All good my butter chicken was full of flavours only one thing please let customers know if the delivery running late. Thanks for good food

I have tried this place last night can’t fault anything.

Absolutely useless restaurant. Ordered take out, charged my card for £35, food never showed up and no communication of when it would arrive. The restaurant never answered phone calls or anything. One time seems excusable but after reading other reviews looks like they have a habit of not being able to do the basic parts of running a restaurant. Do yourself a favor and eat literally anywhere else.

I used to absolutely love Slumdog food when I first tried it at the Leith Walk location, and I would go out of my way to get food from there. Sadly, the quality seems to have gone down recently. Just yesterday I placed a takeaway order which included my favourites - the honey chilli chips were as good as always, but I was disappointed with everything else. The Paneer wrap was generous in terms of the amount of cheese, but drenched in sauce and I'm pretty sure there were some onions in it despite my asking for them to be removed. The Aloo Chana Chaat was the most disappointing, as it seemed like just a tin of chickpeas thrown into a container with some sauce on top. Seasoning generally lacking. I just know the food from Slumdog used to be amazing, so I'm not sure what happened. Hopefully it can go back to the quality I was used to once.

I was there today food was really bad and very spicy. When I said for very mild food. I will never be back I tell all my friends. The staff was not nice to me and no smile. The bad takeaway in world 😕 😐

Visited today at the busy teatime rush, myself and my daughter had Tandoori chicken tikka wraps, one was ordered to come without tomatoes, ww waited 10 maybe 15 minutes for the food which came in two separate wrappers to separate the one without tomatoes, my honest opinion.......absolutely delicious, generous portion, reasonable price too, friendly service also, the wait time couldn't be helped as the kitchen was very busy at that time. So it's a 5 star from us

I should have trusted my judgement when i sat waiting the hygiene was terrible and was pretty ill afterwards.

Below average! Half cooked lamb chops, stale veg biryani, smelly paneer. Update: I have replied to you with order details. Please do not respond with standard lines and waste each-other time.

We took a takeaway for a family get together. The samosa chat was very good and the overall packaging was decent as well. However in the main course only Nan seemed to be fresh while all the other main curries tasted weird. Veg biryani was stale and smelly and we didnt risk eating it. Overall a bad experience .

Very bad taste bought chole puri dal makhni and tandoori roti taste was very bad and some beans in dal and chole was not cooked well no salt no taste at all in both dishes. I recommend not to visit this shop. Prices are high and taste is zero.

Really disappointing Mushroom rice really really stinked bad- one hundred percent old left over. Hopefully they'll try to improve but I'm never going to order again.

Waste of money samosa bland with no flavour paneer wrap have some sharp wood possibly vegetable leftovers not cleaned properly before cooking spent £40 food was 0/10 ruined the meal

*update 2* the voucher never worked. *update* was offered a voucher for the difference. Good customer service when you email. Would go back for the street food like the Samosa Choley and Tikki Chaat. - Pricing is inconsistent. Browsed a menu from their website where the deals / meals were advertised at a price considerably less than what I ended up paying for. When highlighted, staff seemed aware of issue but no apology or explanation.

I called in at Slumdog this evening and ordered a chicken Madras with cumin and pea rice. The service was friendly and quick and I was soon heading home with generous helpings of my order. I really enjoyed my meal which was delicious - packed with flavour and had just the right level of spice for me. So I thought I would recommend.

Got 2 Kormas pilau and egg fried rice with 2 nans food was amazing chicken was spot on defo coming back

Had a delicious meal in the lovely evening . Excellent menu with slumdog and prices very good with 45£ for 4 courses menu and rice and naan as well . The lamb curry was delicious! Note that the lamd is served on the bone and need to flake the meat out . And it delicious and worth the effort ! Service was bit flaky and there is a stuff made small mistake with our order but this appeared down to staffing issues and staff that were there tried to keep on top of it . The manager came and did his best too so I’ll be happy to order again .

Ordered food which took forever to arrive and the food was honestly not great at all and very overpriced, think they need to focus on smashing one location, spread themselves too thin with so many locations, no authenticity.

I recently visited Edinburgh while staying in London, and I was on the hunt for an excellent Indian restaurant to satisfy my craving for spicy food. I indulged in some delicious dishes, including chilly garlic naan, chili garlic chicken, and the papdi chaat, all prepared to my desired spice level upon request.

Ordered on the phone and was told 20 mins, I followed up with a phone call 15 mins later for an update where I was told 5 mins, I come in and they tell me it’ll be another 20 mins. I was told 20 and ended up not getting my food at all and wasting half an hour of my time Staff are incompetent, service is bad, complete waste of time

Ordered 2 different varieties of paneer wraps around 3.50pm today. Very disappointed cos both the wraps had same taste and loaded 100% with same super hot spicy sauce. Both had to be binned.

