Popped in for a quick bite to eat 😋 had the burger and I'm going to say it was absolutely delicious 💯 it's flame grilled which is very rare but just adds to the flavour

Lovely rustic pub, very warm welcome, from the landlady and all the team. Watched Morris dancing, very enjoyable.

My friend and I travel over an hour each to meet up every few months. However, the last few occassions we've have had to leave early (about 8.15 last orders) as they have closed the pub, which is incredibly disappointing. No explanation why just start putting chairs on tables and asking us to finish up. The food and service is good but sadly we won't be going back. I have given 3 stars as they keep shutting early

Popped in for some lunch with my partner. I had a chicken burger which was dry and tasteless. No presentation at all. My Partner had fish and chips which he said were bland. The pub itself is lovely but the food was disappointing and the service wasn’t the best. Had to stand up to request menus and then stand up again to chase up the coffee order. Wouldn’t be back in a hurry.

We had a very enjoyable meal today Spring Bank Holiday Monday. Rather disappointed with the limited choice of main courses. We had excellent service from Katie our waitress. She was very attentive, polite, friendly and had a great sense of humour. The restaurant is nicely decorated and located across the road from a lovely Wildlife site.

A really lovely roast dinner, cooked beautifully and with care. Arrives hot to the table and not all restaurants manage that. Will definitely be back soon!

Beautiful location, friendly staff. Food was decent but service lost one star for not cutting the burgers in half as per my request. Not a deal-breaker however, will visit again.

Very well looked after and the food was well presented and very tasty. A little more expensive than perhaps similar pubs but you get what you pay for!

Nice pub, clean and tidy, service is good. Food selection seemed a little limited for mains on a Saturday lunchtime.

Middle of the afternoon on a Sunday: the staff were great and the food was delicious. In particular, Emily was fantastic with our kids. We've been before and we'll definitely come back again.

A chicken Caesar salad without any croutons, anchovies and hardly any sauce is better described as chicken and lettuce! Quite disappointing.

Always a great place to come to with our 2 dogs. Very Dog friendly and the waitress Emily didn't mind at all when they got under her feet. Foods really great, pub classics, very well done.

The waitress was completely disinterested in her work and this didn’t make for a pleasant experience. Food was mediocre and unfortunately not very hot, I imagine it had been sitting a while waiting for the waitress to collect from the kitchen. They need to get their act together. No excuse .

This was genuinely the best pub food I've had in over a year. In fact, until yesterday I had pretty much given up on getting good quality food in pub settings. All four of our party has different menu options at the Fox and Hounds and were very impressed with the presentation, quality of ingredients and taste. The service was great too! Highly recommended

We arrived here for lunch having booked because it was close to the route of a walk we were doing along the River Kennet. 12.30 Friday, the pub/restaurant was buzzing, there must have been 60 diners and a group of cyclists stopping off for a drink. Nevertheless we were seated and coffees arrived promptly. We ordered a Caesar salad and a chicken burger - the food arrived after about 25 minutes and it was an excellent pub lunch, especially the salad which came with perfectly cooked chicken and plenty of excellent fresh anchovies. Service was friendly and charming, and the pub was immaculate both inside and out, such a beautiful old building, and I love to see the effort put into their planters and hanging baskets. Really impressive for a large chain restaurant. We would definitely return if walking in the area again. I've taken one star off the food only because I felt it was a little expensive for a pub lunch menu, but everywhere similar is similarly priced now! Otherwise it was perfect, thank you

Tenía tantas ganas de una cena familiar. He oído cosas buenas sobre este pub. Desafortunadamente llegando a las 7 am y estando sentados, esperamos una hora antes de que nuestra comida llegara después de perseguirlo. Cuando llegó para ser justo se veía muy bien, desafortunadamente bajó colina desde allí, y su idea de guisantes musgosos fue muy decepcionante. El pescado y las patatas fritas eran muy soso y no agradable. La estaca de la esposa era muy masticable la comida de los niños ciertamente no era como se describe. Qué lástima, quitó el límite de lo que debería haber sido una comida de celebración.

We booked for 12 people and changed our arrival time twice and they were incredibly responsible, flexible and cheery about it. Service was top notch and food was more than decent. Excellent eggs and those biscoff filled doughnuts were to die for. Very impressed. Special mention to Jade for attentive, warm and thoughtful service.

Lovely pub and even though it was busy our server (Maddie J) was fantastic, very attentive and friendly. Knew what we had all ordered (table of 10) and was prompt with the order and drinks. A really outstanding service and a credit to the company.

Pusimos un alfiler en el mapa para encontrar un lugar para pre-reservar para el almuerzo del domingo que estaba aproximadamente a mitad de camino a casa de un viaje a Devon. Fue una gran elección, ya que estaba a 5 minutos de la M 4 y la comida era fantástica. El asado del domingo fue realmente delicioso y no podía faltar. Definitivamente construiremos esta parada en futuros viajes.

Visited this afternoon with my family, the welcome from Jade was so warming and friendly. She made a real effort to make us feel welcomed along with our 5 boys, she got them colouring pages and crayons to keep them entertained. The service was brilliant from start to finish, she made a real effort to make sure we was seated, served and satisfied with our food. Which on another note, the food was lovely. Lovely family pub, will recommend and definitely be back!
