My favourite steak house in Sheffield.

I went to La Vaca on a recommendation from a friend, and I was not disappointed. The dish has a good portion, even the children's plate comes with a good amount and tastes delicious. The music gives a good atmosphere to the place and the staff was friendly and helpful. It will definitely not be the last time you visit this place. I recommend it.

The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. The sides were also tasty.

Loved the steak. We had a porterhouse steak and a sirloin, both the meat were grilled perfectly, sides were very nice too, excellent service, staff are polite and sincere. I highly recommend La Vaca for a great quality steak in Sheffield. We will visit more often.

So glad we choose this resturant at random from the others in the area. Service was very good, team seemed happy and friendly. The food was the star of the show the Parrillada we had was very good, sirloin steaks cooked to perfection, lamb as very good..also came wit h chorizo and morcilla (this was the best Spanish black pudding I have had in England). My only niggle was the side salad had a bit too much oil. Wine was very good and overall everything responsibly priced...a great find we will return next time we visit Sheffield.

If your on foot, its a fair climb. But on the other hand, you'll have your appitite when you get there. (That was us 5yrs ago, give or take). We came back here for my birthday and the food was 'melt in your mouth' sensation. And if you have kids, no problem. They have burgers and chicken gujons etc. The service was amazing and you can see food being served up around the grills if your in the right spot. Will look forward to returning in the next coming months, as we're not local.

Hidden gem perfectly describes this place, been twice in recent months and look forward to our next visit. On most recent visit the 30oz t bone was cooked to perfection, juicy and really flavoursome. Staff are always very welcoming and friendly throughout your stay. Not a big place so always worth phoning to reserve a table. You will not leave hungry or disappointed

Absolutely beautiful food full of flavours and very generous with portions. We both had T-bones and they were cooked to perfection, sweet potatoes chips were delicious and so was the creamy spinach, nice bottle of house Malbec went down easily and to finish off we had a chocolate brownie with ice cream. All in all we enjoyed our dinner and will definitely be eating here again.

Went for the Early Bird offer - beautifully cooked steak, chips, salad and a glass of wine for less than £15. Absolutely fantastic place - we'll definitely come again next time we're in Sheffield.

Sirloin steaks are frying steaks. Half a bottle of wine was 2 small glasses, no bread & tomatoes on arrival as advertised, & absolutely shocking customer service. Wasn’t too fussed that we weren’t offered the complimentary bread & tomatoes, but when the wine arrived (half a bottle in a carafe) it was definitely a short measure. Annoyed, but let it slide. Ordered sirloin steaks, they were a cm thick, absolutely tasteless - no seasoning. Quickly poured on the peppercorn sauce, but that was just cream - unless you ate a peppercorn. The ‘spicy potatoes with chilli & garlic’ weren’t seasoned either, had no garlic, just a couple of slices of chilli thrown on top. The food was edible, don’t get me wrong. We ate it. But we were never asked how it was. When the waiter came to collect our plates he still didn’t really ask how it was, but my wife told him that it was bland & under-seasoned. He challenged this by saying the steaks are “simply seasoned with rock salt as they have been for 12 years” - a bit of an odd response to feedback. He said he’d let the kitchen (1 guy behind the counter) know. He delivered the bill, no discussion about remedying the dissatisfaction, full price on the ticket. My wife & I disagreed about complaining further (I worked in hospitality for decades & HATE complaining), but she was right - we shouldn’t pay full price for below par food. And she said as much - politely. His response was astounding - I’ve never seen such appalling customer service. He blamed us for not letting him know the food was below par - gestured to a guy behind us & said: “you should have told me like he did.” Given there were only 4 occupied tables, that means 50% of them were dissatisfied. He was really rude in his tone to my wife, until she felt like she had no choice but to refer to me. He was still on the attack & asked what I think he should do. I explained I’d worked in hospitality & hated these situations, but he proceeded to talk over me several times until I had to tell him he was absolutely dreadful at customer service. That he should have checked back on our meals within a few minutes (there were only 4 tables remember). Instead of cutting his losses, he then asked where I worked!! Absolutely unbelievable. I explained as calmly as possible but he kept interrupting until I just said I wanted to leave. He asked what I would do & I said I would have given complimentary drinks, but that ship had sailed. He said he’d void the wine off our bill, he kind of did, but not to the actual value, so we still paid for it.. he made us feel horrendously uncomfortable & we just wanted to leave. It’s such a shame as we used to live in the area & liked the restaurant. Safe to say, we’ll never be back & will tell anyone we know about this awful experience. Sorry for the essay. Just don’t go there!!

