Outstanding haddock and chips!!! Very fresh, hot and deeeelicious!! Highly recommend for a reasonably priced dinner out in Aviemore.

One of the best haddock and chips I've ever had (seriously). Staff seemed a bit under the weather, but other than that highly recommended. Reasonably priced considering the excellent quality as well. Shop interior very well looked after, very clean and well attended.

Cafeteria style, help yourself to cutlery, clean your own tables.. in the expensive side, but what isn't in Aveimore... It filled a hole... Fish was nice and fresh

Moved to Inverness 3yrs ago from central belt West. Had tried several chippies up north but they can't seem to do battered fish without being greasy. This place has the best battered fish I have tasted in the North. Others also commended the pizza & sausage. Staff very friendly & helpful. Food made fresh & great value light bite deals with include drink & curry/gravy/peas. Will definitely be back. Sorry scoffed the lot before could take pics.

Our go to fish and chip stop in Aviemore when we heading south. Great to sit in and enjoy the tasty fish. Portions are always good serving. Staff are all friendly and helpful.

Pricey and functional. Food was ok, chips weren't great but decent portion. Certainly not a cozy place in winter. Staff really friendly though. Free ketchup was like vinegar, pay 50p a sachet for anything decent!? When necessary it's fine is best I can say.

The fish & chips are great; large portions, the hot chocolate is good, too. The place is hygienic, the staff are nice. The only problem is that the price seems to be increasing every year. It's getting quite expensive.

On a long journey from Torridon to Perth we stopped off here as I knew it was a good chippy. Very friendly, polite service. Sat in to eat. Nice and clean. Toilets immaculate. Had special fish and chips, my partner had fish in batter. Both meals were huge, cooked fresh and were delicious.

Went here on recommendation of my wife and her friends who ate in here the previous night. So good. Absolutely loved it. Really nice atmosphere, very high end for a fish and chip shop. Friendly attentive staff, prompt service, good price and most importantly the best sausage supper I've ever had. I'll be back - possibly as soon as tomorrow on my way back home. One word? Legendary.

Had fish and chips and there was nothing to fault. The place was clean and the staff was helpful. They have self dispensing water machine (which I’ve rarely seen) and dips too. A portion of fish (haddock) and chips costed around £10 with tartar.

Stopped in when passing through Aviemore as we'd heard good things and we weren't disappointed. Had takeaway fish and chips and it was fantastic. Not greasy in the slightest, served with a little bit of lemon and a small portion of tartar sauce. Decent sized portion with 2 pieces of fish , reasonably priced at £10.95. Staff were friendly and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it !

Very good fish and chips , shop very clean and good looking inside . They serve free water / ketchup and brown sauce . Meal for 2 was 25£ . Mushy pees and tartar sauce are home made. Recommended when you in Aviemore

Very good steak pie and chips! The chips had a bit of a crunch to them and the stake pie had a large amount of steak in it. The bunch for £8.50 also came with a little pot of gravy which was fantastic. My friend had fish and said it was very nice as well as the tartare sauce. 4/5.

One of the best fish and chips I have had. The fish was so flakey when I cut into the batter. Chips were fat and lovely. Good portion size. It was very filling. Although it would Have been nice to have ketchup or Mayo available. Sachets were available for 50p but personally I like it to be available when sitting in and eating. Staff friendly, I liked the free water and cups. It was lunch time and quite busy.

A very busy chippy that then obviously ensures freshly made food. I had the fish and chips with mushy peas. We ate on the premises, and the fish batter was lovely and crispy and went well with the chips and mushy peas.

5 star. Superb fish and chips. Everything freshly prepared and they even have a bleeper system to notify when your food is ready.

It's not a bad chippy. It is however, frightfully overpriced for what it is. As a side note, charging for sauce sachets and not providing their own homemade sauces is bizarre. Staff are very nice and helpful.

On our recent visit to Aviemore, we had tea at smiffys both evening's as our 9-year-old will not eat restaurant food. We found this amazing chippy in Aviemore we live near Anstruther in fife and this chippy is on par with Anstruthers famous chippys I highly recommend smiffys chippy.

