Had an early take away dinner here last week before catching the adjacent ferry- Ordered 3 fish and chips at £12 each. The lady serving was pleasant and said she’d ensure they’d be ready in time before we departed. Which they were. There were picnic tables adjacent to the shed with harbour views , but all were full. So we ate in the car. We were rather disappointed to find the chips looked like oven chips ( thin ad uniform) and the fish was coated in an orange crumb reminiscent of fish finges ! It was ok. But I would not recommend it if you are expecting proper fish and chips

We stopped here for lunch as we'd been to Armadale Castle and their cafe was closed. When we saw a takeaway shed we weren't expecting much but when our scampi chips and salad arrived we were really impressed - there must have been 4 different delicious salads on the plate and they were all really nice. We ordered a cake each for dessert and they were lovely too. There are picnic tables to eat at and if the weather is bad they can serve food in takeaway boxes to be eaten undercover. Fantastic views. What a great place!

Small cafe by the station and we had the scampi and Japanese prawns. Both were very good. We added salad to both and honestly i wasnt expecting much (than lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes) but it was a proper spread! Also had the ice cream which I collected later (as minimum card payment is £10) It would be tricky for some if they only wanted an ice cream or a drink but had no cash on them.

I was a little shocked that where the rest of the UK is asking for cash not to be used, and I am using card with no issue to buy my little girl 20p sweets, that there was a minimum spend of £10 for card payments. Even before Covid I had not seen this for a long time. Though the lady did allow me to use my card it was made clear she was not happy about this. Not the best service unfortunately and out dated policies which is a shame.

We've been here before in Summer when you can sit outside, but when the rain is coming sideways you have to be inside, which is tiny. However, everyone (staff and customers) seems to be friendly and nobody minds sharing tables, so it worked OK. Chips were good. I've been here a number of times while staying on Sleat, to have lunch or ice cream. It's small, but charming, with a great view across the water to the mainland, and the food is really, really good. The menu is based upon locally sourced ingredients, included freshly picked salad greens and terrific local seafood. My most recent meal there was memorable; a composed salad of fresh greens and flowers, fresh diced and marinated beets, and potato salad, covered with a generous portion of locally smoked trout, all accompanied by a choice of homemade dressings. A stroll out to the end of the pier to The Leather Shop makes for a perfect ending to the meal. Highly recommended.

Easy, all you have to do is not bother to butter the top of the teacake but put a lump of the cheapest margarine available on the bottom. It was approx 1/8 th of an inch thick. I felt sick. Also we didn't get the water for the dog that was promised. Cup of tea was like dish water too. Hubby's tuna sandwich was exactly the same. To quote Elizabeth B "Gorgeous Hot Chocolate" is one of the biggest overstatements. If you happy to drink cheap nasty watery hot chocolate then by all means come here. I would recommend anyone who wants to enjoy their hot beverage to go the Skye farm shop where you will get good service and a decent quality hot drink. The farm shop have a 'real' coffee machine and use fresh beans. The Shed as the name suggests a shed...probably from the nearest B&Q. The cafe if you can call it that is more a burger van with the prices of a top city restaurant. I'm not sure how they came up with their pricing strategy but the prices in no way reflect quality. For example one watery hot chocolate is £3.65 with no cream or marshmallows. Their food menu is just as expensive with prices up to £20!

While having a great chat to them we enjoyed some good coffee and then set about consuming two excellent bacon baps. After about 15 minutes everyone emptied out to catch the ferry to Mallaig and we had the place to ourselves. Was quite shocked at the food here, when I visited in November. I ate here 4 months previously, and had lovely fish and chips. I ordered fish and chips to take out, on this occasion. It was £5 for the fish, and £3 for the chips - quite pricey for a takeaway, but as it was good last time, I went with it. When I picked up the polystyrene container, it weighed virtually nothing. I opened it, thinking it may be empty, or only a fish, or just chips inside. Only a few chips in there and a skinny, very small rectangular piece of fish. Bit into the fish, which was virtually empty - less than 1cm of fish in it, and about the same in batter either side. It was clearly just a cheap, frozen portion of fish. Very annoyed, actually - felt completely ripped off. Chips were soggy, so fed them to the dog. I realise that in the winter, these places still have their overheads to pay. However, serving cheap crap food at exorbitant prices is not the way to get repeat business. I will not be going back, that's for sure.

Located right beside the pier at Armadale, this place has to be one of the most picturesque settings for a coffee. Looking out towards Knoydart on a beautiful sunny morning in October, we enjoyed our tea, coffee and ice cream. Given that it was a Friday morning in October there were a good few people there, so I imagine this would be a really busy spot in the summer.

We wanted a coffee and tea and thought that this looked to be a nice place to have it, in a nice location by the shore. However the staff were abrupt and rude and worst of all the tea and coffee was abysmal. They need to clean their equipment.

Had the freshest, crispy battered chips at the shed on the pier. Chips were ok, but well out shon by the fish.

The Shed is a real surprise. It looks like a tacky canteen style hut but it actually contains excellent food. Shed is located next to the Armadale-Mallaig ferry and makes for a great stop to eat on that route or indeed a good stop for those who happen to be in the area. The Shed is small. There are a couple of tables inside so indoor seating cannot be guaranteed. The decor is simple and unimposing. It is comfortable enough. Those sitting inside will never be more than a few feet away from those running The Shed so it is simple enough to get their attention and it feels almost as though the customer is a part of the conversation going on behind the counter. There is more seating outside with views to the ferry and across the Sound of Sleat towards Mallaig. If it isn't too wet then these are the favoured places to be.Takeaway is popular, ordered at the other side of The Shed. Many people seem to want just a coffee or just an ice cream. For those prepared to get stuck into a proper meal, The Shed is a pleasant surprise. There are three vegetarian options in this little place. It also serves seafood and more fast food options like burger and pizza but the better options are not the fast food ones. The more adventurous options come with excellent accompaniment. A range of beautifully fresh salad and herbs will appeal to any taste. Such a fine bonus to have simple food made so well thanks to the fresh and tasty adornment.Price like everywhere on Skye is a little higher than elsewhere. Given the quality, the value is good.

What a fantastic location. Sadly the promise of great sandwiches are destroyed by the use of the most terrible bread rolls, the crab is to die for, other aspects are great, however, more attention to the detail would give you a much better return. I hope this message is taken seriously.

I was here today for the first time, and had a chicken burger and chips. I had it as a take-away, but the seating area inside looks like a very inviting place to sit, with a nice view out to sea. I will definitely be back to have a sit-in meal next time. Their are also tables outside.I can honeslty say that it was probably the best chicken burger and chips I've ever had. It was a good quality chicken burger in a nice soft burger bun with nice salad, and the chips were first-rate french-fry style chips. They also have a selection of Fentiman's soft drinks which are great. I had the Curiosity Cola. Can't wait to go back!

The shed is a tiny restaurant with only three tables inside but lots of extra seating outside. We ordered a scampi and a Japanese style tempura prawns. The food came very quickly and was delicious. Both dishes came with chips and salad, and the salad was excellent, including spiced cous cous, edible flowers and home grown herbs.

Disappointed with the food we had. The chips were cold. Half of them was uneatable as they were too hard. The batter was slightly undercooked. Not sure if this place has changed hands, but the previous owner was very good.

We dine here all the time, and I can honestly say it's the best fish and chips you'll ever get!! I eaten at many places and to date this place serves the best!! And when you dine in, you get 2 pieces of fish, they are so generous on their servings. Great staff as well that serve you and nice modern and clean toilets!!
