Have passed by many times and dropped by for some poultry feed and to look at what was on offer. Basically not a lot. Limited range in shop which was overpriced. Restaurant or more like basic cafe was nearly empty and lacking character. To cap it all the owner was extremely rude and certainly does not know how to attract new customers. will not be going back !

Staying at the campsite again but the café is open to everyone! Pre paid all day breakfast for 4 adults. Local fresh ingredients which set us up for the day! Two sausage, two eggs, two bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, black pudding, beans, toast with tea / coffee or orange juice … smaller options available! Good service - what’s not to like! Use it or lose it.

Café was great for breakfast. The men has the biggest breakfasts there was and needed a mid morning snooze afterwards! The scones were a little dry but came with plenty of butter. They have a lot of events on so worth checking out. Farm shop was low on stock but there again with a storm babette here you wouldn’t want to be overstocked. Plenty of locally sourced produce. Would return and recommend. Friendly staff and clean.

We had noticed on an earlier visit how good the breakfasts looked so my husband was keen to try. Fortunately the breakfast is sold all day so we ordered it for lunch. We werent disappointed. Everything was freshly cooked . The eggs were golden yellow , the bacon and sausages delicious. . My bacon bap was also delicious with plenty of local bacon. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It was such good value we decided we will definitely be back to have again

Supported Smile Cafe for several years. On last visit ordered lunch for us plus coffee and tea. Our toddler had his own food. This was reported to owner Colin by waitress. Owner came out to us visibly angry and aggressive saying he runs a business and signs saying you cannot eat your own food. Pointed out we had ordered lunch and drinks. Very poor and never been back. But just one experience and prior to the incident a regular destination.

Was absolutely gutted.. ordered afternoon teas for two adults who were isolating to cheer them up.Wish I'd made them a packed lunch myself when I saw what had been made, the "afternoon tea" consisted of a handful of finger sandwiches (suitable for children!)about 8 crisps,2 small scones with jam+butter and 2 pitiful cubes of cake all for £17.50..sorry but I've had twice that amount for £20 elsewhere which also included a hot or cold drink,I was embarrassed to deliver it!.. won't waste my money there again!!!!

Just stayed on the campsite for a week, meeting up with family from a distance with our two touring caravans. After a friendly welcome and the luxury of adjacent pitches we enjoyed a lovely quiet site with excellent facilities and 16 amp. power supply to each pitch. The on site farm shop supplied lots of food essentials plus LPG cylinders if required. The Cafe does excellent breakfasts, a great break from cooking. All the staff had a friendly and helpful attitude which made for a great break. A good centre for the Wolds, York (with all of its various attractions), Pocklington itself and the nearby Elvington Air Museum. The day that we visited Elvington there was drag racing taking place - very entertaining. We will return - thank you for a great stay...

Me and my friend visited the smile cafe on Thursday with our babies and toddlers, I brought a nappy bag and a water bottle that I refill with tap water every day and take everywhere with me so that I'm not buying plastic bottles all the time.. better for the environment etc. With my purse in my hand we was all quing up to buy lunch and coffee when a man (one of the owners I think) suddenly appeared in my face and shouted 'you can't do that!' I was shocked and confused and answered 'sorry, can't do what?' to which he shouted 'you just can't do that! You have a bottle of water, we sell water here you cant just bring your own in, where a business!!' I explained that I haven't just bought it elsewhere and brought it in, I fill it up at home and take it with me everyday, to which he shouted at me again 'it's not on! I'm clamping down on this now!' 1: I didn't even have the bottle in my hand it was on my bag on the table 2: I had my purse in my hand quing up to buy 6 lots of food, I didn't just walk in and drink my tap water and then try to leave! 3: He told me off like we was in school, it was utterly humiliating and shocking and it made me and my friend so upset and uncomfortable that we told our children to put back their lunch boxes they had chosen so we could leave, as we didn't want to stay a minute longer. As we was leaving, a lady from a table across the room approached me to say how angry and shocked her and her friend was at what they just heard, she very kindly wanted to check I was ok and said they fill up their bottles with tap water too. I understand you are a business and I would understand if I had walked in with a pack up full of food, but I had some tap water and was about to spend £60 on food and coffees between me and my friend. What hurts the most is that I have been a regular customer since my first chilen was born nearly 4 years ago, coming atleast twice a month and buying food and coffee every time. Then the fact the man felt it appropriate to verbally attack a woman attempting to hold a baby and help a toddler choose his lunch box and pay, rather than waiting and quietly taking me to one side and saying it politely? It is no exaggeration that he shouted and pointed his finger in my face angrily. After the years I've brought my children/ friends/ family to the smile and the money I've spent there and then that happens, I will certainly never be going again and it's such a shame. Utterly shocked and disappointed!

