Amazing tasting steaks with fabulous sides

My wife and I had some lovely meals here in the past although it recently closed down for refurbishment with no notice on the doors etc. This meant my wife and I wasted a 30 min trip, so I gave it a 1 star review to warn others. I have since been informed it has reopened so changed my review.

Great steak - what’s not to like

Delicious, exquisite steak with brilliant sauces. We both had the T-bone (my first time having it), I had mine medium well with the peppercorn sauce and my dining companion had his medium, which was a little on the rare side, with the Diane sauce. I would definitely recommend this place and would definitely return. My only remarks on areas to improve is the relatively small size of drinks (200ml bottles/330ml cans) and the size of the sides.

Great service. Steaks cooked beautifully and great chips. The Argentinian beer and wine complimented the food. Highly recommend

Disgusting prices for starter 5 prawns for £7 99. As was a small amount of fries £7 99. The steak was good but was a bit pricey with no garnish. Wouldn't go back.

Not my kind of dishes, definitely bad environment and crowded. No air condition very cold. We just left and went for another place. Very simple tables and lousy taste in decoration.

Excellent food with service to match. The steaks were delicious and my son had the salted caramel cheesecake which is the best I've ever tasted. Will definitely return.

I know it’s just a steak but it’s a good steak. Cooked as you want it and served by pleasant and polite staff. You can see it all being cooked ( if you wish ) and can enjoy your meal in a friendly, relaxed environment. What’s not to like.?

La Vaca had closed for a short while and we were upset they weren't open anymore...fear not they're back! Best steak in Sheffield, I always go for the T-bone and share sides. Brilliant atmosphere and food is consistently excellent. Great selection of desserts too. Look out for early bird deals and offers. We'll be back again soon.

If you are a steak eater like me. You must try La VACA. With its open stove for cooking the finest steaks, to the greeting as you enter the place. Fantastic eating experience and I I would highly recommend it…

Went here on Saturday 15th July for a birthday meal. La Vaca is a nice Restraunt ,the staff on arrival was very welcoming and throughout our meal couldn't do enough for you. The Food what we had was really good, the food came quick and warm and everyone cleared up. I can't recommend this place enough and really reasonable on price for steak. Well done La Vaca keep up the good work. 👍

The owners, chefs, and staff are always friendly and professional and provide a first-class service. I've never had anything but an exceptional steak dinner here. There are lots of options on the menu, and the staff always ensure you have a great meal. 10/10

Don't bother wasting your money on the inconsistent places like Miller & Carter...This place is time and again consistent and delicious. The sides are perfectly adequate, but the meat (which is what you're going for) is absolutely spot on, and cooked over a proper BBQ.

Food although not awful there was nothing wow about it that we couldn't have recreated at home from just the description on the menu. However steak wasn't badly priced and big cuts were on offer that you wouldn't find elsewhere.

Living locally I've been going to this gem of a restaurant for years now and never had a bad meal. Quality produce, well prepared, fair prices and professional, friendly service always makes for a great night out. Hats off to the owners, keep up the good work!

I came with a friend, just the two of us at a table. We actually came here quite soon after it opened many years ago now. This time it was Wednesday evening and quite busy. The guy serving us was friendly and polite, gave us time to chat before ordering. My friend ordered the 8oz sirloin (I think), medium and I ordered the 12oz ribeye, medium rare. We shared chips and salads. Nothing comes with the steaks, any sides have to be ordered additionally. Neither steak was cooked how we asked for it, mine came rare, almost blue in the middle. The server took it back to be cooked more. Our steaks were good but not great. Its not as good as it used to be, change or chef maybe? The bill was about £46 for both of us. Sadly won't rush back anytime soon.

Delicious food big portions but the starters could be better and the restaurant is too noise

Had the t-bone and ribs, steak was fine, peppercorn sauce was nice, ribs though were dry and not much meat on them, lacked a bit of flavour, had to add bbq sauce to them, very noisy so if you like a bit if quiet you won't get it, parking is a bit if a problem as everywhere is double yellow lines, would I visit again, maybe not in a hurry as I would try other places, we also has a starter which was pastries with various filling and they didn't realy taste of much and very dry, the mini kebab sticks looked ok though so wish I had gone for them.

Possibly the best steak I've ever had. We really appreciated the description of each cut of meat and serving suggestions on the menu, this was especially helpful for me, as I don't eat steak often and wouldn't know what would suit me offhand.

Still a great value steakhouse, with friendly service in a laid back atmosphere and a good choice of cuts and options for any non-steak eaters daft enough to turn up with carnivorous chums. I tend to eat out a lot with work, friends & family etc . The Rib Eye steak I had tonight was probably one of the best I’ve ever eaten.In addition, the side orders were equally good. The overall cost as very competitive & not at all excessive.If you’re in Sheffield this place is well worth visiting. We were staying in the city centre, & it cost about £6 in a taxi to the restaurant.

Looked forward to a special family meal but came away so disappointed.Out of 8 steaks ordered, 3 were returned (tough and cooked very rare rather than the medium asked for) 2 were eaten without complaint although, again they were very undercooked and also cold. The other 3 were ok. The replacement steaks were not much better and all side dishes had gone cold but no offer of refreshing these. At £20 for the T-bone steaks, in a steak house, we expected better.The service was awful. No cutlery brought out for our main courses and we had to ask. These were eventually brought but without napkins. Side dishes and steak now verging on cold. Our first order of drinks was brought out quickly enough but after that we had to keep asking for a second drink which kept getting forgotten. In the end, the wine order came after the meal. The atmosphere was loud and the music intrusive making conversation from one end of the table to the other very difficult to hear. We spoke to the manager at the end of the evening but were not offered any gesture of good will and paid the bill in full but left no tip as the service was terrible. We will not be back and sadly for the restaurant, will tell anyone and everyone how bad this place is, in our opinion.

Attended for a family meal, and what to say. A friendly smile from the staff, quickly shown to a table and offered menus, after a few minutes drinks ordered, and when they arrived meal order placed. The meal arrived and was fantastic, tasty, large portions and reasonably priced. Really can't fault the staff or restaurant at all and we'll deserved 5/5
