Just had a take out of starter meals didn't like at all food very dry and crispy not usual standard food a hundred pound in the bin .

We were able to secure a last minute reservation on a Saturday night. Food was fresh, tasty and came very quickly. The service was good. Parking is free (comes with a voucher after you’ve finished your meal). Would definitely recommend.

Very poor meal. Duck was tough & chewy. Normally excellent but this was extremely disappointing for the cost

Usually use these for Chinese take away, usually very nice but latest one was bland, under seasoned and tasted watery. Very disappointing compared to usual food received. Every delivery lately always need a blast in the microwave as its going cold too.

Great food delivered on time and hot

I,m afraid it dipped well below expectation. I had duck in black bean with chips. 6 Duck pieces were more skin than meat, I had 1 green bean, 3 pieces of green pepper and a the rest was made up of chopped onion. The chips were dry shrivelled and looked as if reheated from lunch menu, quite inedible for the most. Although the sauce was tasty the meal for the price was well below the standard of old. Disappointed.

Quick delivery but chicken and vegetable noodles were very average and satay chicken deep fried in batter. Not what i expected having sampled many chicken satay portions. Big let down.

Excellent food and service. Special mention to the manageress ( I think Shilo was here name ) who went above and beyond for my disabled wife. Beware there are 3 flights of stairs up to the restaurant and very narrow to the ladies toilet ( and 3 more steps )

Really lovely restaurant ( nicer than expected from the outside), we were a bit confused by reviews but basically it is ‘all you can eat Buffett ’ however they serve the food at table on food warmers , you order 6 starters ( they are small but lovely) then comeback and ask if you want to order more, then you order main courses and rice / noodles etc and again not huge but really tasty and you can order more if you want , finally you order deserts again not huge but more available if required . Very nice interior , clean and relaxed atmosphere and staff are very nice. Excellent value £20pp Would definitely recommend and would visit again when in area

Quite disappointed, having read the majority of good reviews thought we would give it a try, had the buffet,felt it was overpriced for the quality of the food, we did go on a Saturday night , two of our party barely ate but still had to pay full price for them, the starters were nice but the main courses weren't great!we ended up leaving most of it untouched, very watery Thai green curry, an Indonesia curry which in reality was just chip shop curry so that was left barely touched,noodles very salty, so disappointed sadly

It's not as good as a few years ago, but it's still one of the better ones locally.

We ordered a meal to be delivered for mothers day, and it was probably the best take away Chinese meal that we have ever had....delicious!

It was such lovely food, the atmosphere and wait staff are excellent! The buffet is delicious and the food is cooked fresh meaning it's more hygienic! I found their vegetarian option to be as delicious as what I'm told the standard menu was! My only complaint is that ordering can be confusing if not everyone is having the buffet. They have excellent accommodation for allergies and parking was really easy! Highly recommend!

Had my daughter’s 11th Birthday on 11/06/24, she had a brilliant time, absolutely loved it. Staff were amazing and brilliant with the children, made their day, made such a fuss of the kids. Food was fantastic, great value for money, wish we could have eaten more, the mains were especially tasty. Thanks so much for making a Tuesday night so much fun ❤️

Very disappointed been going to The Slowboat Chester for years many special occasions celebrated there however after visiting on Sunday I can honestly say I would never go there again its gone from a nice restaurant to what only can be described as a mediocre canteen, food was extremely poor starters served when we're half way through the soup so sitting going cold, pancakes for the duck hadn't even been cooked and generally a huge disappointment such a shame

Visited here for a family members birthday, we arrived slightly early but immediately we were seated and given a few minutes to browse the menu. Excellent food and great value, 2 of us opted in for the buffet and the other 3 stuck to the usual menu. Food cooked and prepared fresh which really showed in its quality. Very happy with efficient service and felt respected by all staff. Absolutely recommend a visit!

Takeaway was lovely and fast delivery

The App needs to be looked at. I selected a meal and the app said I'd earn 950 points. I then selected more items but when I got to checkout it said I'd only earned 152 points. Food was amazing though and the service was great

Awful experience rude delivery man took all food out on the pavement to dine bbq sauce to take out waited 15 mins to give me my food I pre paid for, food was freezing cold.

One of the best noodles I've had. Had the spicy Asian chilli sauce noodles, and the sauce is very tasty. And the portions are very decent. Their toppings are very generous. Definitely recommend.

Everything was amazing loved it all but as a preference I would have preferred a bit more sauce on the lemon and honey chicken, but still very tasty

Awful meal ordered two portions of salt and pepper ribs that were inedible due to tasting of pure salt. Cantonese beef was watery sauce and rice was all sticky not correct for fried rice. £30 plus for an awful takeaway

Starters great, loads of choice, main meal not that exciting

First time ordering from the slow boat takeaway and won't be going back. The starters prawn roast and spring rolls were over cooked and hard and sa.e for the half duck, it was cremated beyond crispy. The mains were decent and rice was fluffy. Overall disappointing and wad expe sive, even after 20% off

A great all you can eat menu, we had 2 lots of starters for 9 and we were very happy. Main meal was spot on. This was our first visit but we will be back again.

Really good food, and good value.

We had takeout, so it was a great atmosphere at home 🙂. Ribs and wings were served in the same box, which was weird, as the had different sauces. Ribs were not tender - they need cooking a long time. You’d have thought the slow boat would know that by now 🙄. It was all delivered on time, but food was just ok.

Attended last night, all starters were extremely overdone an chewy. They was In a rush to get each course away an get us out of there an also 4 out of 5 had belly ache an a really bad belly the next day.

Good value for money, large menu and the banquet meal is well worth ordering. Interesting style of serving as small flame powered heat trays are under the food to ensure it isn’t cold - added to the charm of the place. I’d recommend a visit here.

Food was gorgeous as always but they missed the prawn crackers out and I had chosen them as a starter from the meal deal for 2 so was very disappointed!

Right...full disclosure I'm not a foodie so while I can't comment in a matter that's relevant, in what regards food...I had a meal which was delicious, served with a smile and nothing seemed to be too much bother for them. It is a family owned business for the past 60 years...it is a piece of Chesters history

Hot food delivered bang on time. So much choice on the menu. Large portions. Standard of food and ingredients is a cut above any other Chinese takeaway we"ve ordered at home. Delicious!!!

Delivered half an hour late and barely lukewarm. Very little sauce on the dish. Not up to their usual standard
