Small Batch Coffee in Brighton and Hove

On arriving staff pleasant enough and acknowledge we were sitting next to the door that was an issue. During the 45 minutes we were there we had to close the door after ever customer in and out which was extremely annoying as the cold draft was bitter and made the stay uncomfortable. The worst thing was ever the staff left it wide open each time they used it, I did challenge one staff member who left it wide open and the reply was, we always leave it open which j thought was extremely inconsiderate given they acknowledge wd were dityunv by the faculty door. Would never recommend the small batch Co to anyone as staff are very none customer friendly nor focused.

I love this coffee, I popped in for an espresso and was greeted by three friendly guys behind the counter service was great really friendly and the coffee is to die for, i usually buy 250 g of ground coffee as well to take home, for my cafeteria

I invited my friend for a coffee to Small Batch at Seven Dials on Boxing Day. We sat by the table and my friend asked for white sugar ( very rude waitress ) said that they don’t have white sugar ( shocking fact, what coffee place doesn’t have white sugar? ...) My friend asked for brown sugar and she took it from one of the tables and threw it with attitude on our table. The girl had dyed blond hair and was quite young. It was shocking experience, I would expect higher standards from Small Batch.

I arrived with my 2 year old and sat her in a high chair only for a rude member of staff to come over and say she needs to get out of the chair as it’s reserved (no sign anywhere no one mentioned this when we sat down) they stood staring until I took her out of the chair. What sort of cafe in Seven Dials only has one high chair? We also waited ages for food and the staff were disgustingly rude when we asked if it was coming soon, in particular the manager rolled her eyes at us. A member of staff (female, brown hair, short fringe) was particularly vile. Made me feel so uncomfortable - will never be coming back, really upset about the whole ordeal.

Bonita cafetería con una pequeña selección de platos. El personal fue muy amable y el servicio super rápido. Sin embargo, no estoy seguro de por qué sirven huevos Benedict deconstruidos así. Es muy bonito, pero realmente no es práctico tener que mover los huevos escalfados y todo para construir el plato tú mismo. El panecillo inglés también estaba sin tostar, por lo que un poco empapado y pesado, desafortunadamente. Creo que otros platos podrían ser una mejor idea en este lugar.

Very good coffee, both the blend and the execution (note: good flat white/cappuccino is best when not scorching hot, just around 60 degree or so is optimal). I like the room and the choice of seating, from stools to benches to chairs. Some staff are more friendly that others, but everybody is polite and professional. Prices are in the normal range for Brighton.

Really friendly staff, but fell down on all other fronts. Bottles on shelves were cloaked with dust. Mirrors smeared with grime, floors filthy. Although a coffee roaster/retailer, they had, bizarrely, run out of all coffee beans to take away (except decaf) - a bit like a pizzeria running out of pizza - and the latte was lukewarm, weak, and very poorly steamed. Couldn’t help feeling we had been slightly had.

Stopped here twice for a take-away cappuccino. The first one was great; the second one very mediocre. I.e. no consistency, which is always a shame. Had a nice brownie.

I love the coffee from small batch so badly but it is not normal how slow the service in this small batch.The most priority to speak with the colleagues after make a coffee.. so sad!

Personal fresco y amable, escuche mi pedido ya que me gusta el café frío. Para las personas que se quejan sobre el café caliente adicional y el trabajo en la industria durante muchos años, estoy seguro de que no quieren quemar su paladar, ni quemar la leche y recibir quejas, tal vez la próxima vez solicite que calienten su taza. agua caliente. Cuando la gente pide un café extra, es porque les gusta EXTRA CALIENTE. Creo que he estado viniendo aquí durante unos buenos 5 meses y siempre la misma historia. .No entiendo por qué es tan difícil conseguir esto. Esta compañía quiere ser y parecer la mejor compañía de café en Brighton: personal creativo e inconformista que está tan bien entrenado en el arte con leche pero que ni siquiera puede calentar la leche a más de 60 grados.

Una de las cafeterías más atractivas que he visitado. Este lugar está lleno de encanto y los propietarios claramente ponen mucho esfuerzo para que sea un ambiente cómodo y limpio.Siempre es encantador encontrarse en un lugar con pasión, y por personas que realmente aman lo que hacen.Small Batch Coffee es ciertamente eso, ¡y tiene un fabuloso café para arrancar!Los dos tipos con los que he tratado aquí son encantadores y muy genuinos.Visítalo si estás en la zona. Of all the coffee places I've tried in Brighton so far, this one for me offers the best combination of spacious, comfortable environment (stools with small support at back or benches along the wall) and top coffee quality (excellent beans and roast, flat white prepared with top skill).

