Thanks for a lovely bottomless brunch and great service from kayne who was very friendly and attentive more than happy to help with making our afternoon.

The location was wonderful right on the canal and we set literally on top of the water. The combo dinner deal we had was really great and prompt. There were two individuals that stood out: Catherine and Kayne were such helpful hosts and their service was impeccable. We didn’t have to wait for anything and they were attentive and super polite. Just lovely all around their attentiveness was. Yay!😁.

Had the sharing platter and cocktails/mocktails, all lovely! Also, great service from Abbey, she was really helpful and kind 🙂

Nice friendly staff, lovely refreshing drinks, locals all seemed nice and chatty. Great atmosphere and nice to sit by the riverside.

We have lunch at Slug & Lettuce today. The venue is beautiful next to the river, the lunch deal is really worth it! Rosanna did an amazing job with the burgers, they disappeared super fast! Jess did a great job and accommodated to all our requests. Big thank you to the team for a great lunch.

Lovely environment sat outside by the river enjoyed watching the swans and ducks whilst enjoying a lovely lunch. I am in a wheelchair so being able to access this was great didn't use the facilities so can not comment but was able to get around easily and get outside easily. We found it tricky to access the Gluten free menu as it required you to download the app and put in card details which we did not not want to do we did find eventually find it on the website. Food was well cooked, presented well and taste delicious. Staff were pleasant, helpful and friendly. Thank you Jess and our chef Rosanna would defo recommend.

We just visited S&L Newbury Big disappointment our food was uneatable !!! fries were burnt to the point where you could damage your teeths burnt meat in our burgers staff unable to help she said she is new

Great food from the Chefs Arnold & Danny, cane hot and well presented for a large hen party for the bottomless brunch. Also great table service from Catherine & Jess as we were a big group, lots of drink orders, which they handled really well. Especially appreciated the continuous clearing of glasses. Thank you

Worst Fish and Chips ever! Having visited this pub for the first time this evening hoping for a nice meal, what a disappointment. We ordered fish and chips but sorry to say this was the worst fish we have ever been served. The fish was like a piece of rubber and we would have sent it back but after being served not one member of staff came over to ask how the meal was or if we wanted anything else. There where 4 staff behind the bar not serving anyone just chatting and not busy at all. This is our first experience at a Slug and Lettuce and unfortunately will be the last. I normally never leave a review but in this case I felt compelled to.

Empty premises and waiting time for simple food 25 minutes. Ridiculous. Green tea served with a bag in kettle and with milk that shows no clue about serving green tea. Staff needs training. Food ok.

I came to the Slug and Lettuce to have a leaving drinks gathering with a group of 13 people. We had a blast sipping on drinks and enjoying some delicious sharing platters. The portions were so generous! I couldn't help but appreciate the friendly service of Ethan and Molly. They always had a smile on their faces, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Very disappointing. Pre booked and stated it was for a birthday. All 6 of us ate separately, up to 30mins between some dishes and the last one took 45mins!! No rice for two of the meals! Apology given but no offer of at least a free drink for the birthday girl, whose meal was essentially ruined - especially as she was one of the last to eat!! We saw food piled up on the pass as all staff (at least 5 I saw behind the bar alone), were too busy making cocktails! Would NOT eat here again!

It looked so promising, great food menu but we waited so much! Dirty tables, glasses left behind, we were there for about 2 hours and only when we were leaving, we saw one of the chefs collecting glasses, at 10pm! We went to order at the bar as we didn't want to download the app, we queued for 10 minutes, only other 2 people were before us in the queue, however there was one member of staff only taking orders and making coktails, plus another one that would not take orders and didn't even know how to unlock the cocktail vases (my friend showed her), in the end I came to think that maybe she was kitchen staff and was trying to help her busy colleague. Food took 45 minutes to come (the s and l sharer) and most of the elements were cold. For the second round of drinks, we decided to download the app to "skip" the queue at the bar, we still waited 30 minutes for 2 mojitos, and we would have waited longer if we hadn't gone to the bar to ask for them. I think they must have had an absence at the bar because I can't believe they expected to get through a shift with one competent member of staff on his own, especially when they promote cocktails and they are so time consuming, you need at least 2 people behind the bar. If I decided to come back, I would check how many members of staff are working before I sit down.

The staff were very polite and the atmosphere was just right. Came in for cocktails and my gosh 241 all the time couldn’t believe it such good quality and beautiful presentation. Thoroughly enjoyed my steak sandwich !! Perfectly cooked and looked amazing on the plate chef kiss to the chef 💋 Would definitely recommend to any one looking for a nice place to eat can’t wait to be back on the weekend for some loud music and a boogie!!!.
