular to the goat and never come away disappointed..we spent Christmas in Thailand so is great to be reminded of all the delicious flavours..can definitely recommend the trout belly ceviche & chicken wings always hit the spot! Have to mention the egg fried rice noodles♥️ But I’ve got to say the frozen cocktail `death in the family’ is really sadly missing from the drinks menu..it was such a match for the spicy dishes here & really hope it’s returning 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Very lucky to have found this place as we originally were going to a nearby restaurant but it was closed. The server recommended a few dishes (it is sharing style modern Thai cuisine) and I thought he did a good job offering honest recommendations and did not try to get us to order too much (which is not very difficult with me). Everything was packed with flavor, some great contrasts and nice sized servings. The real standout for me was the Massaman short rib, which was incredible, both in terms of tender meat and great flavor. Another great dish was the chicken wings, so unlike wings almost anywhere also with interesting and complex flavors. The citrus salad with pork was also very interesting ad a nice contrast to the other dishes. I found the duck a little underwhelming but primarily because everything else was so great. As someone who tries to watch their carbs, the cabbage is a good option to avoid rice. Dying to go back.

Un concept incompréhensible ! Je n'ai jamais écrit de mauvais avis, mais là je pense que c'est la pire expérience culinaire de ma vie. Que vous aimiez ou pas, tout le monde s'en fout sachez le; Endroit bruyant, service inexistant, prix exorbitants .

What a flavour festival. Really amazing dishes served by great people in a relaxed environment. Yep there are some dam hot dishes but each mouthful is different and so fresh. Stacked with fresh herbs and some outstanding sauces. We loved it all great real beers and wines. All the staff are friendly and no there stuff be it the food or drinks. Can’t wait to go back

Innovative and tasty Thai food in a stylish setting. Situated in the heart of stylish Shoreditch, the menu was varied and interesting. Great Thai food.

Not really sure what all the fuss is about. I came here on a Saturday without a booking and they had no trouble finding us a table, having said that the restaurant was busy and there seemed to be a nice buzz about the place. The waiting staff were very friendly and were good talking through the menu. They have a good selection of cocktails too. Massive low point was being given plastic dishes! Plastic dishes for all the food. Very Shoreditch I guess but I prefer to eat my dinner on a real plate. For starters we had the chicken wings, I wasn’t a fan. They were drenched in an over powering fish sauce and salty. The main we went for the beef short rib, with the cabbage. The cabbage again drenched in fish sauce, whilst it had a good bite to it, it could’ve been doing with a little longer. The beef rib was tender but the coconut sauce was very rich. All in all it feels like they use heavy overpowering flavours on the food. Good portion sizes but I won’t be rushing back.

If bored of your typical Thai meal, this one is good and serves up barbecued varieties of Thai food. The crispy chicken skin wasn’t too great but the cabbage, pork belly and beef heart salad were good. Soft drink sodas were great and the wider bar options looked decent enough. Price and service ok.

First of all, I’d like to thank smoking goat for just server up the nicest Thai food you can get in London, every time. We come here usually before watching my football team West Ham play and, well smoking Goat never fails to deliver a scrumptious spicy Thai meal. The server is 2nd to none, and the food, well lost for words. My mouth is salivating as I think the most incredible food creation imaginable - The Fish Sauce Wings. Oh my gosh, I live 2 hours from London near Bath, and, I would pay 100s of pounds for someone to deliver one fish sauce wing. They are out of this world. Thank You smoking Goat, and we will be back soon to eat as many Chicken wings that can fit in our stomach! Also, all the other food is also insanely good and a must try if you’re in the area! Outstanding! The food was gorgeous — beautiful preparation and execution, handled by very competent kind staff. The dishes were innovative and unusual for Thai food — and perfectly spicy! Highly recommended!