Con unas pocas horas para perder entre citas, entré en The Small Batch Coffee. Inmediatamente me recibieron con una sonrisa seguida de una fantástica taza de café. Pedí un capuchino que estaba cubierto con una capa de espuma esponjosa y bellamente decorada, ¡mi favorita! Gran lugar para sentarse y trabajar o charlar con amigos.

Especially if it’s sunny try sitting outside in the sun, it’s so relaxing with a delicious piece of pastry. Service very good. Hygiene in the restaurant cafeteria is only average

I have only been here once, so maybe it was a fluke, but my cup of filter coffee topped up with coconut milk was out of this world. I usually add sugar to coffee but on this occasion didn't need to.

I don't usually have very good experiences at the various Small Batch Coffee establishments around Brighton. Generally I find their coffee too strong & not very palatable.

Lovely spot - coffee is great, friendly staff, decent selection of pastries. Good to sit outside and watch the world go by...

I ordered two take away coffees when there was no line, some people in the cafe but not obviously busy and two memebers if staff behind the counter. They were both very passive, not friendly and it seemed like I was a nuisance rather than a customer. When I went to pay I put my card into the machine and the man walked off to have a chat with his colleague which is fine but it was a significant amount of time of me waiting there in the middle of the transaction without the staff member even saying “I’ll be one second”. I know these seem like minor things but customers want to feel comfortable and I certainly didn’t awkwardly standing there for quite a while and feeling like a bother.

This place used to be good for coffee and savouries - no more. Coffee just ok and apart from lots of sweet pastries and flapjacky things only breakfast was bacon roll - dry and floury with poor bacon. Place beginning to look dingy too.

This used be a favourite haunt but it's been a while. Anyway, returned today and was very disappointed. The wrong coffee order arrived, and then without milk. To be fair the barista gave us a card for a free coffee as we'd overpaid. The baristas need to stop trying to out-cool each other and concentrate a bit more on the coffee and customer service. Less dancing, mucking around with the sound system (changing tracks, playing with the volume etc) and more attention to detail please. All in all quite a stressful experience and not the relaxing start to the day we'd hoped for.

When I visit my brother up in Brighton I insist on having a coffee here. The modern building combined with a relaxing atmosphere and good coffee makes my visit all worth while!

A nice coffee shop with snacks. Very nice cortado. A popular little place seemed to be used by locals in the area so says something. Nice staff and will bring your coffee to you so you don't have to stand around waiting.

Frequently come here to either work or socialise. Coffee and cakes are good quality. It is expensive but it is Seven Dials.

Looks lovely but is so expensive for a coffee which is only one size and very small. The food looks nice but again is expensive.

Distracted and very slow service....such a bore to walk in for a quick coffee and sit waiting for 15 mins....we are not used this nowadays I guess but honestly the servers were very happy chatting amongst themselves and seemed annoyed when I enquired about the whereabouts for my coffee!

The small batch coffee café is a very nice place to be for breakfast 🍳 and lunch 🍴, as they do croissant, drinks such as hot chocolate...for lunch there is a lot of choice e.g. Sandwiches...

it a nice placebwith seating outside and inside. the coffee is good the staff friendly the decor appealingly neutral. They do a loyalty card and the food is nice if you are after a sandwich or cake. However if you go at a busy time always be prepared to wait about 5-10mins for a coffee even on take away.

I went in to get a coffee to take away which seemed to take ages for the two barrista's behind the counter to make. There was no queue and a sat down beside the serving area to wait. Perhaps less chat about their night before might have resulted in me getting my coffee quicker.

Friendly, engaging staff, a good atmosphere plus nice coffee. Good for people watching. They ran out of the Americano coffee I wanted so gave me another coffee (can't remember the name) free. The Food looks nice although haven't eaten there yet. One of the better coffee shops in the Dials in my opinion. Will return soon.

Small Batch Coffee is known to most in Sussex, but their 7 Dials cafe is probably one of the best. Large, spacious, with excellent coffee and accessories for sale, it also has decent opening hours. I can't think of many decent coffee chains open at 8am on a Sunday with such chirpy and helpful staff.

Really nice venue and meeting place - excellent coffee almost goes without saying but also they have a great line in funky teas - really appreciated the warm welcome :-)
