You can’t have a fish supper that isn’t loaded with grease…. Oh yes you can, and you can get it here! Fish was awesome, as were the chips!

Great place to eat. Big portions. Seemed a really nice place and was quite busy but it didn’t take too long to be served. We sat in and people seemed to be enjoying their meals - would go back.

Well run and organised. Haddock was excellent and the batter was superb, not fatty at all. Yes it is pricey, but seems to be the going rate now.

I'm an italian with a family history of chippies in scotland and this is neither high quality nor good value for money. Its not the worst but its 100% not the best either especially for the prices.

It's the only place to go for amazing fish and chips.....its the best!!! Great service and the fish is the best I've ever had anywhere!! Generous sized portion of fish when you dine in.

Stopped here for a chippy tea after a day at Landmark with the kids. Overall the food was average, the price was very expensive, and most importantly/disappointingly…they don’t do chippy brown sauce!!

Best fish and chips in Aviemore. Nearly missed a train over a late order of scampi and they were absolutely amazing getting me on my way!

It was fine. Staff were great, food was alright. No one in because it was out of season.

Popped in for dinner and it was very busy but the staff let us order a takeaway and hop on a table if it came available. Which it did and our server spotted it too and raced to clean it for us and bring us our food plated. Food was really good, decent sizes and really reasonable prices.

Fantastic food, the service was great the only thing I could fault would be the continued use of the vibrating, epileptic fit inducing hand held rave device they gave you during the pandemic to know when to collect your order. This system should be removed and get back to social interaction with customers. Ie, calling out orders etc. Atmosphere was very quiet but that was likely just due to time of my visit.

Fast friendly service would definitely go back

Stopped on the way back from a football game in Dingwall for quick bite on route down the A9. Managed to park on street right outside for free. Staff really friendly and welcoming; wishing us a safe onward journey down the road when we left was a nice thoughtful touch. Food was spot on and served quickly, the indoor seating was clean and warm. Recommended.

Went twice on a recent trip. Fish was fresh, cooked to order, and cooked well, chips were crispy. Decent portion size. Restaurant was clean, great place to grab a quick bite.

Amazing place, best fish and chips I’ve had north of the English border…! We visit every year we come to Aviemore and never disappointed. Fresh, amazing food and always served with great customer care. Won’t go anywhere else when we visit the area. Decently priced and lots more than just fish and chips available. Usually a queue but it goes down quickly and availability to sit in.

Friendly staff welcomed us in to this lovely little fish and chip restaurant. The white pudding was to die for. Children tried the deep fried pizza and enjoyed. Clean and friendly restaurant and take away. Would definitely recommend.

If you're in Aviemore and want a reasonably priced meal then this is worth visiting. Great fish and chips and hot drinks. Simple but elcoming atmosphere and friendly staff.

Fantastic Fish & Chips for takeaway, amazing Tartare sauce too. Not cheap but very good quality made them more value for money.

Best fish & chips in the greater Inverness area. Usually a 5 star all round but the young girl that served me during my latest visit was pretty rude to me. However, this is the first time this has happened. Hopefully not a standard for the place as it is usually awesome all round.

Popped in on my way back to hotel...had been walking all day with my dog.. quick service...lovely haddock and chips...I'm a chef myself and couldn't of done better...best takeout on the street .

Stopped here after a very long day's work. Served very quickly for takeaway. Staff very polite and efficient. Sausage super was very good. Crispy chips aswell. Would recommend 👌

We dine here all the time, and I can honestly say it's the best fish and chips you'll ever get!! I eaten at many places and to date this place serves the best!! And when you dine in, you get 2 pieces of fish, they are so generous on their servings. Great staff as well that serve you and nice modern and clean toilets!!

We had a take away x 2 portions of haddock and chips. Good quality and nice portions. Would’ve given 5 stars but the fish was a bit on the dry side and there was no tartare sauce despite ordering it.

Smiffy’s is definitely currently the best fish and chips place in the area. We popped in many times while we were back visiting our home. The toilets are fabulous and clean! Great place.