I visit smile cafe with my two children at least once a month to meet friends for lunch and coffee as it has a good selection of indoor and outdoor play equipment for 0-5s. I have also held my son’s parties here. I have previously been impressed by the food options for adults and children and the friendliness of the staff. However, on this occasion, as we were queuing up to buy food after paying for our children to play, my friend was shouted at for carrying a water bottle in her pram. I also always carry a water bottle for myself, as well as toddler and baby cups of water to have as well as buying hot drinks and food for myself and my children. This is to limit the impact to the environment and ensure that I have enough drinks for them throughout the day. Most cafes now provide a refilling station for water or are happy to oblige when I ask to fill up my baby’s cup or my son’s water bottle with tap water. I could not believe it when the manager shouted at my friend in front of other customers that she was not allowed her water bottle in there and that she had to buy his bottled water despite waiting to buy food and hot drinks. We left immediately and will not be returning and will be letting our local NCT group know what happened as this was always our place to meet. I’m very disappointed as the management are clearly not forward thinking when it comes to limiting their impact on the environment and providing what families require.

We visited with children. Our toddler, an adolescent and pre-teen. We were first told to get off the play equipment outside because of mud. Next we were chided for muddy boots (which we removed) and then chided in the restaurant for our oldest daughter - who giving us a rest- taking the toddler around the soft play. because she is not an adult she is considered too old. Believe me she wasn't going around the tiny soft play area for her own pleasure. It felt awkward and the waitress was just this side of rude. We ended up leaving as this was our second visit and we have eaten the food before. its ok but not worth putting up with the attitude. The first visit was a bit better so its fair to say maybe we got the staff on a bad day but I wouldn't go again.

Lovely little cafe, gorgeous cakes and great service. The play area is fantastic for young children and because the cafe is reasonably small, you can let you children play whilst you have a drink and are able to see them all the time. Much safer for young children than the big ‘play barns’. The outside play area is also fantastic on a lovely sunny day. A definite place to visit if you’re in the area as the attached farm shop has some great local produce in it too.

The shop and cafe had everything you need after a day walking around a beautiful area of the country with endless amounts of walks. The staff were very helpful nothing was too much trouble. We had 2 dogs with us and were made very welcome by the staff and the owners. The owner pointed us in the direction of good local food places that would take dogs and we were very satisfied with them all. The site was at a good price so we will be going there again. We have been once before with my one year old and had a nice experience, went again this morning and it wasn't very good. Approached the counter a young lad greeted me and started taking my order, then a guy appeared and just started talking over me and the lad then proceeded to take his order instead, I guess they may of been halfway through it but feel this should of been mentioned to me before mine was began as I felt awkward. The lad did apologise for this after and I went on to order a chicken bacon and brie panini for my husband, then I asked if the Brie and cranberry panini that was on the menu, could I have that one for myself but with chutney instead of cranberry, also ordered an omelette for my son. It did take a while to come out but they were busy so we accepted that, unfortunately when it did come out my sons vege sticks that were supposed to come with his omelette were missing and my panini had big chunks of chicken in it, which luckily I noticed before eating as I'm vegetarian. By this time my son was getting tired and it was frustrating to have to wait longer. We weren't offered any sauces with our food and when mine came back out without chicken, it was more like a sandwich as the Brie wasn't very cooked, and I felt it had been cooked on a tray or in a panini maker that hadn't been wiped down after previously being used to cook something with meat on it, as it tasted that way to me which was off putting. My husband did enjoy his panini no complaints there apart from not offering sauces and we couldn't see any about. The menu is a mix of reasonable things and then stuff that seems overpriced like two eggs on toast £4.95. I think it may of been a while since the soft play area has had a good wipe down as it felt a bit grubby. It's a nice place but we didn't have the best experience today, which is a shame as we don't live far away and would of liked to go more regularly, but today's visit wouldn't encourage us to do so.