Best steaks in Sheffield bar none, with a very reasonable price tag for the quality of meat, sides, and preparation. The owners, chefs, and staff are always friendly and professional and provide a first-class service. I've never had anything but an exceptional steak dinner here. There are lots of options on the menu, and the staff always ensure you have a great meal. 10/10

Fantastic little gem we were going to go somewhere else but so glad we took a chance and went here the food staff and prices were excellent!! Very nice atmosphere, however they take a bit too long for our starters I believe 35 minutes for some olives and empanadas it's a bit too long. The parrillada for 2 was good but the pork ribs a bit too dry, the ensalada a la chilena need work (that it not lettuce on that chilean salad) Overall it's a nice restaurant but need some improvements to be better

We had planned to go to another restaurant last night, but fell lucky with this little find due to the other restaurant cancelling due to unforeseen circumstances. We'll what an absolute delight. I went with my friend Louise and we're always looking for good little independent restaurants to go to. We had the Carne sharing platter which was absolutely delicious, just enough for a starter for 2, this would have been nice as a main too. We had a bottle of red malbec for around £30, it was very nice, however could have been warmer to serve. If you love meat, then you'll love this. We both had steak cooked medium rare, and it was lovely, we had a cold herb dressing which complimented the steak, I have forgotten what it was called. I probably would have liked it cooked in salt, however that is my preference and you can always add your own. We had sweet potato fries, spicy potatoes and salad to accompany. We wanted olives on the salad and they happily obliged. I would have liked to have seen fillet steak on the menu as that's my usual go to. For pudding we shared a creme brule, which was a fine finish to a gorgeous meal. The customer service was fantastic and everyone made us feel welcome and comfortable. Would I recommend this place: Of course, would I go back, 100%, I can't wait.

It was a Monday evening, however the restaurant started to become busy from about 7pm which was a good sign, and we quickly saw why… We decided to go for the Parrillada – Minimum of 2 people £21.50pp; Includes 2 x 8oz Sirloin steaks (cooked to preference – ours is medium rare), chorizo, morcilla (mini sweet Spanish black pudding), pork ribs and chips. We also got a side of Greek Salad £3.50 and Baked Tomatoes £3.00. Our aim was to take any leftovers home… but there wasn’t any. The steaks were juicy, the chorizo was lovely, the ribs were a tad dry but we still enjoyed them and I have to say I don’t usually eat black pudding but I tried it and it was so tasty, I ended up eating it all. The side dishes gave our palettes a little cleanse throughout all that meat and were really refreshing and light. We cleared our plates with too much ease. The staff here were attentive, the restaurant itself is a little dated decor wise, however it’s obvious that it’s a popular place which people return to due to the quality meat and humble, down to earth serving. Superb! Been meaning to eat here for ages and finally went last week to celebrate my son's 16th. Steaks were cooked to perfection and we'll certainly be returning.

Amazing tasting steaks with fabulous sides

My wife and I had some lovely meals here in the past although it recently closed down for refurbishment with no notice on the doors etc. This meant my wife and I wasted a 30 min trip, so I gave it a 1 star review to warn others. I have since been informed it has reopened so changed my review.

Great steak - what’s not to like

Delicious, exquisite steak with brilliant sauces. We both had the T-bone (my first time having it), I had mine medium well with the peppercorn sauce and my dining companion had his medium, which was a little on the rare side, with the Diane sauce. I would definitely recommend this place and would definitely return. My only remarks on areas to improve is the relatively small size of drinks (200ml bottles/330ml cans) and the size of the sides.

Disgusting prices for starter 5 prawns for £7 99. As was a small amount of fries £7 99. The steak was good but was a bit pricey with no garnish. Wouldn't go back.

Not my kind of dishes, definitely bad environment and crowded. No air condition very cold. We just left and went for another place. Very simple tables and lousy taste in decoration.

Great food (and free for kids midweek early evening). Steak was perfect and kids say the chips are the best! Service was great too, very friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend.

La Vaca had closed for a short while and we were upset they weren't open anymore...fear not they're back! Best steak in Sheffield, I always go for the T-bone and share sides. Brilliant atmosphere and food is consistently excellent. Great selection of desserts too. Look out for early bird deals and offers. We'll be back again soon.

Went here on Saturday 15th July for a birthday meal. La Vaca is a nice Restraunt ,the staff on arrival was very welcoming and throughout our meal couldn't do enough for you. The Food what we had was really good, the food came quick and warm and everyone cleared up. I can't recommend this place enough and really reasonable on price for steak. Well done La Vaca keep up the good work. 👍

Great staff and front of house Shaka is amazing. This is the best steak in Sheffield without a doubt.

Don't bother wasting your money on the inconsistent places like Miller & Carter...This place is time and again consistent and delicious. The sides are perfectly adequate, but the meat (which is what you're going for) is absolutely spot on, and cooked over a proper BBQ.

Food was great. Service very slow. We had to ask where our starters were after 40mins. But then main coarse was reasonably quick.

Top quality steak, perfectly cooked. Delicious side dishes too. Nice friendly staff. Good value.

Food although not awful there was nothing wow about it that we couldn't have recreated at home from just the description on the menu. However steak wasn't badly priced and big cuts were on offer that you wouldn't find elsewhere.

A great place to go if you like a variety of steak and meat dishes.