Fish&Chips wurden frisch gemacht und waren eine grosse Portion und okay, aber leider auch nicht mehr. Fisch vom Garpunkt einwandfrei, aber geschmacklos ebenso die Panade. Die Chips waren auch gut bis okay. Die frittierte Pizza hingegen war erstaunlich lecker. Restaurant und Toiletten waren sauber. Zum Satt werden eine gute Wahl zum Schlemmen nicht.

Food good shop was nice &spacious seating area, &staff friendly &helpful .Just a bit of a wait for the food but otherwise fine.

Man, oh man. Where do I start? Fresh fish, crispy chips (or fries), cozy atmosphere, helpful staff, huge portions, rapid service, what else do you need? We're on our road trip, but we've visited the place twice in a row. It's that good! Don't take the word of a tourist. Go and see how many locals frequent the place 🤣. Bon appétit!

Outstanding fish and chips are definitely the best in Scotland

Excellent food but service was just young uninterested kids that offered no help showed no interest in the customers. All too busy with their own stuff. Not even a smile or a thank you. Been here several times but I think that was the last.

Couldn't get in for a meal on our arrival evening time. Found Smiffy's, what a blessing. I had haddock + chips, husband and granddaughter had battered sausage and chips. They were delicious, in fact it was the best fish I had on the trip. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I am in no doubt that if we had spent more than 4 days in Aviemore we would have gone back. Food was hot, delicious and not greasy. Batter was crisp, fish melting in the mouth. Real chips, sausage tasty. Portions a good size and prices good.

The only place in the area where we went twice. There is not much choice in the area and it is difficult to reserve a table and expect good food and service however this place is worth the while. They even allow clients to have access to free water. The portions are correct and the place is clean and tidy and there is enough space to sit in or outside.

I ordered a haddock fish and chips and it was nice! The food came out relatively quick and the serving size was huge. Tartar sauce quantity for the amount of fish was a tiny downside but other than that, a great little establishment in the town you could go to when passing through.

Me and my wife got a chicken burger meal and it was the best tasting burger I've had since I've lived in Scotland absolutely gorgeous.

We had a lovely takeaway, that good the kids asked me to leave a review. The fish supper tasted so fresh and the extra half fish in the box was a bonus. The kids said it was the best pizza crunch they have ever had and the white pudding was perfect, everything was fresh, tasty and not greasy.

Wife & I are frequent visitors here on trips back South fae Caithness/Inverness

We wanted to eat here, but there was no sign of the shop. We walked back and forth down the main street trying to find it, but we think the shop location was covered by shutters. This was really disappointing as we'd checked online and it should've been open when we visited.

Had the haddock and chips. The haddock was nicely battered and cooked well. However, the chips were a letdown- seemed like left over bits and not freshly cooked- disappointing. Potions were generous though.

Very good fish and chips. 1 portion is £11.95 with chips, we shared 2 portions among 3 people as the size was quite substantial and we weren’t too hungry. Weren’t too greasy, there’s self service water and sauces available. Great place for a quick bite!

Excellent value fish & chips that were perfectly cooked. Fish was in a nice crispy batter and chips were crunchy. Gravy was fortunately lump free and very tasty. Service was faultless, with a really clean restaurant.

After a lovely day at the Wild Park we decided to experience the food boy we were not disappointed the battered fish was excellent my husband had the Haggis and said it was one of the best he had ever tasted.Service was excellent cleaned our table and left thinking we will return some day.Well done to you all.

Disappointed in the chips. Dry and so many thin crispy bits. Can any chip shop actually make decent chips like they used to be. Not a fan 9f the box, it spoils the taste. Won't be rushing back tbh.

A friendly and helpful couple who ran this Fish and Chip shop, We had the special Fish and chips meal, which was a generous portion of tasty Haddock and plenty of ‘proper chips’ The place is really clean with plenty of seats inside and outside. Well recommended, can honestly say this is the best fish and chips that we have had for a long time . We were on holiday in the area and they gave us some tips on some lovely walks nearby too.

One of the best haddock and chips I've ever had (seriously). Staff seemed a bit under the weather, but other than that highly recommended. Reasonably priced considering the excellent quality as well. Shop interior very well looked after, very clean and well attended.
