Had a lovely smokie and chips last night

Food was absolutely delicious, everyone said they really enjoyed it. Thank you ever so much. We travelled down from wick (far north of Scotland) and are staying close by.

Much needed food source for takeaways around the area at this time of year its slim pickings travelled from Lecht for food and back. A little pricey and sizes not amazing and a little bit of a wait for you food (but it hot) for hungry bellies. But take away is takeaway.

Amazing chippy. Food is always fresh and the best pudding suppers you can get. Jodie is a legend and done me a favour and deep fried me a caramel egg which was unreal. 10/10 would recommend

A lovely chip shop owned by such a nice couple, staff really friendly and a wide selection on menu. Only two down points I would say it the gravy is quite tasteless and clumpy doesn’t take like Bisto at all and hasn’t got that smooth texture. Chips were a bit stale if cooked and sat for too long so maybe just cook to order when quieter I’m sure people wouldn’t mind waiting longer for a fresh fried chips!

The best fish and chips I've had in a long time! The batter is light and crispy, the fish is fresh and the onion rings are to die for! None of your frozen onion rings here, these are home made with the same light and crispy batter and well worth trying.

At 16.45pm bought chips to try as we intended ordering 4 fish suppers following evening. Chips were inedible. Chucked straight in bin!!! Clearly not fresh so I guess they were leftovers from previous evening. Two utterly tiny picked onions added at 70p (35p each) Never again! Would not recommend

Visiting from the south and we were really disappointed with the food - chips were really undercooked and the burger had just been thrown together with lettuce that was not fresh. We didn’t even bother eating it.

Incomplete order. The food was nice but the naan bread that came with our curry was not in the bag. No point returning to the shop cos the rest of the food would have been cold. Disappointing to have paid for something and it not be there.

Fantastic chipper!! First time visiting whilst up seeing friends will definitely return. One of the best chippers I have had. 10/10.

We spent the day in the Cairngorms and headed home past the Speyside Fish & Chip Shop. It was busy, we were served promptly. Four of us all ordered something different, fish, premium chicken nuggets, white pudding & a chicken burger, all with chips! Fantastic, tasted delicious, will definitely be back. Would highly recommend stopping by!

Waited for 30 minutes in the queue to be told at the counter there was no fish. No smile. No apology. All and all it took 40 minutes waiting in the shop for our food

Terrible fish and chips ! I do not know why it can survive in this small community! If you are tourist like me and first time to come here , please avoid this shop! It costed me £12.20 for a tiny fish which is large one on the menu! In Edinburgh , Glasgow or Aviemore it is just around £10 for a large fish supper ( probably the fish size is double) ! The fish and chips are greasy and dry ! The fish is over cooked and not fresh as well!

i found service absolutely dreadful , perhaps it was a busy time , but it was chaos , also if you like burnt food , just return , i will not return

The fish was delicious, but the fries were honestly not good at all. Rather soggy and felt like they were sitting there for hours despite a lot of clients in the shop. No sauce comes with your dish except if you order the ones from the tube.

A colleague and I were working in the area and pulled in here by chance. The place was spotlessly clean. Staff were well turned out and pleasant. Portions were good. I hade the Scampi and my colleague had the fish. Very tasty. I'd have no problems recommending this place and will def go there again.

I had the large cod and chips which was freshly made and really good. The lady who owns the restaurant is really friendly and helpful and was able to give great tips on where to visit in the surrounding area too. Highly recommend for a great fish supper.

Just had a most delicious piece of cod with chips this afternoon. Everything was cooked from fresh. and the batter was very light and crispy and tasted amazing. At busy times, there might be a wait, but it is well worth it for tasty freshly made food. As a bonus, today it was quieter and we managed to have a chat with the owner who gave great advice on places to go and see. Fantastic! 😊

This chip shop do the best battered sausage's I have ever had. Staff are fantastic, The new owners are friendly professional at running there chippy. Would also highly recommend the burgers.

Have used this take away serval times now the food is always very good. The service is always pleasant and they are always a decent time considering how busy they are usually. We are a large family with lots of different orders all at once the food is always correct and any problems always handled quickly. Excellent experience everytime.

The staff was nice and the fish and chips (with cheese) was large and delicious. There are few seat places inside. I recommand this restaurant.

Great service. Great value. Great product. We had cod, a cheeseburger an two regular fries with salt and vinegar. It all tasted great, was prepared fresh and hot. The ladies behind the counter were very friendly. Recommended 100%.