Had the chips, nuggets, and fillets. It was delicious. Can drinks were available. They used the pager/ beeper device to keep your place in line. So you can take a seat and set your table.

Had fish n chips here last night and was a reasonable portion 1&1/4 fish with chips for the price I expect at least 1&1/2 and good portion of chips but was still nice would recommend free chips shop sauce Can diet Bru £1.60 here’s a Bonus the place was Spotless

Perfect place to stop when traveling to Inverness. plenty of parking go to the retail stores then Walk back toilets are available inside shop and outside on the main street, staff will bring your order to your table. otherwise order and collect outside and you will be notified with an electronic pager . food is really tasty 😋😋

Yeah, all good here. Fresh and tasty. Typical Scottish chippy. Haddock was lovely. My only bugbear, 50p for a big sachet of sauce, even for the ketchup.

Decent place to grab some fish and chips, probably the best fish I had tastes in a long while. Like all chippies, the chips were average but overall lovely meal. Quite on the expensive side, but given that the meal was nice then it didn't matter.

Decent chippy, is what you’re wanting after doing a big trek up a munro, a little on the expensive side but so is everything these days. Staff were incredibly polite and cheerful. The fish supper couldn’t be faulted. Only annoying thing is sauces are charged at 50p a packet. All in all a good chippy and would recommend.

Overpriced. £11.60 for sausage supper, curry sauce and a soft drink (sit in). Chips were undercooked and curry sauce wasn’t great. Service was good though. Very quick and easy, server took it over to my table for me

Will forgive the typo in the business name as this was hands down bums up the best chippy I've had all week so far. My partner said it was so good she was going to rip out her guts and wallop me with them. 5 thumbs up. Also free ketchup, top class. It wasn't Hellman's but Heinz is a solid all rounder, can't go wrong. If I'm ever back in Aviemore and hungry and feel like a fish supper I'll in all likelihood be coming back.

Lots of football fans arrived, which must have been a surprise yet the coped really well and the food was excellent as we're the staff

Beautiful atmosphere, but quite expensive especially when you get fish served in bits. Edit: Apologies, I deleted the latter half of my review now because my baby daughter also got sick and she did not have your food. I have updated, I still think it was expensive for average food, but every single restaurant on our holiday in Aviemore was overpriced, I guess this is just to fleece tourists.

worst chip shop i’ve ever been to🤣 oil dripping from a chicken fillet that was realistically a chicken burger and tasted awful, steak pie was 100% a shop bought pie, paid £20 for a supper and a pie that i’ve only ate the chips, will definitely not be back!

Agree with others, best fish supper I've had, a lovely succulent thick piece of haddock. Chips were tasty and was a massive portion. Only down side was not enough vinegar compared to weegie chippys.

The worst fish and chips I've ever had. Very greasy and they forgot items in our order.

I must admit the prices are expensive especially their fish and chips which is good. Its so easy to get to this place from train station turn right follow the road or pavement along the shops till you see mountain warehouse and your at chip shop next to where Trespass used to be. This chip shop is busy and new bleep device they give you due to the covid-19 pandemic is pretty good service. The staff are friendly and it's kept clean. The quality of food is good as long as you get it fresh. The chips can be a hit and miss at times. Their quarter pond cheese burger is so good. All.in all pretty good chip shop with new bleeping device!

The food is fantastic here just a shame the staff are ignorant and seems to be a huge issue to put your own salt and vinegar on your food manners cost nothing!!!

I had a wonderful haddock supper this evening. The haddock was fresh and cooked to perfection in a batter that was crispy but still moist. The chips were great quality and a good size portion, well worth the money. The optional lemon wedge and tartare sauce is always a nice touch. The service was quick and friendly. I highly recommend Smiffy’s, I have been returning when on holiday for many years and will continue to do so.👏👏

This is a busy place at peak time but, the friendly, efficient staff are productive at getting the orders through. The food was great, lovely fresh fish and the other dishes were nicely prepared and everything was tasty. Keep up the good work.
