Smokin' Bull Burger and Grill in Sheffield

Really enjoyed the Limp Brizkit burger. A generous amount of beef brisket which had good grill flavour but was a tad dry and therefore quite chewy. The patty was very tasty and cooked perfectly. Sauces all complimented it nicely too. Sweet potato fries were well salted and we're a decent size portion. The staff were friendly and the location is quite quirky (in a cool way). Not a burger I'd rave about or go back to have again but I left very satisfied.

My work colleague, my son and i visited on 5th of April. I was looking for a local non chain restaurant that caters for both meat and veggie. We were all blown away by the atmosphere, the decor, the staff and the food!!! We could not have been made to feel more welcome!!! Super comfy padded chairs and the food was incredible!!! Our burgers were the best we've ever eaten (I had the Smokin non bull (veggie), my son had the Smokey Robinson and my colleague the Pork loaded fries) and the pork loaded fries i was told were simply heaven! This place has it all and washed down with a lovely pint of Craft IPA. I have got to mention again how awesome the staff were, super friendly and just really beautiful peolple!!! My son now wants to move to Sheffield! Keep doing what you are doing, we cannot wait to come back!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you, you guys really are SMOKIN!!! 10/10

We went to Smokin’ Bull a few times when it was near Leopold Square and loved it. It felt a cut above other burger places with a menu that had interesting options, great service and lovely wine and beer. This was the first time we’ve been to the current location and we were disappointed. It’s more of a fast food place now (manager/chef words). The menu is smaller, my wine wasn’t great, the waitress was monosyllabic and had massive stick on nails which shouldn’t be anywhere near food. The burger was good but nothing special. Not worth going out of our way for. Wouldn’t go again.

During the final day of my latest trip to Sheffield I was looking for a place to have a late lunch and I remember ed The Smokin Bull from a previous trip. At first I was a bit uncertain and a bit sceptical as I thought it was bit in the pricey side and decided to look around to check nearby eateries but after a while I returned and ordered one of the chicken burgers - I don't remember which one - and some sweet potato fries along with a large Fanta that I could refill as many times as I liked for no extra cost. The chicken breast fillet in my bun was large, thick, fresh and very succulent. The fillet was just cooked right and not burnt at all. The bun was soft, fresh and thick. As far as I can remember, I remember the slice of cheese on my burger was thick, most and soft. For sides, instead of portion of regular fries, I had a portion of sweet potato fries which are healthier. My portion was large and the fries themselves were very thick and succulent along with being cooked very well. As for my Fanta, it filled my glass to the top. Decor wise, the restaurant has a rustic feel to it and I think it is supposed be a rustic American Mid Western burger and grill. COVID measure wise, as far as I can remember, apart from open windows there was not any measures in place. Service wise, I had to wait a quite a bit fort food but that was to be expected as with most good eateries. You could go and see your food being cooked. For vegetarians and vegans there are varieties of some of the burgers with fake meat and vegan cheese. I would definitely recommend Smokin Bull for quick lunches and occasions such as children s birthday parties and stag parties.

I visited this restaurant with my family. My 5 week old baby needed her nappy changing. When I asked the waiting staff weren’t even sure if they had any! There were no changing facilities as they said the disabled toilets were out of order. I had to change my baby in her pram. Half in and half out the ladies toilets as they weren’t big enough to get the pram and me in. Not good enough!

Where to start… made a booking for two. On arrival they said no booking received despite having confirmation email. Wasn’t busy so sat us down, at a mucky table for two. Five minutes before a menu given, asked for table to be cleaned- didn’t expect to inhale spray and have leftover food wiped onto us. Another five minutes before order taken; 2 burgers and 2 drinks. 10 minutes later drinks arrived, cutlery dumped on table as waitress walked past. Same waitress that took order then brought one burger and asked if other person has ordered, order repeated. Waitress walked off and didn’t say anything. Went to the front and asked if burger was coming, advised this order had not been taken. Waitress who took order said we had not ordered. Two of us aren’t going to come out for food and only one eat??? Waitress then smirked, no manners, no apology. walked out, every table was dirty and had left over food. Guy stood at counter with waitress made a cocky comment on way out. Would not recommend to anyone

Booked online received a text to say reservation had been received and would receive a call to confirm the booking No call visited the venue and was told they were closed even though there were people eating inside Booked online again the following day and received a text to saying booking request was received and I would receive a call to confirm the booking Surprise surprise no call! I booked on the basis of good reviews but sadly we had a poor experience. We were seated promptly and given menus. Drinks order was taken within 5 minutes but we were told we couldn’t order food for 10 minutes as the kitchen was too busy. (Surely take the order but warn us there’ll be a wait for the food?) The restaurant was less than half full, though two of the tables were of 6 peoples. (The rest were couples.) The drinks arrived but no one cane to take our order. After 25 minutes I got up and asked at the counter. We tried to order sparkling water but they had none, then a milkshake- they had none, and then the sharing platter- not doing that tonight. This was more irritating because of the long wait to order. If we’d just been told when we were given the menus, it wouldn’t have been a problem. The food arrived in decent time and was good - decent quantity and quality. After finishing, we waited 20 minutes in an increasingly empty restaurant before giving up waiting and going to the counter to order pudding. I paid at the same time to avoid more waiting. The waitresses were very friendly and apologetic about everything. And we may have been unlucky with our initial wait time as we aligned with the two large tables. But I had to get them from behind the counter when ordering - our table wasn’t in view of the counter and I think we just kept getting forgotten. Few other issues: Menus not cleaned thoroughly- brown sticky marks Glass not clean- lipstick on rim. It was changed promptly and the waitress apologised. No soap in the mens toilets and the hand-dryer didn’t work. No toilet roll on the women’s toilets and the bin was overflowing onto the floor. Overall, it was a really poor experience, which is a shame as the burgers were good.

Visited Smokin Bull last night and a man who enjoys a good burger I wasn’t disappointed. We booked early as we were at the cinema so a little surprised when it wasn’t busy but it soon filled up. I have to say the food is great and the burgers and chicken dippers were very good. Rustic feel and vibe so don’t expect the ritz but the burgers are great. Also try the cookie dough desserts OMG.

We booked a table for this afternoon as we were going to the theatre later. The cheeseburger I ordered was cooked to perfection, and my husband agreed the fries were the best we have ever tasted, they were delicious. The staff were pleasant, helpful and attentive and a credit to the company. We really liked the way the restaurant looked, with a lovely casual vibe and the background music was great. Looking forward to visiting the Smokin' Bull again when we are back in Sheffield. I have tagged it as cheap eats, but that isn't correct, as the food was quality but not expensive.

The restaurant itself is beautiful, it has a calm rustic vibe. The food was absolutely amazing. The best restaurant in Sheffield. We both ordered the sirloin. My partner ate all his in minutes while I asked for a takeaway box to continue to enjoy the deliciousness at home. I wanted to eat it all there and then but preferred to take it somewhere more private to make loud inappropriate noises while eating. I mentioned being gluten free and the extremely pleasant chef came out twice to ask further questions and provide reassurances. It can be tough trusting others to cook food when you are always worried about a mistake being made and days of gluten induced pain ensuing. I am also keto and the staff were happy to replace the fries with a delicious halloumi side. I may have slightly went over my macros but it was worth it. I am now trying to find out how to order the food to take home and eat in private like an absolute savage. The bottomless option of soft drinks is a bonus. Thank you for a wonderful meal!

Went completely blind on this, asked the staff what food and cocktail they would recommend and they were spot on with both. The burger was amazing, and was topped with three other types of meat ! Will definitely be back for more. 10/10