Popped in for a snack with 6 friends and the lady preparing the food was very stressed after our order. I only had a slice of fruit cake (delicious) was supposed to come with cheese but didn't. My friend just said the bread could have been presented better. The chef came over and said we should complain to her if we weren't happy and then started to have a go at my friend. She was extremely rude in front of us all and does not know about customer service, as you don't speak to customers rudely like that. If you can't stand the heat don't work in a kitchen.

Which we complied with I would however suggest that serving cash customers may take precedence over chatting to your mates, we went into Pocklington and found somewhere lovely to have lunch.

Close parking, outdoor play area, indoor soft play safe and secure for the kids to play, home cooked food made onsite and a quirky farm shop with your usual bits and pieces and also some novelty bits to gift or keep for yourself! For me the indoor soft play area is a must for the uk in winter, you can keep an eye on little one at all times whilst enjoying a coffee and cake or something more from their menu. The kids lunch box option is fantastic. If you have toddlers in the Pocklington, Stamford Bridge or Market Weighton area it’s definitely a place to visit.

No pulverizar.

Staying at the caravan site at the rear of here. Had their small breakfast at £5.50 which included coffee. I'm not one for sausages but they were really tasty as was the bacon. You can sit in the main cafe where there is a children's play area which I think it costs £1, or you can sit in the farm shop area if you want it quieter. There are tables outside and an outdoor play area for kids which is fenced for safety. Would recommend here especially if you want to keep kids entertained.

The sausages here are especially delicious. The staff are all welcoming and friendly. I dragged along the whole family on one visit I was so impressed and both young and old we have no complaints. Sitting outside on a sunny bright day was especially relaxing whist the children played on the equipment. I'd say the inside play area is more for 3 years and under but the outside is easily suitable for older children. My 6 year old was begging to go back when he heard I'd sneaked back there with the younger one! Highly recommended. There is a nice farm shop too where we bought some lovely eggs and bacon. The burgers are devine and come of a local butcher in Pocklinton called Burtons who are well known in the area for their meats being of high quality. As much as I like meat my favorite thing to have is the veggie burger......all I can say is Yummy. The beef burgers are exceptionally good as are the homemade soups.

The only complaint I have is on leaving and getting in my car I smell of a cafe as the ventilation wasn't brilliant. It was very good value for money. This is a new and much needed venture, expanding from the well established Mile Farm Shop on the outskirts of Pocklington. The menu offers Breakfast & Brunch; Lite Bites; plus a Children's Menu - and is also available for Private Parties. The interior is very pleasant and has a separate Disabled Access entrance. Its great popularity is that it is "Children Friendly", the interior having an inflatable play cage, whilst outside there is a paddock with play equipment. All are set in a very safe environment. The range of food reflects the different ages of customers and, from personal experience, is tasty and good value for money. The Staff are very friendly and efficient, and there is ample parking space. No other establishment in the Pocklington area offers a facility like this and the Proprietors, Jo and Colin, are to be congratulated for developing a successful niche business opportunity.