The food arrived cold, item missing. Delivery driver can't follow instructions. The nicest tasting thing was the boiled rice! Very expensive for one person. Was not good at all! Edit. Yeah offered my Daughter a voucher for next time. She has declined as the food was so bad!

EDIT: The restaurant owner personally apologised for the incident and refunded the entire amount. It was a really considerate gesture that truly showed he genuinely cared for the customers. Really disappointed with the experience. Ordered food to be delivered and the time shown was 14.05pm but even after an hour no one picked up the call and I had no idea when the food would be delivered. Finally after two hours and 30 min someone from the restaurant called and asked for my delivery address which I had already specified while placing the delivery. The food was delivered more than 3 hrs after placing the order. The food was cold and items were missing and the portion was too little for the amount of money taken. Absolutely disappointed with the experience. More than everything what annoyed me the most was they tried to shift the blame of getting delayed on me by saying the address was not provided which is absolutely not true.

Decent food for take away.. If u r fresh from India. U may like it.. Not the authentic taste.. But definitely good

We’ve had no dinner. Ordered early evening. My fully paid in advance online order (Slumdog Delivered website) never turned up! This was despite me calling to chase it and being told the driver is on the way, be about 5 minutes. … No show, again called back by which time it was running an hour late (more than 2 hours after time of order). Same person, different story: “We can’t find your order, it will take 15 minutes to cook” This was at 10pm.

I placed an order with this shop but unfortunately the order and delivery was not completed due to unforseen circumstances so i had to cancel. I ordered though just eat but they kept my refund for some reason and still haven't got back to me. I just received a visit from Slumdog to my home with a full cash refund after i comtacted their customer services. I am very impressed and thank you very much for sorting out. I have used this Indian before and the food is very nice. I will still definitely use again. Thank you once again your customer services are very good.

Ordered at 18.20, got most of that at 20.05 and had to heat it up in the microwave, rest of order came at 21.44, first time customer and will definitely be the last time for us, absolutely shocking service

Took 2 and half hours to make it to the address. Forgot parts of our order. Had to let them know it was for delivery after an hour and 20 (gave our address over the phone and specifying delivery). Got hung up on twice whilst I was trying to figure out what was happening with the order. Curry was good, shame about the organisation.

Terrible service, ordered a delivery from the local branch and food arrived cold well over an hour after the expected delivery time (more than 2 hours after placing the order). Called to get an up date when the order didn't arrive 10 minutes after the expected time and was told the driver was just 10-15 minutes away. 20 minutes later still nothing called again, told driver is just 10 minutes away, and this repeats, the driver is always 10 minutes away. Turns out they move the order to another one of their branches much further away, it seems the local one which I ordered from was understaffed. That's bad management and planning by Slumdog. The poor driver should have refused to take the order as it was clearly outside of his zone. I would have preferred that the order was cancelled/refused instead of going through all the hassle. They tried offering a voucher, but I've no desired to deal with this establishment again.

Order food through uber eats and it didn’t arrive. They marked the delivery as delivered. Pathetic service

First time I ordered at slumdog, and it will be the last. They called me 3 times to tell me that an item on my order was not available, when I said I did not want these items replace, they try to force me into order something else to match the total cost of my order, so they won't have to reimburse me. And then when they did deliver my order some items were still missing. So I Don't recommend this restaurant.

I ordered a takeaway. I only live 10 minutes walk form the place. The female sent to deliver my order could not find my address. Why was she walking anyway? When I got the food it was COLD!

Usually the food from slum dog is nice but today I had pathetic service. I ordered food at 5:25 pm and The food was supposed to be delivered at 6:19 according to the timings on the website at the time of order. I called at 7 after waiting for one and half hour and was told driver just left shop. Food arrived at 7:29 pm and it was completely cold. All after I paid for delivery £4.50 There were no papaddoms in the delivery too which I ordered. I know it’s special day and you might be busy but ordering at 5:24 you do expect food to be in 1 hour atleast not 2 hours late and ruin someone’s special evening. Tiki were gone hard from the sides and yoghurt is separated on it. Chips were very soggy and had burnt black bits in them so kids just threw them in the bin. Food is way too spicy even for me who is used to indian spices. Naan were hard to chew. Slum dog is one of the takeaway who delivers in Kirkliston and that’s why we keep ordering from you. I do expect delays on special days too but after waiting two hours if food is terrible, it’s not worth it.

First Time trying them out as other places were closed, I ordered a lamb karahi and it was very tasty. Will definitely be returning here more often.

Ordered at 6:30pm. Called at 7:50pm to see where our food was (promised 50 mins delivery time) and was told by it would be 10 more mins. It turned up at almost 9pm. Don't waste your time.

