The service was absolutely fantastic and a big thank you to a young lady I think her name was tishka she looked after us from start to finish all was on hand

After initially being told we had to be off our table within two hours, despite the fact that we were settling in for a long lunch, the maître d managed to move things around and we were able to retain our table, for a fantastic meal and a great afternoon. Many thanks.

Always fabulous. They cook fish so well. Staff are great. It was very loud - lots of Christmas and birthday diners so it was difficult to chat. Not really Smiths’ fault but made it slightly less enjoyable than usual

My daughter and I enjoyed the festive menu at a pre Christmas lunch get together, we both enjoyed the tempura prawns followed by sea bass and haddock which as usual was cooked to perfection and to finish the melting chocolate cake which was sublime. Warmly welcomed by friendly professional staff. Highly recommended

Date of visit: Wed 30/10/2024 The service and hospitality was amazing. The atmosphere and ambience were also really nice. I started off with the smoked salmon starter. It didn’t quite fit my personal preference as I don’t quite like fully smoked fish, but it was perfect (it couldn’t have been any better). This was because the salmon had just the right texture and a lovely smoky taste. The dressing also went really well with it. So I swapped starters with my mum and had the tempura prawns instead. Everything was perfect about that starter apart from there not being enough sauce. For my main, I had plaice. It was perfectly cooked with a lovely seasoning. This sort of fish isn’t really my personal preference but it could not have been better. Finally, for my dessert, I had an apple crumble. Everything was cooked to perfect textures. However, as nice as it was, the apple was not rich and sweet enough and the crumbs lacked some flavour. Unfortunately, at 17, I have had much better at my school.

The whole experience was exceptional, from the moment we arrived until the second we left. Probably the best seafood meal I have ever had. The cod Teryaki was truly fantastic.

We had a wonderful lunch at Smith’s, the menu is very well crafted and the quality of the food outstanding. The location overlooking the Thames is brilliant, the staff are very welcoming, friendly and professional, which helped to make the whole occasion perfect.

Every aspect was excellent apart from ONE thing - the menu’s - I hate digital /I-pad menu’s ! A restaurant of this standard and class I would expect a nicely presented paper based hard bound menu- so much nicer and classier ! Alternatively offer both !

Llegó a las 14: 15 según la reserva para que nos dijeran que la mesa no estaba lista y no podíamos entrar en el salón / bar, ya que estaba lleno, así que se le dijo que tomara asiento en el pasillo frío. Se sentaron durante 15 minutos mientras numerosos grupos grandes entraban y eran llevados a sus mesas. Claramente, los grandes grupos eran más rentables que nosotros dos. No hay señales de que nuestra mesa esté ordenada, así que nos fuimos. Claramente no tienen interés en sus clientes mientras la caja suene no se moleste en volver. Fuimos a Randall’s & Aubin en el Soho la noche siguiente increíble servicio al cliente fabulosa comida muy recomendable.

Great food again as always. But the waiter was very abrupt when asked a question he suggested to us to wait to order side dishes after. He assumed wrongly what was being asked and should have listened to the question first before answering. He did apologise for his error which happens. But he was a bit robotic !!

Smiths is our goto restaurant for Sunday lunch We are more local to the Ongar restaurant but its worth the drive to Wapping

Overall, everything was nice, but the taste of the baby potato was strange, as if it were old and reheated. No sauce accompanied the Halibut dish, a bit dry.

It was Christmas party season and the place was packed but this had no effect on the service or food both were excellent Ally our waiter was excellent. With out doubt the best fish restaurant in London.

Overall ok to good, saved by our very good waitress and view. Arrived on time for a 5.30 table to say there was still people in the lounge for lunch service! Was 20 mins untill we sat at our table. Service felt a bit rushed, clearly had 7.30/8 bookings. The food was a little better than OK but I’ll probably forgotten what I has in a month or two. I’m not sure it’s worth the money they charge. Wapping get away with it due to their proximity to London, I think I’d have been more disappointed if it was their Ongar restaurant. I think it’s lost its charm. Next time I’ll try Ongar.

I’ve not been before. Our party of 4 all enjoyed our food, wine and service. All things considered I think pretty good value. Great location and all staff helpful and courteous.

An ex-colleague recommended Smiths of Wapping and as it was my turn to organise our ‘Lads Lunch’ I booked a table for five with a window table overlooking the River Thames. The welcome was smooth and we were shown to the bar area until our table was available (we were a bit early). We chose the lunch menu which was a fixed price of £47 for three courses. The considered opinion of our group was that the food was excellent. Although the menu is heavily loaded towards seafood, there was sufficient meat and game alternatives to keep our group very happy. I would hope to return here at some point in the future and won’t hesitantly to recommend it to others. The only slight irritation for our group was the background noise from what was a very busy restaurant which made conversation a little difficult at times.

We spent our early anniversary there. The food was cooked to perfection. Our waiter was great and the view was amazing.

Absolutely loved our evening. Service was on point from the moment we arrived to when we said farewell. Food was equally good. The duo of soft shell crab and king prawn tempura was delightfully light and super tasty. Unfortunately, my wife’s miso glazed black cod was even nicer. Mains of Hake and Turbot were wonderful all washed down with the guest white wine Costal Reach, Bacchus. A terrific English white wine find.

An excellent experience. We had a great table overlooking the river and Tower Bridge. We had the set lunch menu which had plenty of choice. And the price overall was excellent value for money.

The food was beautifully presented My favourite dish the bass ceviche looked pretty and tasted wonderfully fresh with the crispy shallots adding texture. All the staff we met were very attentive, friendly and made us feel relaxed. We will definitely be returning.

We have visited this restaurant many times for family celebrations and other events. The food is always exceptional, matched by friendly , courteous, informative and helpful staff. Good wine list and lovely decor , I can never find fault with anything here . I would highly recommend Smiths, it’s not cheap but this restaurant is a great example of you get what you pay, all round great place for excellent fish and seafood.

Another fantastic meal at Smiths Wapping for my mums birthday meal. The food was exceptional as always, the restaurant was very busy for a Tuesday lunchtime but this made for a lovely lively atmosphere and the Christmas decorations looked very nice. The only disappointing thing was that we felt a bit rushed, I believe we had a trainee waiter as the the service was not at its usual level and as soon as we had finished one course we felt rushed to have the next without much breathing space. The waiter was very friendly and was trying hard but the inexperience showed but we all have to start somewhere and he did try his best. Overall a great treat.

Restaurant is absolutely amazing. Staff are all lovely and the food is sensational. Couldn’t have asked for anything to be better. The price is definitely worth it for the experience received. My water was always filled and there was always something offered to me e.g. bread or another drink, etc. One of my favourite restaurants and will definitely be going back.

We had an evening booking and looked out over the Thames and Tower Bridge,which looks great at night. There is so much choice,you’ll always find something that’s perfect for you. Staff are helpful and will help with your choices (I’m a wine idiot and I don’t know much about anything like that) We were recommended a wine that wasn’t the most expensive,so they actually thought it was the right one,and I reckon it was it was lovely.

This was our second visit this year,we come in February which was fantastic so my wife booked last night for my Birthday..The whole evening from start to finish was outstanding,great table,looked after by amazing staff & the food was outstanding.. Can’t recommend enough..

Starter was amazing. Main not so good, being a special dish I was expecting it to taste better than it did. Fish was too dry and quite tough around the edges. Service was good and waiters very attentive although at times trying too hard to oversell.
