We really like fish and seafood and whilst this restaurant does many other dishes there was certainly a great offering of different fish and a variety of seafood. We arrived and were surprised, only just having discovered the place on-line, how modern and slick the place was. You would not look out of place in a suit, a jacket, or more relaxed in decent jeans.A very nice welcome at the door we were shown to our table where our waiter introduced himself and provided water. A drink followed shortly and then he took our order, all very efficient and friendly and we really felt like we had settled into a very place place. We were in the slightly lower section at the back and not up the few steps to the area where you would get a view over the river, but we had booked rather last minute and this place was obviously very popular.I started with tiger prawns in a garlic and chilli sauce. This was excellent. My partner had the tian of crab and avocado that was a very decent portion and very tasty. We then both had the dish called "roasted shellfish". This was 1/2 lobster, jumbo tiger prawn and two large juicy scallops. It was very good indeed. I had a house salad to go with it and we shared a portion of chips. The menu also has a decent selection of beef.We don't normally have a dessert but the food had been so good and we both found something that sounded too good to miss so we did. I had the Lemon Curd Tart and my partner the Apple Tatin. It was really worth breaking our normal rule for.Service was excellent throughout. This is a bit out of the way for us coming from Surrey and mainly being in Westminster or The City but it is walkable from Tower Bridge underground, just past St Katherine's Dock so very accessible. There is no doubt we will be returning to try some of the other very tasty sounding offerings on the menu.

Sister restaurant to one in Ongar, surely the only venue of any significance in that non-place at the end of a non-railway from Epping Smith’s is an ultra-modern temple to the gastronomy of fish perched beside the Thames at Wapping in full view of Tower Bridge. From a well-stocked set menu I began with such a good retro prawn cocktail it felt as if had never gone out of favour. Unlike rival versions it had a good proportion of shrimp to lettuce leaves, in short many of the former but not much of the latter. And two complete large prawns on the side all ready for dissection. As a main a generous fillet of hake was clothed in samphire and with which baby new potatoes suited well. A dessert of mango and passion fruit glory was entirely appropriately named. My only regret choosing an all-too-sweet rose to accompany it all.

26/10/2020: It’s gone down a lot since the Days of Ron snd reg . Silly prices now but they can charge what they like as its a tourist attraction . If you see the film legend there’s some good shots on the inside . Anyway not on my bucket list till they pull themselves together as it used to be great . I think they will.