Ordered 7pm, 8:50pm called and asked where it was, was told it was on its way but said it was unacceptable how late it is. They said they would throw in popodoms and drinks for free and we questioned how they could when it was on the way. We were lied to and it was still sitting in the shop. Very disappointed and will not order again. Hopefully it does eventually arrive

2 hours 15 minutes for food ordered through Uber Eats on a Tuesday afternoon. Called 3 times and was told a different excuses each time. FYI, if you order from this branch before 4pm on Uber Eats, the order is actually sent to the Leith Walk branch and they just take note of it until this branch opens at 4pm. That explains the first hour of the wait, the remaining 1hr 15min wait for delivery less than a mile from the store was not explainable. Didn't offer refund, I asked to cancel the order which they said they would but they didn't. Had to complain through Uber Eats to get refund. Food was cold on arrival. Taste of wrap was good, the rest very average.

We decked to try this as we fancied something different. Well different was the case as the food was amazing. I got the street food wrap with Garlic Mayo I had veg and chicken as you get to select what stuff you want in it. It was so tasty. My husband got a lamb Dansak and picked a medium just to see what the spice mix was like for our first visit. I got to taste a piece of the Lamb it was so tender and melted in my mouth His words was it was an explosion of flavours and you weren’t over powered by the spices. His rice was nice it wasn’t overcooked at l and the man bread was a garlic and coriander and it didn’t disappoint either. They meal in its self was amazing. We would highly recommend it.

Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. First time eating from here (19/6/21). Ordered tandoori chicken street wrap. Was just amazing. Delicious. Superb. Parking the car can be challenging. This place honestly the food was so so good. It is small and wheelchair access is non existent but the staff are more than happy to speak to you outside and bring your order to you. Bonus was just across the road is a shell petrol station and I needed petrol. Not far from crammond where the heritage walk is also amazing after an amazing meal from slumdog

I’ve just tried to order food and they are were over an hour and a half late. They said they already delivered the food when they never and they said they would send a new order in half an hour??? When I waiting I called after 15 minutes to make sure it was coming they said I only phoned 6 minutes ago which was a obvious lie. The customer service was AWFUL. It is a Wednesday night.... never order during the week to a chain restaurant.... I never normally order durning the week and also I NEVER post a review but this service was shocking!

Extremely poor food taste. The biriyani rice was completely under cooked. The delivery service is good but the quality of food is absolutely pathetic. Not recommended. Complete waste of money.

Having had takeaway from Slumdog before the food has been very good but the customer service I received tonight was shocking. My daughter is allergic to cow's milk so I phoned to find out what would be safe for us to order. The person I spoke to was unhelpful and obstructive. They eventually told me they were not actually looking at the menu and were telling me what they 'thought' would be dairy free. They said they needed to speak to the manager and then hung up on me. The website and JustEat menus have a number of discrepancies with regards to allergens (e.g. a dish containing cottage cheese is not labeled as containing dairy) which makes it impossible to trust the dishes that are listed as not containing allergens. It is frustrating and tiring living with food allergies when all you want is to enjoy a nice takeaway together as a family - it really wouldn't be that hard for takeaways such as Slumdog to have correct information on their menu.

My girlfriend ordered food here last night, was delicious at the time and hers was fine. I’ve had the sweats, chills and about 10 trips to the bowl from mine, infact I’m on the bowl again as I write this. I eat Indian twice a week, rarely an issue but this one has destroyed me and not in a good way

The best Indian food I've had in a very long time. Don't be put off by the prices because you're paying for quality here. The portions are generous and it's all tastes wonderful.

I had an issue with the chicken tikka masala delivered to me. I called the restaurant back and the chef was kind enough to prepare an Indian chicken curry just for me (not on menu). I got it delivered along with some extra delicacy from the restaurant within next 20 minutes. The delivery guy was in a hurry and I couldn't get a chance to tip him for his service on a rainy night. Please let me know if I can tip the guy anyway.

Absolute waste of money. Ordered chicken rolls starter 5 peice. All of them are completely burnt and cannot cut with knife/fork, worst bit is cannot even chew. Also ordered veg fried rice, it is filled with broccoli.. had similar experience in the past and I thought I would change the order a bit but I think the whole menu is the same. Never ever again.

Food lovely, although delivery drivers wandering in the kitchen doesn't seem the best idea, given covid situation. Not wearing masks then either.

We thought we’d try the Glasgow road branch as it delivers to us, despite poor reviews for delivery. Sadly the food was an hour late and cold. The chicken tikka wraps were tasty but on the cold side and the chips were soggy and stone cold as was the side dish. Unlikely to order again.