Horrendous! Chips were not fresh but old, dried up and bitter tasting. Unsure why the server feels this is good enough to serve up? Should have realised it was going to be crap when it was empty on a Saturday evening.

Had the most delicious piece of Halibut tonight. (Not something you often see in Fish & Chip shops.)The batter was very light and crispy, the fish so fresh and tasted amazing. Have had the Scampi & Chips before and Haddock & Chips, all were lovely and fresh and cooked well. At busy times, there is a wait, but if you want fresh food that’s cooked to order, that is to be expected. In my opinion, it’s well worth the wait! We shall be back to sample more of the extensive menu.😊

Dreadful! I’d read reviews first, they mentioned friendly staff, crispy batter and that the small portion of chips was ‘not so small’ so that’s what I ordered. No sign of there being a small fish on the menu, so I expected a nice crisp fish with a fairly decent portion of chips for my £9.60. So, my experience was that staff were ok, the fish was tiny (much smaller than any fish I’ve been served before anywhere). It was also overcooked, dry as a bone and with no hint of crispness to the batter whatsoever. Chips were ok, but again not a hint of anything crispy, and the portion was indeed a small portion. The peas were ok, but the fact that at least 2 people who went in and ordered after me got their orders before me also did not go down very well! I was just about to ask if they had forgotten my order when it was called. I will not be going back.

We've just had a chippy from the 'Speyside Fish and Chips' shop in Grantown on Spey. *AMAZING!!* I had a chicken breast in batter with a small portion of chips (not so SMALL!!) The batter was beautiful and crisp but not greasy and the chicken was cooked to perfection and just melted in the mouth. The chips were just right, not too hard or greasy and obviously cooked in fresh oil. Because the prices were so reasonable I even had them throw in a couple of pickled onions!!  My husband enjoyed his chips and 'All steak Pukka pie' (you can't go wrong with a 'Pukka' pie) The best chippy we've had in the valley and equally as good as our favourite chippy in Kirkby Town Center by Liverpool. I only wish they sold large 'Chop Suey Rolls' up here in Scotland .... My absolute favourite!! The staff were so helpful and friendly too. We took it down and ate it at the side of The Spey on a beautiful evening, a wonderful experience all together.

Chip portion was tiny and very dry. But I could overlook that. We bought 2 battered sausages at 2.60 each and had to throw both. There was a piece of yellow and a piece of green string through both of them, imbedded in the batter. No idea where or what is was doing there, but put us right off the food. Would not recommend.

We popped in for some chips and was happy to see some vegan options in there. Friendly service and reasonable prices too. Food was good and chips were not greasy, would come back.

Decent prices here and a good range too. Good portions of haddock and very tasty too. Chips less good. Most frustratingly they forgot to add salt and vinegar to the chips and we were back in our accommodation when we realised. Grrrr!!

The best fish supper I’ve ever had. Went for a cod and chips. Fish was meaty and tasty, batter was perfect and the chips were not too fatty or too salty. The peas were fantastic to - just the right amount of mint. No idea about the service as my partner placed the order, but apparently they were great.

Price ok, size of Cod ok, from the colour of it, it looks like cooking oil is fresh. Taste ok, chips are not bad. Blonde lady was nice and friendly. It took 10 minutes only. Cant complaing.

Decent fish and chips takeaway. I got fish and chips and they take card or cash. They sell sauce sachets or bottles and I didn't have to wait that long. Looks very clean inside so I would go back here and try some other things they do.

Came here on a business trip a couple of times. The fish is fresh and tastes great. The service is exemplary and inclusive. If you're not from the area and you are looking for a place to eat then this is your best option. All the best guys.

Second time trying this fish & chip shop first time fish beautiful, chips however not so good. Second time chips exactly the same extremely dry. Prices for a small bottle of water £1.50 overpriced which is such a shame, small tub of garlic Mayo for battered mushrooms charged £1.80. Overpriced I think.

Eaten here several times now and the service and quality of food has been spot on. The Jumbo Cod is always freshly cooked and it's obvious that they regularly change the oil, as the chips are divine. The place is also spotlessly clean and very spacious so you can comfortably wait inside for your order. A definite perk in the current climate!

This is definitely the best chip shop I have ever used (and I have been to a lot!!). The food was fresh and the taste great, the shop was smart and clean, and the staff are all so friendly.
